If you are a backpacker this place is NOT for you! I will admit it is a good price and in a decent neighborhood - relatively close to everything but, this is pretty much for "long-term" guests only. If you're looking for a hostel environment this is NOT for you! I was booked 5 days and only stayed 4. My bunkmates refused to even make eye contact but felt comfortable enough to use the bathroom with the door open. I had at least 3 "long-term" guests in my 8- person room and their stuff was overflowing from the beds to the floor to the dresser. One person even had a security camera on 24/7 watching his stuff that made me 100% uncomfortable. I understand the difficulties of finding an apartment in Hong Kong but you also have to see the risk here. Most hostels have an age range for a reason. Young girls and men in the 60s and up is just asking for problems. The room was a pig sty, the bathrooms look like they hadn't washing in weeks and I'm putting sure I was sleeping under black mold (picture included). I DO NOT RECOMMEND.

We wanted so badly to give this place the benefit of the doubt and have come away from it feeling like we can't recommend it. Here's why- When we initially arrived the cleanliness of the room was lacking. The curtains and walls were covered in stains and drips from liquids, a few scuff marks is totally fine, but stuff clearly hadn't been wiped down in a while. That said, bathroom was clean! My partner started getting bug bites and over the course of six days had over ten per ankle. We are pretty sure they were from bed bugs, because of the pattern of the bites plus some other signs, and so we went to talk to the front desk. While initially sympathetic they were unwilling to offer even a discount or paying for laundry. They also offered another room but when we entered there were cockroaches. They then asked if we had been to the countryside and basically said they thought we had tracked them in -- which was pretty hard to swallow from a customer experience perspective. I do think they tried their best given the circumstances (hostel was fully booked) but it wasn't a great experience staying here.

We would recommend this place. Great location the neighborhood is very cute with a lot of reasonable-priced food choices. Easy connection to MTR and buses. Comfortable lobby/shared space/living room that you can have your meal there or even work on your laptop 24/7. There are so many power outlet spots, both in our bedroom and in the living room. The small kitchen was practical and clean. There's a fridge that you can write your name plus room number and check out date at store your food in there for free. 🌟 there is filtered drinking water from the tap at the sink of the kitchen, which helps those who are on a budget but doesn't wanna drink tap water🌟 Overall, it is very clean. They also have the "Free of bed bug" certificate😂. however, the floor in our bedroom(1502), could be a bit cleaner, as there were quite some black female hair on the floor with quite a lot dust next to an under the lower bunk bed. The bathroom has separated wet and dry, zones. The shower was awesome. We would want to stay here again on our next trip to Hong Kong . The only alternative accommodation would be the "Y-loft" in Chia Wan area, as the price were rather similar, but the room was three times the size with a balcony and provided small simple breakfast.

Value for the money! I have some experiences of staying in cheaper , older, shabbier, places in Chunking mansion but this is far better. I paid double but a lot more comfortable, clean and feeling safe. Just a couple of minute walk from airport bus A21 bus stop and many eateries and shops around, walk distance to You Ma Tei station.

When we got there, we were greeted by the receptionist. She was polite and courteous. The lobby had other boarders sitting and chatting with each other. It felt very welcoming. We booked a room for three so had total privacy. The hostel was quiet clean and when we got back to our room, the maids had cleaned it and given us new towels. There was no fridge but you can leave stuff in the lobby fridge (I think). An added bonus is that they have outlets that we didn't need to use an adapter. We used the hostel to sleep and shower as we would be out all day. I did go to the lobby the first night because in their cooler, I saw a local IPA for $30. I can't pass up sampling a bottle. When I got to the lobby that night, it was like a little party. If you're traveling alone, I'm sure you can make friends here. The best part is outside the hostel. There are plenty of eateries and convenience stores nearby. Around the corner is the subway station. Meeting our needs, I'd stay there again, provided we get an entire room to ourselves.

I've been there twice within two years. Both stays were great. The hostel is very clean and the staff nice. It's very close to the next MRT and quite convenient to wander around Kowloon. They also offer free water in the lobby and some nice and pretty cheap events for the guests. I was also positively surprised by their recommendations for restaurants nearby. Ended up in a real gem including chatting to some locals.

Not sure how I feel about this, room being TOO small and price being high for private room is a big downside for me, however I think that's just how Hong Kong is. My main issues however were - The room being unclean, was so much hair on the floor - Not enough towels for everyone - AC was weak so it was very cold sometimes - They didn't change towels until we asked and they cleaned the room only once in 5 days and it wasn't a good clean - One of the staff members looked like he was always annoyed whenever I ask anything, however there was another lovely woman who I presume was the manager, she was super nice and helpful - The double bed has a foldable hinge that was loose and the bed almost fell down, they fixed it a bit but it wasn't that good which made me not able to sleep comfortably at all I think I would have been okay to go to this as a hostel and get a dorm room amd pay less, it would have been a realistic value for money, however for a private room it didn't feel thar great, but take my review with criticism as Hong Kong is clearly very different from what I'm used to.

We stayed in 2 hotels and your hotel is much better than the previous one, it was clean and comfortable. They also have a cool lobby on the 2nd floor. However, regarding the service, I want to complain about the young boy receptionist with curly hair and a golden braid. His attitude was bad and he acted so rude with his dissatisfied face to us when he told my boyfriend to show him the passport. We wonder if you are not aware that you work in the hospitality industry or you are acting like you truly are. You are a huge reason why an experience that should have been 10 points but only got 7 points. Luckily we only went back to the room to rest and didn't interact much with you. I hope you soon become a standard employee in industry or soon find another path that is more suitable for you.

The room is really nice and clean. I booked a non smoking room with a large bed. I got a room with a big window, so the sunshine can come inside. OH, the room service will clean the room everyday! The location is really convenience as it's near the Yau Ma Tei MTR station and bus stop to the airport. There are a lot of restaurants nearby and also convenience store. There was a day that I cannot enter my room, I dont know why, maybe the key was error. I asked the front office girl, and she was very nice and helped me to open my door very quickly.

Great location & can be better if towels are clean. During 5day 4 nights stay, daily changed towels are dirty with black spots for 2 days. Some rooms are big, some rooms are super tiny. Generally, I'm OK with the super tiny room .Of course it would be perfect if the room size can be bigger

The best hostel in Hong Kong. Friendly staff, super clean and beautiful rooms. Great accommodations and warm lobby. The neighborhood is perfect. There is everything you need in less than 5 walking minutes. Yau Ma Tei is the place for backpackers, typical, authentic and cheap food at every corner. Would go back there if I ever come back to Hong Kong !

Stayed for 2 nights The location is great and the staff is friendly But the room was so filthy. The double bed room was sticky and there were bugs on the wall. The ceiling was stained and shower curtains were just ew. The water pressure was so low too. The entire room just felt disgusting.

This hotel was so terrible and quite tricky they will excuse alot if things so that they will no refund but on their post website was free cancellation. And I've been contacting both parties to inform problem but it seems like they don't want to help is cheat! They earn for free.

Was really surprised with how much I enjoyed staying here considering the amount I paid. I booked a private room for myself, and it was really clean and comfortable - especially with the bathroom. It was only a 2 minute walk to Yau Mei Tei station and is just off temple street - so it was so convenient and easy to get to. Got clean towels everyday, and self checkin was really easy. I recommend staying here. However hand soap, shampoo, conditioner is not provided. Thankfully, there are 7/11s and Watsons’ close by.

“BEST FIND!!!!” I love my stay here for 4 nights. THE ROOM I booked a 4-bed dormitory for female and it exceeded my expectations. The sheets are so clean and smells good. You have your privacy because each bed has a curtain wall. What I like the most is that each bed has its own outlet with 2 female sockets and 2 USB port. It also has a small lamp. Eaxh guest has their own locker. The CR is also bigger than what I imagined. The water doesn't run out, it has hot shower! THE LOCATION Location wise, it lies between Mongkok and Tsim Sha Tui (which is soooooo good), both are walking distance. There are lots of food choices outside and it is near DS Groceries, McDonald's, and Prizemart. OVERALL I also love how they maintain cleanliness in all facilities. It is good to have a common space to do your things and a small kitchen where you can heat your outside bought food. I would love to go back to Hong Kong and book the same hostel. Thank you for making my trip memorable!

Good value hostel in perfect location. Just two minutes by foot to MTR and Nathan Road. Loads of restaurants nearby. The rooms and bathrooms were clean and rather spacious. The beds are quite comfortable with lights, plugs and USB charger. Luggage storage possible. Absolute recommendation for a cheap stay in Kowloon.

Giving it a five star, not because it is a perfect hostel, but you get a good value for the money you pay based on Hong Kong standards. Beds are comfortable and clean, individual light per bed + storage space. There’s a shower room with basic amenities shampoo, soap, wipes, and tissue. The old men are always on the first floor to guard the accommodation maybe for security. Loved my stay and felt safe here. If you are a female solo traveler, I can recommend this place.

I was booked family room with my friends. I lower my expectations since i used to read a lot about how small rooms in Hong Kong but this room is more bigger than i thought! The room is spacious and even the utilities is complete and they were cleaned the room everyday. The hostel is near with MTR station and just walking from it you can go to Ladies Market. I'm really glad i'm booked this hostel. Definitely will be back here again if i visit Hong Kong someday. Thank you ✨️

Location is GOLDEN!!! It was easy to move around HK because the hostel location was a stone throw away from bus stop and MTR station. The airport bus route (A21) also has a bus stop in the next street. You can walk going to the sneaker street and night market. So much food within the perimeter too. Security is good. CCTV person in the first place always in the lookout. Keycard is required in using elevator. We paid 14kpesos for a 4night stay for 3pax. I was expecting a tiny tiny room since this is HK, but this room size was decent. We were able to lay our luggages on the floor. The bathroom has a separate space for toilet and shower, unlike other budget hostels where the shower is directly above the toilet. Sheets are clean, hot shower has a very strong water pressure. Towels are changed everyday. Check-in and check-out are hassle free, no deposit fee. We were able to leave are luggage with them after checkout while waiting for our flight.

EDIT since I cannot respond to the reply to my review. The response, i.e. gaslighting, to my critique says everything you need to know about this place. You're weird for looking at my other reviews and using that to try to shift the blame for my bad experience back onto me. On the contrary, YOU seem like *quite a sensitive person for your terrible response to constructive criticism. Maybe spend less time being combative in your responses and spend more time making your place less trashy. Also it's statistically proven that people are more likely to share bad experiences than good ones 🙄 but thank you so much for proving my point about how horrific this place and its staff are! Worst hostel I’ve EVER stayed in! From the moment I arrived, I was unwelcome by the staff members at the desk completely ignoring me. Later on during my stay, I encountered two of the staff who were actually friendly (woman with brown ponytail and another with a short black pixie cut). Unfortunately the majority of the workers here were rude and seemed to prefer sitting behind the computers all day without any sort of interaction. Even some of the replies to their reviews are super unprofessional, condescending, and demonstrate a serious lacking in customer service. In the hospitality industry, this is not okay at all. I’ve never seen any kind of behavior like this before. On a positive note, I can say the lobby area is nice and clean. The rest of the hostel should be held to this very same standard. The dormitory and room, however, were absolutely filthy and disgusting. I’ve stayed in dorms with multiple people before (and guys, at that) but never once have I ever had to stay somewhere that is so dirty, with hair everywhere, mold on the walls, sticky surfaces in the bathroom, clothes strewn everywhere. I wish that before booking, I’d looked at the low reviews on Agoda, since most of the reviews that pop up first are the highest rank. I don’t know how anyone could give this place four-five stars, as I encountered other guests who were staying in different rooms who told me they had to kill roaches multiple times. Hong Kong is quite expensive and accommodation is not the best, but do yourself a favor and stay anywhere else but here.

It was my first time came to HongKong, I saw it expensive hotels in HongKong, and tried to get the cheaper hotel. Dorm is for 8 people female/male. It’s quite good when you just want to stay for couple days. When you enter the building just go to 2nd Floor and look in the corner, and call the reception, they will lead you how to check in, easy check in and check out without deposit fee.

Great hostel, very clean and well located. I liked the area a lot, there were so many restaurants/shops within walking distance as well as various public transport options very close. The common room is nice and has cheap beers for sale and is small enough to create a social environment for meeting other travelers. Definitely would come back here again.

Yesinn is a pleasant and overall well priced option when staying in Hong Kong. Its always clean, welcoming and convenient. The staff member Jessi was very helpful and answered any questions i had to the best of her abilities during my stay. Overall good place to stay, if you want a well priced accommodation with all the essentials but nothing fancy.

The location is amazing... One guy (long hair) at the reception is not friendly at all, but the other are wonderful. The room was clean but the bathroom need to be clean as there are too many empty bottles of soap and shampoo. Maybe the curtain need to be clean regularly as it is dirty and moldy. You can cook simple food there.

I stayed for two nights alone in a double room and everything was great. The bed was very comfortable, the room was spotless and very quiet, and though small I guess this is the norm for Hong Kong. It would be a bit of a squeeze with two people, but manageable if you didn't have too much luggage. The Wifi was good, staff were friendly and helpful, and the A21 bus from the airport drops off and collects from very close by, making the whole experience very easy.

I stayed in the 4 bed mixed dorm, the beds and the bathrooms are quite clean (it did seemed like it was cleaned everyday, so any uncleanliness depends on who else is staying with you). A few hangars were provided and there was sufficient space for everyone's luggage storage. Personal lockers are small though, enough for essential belongings but not a whole bag. Depends on your type of room, but I was staying on the upper bunk and the curtain you can pull across your bed for privacy only went across halfway. The lower beds had full coverage though. Had a fun time chatting with one of the receptionists, who also did translating and interpreting. Keep an eye out when you arrive!

The double bed in the private ensuite is way too small for two people. Tiny bathroom but good location.

  • 3/5 Ethan Ong Wee T. 10 months ago on Google
Location is near Yau Ma Tei MTR station. Very small private double room. The metal bed frame is dusty. The bed/mattress length seems too short even for me who is 1.68m. On the 1st day after check-in, there was a cockroach running in the room. Housekeeping only tidy the bed after the 1st night but didn't do so for the remaining 3 nights. On the 2nd day, housekeeping replaced the shower towels but 1 of them had 2 big patches of yellowish stains. The door was faulty & couldn't open on 2nd night (battery flat & was replaced). On the 3rd day morning, when switching on the toilet & room lighting, the circuit breaker tripped & there was no lighting & aircon. This was then rectified.

  • 4/5 Raymond C. 5 months ago on Google
The hotel is good! Budget friendly and towels get changed everyday. The only reason I put 4 is because the bathroom has a bad smell from time to time. I think it's coming from the drainage system. I hope they put this into attention. The location is really good as well since it's very near to the train station. We stayed for 1 week overall it was a nice place.

Great location, near from Yau Ma Tei MTR station (5 mins walk) and Bus Station (2 mins walk). Stayed there for 4 days in their private room. We had a great experience! Our flight departed quite late in the evening however we were happy that the hostel provided self check in services which was quite convenient for us. Moreover, the customer service was really nice and the amenities were great! The room was clean and comfortable we rested really well. Lastly, the hostel location was amazing ! We got to try plenty of street foods. I would say that the hostel and their services was impressive as they also provide alot of cool outdoor activities along with the staffs. We will come back again :)

Helpful efficient staff. Great location for visiting any area of Hong Kong with buses and subway nearby. Dining and shopping nearby. Tin Hau Temple a block away. Temple Street night market. Clean rooms. Dorms and private rooms. Safe, building guard on duty 24/7. Key required to take elevator to your floor. Self service laundry just around the corner. Room and dorm prices quite reasonable. A great choice.

Cheap and good! I booked a triple room even though just 2 of us, so that we have more space. It also come with a hair dryer and kettle in room, which is very useful to me. Not very soundproof but it's fine for me. Stayed for 5 nights and everything is good, I think they renovated the rooms not long ago. Room is clean and very strategic location at temple street, very short walking distance to YMT MTR station. We are not allowed to eat in the room but we can eat at the level 2 (reception floor), good for the cleanliness. Definitely will recommend friends to stay here. It's better to book early if would like to book the triple room.
