I had the unfortunate experience of staying at the Royal Plaza Hotel, and let me tell you, it was a complete disappointment. I cannot believe they call this place a hotel. Here are some of the terrible aspects of my stay: Room Size: The rooms are incredibly small! It's like they tried to see how many people they could cram into a closet-sized space. Absolutely no room to move around comfortably. No Bottled Water: Can you believe it? They don't provide bottled water in the rooms. You're left with the unappetizing option of drinking tap water. It's 2023, for goodness' sake, and they can't even provide a basic amenity like bottled water? Dirty Bathrooms: The bathrooms are not only small but also dirty with black mold. It's clear that cleanliness is not a priority for this so-called "hotel." Dated Decor: The decor is ancient and tired, like a time capsule from the '80s. The furniture looks like it's been passed down for generations, and not in a good way. The only redeeming quality is the location. It's in a somewhat decent area, next to the shopping mail but not much else. Easy walking distance to MongKok and fish street. But that's where the positives end. They don't even offer breakfast or room service. I'm still not convinced this place is actually a hotel. I've had better accommodations in budget motels. Avoid the Royal Plaza Hotel at all costs unless you want to experience the epitome of disappointment.

It's my second day of a 2 week stay. The room layout is above average. I needed a desk to work and the desk space is sufficient. I used the extra sitting area next to the window more often than I anticipated. It looks over the vacant pool so it's nice. Now here are a couple of callouts. Cleanliness. The carpet is not cleaned. Around the bed sides, there are quite a few bundles of hair. Long hair. I think this can be easily addressed. It would be nice to have a microwave or a coffee machine in the room.

Wanted to give 5 star rating but when we went in the room, found short hair in the toilet sink, floor mat had small black marks and toilet seat had small stain marks but otherwise the room was clean and comfortable, we ordered 2 double beds as we had 2 adults and 2 kids. Above all the beds, service and food was absolutely wonderful which i thought during cny they would be short handed but no! Housekeeping was fast when we called for extra towels and front desk service was very efficient. The location was splendid, just a walk to mtr and food options are readily available throughout the walk to the mtr. Definitely a top choice for those wanting convenience and big rooms! Those with big families should take this hotel!

Royal Plaza Hotel in Hong Kong was a fantastic choice for my stay. Its great location provided convenient access to various attractions and transport links. The service was exceptional, with staff going above and beyond to ensure a comfortable and enjoyable experience. The value for money was outstanding, offering luxury and quality at a reasonable price. Overall, Royal Plaza Hotel delivered a top-notch experience, making it a highly recommended place to stay in Hong Kong.

Good: Room size is big with big bathroom. Bad: 1. Encountered check in staff impolite. Upon check out, enquiry about luggage storage, another staff also impolite, without looking at me at all and point me to concierge area. Think it is not only individual staff problem, it is the culture of a 5 star hotel problem. We didn't expect to treat as if we are at a 2 star hotel. 2. The room door can't open fully. 3. The air con minimum fan speed is at least 2 speed and the blower is noisy. 4. The room light is too dim. 5. The room is for 4 adults and only given 4 pillows, pity. 6. We have a window at level 8 and the view is 'fantastic'!!! It is a walkway and no view. We have to put down the blinds whole day as if we are in a lousy hotel!!!. Totally not worth to pay a 5 star hotel rate. This is our first and last time staying here.

I booked this hotel on behalf of my parents that stayed here for about ten days. The location is pretty good, being situated in Mong Kok East close to the various bars and restaurants. The room was lovely, as well as being a decent size (particularly based on Hong Kong standards) it was well furnished and decorated and offered a splendid street and park view, it was also high up so this complimented the vista! I was quite surprised and somewhat disappointed that the hotel only served breakfast at weekends and that there was only pricey restaurants and no bar to sit in and order a beer or a cocktail. However as previously mentioned there are some good bars just a quick walk out of the hotel. The hotel is placed within the MOKO shopping mall which is actually quite convenient as there are plenty of breakfast, lunch and dinner options ranging from bakeries, cafes and restaurants. The pool and fitness centre were of a high quality. I enjoyed swimming with my parents and relaxing in the jacuzzi. Thanks for a pleasant stay!

The hotel is located next to a big mall and there is train station next to the lobby which was very convenient It’s walking distance to shopping area flower street There is many restaurants and shops around super convenient The room is big anf spacious for ‘hong kong’ size hotel rooms There is even a bath tube in the toilet!!! The rooms is alittle ‘old styled’ but it is cleaned and is renovated recommend to stay if you are in hongkong The only downside is the check in process is super slow but we did the robot check out when we left

A big shout to the concierge staff, Don, who was very helpful and nice by assisting us to manage the 'robot' check-in machine. Room size is perfect for small family. Room is clean and well maintained. Mattress is good comfort which it isn't too soft or hard. The room ventilation is pretty good as well and wouldn't too dry. And, the sound proof is excellent! You couldn't even hear walking steps or door slamming, or even people talking next to your room! There's no water bottle given but installed with filtered water which is more convenient. Location wise, right above Mongkok East, where it isn't the best location as you need to switch train for twice in order to reach the Red line. Convenient as it is linked to Moko shopping centre. Big mall with everything you need. Good choice!

Booked the Family Grand Plus Room for 4 people (buffet breakfast included), HKD$350 each (so cheap for a public long weekend). -Check in is at 3pm, Check out is at 11am (extended to 1pm as a silver member on hotels.com). -The bathroom looks decent with the marble and simple design. -Overall room is spotless clean. The bedding is very comfy, which put me to very good sleep. -Buffet breakfast is till 1030, which is a bit early but the range of food choice is good, with many hot dishes.

Stayed here more than 35 days. Hotel is attached to Moko mall, East Mong kok metro station & bus stop, which will be so helpful to start a quick trip or even if you want to have a quick bite or even for shoping. The hotel is bit expensive but worthy for all the facilities. I loved the Gym and swimming pool facilities very much. You can start your day with gym and swimming. Later you can bath there only as the swimming pool has all the bathing and refreshing facilities to get ready for your day. It would be better if the hotel itself delivers the ordered food to your room. But the delivery food you need to pick for yourself from pickup place at loby. The Laundry cost is expensive here. All the facilities are very well here. And you can enjoy in room dining or royal plaza hotel restaurant also which is expensive. Else you can try lot of food specials at moko mall.

We stayed there for 7 days and they only included 2 x housekeeping (due to this being a promotional deal, the price we paid on our stay was not cheap) On the day of your check-in (was very tired already!!!) customer service requires me to decide which days of housekeeping service and you can't change the dates after. The housekeeping doesn't even work on weekends!!! Any additional housekeeping services like changing or getting more additional towels, request for toilet paper, shampoo, body wash etc an additional $200 charge EACH ITEM! So we have to really watch out for the usage of all room hygiene supplies (which is quite stressful over vacation time)!!! For a 5 stars hotel (they stated) this is not even a 2 stars service. And because of this policy, I will not recommend this hotel or come back again for my future stay!

Hotel is newly renovated. The room I got can fit 4 pax. But the walk way in the room is very narrow. We only dislike the toilet door as it cannot be locked. Swimming pool design is odd. Water will run on you when you enter. After you leave the pool to dry yourself, the entrance water cannot be switched off... So had to walk under the water again to leave the pool after drying... Water bottles are not provided in the hotel for free. You can refill water in the toilet. Is not a good design. If someone using the toilet, you have to wait. There are only 2 cups provided.. You cannot takeaway water, have to buy one bottle to keep refilling it in the toilet. Hotel provide free wooden toothbrush.

Good Property - Location wise you have some trade offs” Location wise it is within the mall so you can just buy anything close and also within the metro. However the metro location is in Mong Kok East (light blue lane) which is most of the tourist attractions are in the red lane. Great place but if you want less commute take a property within the red lane.

Spacious room with big beds and toilet. Great to have different quality of pillow. Big swimming pool. Friendly staffs and cleaner. Busy hotel and strictly check in after 3pm. Location not in common tourist area and not along the main line of MTR but consider convenience attached with shopping malls that have plenty of shops and restaurants. Next to bus interchange and Mongkok East Station. Link bridge access to Mongkok area.

Pros: easy access to MTR , big room ,baby crib available , lots of good food around the area. For those people wants to clean their clothes -12min walk (24hrs laundry) Cons: 10days stays ( only included 1 time for changing the towels / toilet papers / cleaning etc) 200$hk additional for each day . Took the cab from airport to hotel 280$ hk. ( depending how many big luggages your putting in the trunk) billed per pcx .( 1 stroller , 2 luggage’s ) Overall was a great experience , the cleaning lady were nice enough to swap our towels time to time.

Other than the room having a little musty smell upon entering and no bidet spray , nothing to complain about. And special shout-out to the front desk counter man, Eric has been super meticulous, patient and helpful .

Everything about Royal Plaza Hotel was excellent. I stayed in their Family Room for five nights, highly recommended. From the first contact with their reservation team (fast, informative and so helpful). We arrived late in the evening, the reception and the concierge were fabulous. The location of Royal Plaza hit the spot, super convenience. Above all the staffs at Royal Plaza were one of the friendliest I encountered in Hongkong. Will be back again for sure.

My long term stay experiences in this hotel was impeccable. Clean rooms, helpful staff, wonderful amenities. I did not attend any of the restaurants, though.

Honestly was expecting big things but it was a letdown. The lobby was nice, with good service, however everything changes in the room itself. Firstly, pretty much all other 5 star hotels have room tidying services everyday whilst this is not offered here. The room itself was a lot smaller than the pictures and some of the aspects of the room were rather undesirable and dirty, such as the blinds to the shower and also the dirty floor. Additionally, the bathroom is not the best, with a shower you would expect in maybe a 3 or 4 star hotel. One good thing is the location, with convenient access to the shopping mall and metro station. The pool and other facilities are appreciated. All in all, compared to other 5 star hotels, this would be very mediocre but perhaps as a 4 star hotel, it would be rated higher.

While the hotel has all services and does a great job to the guest, the location is bit off the main tourist areas. The only thing we didn’t enjoy was that there were too many nonsense rules at the swimming pool; couldn’t take photo of family swimming, kids couldn’t do basic dive in. Too many stupid rules damages a great experience. Swimming is all about having fun, specially if you are with kids. When so many rules are enforced, then it loses all the fun factors. We understand if photos are not allowed of other swimmers, but taking photo of one’s one kid should be allowed. As long as you are not disturbing other swimmers, a gentle dive for kids should be allowed so kids can have a great swimming time. Hope the management looks into this request.

Big lobby. Efficient staff. Big room! Nice interior. Loved the bed and pillows. Finally fluffy feather pillows! Big bathroom as well, with all the necessary amenities. Strong and quiet AC. WiFi works OK, but you will lose connection from time to time. Hotel is located within the Moko mall which has everything you need. Elevators can sometimes be quite busy. Especially around check out time. There's drinkable water in the bathroom through a filtered water tap. They only have brittish outlets, so bring your travel adaptor. Taxi to and from airport cost around 280 HK Dollar

It was my first time to check in this hotel and it did not disappoint. Location is okay as it is connected to Moko Mall and MTR Station. The hotel reception hall was packed when we arrived. It took us more than half an hour to check in the hotel. The room is perfectly cleaned. Although we requested for a non smoking room, they gave us a smoking room but provided us with an air purifier which somehow helped. We stayed at the 19th floor which they called the family floor. It wasn’t as spacious but the view was great. The staff of the hotel were welcoming and friendly. We didn’t try their buffet since we always ate out. We didn’t see their pool either. Overall we enjoyed our stay at the hotel.

Nice bedroom on 19th floor with a view of the City. Only thing you have to lug your lugguage up one floor as the lift stops at 18th. Location is good, away from the noise from Mongkok but within close walking distance. Hotel is with the MOKO mall and lots of shopping and food at doorstep.

Good value hotel located at Mong Kok East Station, super convenient to get around. Check-in and out process is rather slow with an extremely long queue. Too many people and gets a little stressful. Only a total of 6 lifts for guests, making it a rather long wait to get up and down at such a big hotel. Rooms were well furnished but feels very dated and condition of rooms were not in good condition. In a 4 night stay, experienced a total of 2 incidents. 1) Aircon not working resulting in a long wait for staff to rectify before allowing us to change rooms. 2) choke toilet which then again had us contact front desk for help. Hospitality from the housekeeping staffs were good and ensured that room is clean every day so +1 star for that. Look for other hotels around the area before this. [September 2023]

This hotel is very conveniently located in Mong Kok East. It connects to the MOKO shopping center and Mong Kok East MTR station. It's also very central and connects easily to other stations in HK. When I arrived, I was greeted by friendly staff that continued to provide great service during my stay. For the English speaking travelers, their English is pretty decent. The lobby was nicely decorated, elevators were efficient. They also upgraded my reservation for free; I ended up staying on the Royal club floor, floor #19. Room was spacious, bathroom had a tub and walk in shower. I wouldn't say it's the cleanest hotel I've been to. Carpets we're definitely no vacuumed, some towels were covered in dirt and showers didn't look the greatest. In addition, I had electrical issues in my room and issues with my hotel access cards daily (was locked out of my room a few times) which were all resolved quickly. I overall enjoyed my stay, I'd come back for the location, friendly staff and pricing as it's not overly expensive.

Good location. Linked to mtr station, next to a mall(MOKO), special thanks to a kind staff ( Claire) who help us on ordering delivery. We do not have HK phone no, can’t order delivery , the mall is close after 10pm, thanks to her kindness my kids get some food… 🙏 Previously this hotel have room service (in room dining), now not available anymore. Movie need to pay extra, but becoming member can waived the fees . My kids loves the playground in the mall next to the hotel. 😍

Really fast checkin/checkout and service, I got two rooms, one had a really nice view, another had quite a boring one, it was just a wall, but the rooms were amazing. We asked for later checkout and they accepted. The pool & gym were really nice. Great location too, it's connected to a massive shopping mall with tons of shops and great restaurants. 10/10 recommend.

We spent our recent wedding anniversary staycation and had a great time. Warmly welcomed at the reception and to our surprised upgraded to the 19th executive floor room. The room is splendid both in size and given amenities including a Nespresso machine. Very large and comfy bed, great views over Mongkok city sky, superb bathroom, with bathtub and separate rainbow shower with all the expected bathroom amenities. The booked package includes free in room movie channel, breakfast and lunch buffet both served at La Scala. We used their wonderful and large pool facility. Great fun and very friendly staff. On the other hand, we had a bad breakfast experience. They offer two choices, either full Western or Chinese. We took the Dim Sum offer. Food arrived cold, had to return, twice, and the service is slow, which is strange with only three other tables occupied. A real pity. The lunch buffet on the other hand, is plentiful, good and enjoyable. We got a swift and fast professional check out. Bravo, we had an overall successful stay.

Book family room, hotel was so clean. And the room was cheap because it can used up to 4 person. Book for 6 days and room always clean everyday. Hotel next to mall and MRt station so we can easily shopping and eat. Definitely will stay at this hotel again later.

Been here many times. I find it to be one of the best. However, white I was in quarantine hotel, my nose allergy didn't act up for the 7 days there, but when I get to Royal Plaza, my allergy is back. Don't know what to say about that.

Excellent. It was a good stay because of the clean rooms. The view was great and so are the restaurants at the nearby moko shopping center. It is above a train station but I liked that you dont feel anything from the trains below. Transportation was easy and good recommendation for tourists or a staycation.

Excellent hotel service and facilities. It is connected to a great shopping mall with many nice shops and a large variety of restaurants. The MTR station and bus depot is right at the end of the shopping mall and it is also connected to a hugh skywalk network which is linked up to the whole Monkwok area. For sure I will stay in this hotel again when I am back in Hong Kong.

Building is old, room is small , old and has low ceiling , design is like 2 star instead of 5 star. Feel cheated. When the mall is closed, need to walk big round and downhill the hotel to get to food places.

Very nice hotel with amazing amenities. There are like 4-5 restaurants in the hotel and another maybe 50 in the connecting mall, Moko. However, there doesn’t seem to be any office or meeting rooms for private calls other than your own room. The staff are very polite and helpful and the hotel is overall very clean.

I went there with my family in 2019 back when I was still in highschool, and 4 years on I'm now in college and it's great so see that this hotel is still performing very well. Fantastic view, fantastic decorations, rooms and toilets are excellent and depending on the room you might get a superb view over the Kowloon Bay, perfect for sight-seeing or a nap next to the window on a hot day.

I love this hotel it's very easy to find because t was connected inside the mall,, 2 minutes walk from exit D mongkok east station The room is clean, big space.... I just experienced a little bit disappointment because someone just entered my room and I was shocked even though she used door bell and of course I did not reply because I did not ordered anything... And she suddenly opened the door and come inside twas terrible.... But anyway everything is good...

Not first visit. A good place to stay. Great hotel in a perfect location. Public transport and mall just next to hotel. Room was clean and spacious. Staff friendly and incredibly helpful especially Kitty from front desk. But a long queue during check in. Good value for room guests in hotel restaurants with special discount. Highly recommended for leisure stay.

Very good rooms but be mindful if you have availed breakfast or not. Also no bidets. Changing my rating from 5.0 to 1.0 as my parents reported experiencing bed bug bites after staying there.

We reserved the Plaza Deluxe - Family Twin Room which had 2 extra large double beds. These were similar size to North American Queen which is what we needed for our family. There was also a large bathroom with tub which is also great for young families. The location at Mong Kok East was right above Moko shopping mall and also close to lots of local shopping (Fa Yuen Street market) and restaurants. Only downside is the price is high but worth the value if you can afford it.
