Front desk staff are friendly, nice room, good amenities, one of the best choice for staycation in HK.👍🏻 . Food wise, both lunch buffet and breakfast buffet are fabulous. Tons of choices and tasted good, wasn’t expecting that. Staffs are also super nice and efficient. 👍🏻 . However, room condition starting to feel a bit dated, might need an uplift soon. Another thing is swimming pool staff could be a little bit more friendly, they seem grumpy to every guests. 😳😳

Decided to give this hotel another try after an unpleasant first experience in 2018. Was pleasantly surprised that they still have records of my previous stay. Upon arrival, was greeted warmly by the doorman which already gave a very good impression. This time check in was smooth and time taken was reasonable. Front desk staff was polite and detailed in his explanation. The rooms we chose had a very pleasant harbour view and it’s great to wake up to such a beautiful view. Room service was excellent! Food was served warm and collected when we give them a call to collect so that the room will not smell of food. There was also a huge range of amenities given from bathroom necessities to electrical plug and more varied items were available free upon request. The only setback is that body lotion is given only once for a 3-night stay. Another problem is that we always return to an extremely cold room as the housekeeping team will set the air conditioner to 16 degrees celcius when they are done. It would be ideal if they set it between 22 to 24. However, the room has its plus points. It is spacious with a work table and a lounge chair. It also has a separate dressing area for ladies to put their make up. Moreover, MTR station is only a stone’s throw away. Overall, very happy with the stay and would recommend it.

The TV in the hotel room is too old and small. I think they need to upgrade to HD TV. The shampoo has no suds.I think this is strange. Also,my neck was painful after I slept there. I think it's because of the pillow.

Great hotel. Generous size. Rooms are bigger than most hk hotels. Decent view of the harbour and mountain. Very spacious bathroom with tub and robes. The layout of the room is very well designed for the business traveller. MTR station is conveniently next door.

I was checked in speedily to a nice, sizeable room with mountain views. This place was also close to my work so it meant I could have a longer sleep in the morning which was nice. The restaurant staff were helpful and I enjoyed the food. Everything started off so well but then some standards began to drop, I guess you could call it the domino effect. Firstly, I was awoken on my third night at 4am to the sound of a loud TV from another guest - I can't very well blame the hotel for the rudeness of another guest, but it was irritating and of course I didn't want to change rooms at such a late time in the night. When I returned to the hotel after work, I explained that I wanted to move rooms for the upcoming night as I didn't want to risk another night of disturbed sleep. The receptionist obliged kindly and asked me to wait for 20 minutes in my room while they arranged and readied the room for me. After 1 hour and two irritated phone calls from myself wondering why I was told to wait for so long, I was finally taken to my new seaview room. The room was fine, it was smaller than my last room, but what was annoying is that someone had clearly smoked in this room (hence why the wait time I imagine was so long). At this point, I couldn't be bothered to change rooms as I didn't want to spend another hour or so having to wait for a room change. As I was only staying one more night, I decided I'd go down to the swimming pool bar and enjoy some drinks by the pool that evening. A waitress in the restaurant showed me to my table outside and gave me a menu. Despite there being a bar outside, there was no bartender. 15 minutes later, no sign or trace of a front of house staff member could be found outside. They just decided to ignore the fact that I was outside, which really irritated me. I left the venue and explained to the restaurant manner that I was purposefully neglected and left in a huff. I thought that I'd order room service and proceeded to order a bottle of sparkling wine that I had seen on the bar menu downstairs. However, this wasn't available as room service (despite coming from the same restaurant) so I had to go back downstairs and order it and then ask for it to be sent to my room! The same restaurant manager could see that I was irritated so he sent me up the bucket of ice and glass which came after I arrived back in the room. Despite the flaws, I did actually enjoy the hotel and realise that my review reflects mainly on the problems. However, in hindsight the hotel was still nice and spacey The food was good too - particularly the burger! I would return, I just think more attention to detail here is lacking. Please don't put non-smoking guests in smokey rooms, or at least clean the room out thoroughly and offer another room in the meantime! Funnily enough, this is the second time I've stayed at a Hyatt hotel and had to be moved to another room, only to discover that the room I'm being moved to had been smoked in!

Happy stay. Rooms are very clean. Staff are extremely helpful especially the staff in the restaurant. The pool was a bit crowded during the day. We were asked to reserve our time slot (1 and a half hour) limiting 30 people in the pool. End up no one was checked and we were swimming with a crowd of 60. Gym room said to be opened 24 7. We went at 11pm to find it closed.

The pros: 1) Situated in an open green surrounding with mountains nearby, giving great views. 2) The University MTR station is a 5 min walk and is thankfully all covered which won't get you wet in an event of rainfall. 3) The area is not crowded as the Central which gives you peace of mind but just enough people which won't make you feel lonely or feeling of being in a remote place. 4) Rooms are huge and well appointed. The Cons: 1) They asked me for a $1000 deposit apart from the upfront full payment. It came as a surprise for me as I did not expect this or knew of this before at the time of booking. So expect this when you turn up here. 2) Little more warmth from the staff would have been appreciated 3) The guest rooms corridors were dimly lit 4) You don't get to understand the layout of the hotel somehow But all in all, a nice experience.

A few things. Good 1. Great location, staff have been very good (especially in lounge). 2. Location perfect for me, convenient to uni and trains. Not so good 1. Went to order room service after long day, but kitchen could not provide any hot meals. 2. Put laundry in Thursday morning, still not back Friday late night. When I asked they said it was bc I didn't have a cc on file. I'm here for two weeks, don't know why they don't have my cc, or didn't request it? 3. Booked the room (club) long ago. Then my wife decided to come, hotel increased the room price by over HKD500 per night. She decided not to come and so price reverted to the original - I don't get it! OK, but...... Room not as good as last time

One of the major drawbacks was the extremely limited food selection. Surprisingly, there was no provision for vegetarian or Indian cuisine. The absence of basics like pizza and burgers, both for room service and in the buffet, left me quite disappointed. As a traveler, the lack of diverse and familiar food options was a significant drawback. Considering the limited food choices and the inconvenience of the distant location, I cannot wholeheartedly recommend staying here, especially for tourists wanting to immerse themselves in the city's cultural and culinary offerings. If you're looking for a more central and diverse experience, it might be worth exploring other options in closer proximity to the city center.

Waste of time. Avoid at all costs. Booked a staycation long in advance. As some in our party tested positive 3 weeks ahead and some hotel have silly useless policies about it, contacted the Hyatt to check their policy. We explained our exact circumstances and been told that would not be a problem. Now 3 days before, been told by the hotel that the person who ended his quarantine 10 days ago won’t be able to check-in! Being left with too little time to find an alternative and having wasted time arranging a private boat from the local quay, just because the hotel doesn’t know it’s own silly and useless policies.

Location of this hotel is not in the city, however it's quite convenient to take MTR and walk like 5 mins to the hotel. The view of our room is stunning. All staffs are helpful and very nice.

Operational disaster at this hotel. I stayed 5 nights at this HR at the beginning of the month and it was a fairly good experience. I used my suite night award and got a 2-bedroom suite with water view, couldn’t ask for more. The lounge breakfast is disappointing but it was ok. So I booked another 5 nights a week later and it was one problem after another. I left a night early and just left the room empty as I was so fed up with the experience. For starter, I was assigned a room on the 11th floor. So going to the Regency lounge means I have to take an elevator to the lobby, walk to the other end of the lobby, and take another elevator up to the 25th floor. Do that 2-3 times a day over a week and it becomes annoying. You’d think they would be sensible enough to place their lounge guests on a floor that uses the same elevator as the lounge floor. But I can brush that off as it’s just inconvenience. But when I made my way to the second elevator, I found that my key does not allow me access to the lounge floor. So I had to walk over to the reception desk and wait in line to have my key updated. Note that this is the second time I had to do this as I experienced the same after checking in on my previous stay a week ago. There seems to be a pattern of not granting access to those who should have access to the lounge: Globalist members. Now, if those were the only issues, I probably would also brush it off. But for the first two days of my stay, housekeeping failed to clean my room. Since I work and sleep during US hours, I specifically requested housekeeping services before noon at check in, even on my app. I leave my room at 8am and return at 5pm but the room was not cleaned for two days. I finally tracked down a housekeeper and asked to speak to her manager. It appears that my room does not even show up on their list of rooms to be cleaned. At this point, I was really getting irritated but figured it’s simple human error. I went to bed at 5pm and had my DND light on. But at about 8pm I received a call from the concierge saying I have a package and that one of their staff is at my door trying to deliver it to me. I was not expecting a package but I saw it is one of their staff so I opened the door and was handed an envelope. It was an offer letter to someone else who is looking to stay for 2 months. And for the next two hours, I couldn’t fall asleep again. That really pisses me off as problems seem to be one after another and only gets worse. The next morning, I informed the Assistant FOM and he was apologetic and offered to assign me a better room the next time I stay at this hotel. But at this point, I’m done with this hotel and so I just packed my bags and moved to another hotel, even though I still paid for that night. But the disappointment does not end there! 3 days after my stay I got an update on my Hyatt app that I received 0 credit and 0 points for my stay. So I had to reach out to customer support in order to get my entitlement. If this is the experience for a Hyatt Globalist member, what would it be like for those that have no status membership? I do not recommend this hotel for anyone.

The Hotel is next to the University Railway Station, the Chinese University of HK and the CUHK Medical Centre & Hospital. In front of the hotel is the bus station , it's easy to get around especially to the New Territories areas. Because it's not in the downtown and business area, the hotel environment & atmosphere are comparatively peaceful and quiet . I have lunch at there Chinese Restaurant Shatin 18, very good food and good service. I have also tried the room service at the hotel, it's very good too ! This is the hotel I highly recommend ,

The view from the room is awesome.. cost rooms with well designed glass work which make you feel the rooms are too big and spacious. Night and day views are spectacular from the room.

This hotel cheaper than other hyatts because of the location. It is close to the train station, however, it still needs 20 mins to travel to the city centre. The buffet is impressive with quality food. Room is typical hyatt style which is always the top! I would recommend this hotel if you are look more at the hotel stars than the location.

I went to a wedding party at the Shatin 18 restaurant. Both the food and the service were very good. I did not stay in the hotel, nor did I use any of its facilities other than the restaurant.

The hotel is 3 mins walk to the University Station. Nothing interesting around, except a hospital. So there goes the one star. The toilet room floor is dirtier than a public restroom. I wonder if there is a proper mopping at all. Sticky when you walk with slippers. Disgusting 🤢 The room service is slow in response. And the reception was not answering the call. There are a Chinese restaurant, a buffet place, and a tiny bakery. The TV resolution stays at the last century. There is no espresso machine, but the motel Nestle coffee powder. If it’s a cheap choice, yes. Very much.

Very good hotel with excellent service. Hotel took care all my requests when booking very well. Room is new and modern. The location is far from popular attraction in Hong Kong but close to mrt station. Only thing is breakfast is not much choice of food and taste is average.

My husband and I had lunch buffet at Cafe yesterday.. This was my third visit. It was good value for money. The staff, except for the one at the sashimi stand, was courteous and the service was prompt. We will visit again soon.

We arrived at 3pm and wasted 1.5 hours to queue for check-in. It is unreasonably long plus the lobby is crowded with guests with insufficient space for social distancing. The staff offered no help and rudely walked away to avoid attending to guests who have been waiting. There is no manager on duty or at least no manager in sight and no channel for complaints. Worst staycation experience ever.

Very conveniently located next to the train station and quick to reach the city although it is situated in the New Territories. An older group of Hyatt hotels but the staff are friendly and helpful. Rooms are spacious, clean and cozy. The pool is big and with wonderful scenic surroundings.

Very happy stay. In particular, I want to thank Jacky for his help. On the last day I took a taxi from the hotel gate to airport but no cash with me. The driver can’t take credit card or wechat pay etc… . I have to ask the driver return the hotel immediately . But still The taxi fare is about 30+ and I have only 20 cash left. Jacky helped to pay the rest. Then I use Uber to call a car and get to airport. Jacky also helped me to carry the luggage. Really appreciate his helps!

Staycation in the hotel, package includes breakfast and buffet dinner. Room is big and clean, toilet is huge and shower and bathtub. Buffet dinner was great, lots of choices with great quality. Same as breakfast. Staff is friendly and helpful. Everyone enjoys it and we'll certainly be back again.

Food were great at both Chinese and western restaurants. Easy assess to the Ma Liu Shui Ferry and take the boat to the outlying islands e.g. Tap Mun, Shum Chun, Ap Chau etc

I ordered a cappuccino and was served prompt by very attentive staff. The coffee is delicious and served with an almond treat. Nice outlet, airy and well looked after. Nice experience

The rooms are super spacious and the price is very reasonable for hk. It's definitely a 5 star hotel in amenity and decor but some aspects of it are just satisfactory (like the toiletries, and not having multinational plugs), not like other 5 star hotels. For this price, it's loads better than what you'd get in other countries and the service was world class as well.

The lunch buffet here is really so so, every tood are mediocre. The variety of food is very limited. No oyster by the way. It is HKD430. No 10% service charge under COVID which is nice though

We booked a suite which was spacious but dated decor. The club lounge was very basic (more like a cheap airport lounge) Cocktail hour food very basic as was breakfast. The pool is nice for kids. Not an expensive get away but you can get more for your money elsewhere locally.

Staff generally friendly, except the night shift male front desk manager who has an attitude problem. Rooms are spacious. Have stayed in seaview and mountain view rooms, prefer mountain view rooms because it is more tranquil. The seaview side is right above a busy noisy highway, though the noise is bearly noticeable but Fungshui wise it is not that good, plus the sea is not Victoria harbour anyway so the view is not worth the extra money. Pool is nice most of the time except around meal time because the kitchen smell exhausts to the pool area and the whole area smells like the kitchen. Rooms are a bit dated with tired carpet. Breakfast buffet is average. This is a 3.5 star hotel. It is not a busy hotel though so that's good.

Very pleasant hotel. Staff takes good care of you. They have a particular staff called Steve Lo who helped me in my stay. They took care of my allergies and told me what I am allowed and what I am not . I highly recommend this hotel . One note is don't bring boxes from outside. For example, no Apple TV as it doesn't connect for Netflix or airplay . Overall a great experience. I would come again and highly recommend it .
