Very solid hotel where you will get a bang for you buck. The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. The house staff was as well. The gym while small is still enough to get in a good sweat. I had the comfort room which while small provided everything I needed for night and a solid view. They even allowed me late checkout. I will definitely look for this hotel when I am back in Hong Kong. The location is ideal as well to where you can get to things in Hong Kong but 15-20 minute taxi ride.

Overall a good hotel based on the price paid. The room was very small, though we knew what to expect ahead of time based on other reviews. The room layout is slightly inconvenient as one side of the bed does not have a bedside table or power outlet. Aside from this, the A/C worked well and the room had good sound insulation - we didn’t hear any other guests other than when they’d walk by in the hallway to enter their rooms. The nearest MRT stations are walkable, though still far enough that it can be a bit of a nuisance to walk in the rain or if it’s very hot outside. Lots of bus stops nearby though, which was helpful to get around town.

Just went through a 3-day hotel quarantine. Dorsett Mongkok, especially Gus and his team, who have been highly responsive and helpful, made the stay smooth and enjoyable. Me and my friend stayed in ‘Room Comfort’ - though the room isn’t large, it has large and bright windows; Ceiling is high so even in a small room, you don’t have a cramped feeling. You can choose to open window as well, just ask Gus how. What surprised us was the meals - they actually taste good! Hainan Chicken rice was our favorite. Hotel provides each room with silverware (an Eco gift) and you won’t need to feel bad about throwing out plastic utensils everyday. I’ll highly recommend you consider Dorsett Mongkok if you’re looking for a good value hotel with super helpful staff members.

Mixed bag really. First of all, the staff were amazing throughout, they did everything to help, they deserve 6*. The rooms are really, really small, the bed is even smaller, my feet were literally hanging out. The hotel shuttle service is useful, but as traffic is really bad, it can take more time in the shuttle than walking, or taking the metro. The location is, in my opinion, not great, but between the shuttle, public transport (15 minutes by metro to HK central), and Uber, we got around... And walked loads! Uber from the airport was less than $hkd300. Overall a comfortable hotel, but not superb.

My family sent a birthday cake to me during my quarantine. Unfortunately, I told them the wrong room number, causing the cake to be delivered to the wrong room. In the end, the hotel ordered the exact cake from the same bakery with the same birthday notes on it and gave it to me. If that's not what you call great service, idk what is

Dorsett made it right with me, even though by rights they could have kept a 1n deposit they agreed that they would refund 100% based on the change of government rules. I'm happy that they made the effort to reach out to me and look forward to staying there in the future.

Reached Hong Kong on 23rd September 2022 to be with my son and family. Booked here as close to my son's residence. Dorsett Hotel in Mongkok area Is a 4 star rated Hotel. Rooms and facilities in room excellent including plug adaptor for charging cell phone , hair dryer, broadband internet cable with miniscule working space , clothes hangers, hot and cold water, spic and span toilets and shower area, electic kettle with fridge, tea and coffe packets, 6 cans of cold drinks complimentary, air purifier, small fridge. Good breafast of beans on toast today , chowmein with spring onions and kanji rice soup yesterday Lunch rice, tofu and boiled chimsoy leaves yesterday..., today only chowmein..no sauce or dry spice packets to go with it... completely non spicy. Too bland for Indians who are used to spicy food . Asked for food without onions as I am a Jain or in lieu therof if they could give fruits instead.....this adjustment was the only shortcoming ...only standard food served. Suggested to order through Food Panda (like Swiggy in India) but no proper Indian restaurants in this area)...Indian food available in TST (Tsim Tsa Chui) area aplenty . ...the food shortcoming was overcome with home food sent by my son However, next day, served rice with pumpkin and cabbage in lovely gravy with pear.... Excellent place ... normally quarantine people to carry their own luggage but they helped us right to our room with heavy bags ..a blessing for myself physically challenged.

The price is ok as HK is notorious for its horrible living conditions and expensive accommodation, you got everything you need in the hotel room. It’s a bit old but relatively clean. I don’t think it’s qualified as four star hotel depending on what the benchmark it is. The breakfast looks bit disgusting, even if the toast is buttered. Some improvement are needed

This review is for the lady that cleaned room 817 from 6/8-6/18. I didn’t get her name but she did an amazing job and I want to make sure she gets acknowledged. She made sure our rooms were thoroughly cleaned everyday and was super kind and friendly. I left my phone in the hotel room prior to leaving for my flight and she went out of her way to ensure my phone was received. Leadership - please promote her/give her a nice raise. Her customer experience is incredible and you all are so lucky to have her!!

A great stay in the heart of Mong Kok. Rooms are quite compact as is expected in HK but the service here is fantastic. Staff are well trained and keen to help. An hourly free bus shuttle takes you to nearby stations and areas. They have refillable water stations on several floors with a bottle in your room to avoid plastic bottles. Breakfast is decent if a little limited. Views from high floors are great and showers are pressurised and hot. I would definitely stay here again and recommend to others.

We stayed here for 3 nights - twin room that cost around 3500 HK$ for 2 pp. the location was great- 550m from 奥运 train station or 950m from 旺角 station. walking distance to or from both. Public transport is gold here. Free shuttle buses to local market and 九龙 train station are free daily. Foreigners from different countries stay here. Several 7-11 n restaurants nearby.

Rooms are small but functional, clean enough but still the toilet bowl flushing should be further improved. Location is not as ideal if you are not a long distance walking kind of person. The highlight was local food are easily available right from door steps of hotel & staffs are most willing to answer your queries n requests👍👍👍

The service is great. Nothing to complain about. The room I stayed in is weird. There is a beeeep sound every time the room above turns on their water. I couldn't get a good night's sleep because of it. There was also a red stain on the bed sheet when I opened the blanket. There is no complimentary water bottle. The room is provided with a glass bottle to refill at a certain floor. It was too troublesome for me so I just boiled water with the provided water kittle. The location is kind of okay. Walkable distance to Prince Edward station and Mongkok station. However, this hotel is close to A21 bus which is an airport express bus. As other people have said across the street is McDonald and other restaurants.

The day I walked in the hotel lobby ask a man at a small counter if coffee shop is opened. Without hesitation, he said no meals are served. I thought they close the outlet due to covid or they served quarantined guests. Many years ago I enjoyed buffet at coffee shop. It was a bit misleading. Until today I took this photo. Their outlets all closed. If this is not the case I would be glad to see the hotel clarifying. I did not stay. April 1 , I walked in again it's much better as the staff at concierge told me to ask receptionist on room rate etc. A female receptionist answered all my questions on room rate, breakfast not included so on. Same is to surf. At least I got to talk to the staff. Hopefully I stay to have a complete picture.

My partner and I checked into this hotel for our compulsory 7-day quarantine. We originally booked a double room with one double bed but were put in a room with two singles, the room was a tad small and not what we had initially booked, anyway, we put the beds together but space for both working out and luggage was quite limited. In the end, we moved rooms because there was an electrical fault with the AC. To our relief, we were swiftly moved to a nicer room with a double bed which had an overall better layout and more space. We were much happier with this room. The lunch and dinner weren't great, lots of rice and minimal meat. As a westerner, this isn't what I normally eat so I ordered out frequently. Breakfast was fine though and I have seen far worse food in other QT hotels! The service was really good, the staff were always polite, friendly and helpful when we called them and made requests. They bought food and drinks up in a timely manner. The TV was a decent size and had cable channels. I was dreading the stay in a QT hotel but it was made a lot more tolerable. The hotel loses two stars only for the lack of variety and meat in the food and for the room with two single beds, otherwise everything else is great!

We had a reasonably good stay at Dorsett Mongkok for one night. The location is not bad, fairly easy to walk to Mongkok tourist locations like Ladies Market, and there are good takeaway breakfast places nearby. They were kind to upgrade us to a large suite room for free, which was much appreciated as the room was decently large. It was clean, a bit dated, but overall very comfortable, and I appreciated the extremely firm mattress. My main issues were that the shower was a bit broken (rain shower was spraying everywhere) and that the bed was too short for me. Also with only two lifts on a 27 floor building, you can be waiting a while. But overall we had a good stay here.

Really convenient for an overnight or for a short stay location wise since it is close to the subway station. Everyone was hospitable and the hotel was clean and had everything you need for a good stay. We would definitely come back to this location in the future.

Awesome location with MTR-Stations in walkable distances (Olympics, Prince Edward) and a bunch of bus services directly in front of the hotel. In the streets around you can find plenty of lunch/dinner/eating options. The hotel is nicely renovated. We had a room on the 19th floor for 9 days. For Hongkong the rooms are quite spacious, comfy, and well equipped with hair dryer or fridge and very clean. Unfortunately, there is no room to store luggage. The rooms are a bit noisy as well. Biggest disadvantage of the rooms are the old beds. Matrasses are spring core, pillows are low, so sleeping gets uncomfy with time. Don`t count on the very poor breakfast with little options (very english, only one sort of fruit, one daily alternating egg option between scramble and boiled, baked beans and either cooked ham or sausage, Toast and danish pastry). Service in the lobby and the restaurant is very nice though. To sum it up it is a very nice place to be and probably a very good price for value option in Hongkong and thus recommendable, particularly for 3 to 4 nights.

Location is a long walk to the MTR train stations. They do have a free shuttle bus to the tourist shopping district. We did get an upgrade to a higher floor with a nice view. Many good local restaurants in the area and a McDonald’s across the road. Rooms are very small but very efficient. Make sure you hang the room service sign when you leave daily otherwise their policy is they will not clean your room. They should notify their guests when checking in. Wi-Fi was slow.

Rooms are abit small but that’s HK for you, still the room was decent sized & amazing views of Kowloon side, just wish the window could open abit. Bathroom was also dark at night , maybe needs more powerful globes? Apart from this the hotel & rooms are nice, staff are great & the location is decent, close to many things & 7 min walk to Olympic station. Quieter part of town with also good noise proofing between rooms. I just wish the breakfast had a few more items, as some days it was very limited.

  • 4/5 Jason L. 4 months ago on Google
Dorsett Mongkok is a 8-10min walk from Olympic station exit B. The walk is mostly sheltered overhead bridge which makes it more comfortable. We got a superior room on a high level and the room is of decent size (HK standards). The bathroom is slightly small. The breakfast could be better if there is more variation other than scrambled eggs, baked beans, pastries and ham/patty.

For us this hotel is in a great location, easy enough to get to from the airport (high speed rail and MTR). A taxi might have been simpler but we like to try the options available. We had a surprise with the size of the room being somewhat smaller than we anticipated (but our fault, we didn't check the room dimensions when we booked!). We had breakfast in the restaurant on the first morning. Tea, coffee, toast, croissants, chicken sausage and beans. Some deals may include breakfast. Staff were helpful and, when we had issues, they dealt with them quickly and efficiently. Mong Kok is so different to HK island but we felt safe wherever we went. Really enjoyed all of Hong Kong, it's sights, sounds, smells and, most of all, the people.

The rooms were pleasant and the view was great. The staff were so kind to assist us with a slightly earlier check in and slightly later check out time upon our request. The availability of shuttle buses between the hotel and nearby MTR stations were also useful.

Overall a pleasant experience at the Dorsett Mongkok. The superior room is by all means not very spacious (barely had room to keep a big suitcase open) but this is very typical of HK. The view was really nice! Though the carpets could really do with a steam clean. Like other reviews the water bottle filling station on a few floors is a really environmentally friendly aspect. Laundry room was nice and convenient. If the gym was more than one of each cardio equipment and one bench in a tiny room this would be 5 stars.

Very good location. Walkable to Olympic station, which we used most often to travel to disneyland, Lantau island and other attractions. Room were cosy and clean, with good views from the higher floors. Breakfast was just fine and helped us to grab something quickly before we left for sightseeing. To our surprise there was electric socket converter in the room, which was useful for us, although we carried one with us. Presence of McDonald's opposite to the hotel and 7 eleven store was an added advantage. The hotel staff was very helpful. Overall a great stay with kids @ Dorsett!

Dorsett Mongkok is my go to place of choice in Kowloon/Hong Kong. It is centrally located and several of the best market/shopping streets and malls are a short walk away. There is a crazy amount of places to eat very close by. The breakfast on the first day of this visit was very British. There was boiled egg, bangers, toast and beans and much more. The coffee was very good. Recommended 10/10.

We love the service provided by the hotel. We left one hand bag at the restaurant. The staff, who found it, checked with the counter and brought it up to our room. We were given 1 lunch voucher whic we could not find time to consume during 1st part of our stay. The counter staff was most kind to extend the validity to our stay when we returned. We also loved the free shuttle service which would take you to key shopping areas and ferry terminal. The location is also great. There is a large mall nearby with plenty of eateries and shops. It is also a stop away from Kowloon West station where you can take the high speed train to Shenzhen.

In my opinion for staying in this hotel for 3 nights. 📍The location is not far from metro station but if you have to to carry your luggage, it might be make you tired. There’re many restaurants around hotel (example McDonald, congee, buns, bakery, sushi express) But this hotel’s not located close to mongkok. You have to take hotel’s bus/metro/walk to there. ✨There’re all amenities (toothbrush, toothpaste, shampoo, conditioner, soap, cotton bud, cotton wool). They clean up our room every day and filled up all amenities. ✨This hotel provided a bottle (only use in hotel) to fill water. It’s quite inconvenient when you came too late after traveling for a long day. Eco-friendly but not tourist-friendly 🥹🥹😢

Giving 5 stars because of value of money, very clean room and location. Located in nearby local eateries, in front of mcdonalds and 10 mins walk to mtr mongkok. 2-5mins walk to bus stops. A 8mins walk to the bus to airport. Room is small but i think is okay on HK standard. Queen size bed, table and chair, space for luggage and clothes - think is already fair enough. Most importantly is clean. Provide good toiletries, toothbrush and towels. Mini refrigerator and kettle too. Aircond is cold and shower with strong water pressure and adjustable heat that never runs out. Check in and out process is smooth and fast with friendly staff. Booked directly via their website. Book under a package with meal vouchers. The meal vouchers are legit, easy to use and good portion too. Only downside for me was the two small lifts that can be quite crowded and need to wait for some time during peak times. But a perfect stay.

Very professional service by the all the service staff here, despite my many requests from sending water bottles up my room to taking care of my parcels to the hotel, the staff does it smoothly, professionally and with no hint of annoyance. Wanna commend the counter staff Wilson for his professional service over these past few days, thank you very much.

I stayed for three nights and the staff were all helpful and friendly. The room, although for some people might be small, is convenient and clean. We got a room with a good view as well. It was a pleasant stay!

Covid stay. Service and location no complaints, food came warm and on time which was great as it wasmy main concern when booking quarantine hotel. Only downside is the variety of food, had pasta twice out of the whole 7days 3meals a day the rest was just rice in different format haha. I love rice but that was just too much rice in the morning, afternoon and evening.

Terrible experience with Dorsett Mongkok quarentine Hotel. The food is very bad, the rooms are tiny, the WiFi is very slow and we were only getting speeds of 25mbps, despite being advertised as 1000mbps, there is no direct Internet connection in the rooms either. Reception or housekeeping never pick up or answer any of the calls from the room and there is constant building work going on which is extremely loud and makes working from the hotel impossible.

When I first searched for Designated Quarantine Hotels in Hong Kong for a 7 day stay, I was disappointed to see that my favorite hotel was already full till September 2022. I chose Dorsett Mongkok as a second choice, and was pleasantly surprised by its staff and services. The room was extremely clean, compact and well-lit. An air purifier was provided, which kept the room fresh and smell-proof. The hotel pre-arranged a water filter as an opt-in, which I found environment-friendly. I didn't throw out a single water bottle👏👏👏 Additionally, they have a plastic recycling program, whereby they collect washed plastic food containers at the end of the quarantine, which is also opt-in. I love that👏👏👏 Any request was immediately attended to - being a pure vegetarian, I requested an egg-free, meat-free menu: it was arranged without a whimper, and the quality was great and quantity, more than sufficient. It is my habit to eat atleast one banana a day - when I requested as an addition, they sent me a bunch💕 They have a tie-up with Foodpanda which delivers multiple cuisines, and I loved the vegetable spring rolls I ordered ❣ What impressed me most was their courtesy and discipline - they explained the procedure of waste collection, food delivery, Rapid Antigen testing, recycling etc. in great detail. They were extremely responsive to all my requests and attended to it promptly! I also appreciate that they could communicate very well in English😊 Wifi in the room was reliable and useful for our work 👍 Indeed, Dorsett Mongkok made my stay memorable and very pleasant- I thank their staff, especially GUS! They remind me of the best Japanese hotels- clean, compact, efficient, courteous and absolutely affordable too👏👏 The only pointer I would like to make to the hotel is to add more Indian vegetarian dishes to the cuisine if possible. More and more Indians are traveling these days, and there is a wide vegetarian variety in Indian food that is loved by Americans, Japanese and European travellers too.

Quarantine stay. I would definitely recommend the hotel to family and friends. The rooms are a bit smaller than you might be used to from Europe, but perfectly adequate and very clean for a city trip or as a quarantine hotel. I am a vegetarian and had a good and tasty meal here. However, what I will remember best is the staff! They were always friendly, polite and very caring. Thank you for making my quarantine so comfortable!

The location and the room are great. All the staff were amazing! After check out and leaving Hong Kong, I check my email and I received an email notify I left cash in the room safe locker. Yes, I forgot to take my cash when I left. This is no small amount. No one from the hotel took it away. I didn't notify the hotel that I left something behind. I really completely forgot .The hotel contacted me proactively. I am very grateful. I have never encountered such a wonderful hotel in Hong Kong. This hotel will become the hotel I must choose when I go to Hong Kong. thank you.

The restaurant service is amazing. The foods quality is very good and the restaurant staff are welcoming & professional. It is completely out of our expectation. We always have a good time for breakfast. The room is a bit small and require maintenance; service of the guest room attendant could be improved.
