Been bookmarking this traditional old hk style dim sum place for months and finally made the trip! As I really don’t like crowds, I have decided to visit as early as 3:30am. The plus side is, crowds successfully avoided; the down side is, many of the dim sum options ain’t available until later the day. Tho I said it is not crowded, it was already full house as we entered. We have tried: • glutinous rice dumplings (I have actually never seen this, it was something from my mum’s generation. Absolutely loving this!) • quail egg pork siu mai • “super Hong Kong style” golden sauce buns • shrimps dumplings with pea sprouts • siu mai (On my second visit:) • radish cake (recommended) • seasoned vegetables roll with assorted meat (ok) • dried scallop and flammulina velutipes dumplings (not our favourite) • shrimps dumpling with vegetables shoots (ok) There was at least 5 more dim sum we wanted to try but was yet available, such a pity! I wouldn’t say everything was AMAZING, but they were very authentic and such a lovely feeling of nostalgia. It worths the hype for at least trying it once, but after my second visit I don’t see I love it enough to be a regular. As a causal dining place goes, the place was tidy enough and the staff was absolutely welcoming and friendly; so that’s also a perk.

A local HK style dim sum joint that will offer you a lot of dim sum or Cantonese dim sum choices. Be prepared for a wet, crowded venue that will make you hesitate at the start, be rewarded with many tasty and fresh dim sum nonstop supplied by the production team. Advice: not a hotel style restaurant and you’d need to go somewhere if you wanted to access any toilet.

This is by far my favourite local dim sum shop. As a foreigner, the atmosphere here doesn't get more authentic than what it is. The dim sum is superbly delicious. If language is a barrier like how it has been for us, just smile and be polite. Go with the flow of what the owners/staff tells or points out to you. Most likely you would need to share the table which makes the experience even better (for us) as we just enjoyed the hustle and conversation around us (without understanding much at all). The lady owner was most nice and she helped fill out the order form for us. We gave her free hand to order and recommend. Every single dish was delicious. My personal favourite is the custard pao. I love it!! Tip, there's a dual language menu right outside the shop. However, the order chit is entirely in Chinese. So if you'd need help still. Or you can be like us and just go with the flow of recommendation.

Absolutely the most incrediblly delicious dimsum (especially the dripping yolk egg bun) coupled with a lively atmosphere. It was way too crowded and you are forced to share already packed tables with strangers. The staff was rushed and a bit rude at times. Although the wait in the queue was very long, the food was well worth it! Needless to say i will be going back again.

The best place for early morning dim sum. Old and traditional dim sum place. Self service for teas and cutlery. Open at 4am. Dim sum are all freshly made and served. Recommend to sit near the kitchen. You can see how they made dim sum and get the hot stuff right when out of stove. Prawn dumplings, deep-fried milk, salted egg buns are must try items. Reasonable and affordable price.

The best Dim Sum in Town (forget about that Michelin rated place) in a local small shop where you sit shoulder to shoulder next to locals and eat way more than you planned to because it‘s so delicious. The atmosphere is great and the queueing time was totally worth it. My favourite was the salty egg yolk which made my day. I would give 6 stars if I could. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Very old style handmade dim sum place, full of neighborly love~ aunties and uncles quite helpful and call out the item names when anything is ready from steamers. Do not expect restaurant grade service or ambience, it's the sort of down-to-earth place for locals, esp workers and students~

Fun old school dim sum place with very reasonable prices. They will shout out the dim sums name as they make it and bring it out, so you can choose to eat the freshly made dim sum. Seating is very basic, so don't expect to sit for long periods and chit chat like the other typical dim sum tea houses.

Came when they just opened and it was also crowded! The crowd turns around pretty quickly, grab a seat and either order from the waitress or help yourself at the counter. Highly recommend the beancurd roll, steamed carrot cake, custard bun, siewmai and hargao. Would give the malaigao a miss though. Overall extremely delicious and authentic dimsum with a truly local vibe!

Old school HK sim sum place. Many tourist; there's a line if you want to dine in. Locals do take out. Not a fancy nor relaxing dining experience (not for the faint-hearted) but shrimp dumplings is good. The fried milk is nice too.

Amazing Dim Sum experience with locals. Long opening hours. The Buns are excellent, and the Lo Mai Gai are to die for!

Probably one of the best and authentic place for Dim Sum on Hong Kong. We woke up early at 7am as we noticed they open at 3am and there wasnt any queue when we arrived. We were seated with the ladyboss and one of her regulars. Being not able to read Chinese, the Ladyboss help us order and she picked all the good stuff. I was enjoyed the curry beef tripe the most amongst all the Dim Sum we had, which were all very good as well. Definately will return if we come to Hong Kong again.

About as authentic of an old time dim sum experience as you'll get. No frills, shared tables and just have to know what to order so will be a bit daunting for those unfamiliar with ordering. Know this is not a place for traditional service, it's just the way it is! The food is excellent with the lava bun and deep fried milk being the stars of our meal.

Dim Sum was reasonably priced and quite good. The custard bao yolk wasnt runny and was cold and that was the only let down.

Location : Kennedy Town , Island West Transportation: 5 mins walk from MTR, Exit B Clean: Tidy and clean ( acceptable) Price: Reasonable Taste: authentic dim sum restaurant. All handcrafted Chinese dim sum serving here. Very local, super yummy. Beware that the staff will pass you a bowl of hot water, with all chopsticks, spoons & little bowls to you. you need to wash all those items by yourself. All dim sum I tried today are super delicious. Definitely will come back again. Atmosphere: long line during lunch time, wait around 15 mins.

Probably the only hole in the wall in the world that opens at 3:00am and where there’s a queue at 4:30am for a seat. Not for the faint of heart as you’ll probably be sharing space with others at a crowded table while dining. The reward is you get high quality traditional dim sum with fresh ingredients hot off the steamer at an incredible bargain price. Great place to visit if you are jet lagged upon arrival in HK or after a night of full-on partying. The tripe, king siu mai, big steamed pork bun and chicken bundle are all recommended.

The food is good in general, quite traditional, and affordable. We came right before 5AM and it was already packed. We got a table inside the restaurant and couldn’t really view the buzz. Staff was still accommodating but really couldn’t cater to first time visitors queries because they were extremely busy. Probably better not to come on Sunday morning because many loud, semi drunk, and obnoxious youngsters come for breakfast. Lastly, some of the special dimsum were not available and not sure why especially because we came super early.

Small yet very hot and busy dim sum place at Kennedy Town The food is quite good, freshly made and yummy Service here is one type that very rare in Hong Kong now, 煙火氣&人情味 You can tell there are lot of neighbours/街坊 come, they just chat with service staff like old acquaintances Will sure revisit for their food and the special vibes

Good food & reasonable price, however, can't sit too long because it's hot & noisy. Try all the famous dim sum in this shop and it's good

Best place to have traditional style of dim sum where you can't get it in normal restaurants. Do go there early or before 11am though! It's super crowded but it's worth it! It's around this time that there will be fresh dim sums coming out from the kitchen so be sure to yell out whenever dishes come out from the kitchen! I think part of the fun is this order in chaos

The best dim sum restaurant in town, on the island side anyway. Everything is freshly made and they bring you the most authentic taste of traditional Canton dim sum. The shrimp dumplings, Malay sponge cake, deep fried milk and the milky custard bud are my favorites, just to name a few. You will need to keep your ears on what are coming out right from the kitchen while stocks last. You are recommended to spare time to queue up regardless you are going to takeaway or dine in as this is a busy place around the hours.

One of the best dim sum places in town. Of course, some dishes are better else well but the overall quality, price and authentic ambience here are quite unbeatable. Must-try’s include Malay steamed cake, water chestnut dumpling, and tripe. Tip for those who don’t speak Cantonese: screen print/save the images of the dishes you want to try and show them to the staff.

Delightful, delicious HK dim sum cuisine despite the environment is a bit crowded and poor sanitation.

Totally local and HK style type of dim sum joint. It’s a very local Kennedy Town sorta experience place for dim sum. Be prepared for not so “sterile” experience. The food there is great though! They make their dim sum fresh (you can see two older gentlemen rolling the Har Gau) and they shout out the dim sum’s name as it’s shay-shed across the store. The waitress are super cute (for my standards) as they are older aunties who love a good banter in Cantonese. Word of advice, bring your own tissue.
