We got a breakfast bomber (chuns with avocado) and a sandwich. Both were delicious. I’m not normally a big fan of breakfast burritos, but I thought the chuns was very tasty. It’s also a cool experience to eat outside next to many wild chickens that sometimes come very close to you.

I’m so glad we stopped here! The food was superb, we devoured our plate and had to order seconds. It came out fast! Food is fresh, staff was helpful with suggestions-being that it was our first time here.

Excellent food and service! Highly recommend! Edit: we enjoyed Kono’s so much that we came back for more! The salad was extremely fresh and the pulled pork was delicious! So Yummy!

Cute roadside place with a friendly atmosphere. The chickens are everywhere, and they WANT YOUR FOOD! 😂🐔. But they'll keep their distance, and you can ignore them. We got the biscuits and gravy & the Waimea breakfast burrito. Both delicious. I, personally, had the burrito, and I've never had a better one. It was filling and so good.

We stopped at this place for lunch and the pulled pork tacos were truly delicious! The food and smoothies tasted fresh and perfect for a quick and filling lunch. And they accommodated gluten free. Highly recommend!

My nieces and I stopped here for breakfast while we were in town. The group ordered the biscuits and gravy, the Local breakfast bomber, the Queen, and the Chun. Oh man, so incredibly good!! One of the best places to eat on the island and a must try if you are visiting.

A good breakfast spot. The B.E.A.C.H. sandwich and bowls were good,

We ordered the kalua pork nachos and the biscuit trio and the kalua pork and Portuguese sausage were great! However, you could definitely tell they substituted the quality for the rest of the food. They use powdered eggs and biscuits that are too soft to hold up. Overall, I would say we were pretty satisfied with our meals, and we'll be back to try one of the bombers!

The kalua pork was cold and tough/hard to eat. Rice was super bland too. Salad dressing was good though. Didn’t bother finishing the plate. Hopefully they knew the pork was cold before they served it? - I was really excited to try this place too since it came highly recommend.

Ordered biscuits and gravy. Could not order eggs over easy. Informed eggs scrambled for the day earlier in the morning. They tasted like old eggs too. Biscuits were likely not made on site either. Bacon was wafer thin and so uniform in appearance it was likely bought pre-cooked. Very underwhelmed. Sorry Kono's.

We ordered old school and bomber with Oreo milk shake. All of them were delicious but my most favorite was old school because it has some cabbage inside. It was good balance with meat and bread😊 I just wish the store is more cleaner inside. That’ll be great!

Good pulled pork!! They were able to make it in a bowl for me. There aren’t tons of breakfast spots in the area but this place hit the spot after shark diving 👍

Worth the hype! I got the Chum burrito. They don’t skimp on the meat and it tasted amazing. I also got a smoothie (“Wipeout”) which tasted great too. Staff was friendly and the aesthetic really makes the experience.

Great little spot to grab breakfast. I had the biscuit combo with gravy and it was great! Wife had the breakfast burrito and also was great. They have a few tables inside and outside but not many and I wouldn't count on them being available. Otherwise yet another fantastic take out Hawaiian place!

Came here for breakfast with my father in law and son. We all ordered the Chun fully loaded (which adds sour scream, avocado and jalapeños), I got mine without potatoes. This burrito was massive, and that pork is the absolute star of the show. Super tender bursting with flavor, the other ingredients play complement very well. I'm glad I got mine without potatoes; I took a bite of my son's and the extra starch was a little too heavy, but mine was perfect to my preference (son and FIL later agreed they should've gotten it without potatoes for the same reason lol). The woman at the counter was warm and friendly and gave great recommendations. I also got the guava limeade which wasn't too sweet (the ultimate compliment for any sweet drink). We were able to get a table inside, but there is outdoor seating with wild roosters playing cleanup. The place has a nice vibe and you can tell it's a beloved local favorite.

Fun atmosphere & great staff. Was looking for something a little lighter for an early lunch. Grabbed a Kalua pork plate lunch and enjoyed it outside on the picnic tables in the shade. Most plate lunches I had in Hawaii had rice & Mac salad. I appreciated the switch up with green leaf salad & the homemade dressing was delicious. The pork was flavorful & the mango BBQ sauce was very good. Highly recommend. Everything on the menu looked delicious. Parking was easy to find around the shopping center.

Staff friendly and efficient. Helpful with menu and explanation of different options. Ordered the Old School sandwich with chips and soft drink. Bread was fresh and soft. Chips were thick crispy and crunchy. Nothing stale here. Tables are in the shade so eat here on hot days. Solid 4 for takeout quick eats.

Great food! Great service! Highly recommended. Grabbed a breakfast burrito here in my way surfing. Easily accessible, right off the main road in Haleiwa.

Initially, I saw Kono’s awesome reviews online but when we got to Haleiwa, we decided to see what other places there were for breakfast. Thankfully, we ended up at Kono’s. The staff were friendly and helpful (we couldn’t decide what to eat). Our breakfast hit the spot too! We had their Haleiwa bomber burrito with jalapeños and their Kahlua pork sliders in Hawaiian rolls. The pork in both dishes were juicy and flavor packed. The burrito reminded me of my San Diego home, but I did wished it was spicier. I also loved eating outside of Kono’s with our chicken friends. Good food, chill atmosphere and beautiful weather converged for a perfect start to our day.

Great food and bbq, quickly served and easy parking with the other shops around. Sweet onion chips are good too

We ate here twice if that tells you anything. The breakfast burrito was amazing and my family enjoyed the lunch burritos as well. Also, like everywhere else, there were chickens roaming free.

Delicious! Seating is all outside along the sidewalk. My husband and I got ours to go and drove 5 min up the road to a park and ate breakfast! Beautiful sights and amazing food, can't get any better!!

Very friendly staff, good food. Had a little issue with our order, they forgot one of our breakfast burritos. But when I got it, it was very good. Also the outside wildlife was amusing….
