Conveniently located right at the Hilton Hawaiian Village it was one of he only places that was open late after arriving into Honolulu. The staff was very friendly and attentive. Even during busy times we were seated quickly. While staying at the Hilton we went there often. It’s a little pricey but the food is great. Drinks were good and portion were generous. They have a good amount of vegetarian options too. When I went, I had to check in via a QR code to fill out a COVID form.

First night in Hawaii and also at the Hilton Hawaiian Village, we needed food and we needed it fast. The Tropic Bar & Grill fit the bill. We had a fairly short wait for a table. I had the tropical iced tea to drink which was brewed perfectly, strong and with a little tropical sweetness to it without adding any sweetener. Our son had the Taro based veggie burger...how cool to have a veggie burger made from the local protein...he loved it and it looked pretty good too. The french fries were excellent. My wife and I shared the tropical fruit plate which was okay. It was supposed to come with a "caramelized pineapple dipping sauce" but the waiter didn't bring it, and when we asked about it his response was a little strange...sort of an "oh we don't always bring that." I mean it's on the menu...bring us the caramelized pineapple dipping sauce, please! He did and it really enhanced the fruit (and the fries for that matter.) Though the fruit was not quite as fresh as we wanted. (especially for our first fruit in Hawaii.) A lot of nice looking drinks walked by too. For vegetarians there are also a few salads and nachos. (And note the veggie burger isn't on the dinner menu...just the lunch menu) so this place isn't ideal for vegetarians. The prices were quite expensive...$25 for a veggie burger...was clearly a "resort tax" of some sort which we encountered almost everywhere on the property.

Andrew our waiter was perfect. Fast, competent service… Great food and drinks… Island ambiance… We loved the menu depth. The only caution is it’s not inexpensive and you may have to wait a while to be seated.

    1. Crispy Calamari - Do not order. VERY BAD. Oil and soggy. 2. Nachos - Do not order. Cold and taste less. 3. Farmers Salad - Must try. Amazing. Chicken could be better. 4. Burger and fries - Good.

Well of course cost is as normal for Hawaii to which I don't care to pay so long as I get the authentic flavor to which we did not. I got the Brisket and she got the Shrimp and Turf. Brisket did have a good sauce, was tender, and amount was good. But the flavor was average to be in a place called Hawaii. Shrimp and Turf was actually better and some good chili sauce. But again nothing over the top. We also had the Blue Hawaii and the Hula Girl drinks which were good and no complaints there. Not a horrible place, great view and at least worth a try but only once.

This was the first place we ate when arriving in Hawaii! I had the ribs, my wife had the popcorn shrimp, and our son had the spicy sweet and sour chicken! Everything was amazing! When the chicken was a little too spicy for our son, they re-made it without the sauce. First class service!!! We will definitely dine here more!

Amazing, The wife and I sat on the beach two different times on our vacation and had an absolutely amazing time the bartender makes drinks exactly the way you want them. The wait is quite long but it is definitely very well worth it. The food is amazing their menu is very small and select but if you get something on their menu it is extremely delicious. The chefs really act like they care each order comes out looking like it’s a picture from Google images beautiful. The only thing is that their prices are very high but it’s directly on a beach in Waikiki so you can’t expect anything different. 10/10 would come here again

The food is amazing! We've eaten breakfast several times here during our stay at the Hilton Hawaiian Village. We've tried multiple offerings and have not been disappointed. The Ube pancakes and Poi Pullman French toast were delicious.

Best meal at the village. The evening views are picture perfect. Waygu Brisket was done well. Excellent drinks both times we were there. The staff is professional and helpful. Overall great ambiance.

I don’t know why this place isn’t rated higher?? The service was fast, food was delicious! My hubby had ribs that literally fell off the bone, I had a salad with balsamic dressing and shrimp. Sooo good! Plus the waitress was very nice!

Restaurant is located in the Hilton resort and looks right onto the beach. I was worried about visiting since the reviews weren’t too good but we were satisfied with our food and the service. I had the coconut shrimp which had 7 large shrimp and a huge portion of tater tots. My partner (vegetarian) had the veggie pasta which he enjoyed, and I actually liked it more than my shrimp. Prices are high as it’s a resort, but the portions were also very large. I’d recommend splitting a meal here given the price and portion size. Service was great, food came out fast.

Huge and tasty breakfast. I had a fluffy meat omelet that was not too greasy. Great service. With bottomless coffee option. Eating outdoors is usually a good thing. They do make an effort to keep birds out with netting, but there were still too many. Still a good vibe right on the beach.

Ate here about 4 times over the last 2 weeks. Great beachside restaurant by Hilton Hawaiian village. Can’t beat the location. The food is reliable and great. Their burgers are great. Colleagues had the poke bowel and said it was way too spicy for them, but still good. The portions are classic large American sizes - you’ll likely be taking home leftovers. The prices are high but normal for location in Hawaii. Expect mains to be around 27-45 USD, cocktails 15-17, beers 10-16 USD. Drinks are generously poured and delicious. The staff are friendly and service was good all times we went. Tamara was particularly great. A celiac / gluten free colleague was with us and ate here twice - poke bowl and burger with fries, and had no issues. I was super surprised but apparently the fries were safe for them. A great experience.

Tropics is fabulous! We ate there twice during our 4-day stay at the Hilton Hawaiian Gardens resort because it was so tasty. The poke nachos were HUGE, and every bite was delicious. The burger with the brisket and bacon on it was insanely good too. For drinks, I recommend getting their version of an Arnold Palmer with pineapple juice instead of lemonade. Considering we went at very busy times, they accommodated us super fast and even got us a lovely outdoor table near the beach when we requested one. The service was fantastic! Cindy in particular was the absolute best and was so sweet. The restaurant is open air, but it was super hot or anything inside. The ambiance is very chill even when it was busy. I highly recommend giving this place a shot!

This was by far some of the best food we had in Waikiki. Great service and an awesome location. The food portions were more than generous, even the kids meals. The smoothies were to die for! Located on the beach so the fireworks on Friday nights are right outside the restaurant.

The whole experience is fine. Good was ok. Service was sufficient. Environment was beachfront but there are lots of beachfront. The chicken bites were well cooked. The coconut shrimp were a bit soggy. The signature burger was the best but was a bit dry. I've eaten here a couple times and it's a convenient spot if you stay in the Hilton but otherwise you can skip it.

Excellent views of the ocean and very good service but I would give the food a 4 on a scale of 1-10. 🫤 Would expect much better at this price range and location. Our group had several different items. All were just ok. Wouldn’t recommend chicken nachos or boneless chicken bites… Caesar salad was pretty good. All in all I wouldn’t go back for food. Would stop in for a drink with that view but that’s about it.

This was our first meal on the island. We were seated right away and handed a menu, I loved the waiter, he was adorable with a great personality. Hubby ordered a poke bowl (which he had been waiting since we left California) I order nachos,.he said his poke bowl was fantastic and would definitely be back. I definitely recommend this place.

We used the Tropics for breakfast each morning while staying at the Rainbow Tower. Currently there are not many options as the buffet is not open. It depended who you got as a server as to how good the service was, but overall it was really good. More importantly the food was excellent and pretty good value for money.

Very expensive place and with decent food. The drinks are good as well. If you don’t have any other option I would go here. Their appetizers was good. They have beautiful sunset view of the beach with outdoor seating. Enjoyed the vibe and the food. Since it’s inside the Hawaiian village, you pay for the price.

It's a very okay hotel restaurant. The staff is great. It's often quite busy because it's the most obvious place to eat if you're staying at the Hilton. The food is good but not amazing. The portions are big. Go here on your first day or last because it's easy. It will be perfect for that.

We had the shrimp and chips, the bacon cheese burger, and the nachos with a salad. The french fries were cold so he brought us a plate of steaming hot fries that were excellent. All the food was good. The setting is beautiful sitting outside very close to the beach.

Great service and the breakfast food was good too. We had a meat lovers omelet and a Acai bowl and both were great. Large portions too. Our bill was $61 for the meals, plus coffee and juice. Not the cheapest but convenient if you're staying on the property.

We were honestly impressed by the takeout kid's meal chicken tenders and fries we got for our son. I mean, it was pretty legit for hotel bar food. Note that right now how takeout works is you place your order at the bar, then wait outside, and then come back to the bar to pick up your food after 10-15 minutes.

Pricey pricey pricey but not the greatest of service or flavors in food. Overpriced entrees approx $40 for most

What a fantastic way to celebrate our anniversary. This place checks every block: great food, great service and great atmosphere. The calamari was awesome and grilled mahi mahi was perfect in every way - as were the wonderful drinks. I'm a fan of mai tais, and thier's is first rate. I also tried something called a "Lovely Hula Girl" that was nothing short of a beach must have! Topped off the dinner sharing a huge piece of dark chocolate tiramisuthat was velvet to the tongue. Splurge a little - you owe it to her and yourself!

Good option for a night you don’t have reservations. We went for dinner one night and lunch another day. All our food was good, especially the nachos with pork! Good drinks too.

The food was delicious and the waiter was so helpful I believe his name was Andy. I would love to visit again. The French toast can be eaten without the syrup soooo delicious. The beef in the Loco dish...^^ winner.
