Like
every
MUJI
visit,
the
orderly
arrangements
help
me
find
a
sense
of
calmness
in
this
world
of
chaos.
In
this
grid-like
establishment
one
can
find
a
spacious
MUJI
store
with
the
usual
housewares,
stationaries,
travel
supplies,
and
delicious
snacks;
a
MUJI
book
store
with
books
about
food
and
clothes
et.;
and
a
MUJI
cafe
that
sells
deli
food
more
than
coffee.
My
focus
will
be
on
the
cafe,
since
lunch
is
my
purpose
of
visit
today.
In
the
middle
of
Garth
Stein's
"The
Art
of
Racing
in
the
Rain",
I
sought
a
quiet
spot
where
I
could
sit
down
and
enjoy
a
relaxed
lunch.
Let's
face
it,
while
Starbucks
might
once
have
provided
such
a
location,
today
it
is
just
noisy
and
pricey
and
crowded
with
the
pretentious
self-proclaimed
artists.
So
MUJI
cafe
has
picked
up
the
slack
and
is
now
a
tastefully
decorated,
calm,
and
comfortable
rest
stop.
The
food
is
lukewarm
and
unspectacular,
but
I
find
that
it
fits
the
atmosphere
very
well
--
similar
to
drinking
light
tea
in
a
Buddhist
temple.
While
I
doubt
that
I
will
read
any
book
from
the
MUJI
bookstore's
shelf,
I
see
myself
coming
back
for
the
food,
the
decor,
and
the
zen
feeling.
Four
stars.
