The Tak Wah Park stands at the former site of Hoi Pa Village, which is a mixed-lineage Hakka village. The landscape of Jockey Club Tak Wah Park shows an exceptional effort in accentuating the character of ancient classical Hakka structures. The Hoi Pa Village had a history of over one hundred years. Three structures of the former Hoi Pa Village were preserved in the Tak Wah Park. Two were old houses, and the third one is the Chan Yi Cheung Ancestral Hall. They are Grade 3 Historic Buildings. The park is a very beautiful place with lots of waterfront landscapes and lots of special trees. One can easily spend a few hours there admiring the community life as well as the gardens.

This lovely park is not far from Tsuen Wan MTR. It is built on the site of a former Hakka village and three of the village buildings have been kept and incorporated into the park. The buildings are the ancestral hall and old houses, including the home of a village scholar. In addition to the old buildings there are ponds, bridges, beautiful trees and a camelia garden.

The Tak Wan Park is located along Tak Hoi Street in Tsuen Wan on the former grounds of the old Hoi Pa village. The area was developed by the Hong Kong Jockey Club into a beautiful city park in the 1980s. It is a nice opportunity to relax and enjoy a charming village-themed, garden rich park in Tsuen Wan. Opening hours are 6.30am to 11pm daily. The park is 1.63 hectares and features two original Hakka buildings which are Declared Monuments of Hong Kong as well as numerous other Hakka style structures and buildings. The park is surrounded by a grey and black brick wall, includes a monumental gateway, bridges, pavilions, grotto rock garden, Camellia garden, a lovely lake with a small falls and lots of delicate landscaping and flowerbeds. Trees within the park are tall and provide plenty of shade. There are also numerous places to have a seat to rest and enjoy the tranquility of the park. You'll also find a children's playground area and public toilets within the park grounds. This is a really neat and beautiful village-themed park, one that is well worth spending a bit of time during time spent in Tsuen Wan.
