High ceilings with beautiful decor. Big windows and live music. They were playing Phantom of the Opera, and it definitely my thing. The scones were dense and the raisins overpowered the strawberry jam. I would prefer clotted cream over butter, but that's just my preference. The presentation was nice. Service was alright, it would be better if the servers were a bit more attentive. It took awhile before someone came to our table to take an order and to give us the bill. Overall, it's a nice experience if you've never had afternoon tea before.

The hotel is just excellent! The lobby is so nice and I tried breakfast here. It is a five course breakfast, the fruit salad is fresh, the granola is crispy and fresh, the crossiant is very fluffy and crispy, just freshly baked! And the French toast is so good with apple crumbles, yummy! The scramble egg is smooth and the sausages are hand made. Nevertheless, the earl grey is really smooth and the cappuccino is quite ok. Love the French toast and the five star service!

I love the atmosphere and interior of this lobby, it is unique and classic with live music, very chill. The tea set is around eight hundred something for two which is reasonable. Each person would have four pieces of finger food and four pieces of cakes plus two pieces of scones. The finger food is ok , while the cucumber sandwiches is quite tasty. The cakes are spectacular! They are so good and won’t be overly sweetened. The scones are good too , nice pairing with clotted cream and jam. Nevertheless the tea is really smooth and nice. Overall we had a good time.

Disappointing Festive afternoon tea is our family tradition since 2010. The quality taste wise is going down. The set looks great but the whole experience is not amazing in terms of food apart from the scones which are still fantastic The tea selection used to be exhaustive but now is quite limited. We were served a foie gras terrine but no spoon to eat it with. When we asked for a spoon, we were told to use the same spoon as for the strawberry jam and cream... weird, 5 stars service really?? The setting of the afternoon tea remains stunning and makes it an unforgettable experience. Let's hope the Peninsula makes the food a bit more memorable next time.

My friend had an afternoon tea reservation for her birthday. I've had lunch here a few years back, but not sure if I've tried the afternoon tea. Nevertheless I was excited to experience this. The lobby is on the ground floor, so there's step free access. Note, there are no restrooms on the ground floor, you need to take the stairs up or the lift to the first floor. I was surprised and disappointed to hear, you only just one choice of tea and there are no fresh refills. Traditional afternoon tea usually allows you to explore the different types of teas available and is included in the price. I opted for the breakfast tea, it was nice but nothing to write home about. The metal three tier then arrived, looked so pretty and divine, they were thoughtful in adding a candle and birthday plaque for my friend which added a nice touch. Sadly, it was all show and no substance. Actually we had to have it changed as a fruit fly was lingering and flew underneath a pastry. I don't think the staff appreciated me calling this out and immediately wanted it changed, how unfortunate. The scones looked overdone, the pastries didn't taste great, too sweet and lacked flavour. The sandwiches were ok but again, nothing special and I've certainly had better in London. No wonder other tables just ordered a normal lunch and swerved away from the afternoon tea. Shocked again at the fact you can't ask for complimentary sandwich refills or choose other teas. This is one of the reasons why afternoon tea is unique, it allows you to explore and try other tea leaves. The tea sieve was unclean and not able to strain the teas and staff didn't seem that attentive. Not sure I'd recommend or revist.

Personally I love the interior decoration of the Lobby and the live music there. We spent a great afternoon from 3-6pm enjoying the music and relaxing time. However The afternoon tea is not as good as expected. The scone is ok but the rest is just very average if this is charged this price. I asked the waiter and he said the afternoon tea is British style this round so they have used green pea as the ingredient for one of the green coloured soup. We took a sip but couldn’t finish the soup as a bit fishy. They will change the menu from time to time. I look forward to another menu and will come back again.

It's a nice place for fine dining or special day celebration! Especially for those who like the nostalgic and splendid environment. The whole course of dishes they served were delicious and in good quality; yet, the overall services and the manner of servers were just okay (maybe my expectation was too high).

The food and service both could be better. Overall not bad, just not 5 stars.

Really good service, phenomenal place, but the afternoon tea was good although not exceptional if you compare it with Pan Pacific for example. Some of the food was really lovely (chocolates, entrées) but the apple cake and sandwiches were average. The vegan option was fine, but nothing to remember. The atmosphere is exceptional though and the place beautifully made with a great sense for service quality.

Very fancy five stars hotel. Have lunch at The Lobby, the only problem was the table was a bit small for three people having lunch. Have to move things around to fit all the dishes. It is more suitable for afternoon tea. Since it is located in the lobby you have people walking pass while you eat.

I tried the tea set which is so good! The best that I had so far, whether the salty snacks nor the cakes, both are very delicious! The scone is the top three that I had, it is crispy outside, soft inside, yummy! And the breakfast tea is so smooth, it goes very well with the tea set, highly recommended!

Offering above average food offering, service and great atmosphere with live music and singers at balcony. Waiters at station taking of my wife and I well throughout the dinner with precise timing on serving each plate (maybe due to the low volume of traveler to HK?). Can tell they are using fresh vegetables and well handled spawn which the taste of sea is well preserved. Bread is well baked with the appropriate soft level make me to keep biting and start another one. This dinner is redemption of coupon obtained by Cathay Pacific Airways miles exchange program.

The afternoon tea set doesn’t surprise me at all, everything was pretty basic. This definitely not the place for you to sit down quietly and enjoy your afternoon tea as there are lots of tourists “checking in” in the tearoom. Overall it wasn’t bad but do not expect anything much.

Booked a table for four one month in advance, so I assume we will get good seatings. However our table is located next to the entrance, where u can feel the breeze from the main front door, just a bit chilly while sitting all night long. Our food is good, excellent lemon tart and I love the interior design (instagramable). Staffs are friendly, helpful which I really appreciated. They are also very busy, therefore u won’t get immediate response.

Excellent afternoon tea experience. Desserts and scones with strawberry jam are of superb taste and quality. Live music adds to the overall vibe.

Second visit for club sandwich and cocoa milkshake First visit has been back to 13 years ago. The club sandwich was copacetic that with my family enjoying such a wonderful high tea again was the primary priority of future travel in Hong Kong. Waiting for 40 minutes when arriving because of no reservations available during our stay. Four of us had twin set high tea, milkshakes, and one club sandwich, plus a soufflés. We really enjoyed tea time with shining tableware, musicians band and ambient light. Chocolate milkshake was delicious yet costly as same as 5-dollar-milkshake that Mia had in “Pulp Fiction”. My favorite part of club sandwiches was savory bacon that catalyzed each distinct layered flavor. 3-tier tea desserts was a signature must-have. English scones at the bottom, savory appetizers in the middle and delicate desserts on the top. Everything is gorgeous here and everyone deserve indulgent themself a hight quality tea time.

Our fourth time having an afternoon tea at the lobby. Even though we kept on going back here for a high tea or staycation, we’re still in awe every-time we look at the ceiling. Service is unmatched and food is great. I wish that the tea arrive before the third time we asked for it. Nonetheless, it’s still a fantastic experience!

If talking about the atmosphere that It's the style of the Peninsula. Airy, large hall, good music, suitable for sipping tea lightly.

I visited for Afternoon tea. There is a selection of teas to choose from with a hotel chosen selection of 3 savoury and 6 sweet small bites. A live musical ensumble plays a selection of tunes from an overhead balcony. The ambiance is great and presentation good. BUT we had a poor experience with service! After delivering the tea and plate, our table was invisible to staff! Not only were we missed every time an additional petit fours was offered to adjacent tables, but even arranging to pay the bill was extremely hard! We requested it 4 times over 30 minutes before finally getting it. Waiting staff were difficult to attract and we did notice a bill being presented to a table who protested they hadn't requested it. Not sure why our table was 'invisible'. Possibly it was an additional table not normally included as we were next to the main entrance. Or perhaps the hotel was understaffed? Though other tables seemed to attract better service. Overall, nice setting but let down by inattentive service. Not what you expect from a 5 star hotel.

Absolutely overrated. Joined the fly and dine programme. We didn’t have the tea set but go for all carte. Food choices were limited, none of our choices were available. Should hire more staff, we waited for a fork for over 15 minutes and needed to follow up on our orders multiple times. Peninsula should do much better than this.

20 days ago I had my lunch at Peninsula as a surprise for my birthday. The Lobby is amazing for interior decoration and live music. The food is fresh and tasty. The service is impeccable. Staffs are friendly and courteous. Special thanks to Peter who is a part time staff. His kindness and good service made our day so memorable. Even the part time staffs in the restaurant can provide high standard of service, this must be a good restaurant.

A sample of hk style of space efficiency, The Peninsula turned an otherwise open lobby into tables for fine dining. The selection was not big, but everything tasted top notch. Cocktail was on the spot. Food was made to order. Dessert was well balanced. Amazing service overall, as one would expect from a 5 star venue. I would recommend ordering the extra side dishes if you have above average appetite, as the portions can be small for some. Otherwise an excellent choice for small party dining.
