An outstanding heritage project in Hong Kong which is not only a local focus but also a tourist attraction, it was converted from an industrial building to a creative arts centre. There are several area offered spaces for exhibition. Together with boutiques selling products from local designers, you can spend at least half a day here.

The Jockey Club Creative Arts Centre (JCCAC) is a large scale social project in Shek Kep Mei whereby a 9 storey factory estate was restored and repurposed into a multi-disciplinary arts centre, similar but much larger in scale to what can be found at the Cattle Depot Artist Village at Ma Tau Kok. For the most part the JCCAC was closed down during the pandemic but there have been far more events, courses and the likes taking place there in recent months as Hong Kong has reopened its public and government run facilities around the city. It takes some research to find activities and studios here suitable and convenient for tourists to visit and take part in. You can browse through the JCCAC website if interested. What visitors can do that is accessible are the coffee shop called Cafe Golden and the delightful Heritage Tea House. These are open daily. JCCAC is located on Pak Tin Street and is around an 8-10 minute walk from the Shek Kip Mei MTR Station.

This is my first visit, the place is lively and well organized, hope our government can keep it to give a chance for creative development, other than just for the sake of adding up residential space, especially when the location is already crowded

09.06.2018: brilliant idea to make use of aged industrial building for handcrafted and cultural fairs, i could really feel the art ambiance and hipster mode, the presence of art enthusiasts made the event in a beautiful way :)

Located in Shek Kip Mei, Hong housed in a converted nine-storey factory estate. Walking distance from MTR station. Number of small workshops stores in this building and also showing art projects at least once a week. Like an incubator for Hk artists.

A quiet place to relax and enjoy, the food is also well prepared and taste good, will be back again. The outdoor seating is definitely a plus to this lunch.

Once i was just walking down the street on sham shui po searching dragon mall and one lady asked me to visit this place as well. I gave it a shot, cuz why not. Locals telling you to discover some place means a lot. The place is so good filled with art. Every picture tells a story and is colorful to make you feel good as soon as you enter.

Quite enjoy the workshops, theatre space and galleries here. Quite a variety here. From a shop that makes Chinese classical music instrument to talks on human rights and leather making workshop. Quite enjoy walking around and wondering into different spaces. Would recommend coming to check out this space and attending some workshops here

This is an amazing space. As others have said this is a converted factory building and it is very proud of this industrial past at one level, but also retains, as it should, very much the atmosphere of its past. Although now full of artist units peddling a variety of skills and products including printing, dying, artist shops and coffee rooms, it has the feeling of walking around a large mostly empty - many artisans only work for short periods in the week - building. That said there is an excellent dedicated team ensuring lots is going on including walking tours, theatrical performances in the theatre and workshops. Overall an interesting afternoon but make sure you plan exactly what you want to see before visiting.
