I was really excited to eat here, a vegetarian Japanese restaurant! A few minutes walk from the Wan Chai MTR, it's on the 9th floor of a building. Once you arrive you're greeted by very modest decor, simple, functional, yet warm and inviting. We had reservations, though on a Monday night there were plenty of seats available. You can choose from 2 pre fixe menus: omakase (chef's choice) or a hot pot. Both were $368 HKD. We had the omakase, which came with tea and a whopping 7 courses!!! Bring your appetite. Each portion is enough for an individual, neatly plated, and good. The flavors are subtle, not strong in any way. I enjoyed the sushi the most. I am a bit of mixed feelings on the order of which each dish was served. The food was served with attention to when we were just about finished with the prior dish. Plates were cleared consistently. Overall, I had a good experience here. I'd be curious about their lunch menu as I'd get to try other things I wanted to order (tempura 🤤). If you want a unique vegetarian dining experience without too much fuss, this is a great choice!

One of the best vegan/vegetarian restaurants in HK. The food is flavourful without being overwhelming or trying to mimick meat flavours and textures. The first time visiting, I tried their Hot Pot set. I enjoyed it enough; it was a 7/10 for me. However, their other set is a good 9/10 from me. Their sushi and just everything was perfect 👌🏾👌🏾. I wanted to ask for seconds! The service received was also pretty good. We never felt like we had to beg to get help from the staff; 10/10 there.

I brought my family there for a Father's Day celebration. This was my second visit to the restaurant and I enjoyed it the first time. My father in law told me that he was feeling bloated and didn't feel too good when he got to the restaurant and asked if he could eat something small or skip the meal. We asked one of the waiters, who then went to check with the manager/owner. Another waitress came to take our order and then offered my father in law the option of just having a plate of sushi, as that was already previously prepared for the booking. We agreed to take it and then all of a sudden, the manager or owner stormed into the room. He told us that if we had a problem with the restaurant and didn't like it here, we could leave. When we tried to explain ourselves, he stormed out the room. We were in absolute shock and other guests were looking at us to see what happened. I was speechless and the whole mood at the table was very uncomfortable. We decided to stay since we didn't want to go looking for another restaurant. The food was good, that did not disappoint. The Japanese waiter was very kind to us and explained each of the dishes. The waitress seemed embarrassed by the situation but was also kind and continued to provide good service. It was unfortunate that the manager/owner blew up on us, especially for the father's day occasion. Unfortunately I don't think I would go back to the restaurant.

Went there during lunch around 12pm and it wasn’t crowded. Good service (which is rare in HK, at least for me), great choice for solo travelers bcos you get variety. Quantity is just right, taste wise it’s on the lighter side - which is fantastic for me! Definitely worth the visit.

Absolutely amazing vegetarian Japanese food! We got the set course dinner and even my non-vegetarian friend loves the dishes! Each dish is unique and very creative letting the flavors of the vegetables shine. They will wait untill you finish the food before you get the next course and the kind staff will explain the ingredients + how to eat it~ I would really recommend coming here for a great experience and lovely food!

This place had been on my list of places I’ve wanted to go for so long, and it did not disappoint! The staff and the food were just as many of the other reviews described – extreme attention to detail and flavorful vegetarian Japanese food that you won’t find elsewhere in HK. There were other dishes that I was too busy eating to take photos of, but this was the omakase set for $338 pp. Both my partner and I were full at the end of the meal! I’m looking forward to returning for the hotpot set someday!

Loved our meal here! Best vegetarian Japanese dinner we’ve had in Hong Kong to date. We had the Spring Omakase dinner set menu (HKD 338pp + service charge) which was incredibly tasty. All the dishes were simple but well thought through and delicious - particularly loved the tofu, soba noodle and peach sorbet. Sakura sushi was also really special. Will definitely return to try the hotpot menu option! Thank you to the lovely staff for such a great dining experience. Highly recommend trying this place.

Great place for anyone that likes simple, good food. Well prepared vegetarian food that preserves the natural flavors of the produce. Simple but very tasty. Good service and good portions. If you go March-April you can also taste the amazing sweet “fruit tomato”.

Came here for a omakase (chef set meal) for dinner. Decor is cold and uninspiring, but clean, neutral tones and lots of beige is standard for the izakaya look. You get a generous pot of green tea and the starters, like every dish, is a tasting portion of japanese cuisine. 7 dishes in total from tofu, delicate chewy plum noodles, tempura (dipping sauce lacked zest), hibachi grill (small stone bbq) which was a bold and flavorful touch owed mostly to the white miso, nigiri, and the tart and sweet apple sorbet with green tea mochi. A great restaurant which could do with being a touch more bold in the cuisine. Otherwise if it's a safe, refreshing, light meal you're after, this is a good start. Owner was very friendly and staff made sure my teapot never went empty.

Excellent flawless vegan tasting menu The chefs are fantastic superb The restaurant owners speak multiple languages and give detailed explanations of all the food dishes: the tea provided is bottomless and you won’t feel rushed It is not cramped at all Large open restaurant space Good for business dinners or if your a foodie and want to take pictures of every single dish - as the presentation of food here is flawless Thank you for making my transition to veganism so much easier

Nice and quiet place to dine! The boss and staff were very friendly and helpful on recommending on what to order. Please note that they only provide set menu so it means you cannot order individually. We went there for lunch as it was cheaper than the dinner set menu. As we had 6 people, we manage to try most of the items on the set menu. You should try the cold noodles it’s really really good and had a refreshing taste to it!! If I am going back there again I would definitely order that bowl of noodles again! According to the boss the menu will change according to season. Do note on the operating hours as they do not take in any customers after the 2:30pm as the kitchen is closed by 3pm. We went for a late lunch which was around 2pm therefore itwasn’t crowded. But if you were to eat there during lunch time you might want to make reservations or go there earlier! Quality and taste of food pretty awesome for a vegetarian Japanese restaurant!

I’m not vegetarian, but with Isoya I could be. Delicious, healthy, affordable Japanese delights like cold soy noodles and sesame spinach salad are my favorite. Even their sushi interpretations - using peeled grilled red pepper or torched mushrooms on rice - surprised me. Service is swift, calm, friendly. A hidden gem!

Weekday lunch. Vegetarian restaurant that is very accommodating for those with dietary restrictions, yet thoroughly enjoyable even for omnivores. Lunch options: can choose 'light' (3 starters, 1 main) or 'heavy' (plus extra grilled items and sushi). We went for 'light' (~HKD110). Clean, refreshing, flavourful all at once with a decent portion. Staff were thoughtful and refilled our tea regularly. Can call to book in advance since it can get full (as at 1/1.30pm, still 1-2 tables available). Seems popular with its regular clientele.

So many new interesting and surprising flavors, so delicious, and all served on cute trays :) We got complimentary green tea. Highly recommended place!!

I am not a vegetarian. I am not really even close to being a vegetarian (back yard had 4 grills and 2 smokers that got use several times a week). I would eat here any night. We had the omakase set meal for two. There was plenty of food, a good variety of food, and the flavors of each piece was amazing. Service was great, and the price was low.

Lunch meal is always the same, as much as it is reliable, it does get a bit boring wish they would change seasonal items. It is my safe choice. Great points go to friendly staff, polite, quiet and relaxing and comfortable seating and environment. Customers are also quiet and mostly office worker(weekday lunch). Spacious, never crowded, clean spacious toilet and order is efficient. Fill in and select what you want from lunch menu, they accommodatefor dairy and or egg free. No miscommunication with order, short wait for food to arrive. We finished in less than 30mins! It is a peace of mind to come to fully vegetarian and vegan restaurants. Unsure if they use 5 pungent spice, doesn't taste like it, but do ask!Good practice to call and reserve for lunch.

I enjoyed a meal here with another 7 friends which were locals. The meal was nice, staff really helpful, the atmosphere was nice, warm and organised to the details. In the moment they saw me, they offered a English version of the menu, which I welcome. The procedure it's organised, we had to mark in the menu our choice, and then enjoy the tea until meals were served. Speed preparing meal and serving it was appropriate. Unlimited tea was available, the meal was filling. We all chose the "normal menu", including 3 starters, a main and dessert. There was no dessert menu, however, desert was served after the main meal. Toilet was nice and clean, and free wi-fi available. I recommend attending there. :))

(Translated by Google) Wife watched TV and introduced Izumiya Japanese wild cuisine a month ago. I was very interested, so I proposed that my friends be there to celebrate Wof's birthday. Isuya offers two dinner options. Wife and a group of four friends can try both. One of them was originally 368 yuan, now it is 338 yuan special. Autumn pot cooks are priced at 398 yuan each, starting from two. Green tea is delicious and the tea set is chic. Beginning with crunchy avocado salad (sesame salad dressing), there are crunchy, avocado, tofu and shredded vegetables. The taste is very rich, and the avocado will be more delicious when cooked a little. The small eight inches have their own flax tofu, Takano tofu, sesame spinach and cucumber noodle sauce. When serving, the staff carefully reminded us to take special care when eating Takano tofu, because it absorbed a lot of juice like a sponge. Waffles and friends like flax tofu and Koya tofu. As the noodle sauce has the strongest flavor, the cucumber and noodle sauce should be left before eating to avoid affecting the taste of tofu. Specialty sushi includes Yakini rolls with yakisoba, indica rice sushi, sushi with eggplant casserole and red pepper sushi, which are attractive and have a more pleasant taste. The indica rice of Inari Inari is more flavorful than expected and tastes a bit like cuttlefish sashimi. The red pepper on the red pepper sushi seems a bit fishy at first glance. The mixed vegetables in the middle of the yakisoba are very crispy and rich in taste. Japanese style potato cakes are fried crispy. Corn and mixed vegetable tempura are relatively common. The first step is to pour the wild vegetable soup in the teapot into the bowl of seaweed winter melon soup bag. I never thought that winter melon could be wrapped in seaweed and tasted good. Then pour the soup into a small tea cup and taste it slowly. Don't forget to eat the radish and mushrooms in the teapot. Ai Bian Tian Le Yao is too hot, so the waffle first eats thick oil Yang Yuyao, thick oil Yang is thick and large tofu, the bean flavor is super strong, the taste and texture of Ai Bian Tian Le Ya is described by friends Sausage powder with sweet sauce. Kyoto soup leaf soy milk shabu-shabu first boil soy milk, and use a fan to pick up the soup leaves to eat. After one person has eaten a soup leaf, the clerk puts vegetables, tofu, blessing bags and dumplings into the pot, and can add yuzu pepper, sesame sauce or yuzu soy sauce according to personal taste. Shabu-shabu is matched with udon, and the other set is made with chestnut rice. The set has a lot of servings, and friends who eat a lot will be satisfied. Desserts include orange jelly and fern cake.

Not only do Joe and his Staff serve delicious food, they also take joy in discussing every food item (how and from what it is made). For us, this dinner was more an experience than an actual dinner. At this place we had the choice between a seven course hot pot or a “summer” menu. Everything is well prepared and decorated. All food is delicious! Joe and his team can make your taste buds experience an extended level of being vegan or vegetarian. Don’t miss out on this place and make sure to reserve a table in advance! We were lucky and got a seat without reservation, so this might be possible as well.

Oh my oh my this is a great Japanese vegetarian lunch place!! GREAT! Excellent service! Excellent taste. High quality food in a serene ambiance. I’m a vegetarian and not a super fan of Japanese food, because I’ve never been to this place. As of now I’m a fan of Japanese food too. My lunch partner and I ordered all the specials and the luxurious menu. It was a feast! the mochi was the best I’ve ever had in my life!! Finesse structure, not too chewy and a taste of mocha on the inside. Price wise was not too bad for a set lunch in HK. But I was happy to pay for quality food. For tourists: Don’t be mislead by the looks and rawness of the street where this restaurant is located. Building 83 is an easy find. Go up 9th floor as soon as you enter the building and you will arrive in a tranquil restaurant.
