We ordered the roast beef and lobster lunch, got onion soup and lobster bisque, and a couple of oyster. Beside the oysters, everything was divine. I honestly think the portion could fit 2 people. The appetisers and dessert offer great variety. There is a private room for 8 -12 people, minimum charge is $1000 per head. Would come again for family gathering.

It was a 3 couses lunch with friends. Cosy interior and very polite staff. Most food was sophisticated and well prepared. The slow cooked pork belly was a very nice surprise. However, the fish and lobster dish we had were a little disappointing...and...Coffee needs to be improved too...😜...Sorry, I love my coffee...haha

Excellent prime rib. It's an interesting decision to cut and serve right in front of the guests (another famous prime rib place serves near us but not directly for us to see). We were the first table to get prime rib for the evening so they carted over a whole piece with 2 ribs and I was ecstatic! Somehow I thought we would each get 1 rib but a big piece of the edge is cut away and then 1 rib was cut for 2 servings. Although it's more than enough food for us, it feels bad to see portion size get reduced if you know what I mean. Also, the 2 pieces weren't cut straight so one person definitely got more than the other. Either way, the meat was cooked perfectly as we like and remember to eat fast before the fat coagulates. The mashed potato, hash brown, creamed spinach were subpar and the starters/salad definitely aren't worth it. Will come back for the bread and prime rib for sure. Pro tip! If you celebrate your birthday here, they serve these little ice cream balls dipped in chocolate. A really nice surprise ending to an awesome meal!

I took my beef-obsessed partner here for his birthday and he said it was one of the best meals he's had in the past few years! They had said brunch was booked for the next 4 months, so I booked dinner (and requested the prime rib in advance). There are a lot of theatrics, like flambéing the lobster bisque and carving the prime rib table-side, but they're not just for show, as the food tastes great too. Everything from the oysters to the creamed spinach was fresh and carefully made. And they clearly place a lot of importance on food temperature based on the way they serve everything. Actually my favorite part was the croissant rolls in the bread basket. Crispy on the outside, and warm, soft, and buttery on the inside. I would've gladly agreed to the refill they offered, but didn't want to fill up before our orders came. The servers were pleasant, well-mannered, and attentive. And the vibe is cool too, with dark wood rafters, swords, and knight armor among the decorations. Because it was my partner's birthday, they also surprised us with some chocolate bombes filled with homemade ice cream, and some other chocolates. Free 3-hour parking was the cherry on top. Two small areas for improvement - the service was a bit slow (although the restaurant was just a little over half full and they seemed well-staffed), and the red onion tart tatin could have used more flavor. But these are minor points in the grand scheme of the whole experience. This is an expensive restaurant even by typical fine dining standards, but I'm happy to pay top dollar for my partner to have such a nice experience on his birthday!

(Translated by Google) Come and enjoy a lunch with your family during the holidays. After you sit down and order, you will first get a meal bag, including onion bag, garlic bag and baguette. One is delicious. Although the waiter can add it, but in order to eat the appetizer, main course and dessert, they will push it. Lost. I was greedy, ordered the appetizer, and gave up borscht. The appetizers include mango shrimp, spanish ham, crab legs, burdock, etc. I still want to ask if they can be added, but unfortunately not, because there is not much "space". The main course is the top American beef rib meat. I like to eat five mature and delicious. But compared to the original Boston lobster platter chosen by the family, it is slightly overshadowed. In the dessert, Napoleon and Opera cake are really delicious, and sliced fruit is really satisfying.

Celebration good choice. Decoration use more wood and bright environment with yellow light feeling high end traditional western restaurant. Food quality no problem many year experience cooking chef. The roast beef especially end cut will personal like. the appetizer cart is very wonderful choice for what your want to select. finally the dessert is very happy to made by yourself to choose. everything is perfect must very high end price. Many year Hugo can keep the very good standard service and quality.

Amazing 4-dishes course with great service. They accidentally served a wrong main dish to us but replaced with a correct one and treat us extra dessert. The course started with a surprisingly delicious chestnut soup, the foie gras with tender loin was an amazing pairing, and signature desserts one after another made a great ending to the amazing dinner. Both food and services worth the money.

Hugo's brunch goes for limited choice of items but do them all very well. At hkd788 per person before +10pc this is at the more expensive end of buffet and you will find there is no sashimi for example and really only one hot dish in the form of an ordered main course. However all cold items are of good quality and the roast beef was stunning. Worth a try.

love the weekend brunch here, must order the roast beef, it's their signature, be reminded to pre order it at least a day before, or it will be sold out!

  • 4/5 Gary L. 3 years ago on Google
Came here exclusively for the prime rib. It was juicy and tender, but on the bland side. It needs more seasoning (on the outside). And it was a long wait for some reason. I didn't see anyone else ordering it. And I had put it in my reservation note so they'd know in advance. Good professional service. The server wasn't very good at pouring wine -- dripped all over the table cloth. But he quickly covered it up with a small napkin, switched my bread plate (a few drops got on there), and apologized. There was big spots on the cloth he used to wipe the bottle after each pour. Precious $ wasted!

It's quite a decent dining experience. A few dishes we ordered were actually prepared in front of us. I love the oysters, soup and dessert. Steak and beef tenderloin are above average. But the chocolate they served after the dessert is way too sweet and a bit disappointing.

Great food as always. Sea bass or Prime rib are a must! One minor complaint. They removed the mango shrimp salad from the appetizer cart. They should bring back!

Service and food are both top notch. At most all of the food at the Sunday brunch counter tastes good with a rare few items you can skip. At least oysters were really fresh and crisps, lobsters were not overcooked and the liver pate was excellent. Of course, their roast beef prior rib is still the best and a must try

The prime rib is really an excellent dish. It’s not just about the meat and tenderness, but also the service and other ingredients.

Lunch time is the best, never disappointed. The sale , the main course, the desert is everything. If you have the HSBC signature visa , there would be 15% off. Only 600 a lunch , seems expensive but it is really worthy. The service is excellent!!!!! Will recommend and revisit again !

The orange crepe was amazing. It was not too sweet and with great orange aroma. I think dessert was highlight of the night. Chicken was surprisingly tender and moist. Lobster bisque was flavourful. The garlic was also good. Steak and sides were lackluster. Waitress was nice. They also run credit card promotions. AE has 15% off. It's probably worth checking what cards are running promotions The ladies' room was horrendous. Not only is it old, it is also mouldy. It also has a really bad odor that some actually left immediately after they came in

Ambience similar to 40 years ago. Pastries especially the baguette is not quite up to standard, crust not crispy and inside not soft. Lobster bisque just warm, quality of appetizers from trolley were not as outstanding as before. Roasted prime ribs is average. The best are the desserts. Overall, the $800 plus per head lunch was below expectation.

Our second visit here. The prime rib and escargots were still my favourites, and this time we had the chef himself to serve us the cut of the prime rib. The atmosphere was intimate and classy. The staff were professional - attentive yet not intrusive, leaving enough privacy for guests. Will definitely come again.

The oyster was seem not in season, seem a bit on the small side. The lobster bisque 🦞 was great and tthey made it in front of the customer it was a good show. The beef was very peppery. But deliciously made. The service was hit and miss, selective members was up to hotel standard but some are very below standard. Overall worth a try.

I'm here to celebrate anniversary and the atmosphere was good. The waiter and waitress were so nice and professional that will introduce you different suitable paring wine and what ingredients of the dishes. I had told them I was celebrating anniversary they had specially prepared celebrating cake for us and help us taking photos.

This has to be among the most under-appreciated and unsung restaurants in HK. The service is impeccable. The menu is unimaginative but I don’t mean that in a negative way. It’s full of traditional, worldwide favorites and more importantly, served in table-side preparations that are fun and delicious. Really impressive experience. Romantic setting but totally solid for business dinners too. Dine on days of delicious Chinese cuisine but when you’re looking for something western, Hugo’s is a perfect oasis.

A medieval armoured soldier welcomed guests at the entrance. Everything from the cutlery to the hors d'oeuvre trolley were by Christofle. Staff were attentive and service was meticulous. Guéridon service was deployed to serve roast beef and prepare crêpes suzette and possibly many other dishes. Roast beef portion may be too big for Asians.

Went to Hugo's for a birthday brunch great call that. It is an amazing restaurant set in the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Tsim Sha Tsui Hong Kong. The appetizer is a buffet style with mostly season and some delicacy meats. Then the main course I had was a melt in your mouth roast beef with carrots and baked potato. Do yourself a favour don't fill up on bread. But do try the garlic bread! Anyway definite 5 star experience.

Place to go for that spoil yourself Brunch experience. Signature Western restaurant of the original Hyatt Regency, Hugo's was recreated for the new Hyatt. It comes with the original suit of armour guarding the entrance. Hugo's is a trip back in time to what a classic European restaurant used to be. Not here to complain about the food (which was enjoyable the few times I've been before) but to complain about the lack of service from both the Hyatt Recency "operator" and Hugo's themselves. Tried to book a table but Hugo's were not answering and the operator picked up saying they will refer my call and that I would receive a call back about any availability. Two hours later, I had to call Hugo's again, still "busy" of course, so the operator had to keep trying and failing to put me through. Eventually got there and the reply was there were no availability, which is absolute fine, but when I enquired why I didn't receive a call back, their reply was "the operator only just relayed the message to us!" with no hint of apology whatsoever. Not the service you would expect from a five star hotel and a restaurant within the said five star hotel.

Good old fashion fine dinning kind of place(not Gaddis HEAVY fine) The old team has retired and now with younger team serving. Food is not a modern take in terms of taste and plating, but is a good learning trip that how good food used to be prepared before. Afterwards, one would appreciate and understand the evolution of the modern approach in cooking. ☆Btw, don't think Jimmy's Kitchen like. Hugo's is proper western cooking
