This place is just a unique experience, you feel going back in time. Nothing seems to have changed there for decades. It's victim of its popularity though, when we got there the place was packed but it really contributes to the authentic vibes of the place ! You just go and pick any dim sum that looks good to you. Be quick as you have to follow waiters to grab it ! It's like a dim sum treasure hunt. Lot of choice and quality is fine for the price. We sat with locals and ate with them and had a great time there. Go there at least once, it's worth the stop.

A very traditional Chinese restaurant with the decorations from the early 60’s . Tea was served in the old ways like 50 years ago . Time was frozen here . All dishes and Dim sum were prepared in a traditional way . Very worth a visit no matter for a quick lunch or a delicious dinner .

An iconic tea house between Central and Sheung Wan. It’s pretty much on every list on social media as a place to visit when you’re in Hong Kong. The dim sum is good, but the main reason to be here is to get a sense of what HK used to be.. There’s nothing fancy here just solid dim sum at a reasonable price. It’s old school trolly service where you need to chase the servers to get the dishes before they run out. There aren’t many places like this left so if you get a chance I’d recommend this as an experience. Oh and make sure you have your order sheet when you approach the server to get your food they can be a little impatient.

Visited this place for the first time on the 8th August, 2022. It’s really sad to find out that the Lin Heung Tea House has become history the next morning. I enjoyed my time here, and was really lucky to have visited here on that day. Thank you, and good bye!

A trip into the past, such a nostalgic restaurant. The food is really good and I can understand why it's such a popular spot. Not the friendliest staff but they're quite efficient. Highly recommend.

This restaurant is definitely worth visiting, but prepare to plunge into the old traditional Hong Kong ambience. The place is crowded, noisy, even chaotic and not very clean. However, the food is delicious and relatively cheap. Seats at lunch are hard to find, so hope to be seated at a table with another company. The staffs speaks only basic English. The traditional dim sum offerings are available at lunch only and you will have to chase the old lady with the cart to pick something (bring your paper slip with you). The restaurant accepts credit card, but not always - I succeeded in paying with a Visa at a dinnner, but not at lunch.

9 decades of Dim Sum Surprising old restaurant with typical way to wait for a table and having the food passing by in a trolley to ask what there is in it. The food steams beautifully and taste good. Finally thank you very much for retrieving my phone 😅

Classic classic Hongkee dim sum joint It can’t be more traditional than this one unless you can rewind time It’s traditional from top to bottom = location entrance decoration furniture the staff self service taste quality food choices cashier payment method etc… Forget the menu just hunt down the food that you want to eat Forget the service staff just get where you want to sit what you want to eat all by yourself. That’s how it works here

Good food, authentic experience. This place still runs on push carts and have many old staff serving here. They seem trying to keep the tradition going, and with very affordable prices!

This place gives you the best experience of Hong Kong. A lot of people eating dim sum from 6 am and reading news, a lot of food to fight for by following the carts with food on them. Very authentic place, I am happy that I was part of it

In the past (at least before COVID), the food quality here is much better than now, and the dining atmosphere is dimming. The taste, appearance and food quality for their most traditional dishes such as stuffed duck, chicken port belly kebabs, sago pudding, baked egg with worm....degraded dynamically. Maybe because of this, their seat are now always empty. Fortunately, they remain their original traditional decorations and designs, and the interior view still worth for a visit, if you are looking for the vintage style

One of the most authentic and traditional yum cha places in town Quite enjoy the neighbourhood atmosphere where you might unintentionally sit between those old buddies who enjoy newspapers and food here Tips is that if you see anything you wanna try, don’t wait and just get it, later soon it’s gone!

Nostalgic old Hong Kong style dim sum restaurant. Whiles the atmosphere is chaotic and overwhelming, this adds to the experience of how dim sum restaurants were traditionally served. When you enter and there’s no one to assist you, you could just help yourself to any available seats as seen (likely to be sharing tables with strangers) and then ask for tea of your liking. Dim sum carts are still pushed around which you could ask the ladies to kindly show you what they have available. Surprisingly the food are decent (honestly thought here will be some kind of tourist trap with the decor gimmick servicing just mediocre food) but don’t expect much to have comfy seatings or service, worth trying. My favorite was the 馬拉糕 (sponge cake) still made the traditional way 👍

This was one of the 4 biggest Chinese restaurant for dim sum. Lots of things are remaining old. Tables, chairs, the birdcage (w/ fake birds), staffs (I guess average age around 55), and the taste of food. It was not easy to find a seat before covid. Normally it needs to share table with others. It was also not easy to get dim sum that you want. Since the traffic of tourist is much bigger than the food supply, it’s like you got to get whatever they offer or keep waiting at their kitchen door and get at the 1st time when they offer new dim sum. Have to say thank you CoVID. It don’t need to share table anymore and much easier to get their dim sum. It was a bit hot these days. Their air con is still not strong enough to balance the hot generated by their hot PoLi tea and steam from dim sum. But have to say the environment is much more comfort compared with the past. The food is fine and they are keeping some very old style dim sum that were not usual in other restaurants. You have to prepared that what you spent is including the memory and the old style experience. Recommended if this is new to you, or you really have special memories that you want to recall.

Had a bunch of dimsum that sent me straight to heaven. Claypot rice was great. Recommend for the dimsum cart experience. Servers are a little impatient - make sure you keep the order sheet with you.. crowded and you will share a table with strangers.

Really good traditional Hong Kong dim sum place. One of the oldest in the island too. They are really busy and you will need to get to the cart and not the other way around to get your food. Be prepared to be disappointed if you couldn't get what you want from the cart or not fast enough to get to the cart quickly before the horde of hungry people swarmed the cart. Enjoy your time and don't rush, drink the tea slowly, have good conversation and eat the dim sum slowly, that's how the local do it.
