American
Steakhouse
experiences
are
a
real
hit
or
miss
in
Hong
Kong
and
will
always
cost
quite
a
bit
compared
to
peers
in
western
countries.
This
reality
includes
what
you
can
expect
at
Ruth's
Chris
in
TST
as
well.
Some
have
reported
great
meals
here.
However,
what
we
experienced
recently
was
a
very
average
steak
dinner.
Opening
hours
are
12-3pm
(lunch)
and
5.30-11pm
(dinner)
daily.
Reservations
are
recommended
if
you
want
to
dine
at
Ruth's
Chris,
you
can
do
so
on
their
website
or
through
Chope.
Dining
environs
are
not
bad,
dark
wooden
walls
and
tables
spaced
out
very
well.
Service
is
very
friendly
and
attentive.
They
try
hard
but
are
less
fluid
and
natural
to
what
you
might
expect.
As
for
drinks,
we
ordered
an
old-fashioned
that
was
mediocre.
Served
with
a
glass
way
too
full
of
small
ice
chunks,
the
whisky
cocktail
was
served
very
sweet.
This
wasn't
not
a
good
old-fashioned
at
all.
Glass
of
Bourdeaux
served
tasted
fine
although
we
would
have
preferred
for
them
to
have
poured
the
glass
at
the
table.
This
a
norm
at
nice
restaurants
around
the
city
but
not
something
they
seem
to
do
at
this
Ruth
Chris.
During
our
meal,
we
had
the
fillet
and
the
petite
fillet.
The
good
news
-
they
were
grilled
perfectly
at
medium
rare
temperature.
The
beef
colour
and
texture
was
spot
on.
Steaks
were
properly
served
in
a
plate
of
sizzling
butter
as
well.
As
such,
when
it
comes
to
the
grilling
and
preparation
of
our
steaks,
everything
was
just
fine.
The
not
so
good
news
-
unfortunately
both
steaks
were
surprisingly
flavourless.
Taste
was
improved
by
the
butter
but
we
were
surprised
at
the
lack
of
natural
flavour
of
these
fillet
cuts.
Sadly,
they
didn't
seem
to
have
salt
flakes
at
Ruth
Chris
as
well.
We
were
given
traditional
shakers
with
iodised
salt
only.
Proper
salt
flakes
could
have
improved
our
fillets.
A
quick
note
as
well
that
the
sides
of
potato
gratin
and
Brussel
sprouts
were
just
fine.
In
the
end,
not
a
terrible
steak
dinner
but
not
particularly
impressive
either.
There
were
many
shortcomings,
and
frankly
speaking
-
not
good
enough
fillets
for
the
prices
being
charged,
to
recommend
this
Ruth's
Chris
in
TST.
There
are
much
better
options
for
those
who
enjoy
fillet
mignon
or
larger
tenderloin
steaks
in
Hong
Kong.
