The hotel has no porter service. When my taxi arrived at hotel with many suitcases, no staff came outside to help take a luggage. I had to move my luggage from the outside into the hotel one by one. After checking into the hotel, I asked for the porter support (as I have many luggage) but they asked me to do it myself! Luckily there was one trolley. I had to move all my luggage into the lift and then the hotel room - all by myself. As a frequent flyer, I stayed at many hotels in various places. This was the first time I had to move all my luggage into my hotel room without any hotel porter staff helping. This is truly amazing! Despite tons of negative impressions of this hotel, I found the hotel front desk staff very friendly as he helped me process the check in documents very efficiently and friendly. I had planned to stay at this hotel for a much longer term but I don’t think I will stay long here

Worse stay ever, hotel is old, room is not okay for a night stay. Cleanliness is barely acceptable. Wifi is useless, hot water is not hot, I can just turn on the hot water tap for a shower and still feels cold. Its January, temperature outside is less than 10 degrees at night and there is no heating in the room. Asked for extra quilt but was provided dusty blanket only. The only Good encounter is staff at the check-in desk, very polite, friendly and efficient in processing the check-in. Yet, I am sorry, I would not recommend this hotel.

Good: Soft comforter Strong water pressure in shower Hot water Free gym Nice pool Bad: Wifi is slow. The restaurants here charge outrageous prices for food. Rooms are old and dated, getting run down. Most ice machines don't work The hotel design is a maze. Have fun finding your room

I recently had a month-long stay at the Regal Riverside Hotel in Hong Kong, and unfortunately, I was left greatly disappointed by the experience. Firstly, there were no USB lines or adapters provided, and when I attempted to reach the front desk via the room's phone, there was no response. This made it difficult to charge my devices, which was quite inconvenient for a long-term stay. Furthermore, while I appreciate the hotel's effort to promote a plastic-free environment, no bottled water was provided. The equipment inside the room was outdated, and I felt uncertain about using the boiler and tap water due to their age and condition. My needs were also inadequately met by the hotel's service. Several requests for basic items such as an umbrella and scissors were denied. Even when I offered a tip for assistance with moving my luggage to my room, the help was not provided. Additionally, my request for a bathroom light repair was acknowledged but never acted upon. Consequently, I spent my final three days in the hotel bathing in the dark, as there was no window in the bathroom. Despite being managed by the largest hotel group in Hong Kong, the service and amenities provided by the Regal Riverside Hotel did not live up to expectations. The hotel's performance was a stark contrast to its reputation, and I hope my feedback brings about necessary improvements for future guests.

We had a wonderful stay here. Location was very suitable for us. Excellent connectivity. Room was large and spacious. Idea for long stays. Housekeeping was prompt. Staff was courteous. Highly recommend if you have work to do that side of the town.

I've been here in 3 different rooms, because I've go back and forth to China. Clean rooms, but the heater's not working, that'd be a problem for people who can't handle cold winter like me. Near from MRT (±5 minutes walking). Near from bus stops (there's bus from & to airport). There's one or two little convenience store near hotel, for daily necessity need. Plenty of restaurants near hotel, few still open over midnight, for always hungry people. 🤭

The hotel is old and the maintenance is poor, eg. bath room and toilet was not clean properly, air conditioning in the public area was not enough in summer. Standard has been dropped since my last stayed five years ago. Public transports are handy especially to and from the airport.

I was so disappointed by my stay here. From beginning to end the quality of the rooms, cleanliness and service were truly awful. I do not recommend this hotel. On arrival we were greeted by an enormous queue for checkin. I have no idea what they were doing or why it was taking two members of staff to check in each group…but it should not take upwards of ten minutes for an individual to check into a hotel. The lobby looked old fashioned and shabby. Our room absolutely stank of cigarettes, the windows and bathroom were filthy and there were rips in the bedsheets. We asked for a new room and, to be fair, we were given one immediately with no questions asked. This must happen a lot. The new room wasn’t clean either but at least it didn’t smell of cigarettes. We booked a package which included several extras: drinks, a tea set, a massage, breakfast…at every single step the hotel tried to charge us extra. I had to stand my ground each time and assertively show them my booking, after which they would ask me to go and speak to the front desk to get the matter dealt with. It was very frustrating and not the relaxing stay I had hoped for. The massage was pretty good but the spa is disgusting. The hot tub was closed - thank goodness as it was full of green mildew. The showers in the spa smelled of sewage and the floor was dirty. Breakfast was very poor. The noodle station looks as though it’ll give you food poisoning. We ended up going out for breakfast elsewhere. I would use the word “faded” to describe this hotel but faded from what? I doubt it was ever nice, but now it is shocking. Hotels in Hong Kong generally are of a very high standard…this isn’t one of them.

Title: Disappointing Experience Rating: ⭐ As a mother of a toddler, I value comfortable and clean accommodations when traveling. Unfortunately, my recent stay at this hotel fell far short of expectations. The hotel's age is evident throughout the property, and it's clear that maintenance has not been a priority. The bathrooms were not only dated but also emitted an unpleasant odor. Cleanliness was a major concern, as the rooms and common areas appeared to be poorly cleaned and maintained. Furthermore, the amenities were severely lacking. As someone who appreciates modern technology, I was disappointed by the absence of essential amenities that are standard in most hotels today. I would strongly advise others to stay away from this hotel until significant improvements are made to its infrastructure and overall condition. As someone passionate about uniting people, I believe that every traveler deserves a comfortable and pleasant experience, which unfortunately was not the case during my stay here. I hope the management takes these concerns seriously and invests in much-needed renovations and improvements to provide a better experience for future guests.

Dusty, dirty. Can u imagine seeing stain and torn pillow case, chilli on and inside the kettle, dusty TV, droplets of yellowish stain on counter top walls, smelly and dirty fridge. I booked the wrong hotel for my business trip this time. Called housekeeping second time when I found the chilli on the kettle, no one picked up, so finally I still boiled water using the kettle to eat my cup noodles… left the stain there.. yucky.

I stayed in this hotel for about a month. Rooms : Depending on the rooms you stay mine had two beds and a washroom. The beds were actually pretty comfortable. In the room there was also a white sofa it was decent since I’m pretty sure this hotel is kinda old so the sofa lacks puffiness and comfort. For the washroom however it was little dirty I had to wash it myself that’s normal in almost all the hotels, but the thing is when I approached and walked inside of the toilet there was a stinky smell of urine overall the room was quite nice and they come clean it every week. Beside the smell and the sofa it was overall good but they need to change the furnitures inside every room since it quite old. Location : I absolutely love the location of this hotel it super easy to grab food there’s restaurants all around the hotel and it like 15 minutes walk to get to the metro / mall in Hong Kong. Overall I give this Hotel a good 8,5/10 🏨🇭🇰

I stayed a few times in Regal Riverside because traffic is convenient. However, I was not satisfied with my stay last month. Room cleaning was terrible. I got several bed bug bites. I reported to the front desk, which they promised to clean the room. The staff is nice and offered to switch another room for me. However, after I switched to another room, the bathroom had a urine-like stinky smell. I complained about the smell, but there were no other available room. The only choice was to return back to the 1st room. In addition, the room condition and facility are very old. They need to replace the furniture. This is my last stay at this hotel!

The location is excellent because the nearby bus stop could find many routes to go to different places. The decoration of the hotel is "1980s" style while it is very clean and bright. The room is comfortable and bright enough. The stuff inside the room is useful and clean. If you stay on weekdays, the CP value is very high.

Very old and dated hotel, but this is reflected in the price. If it had a nice renovation with attractive, undated hardware, it would not be available at it's price. The pool is nicely size, of very dated design. Wish it wasn't shielded on three sides by the hotel building. Otherwise it's a decent, low key option to get away a little.

Ok for the price. Was probably pretty swish when first built, but feels very dated now and in need of a renovation. Long queues at check-in, and our initial room stank of stale cigarettes. Replacement room was better and was a decent size, with a comfy bed and decent curtains. The spa was very nice.

Large rooms, cozy. Great-affordable price. Nice views. For the price, this is good enough hotel.

The room was nice and large, not as convenient as other hotels nearby but there are small restaurants and a supermarket just around the corner.

Cockroaches. Everywhere. Large ones and small ones. Crawling on walls and tables. In the morning, there was one crawling on my bed. In one night we killed 6 of them. Bathroom is so dirty. Shower curtains are so old. I would recommend they need to renovate ASAP and don't stay there ever.

Very old hotel with insufficient maintenance. The room was very old, not very clean and the very badly maintained, the shower handle actually fell off... The lifts in the building was scary, I would need to press ground floor around 5~8 times before the lift would actually register (this happened for multiple lifts). One of the lifts in particular would always take me to the 7th floor no matter what button I press... And another lift had an issue with the door opening... In all, very expensive, very old and a very bad deal

Worst experience. The tv remote was not working so we are unable to stop the tv and sleep. The phone in the room is useless. No one lift the call. Emergency situations i can't think of how they handle. Very disappointing. The rooms are very old and smelly. Not worth for the money.

We spent 2.5 weeks at the hotel as a cheaper alternative to where we normally stay in ShaTin. Room is a good size and the bed was huge. Hotel is well located and served by several bus routes. Just a short walk to the main part of ShaTin and the MTR. The hotel is a bit dated but facilities are good, housekeeping can be a bit hit and miss (we had to ring for items which hadn't been replenished a couple of times). There are several good places to eat located within minutes of the hotel. Not a bad place to stay during your visit to HK despite the above minor issues.

Middle price comparison, room is comfortable and hotel sit on the river side, nice location, easy traffic, close by rail and sub way, bus, minutes bus, and a lot of taste food restaurants, beside hose tracks racing area. Temples. highly recommend

As expected of a hotel-attached restaurant. Food is decent, service is good and dining areas are clean and orderly. Wouldn't call it spectacular but not a bad place for lunch 👍🏻

Horrible services. Left my earrings in the room. Called both the front desk and concierge number as suggested on the phone 3 times yesterday and today. Nobody picked up. On the night when we stayed at the hotel, we used the phone in the room to call the front desk asking for 1 more pair of slippers as one of them got wet. Called 2 times and no one picked up too.

Convenient location. Easy access to food and grocery store nearby. Walking distance towards Shatin City Center. Cozy and spacey room in terms of HK standard. And it’s kind of old, you might notice some wear and tear of room decorations. But it’s definitely clean and tidy. We are staying in a 3 x single bed room. Using long stay plan over 14 night for official web. They do offer an unbeatable price. Hope this help.

I checked in to the long stay room yesterday, it has chips on the floor, the mugs are dirty, the tea spoon has coffee stains😲. The bathroom counter has hair. I asked the reception to send new mugs, the housekeeping lady came and said she cannot give me, I am supposed to wash them myself - okay fine, I cleaned the spoon that was used by previous guests myself - but if it is a brand new check in, aren’t she supposed to clean the room first before it is handed to a new customer?? The housekeeping lady’s (on 10/F) attitude is very poor and definitely the room is NOT cleaned enough for a hotel standard. I have to clean the floor myself which has chips from previous guests, it is very gross. It is very unfortunate, housekeeping is 0 star. The room itself is spacious and the location is good, so I give 2 stars.

In spite of the requirement to wear a mask in the hotel. All the staff were attentive, and went out of their way to be helpful. Especially Henry on reception and Douglas in the restaurant. My room was scrupulously clean, a fresh bale of fluffy towel each day with a generous supply of tea, coffee. milk, sugar and bottled water. The buffet breakfast food was excellent. Now the niggles. No shower point in the bathroom so I had to plug my shaver into a point on the telephone table. The tiled floor was very cold, a mat would have been nice. And the tv was in a bizarre position facing a mirrored wall. To watch the tv, there was no upholstered chair, just a kind of square box with two drawers. I either had to endure the bum ache or sit at a peculiar angle on the bed as the tv was anchored to the wall, not on a pivoting bracket. Enabling it to be swung out in any direction. My room was number 1749. However, I will be returning to Hong Kong next year. To stay in the same hotel. Hope all restrictions are gone!
