Made reservations online pretty far in advance. Small bar with great ambiance. Lots of good whiskey options. Every drink we ordered was explained to us in detail. Definitely worth it!

If there is a better bar on the island, I can’t find it. Incredible, detail-oriented and imaginative cocktails that have deservedly won many awards. Every ingredient is scrutinized and evaluated by the crafter of their drinks list. If you like Bud Light, this place is not for you. If you care whether your rum is column still or pot still aged and it’s origin and aging process, this place is for you. Very large whiskey collection as well. The small food list is very good and pairs well with their cocktails. Small and a little hard to find in an office building, this place is truly unique. One feels like one is in a Bond film while inside. Even if the reservation list is full, it is possible to walk in.

This is one of my favorite bars to go to when I'm in Honolulu. It's super small and intimate which is nice, but also bad because it gets filled up quickly. You should definitely try to make reservations ahead of time. The selection of cocktails here are wonderful and carefully thought out. I don't think I've had a bad drink here. I really enjoyed the Imperial cocktail (a modified version of the old fashioned) and if you like the smoky and piety drinks, try the In The Soul. The Yuzo Sour and Sagano Smoke are also good cocktails. The bartenders are super friendly and knowledgeable about the cocktails. I highly recommend going to this place if you enjoy some quality cocktails and spirits.

This place is incredibly romantic and definitely more on the upscale side. But they won't turn their nose up if you show up in shorts and a tank. The cocktails are genuinely unique and worth savoring over a long sit. And the staff?? Down-to-earth, helpful, knowledgeable and warm. Don't skip this place. Pro tip: if the building is locked,.you can access it on the Ala Mona Blvd-side.

This slightly hard-to-find place was well-worth the walk around the building. Once we finally found it and walked upstairs, we were transported to a land of amazing cocktails. I started out with the drink I first fell in love in the photos - the earthy, lightly sweet, swampy-looking Matcha Old Fashioned. What a way to start! Next up was The Umami - a bright yet rich flavor that went down way too smoothly. Then I decided I needed another drink that I don’t even remember drinking. Anyhoo, this place is the best. The people are great and nice and helpful. I would literally drink here every night if I could.

These drinks were out of this world. Not to mention that they received Worlds Best Mai Tai in 2015. They have very limited seating so be sure to make a reservation a month in advance if you want a guaranteed spot.

Drinks are of true hand crafted quality. Service was top notch. It’s a good hire intimate atmosphere. We tried 4 different cocktails and all was high quality and amazing flavors and presentations together with a Friendly and thoughtful service. We wanted to come back but unfortunately bar was closed on Monday. Def recommend for whiskey lovers.

This was a phenomenal experience. Dim lit atmosphere with cozy seating. The drinks were fantastic and the staff is very friendly and accommodating. Highly recommend you make a reservation as the place stays pretty packed. While getting a table as a walk in is not impossible, you'll have better lick with just reserving ahead of time. Highly recommend for those who enjoy cragyed cocktails with a speakeasy type of ambiance.

We dipped in here real quick since the whole place was rented out 20 minutes after we got there. The staff is just genuinely nice people who love their craft and man are they good at it. The drink from creation to consumption is an event, but not in an overdramatic way. Just right. The bartender explained the ingredients, the flavor pairings and the feeling of the drink. I can't explain it better, just go experience it for yourself!

Came to Hawaii for our honeymoon and this is our new favorite bar! The bartender made all the drinks in front of us and explained each ingredients to us. He was very friendly and made the night very enjoyable. The cocktails are very inventive and we tasted flavors that we had no idea go so well together. Make sure you make a reservation through Resy and the $40 deposit you pay upfront will be deducted from your bill. We made a res for 7:30 and was able to catch the sunset before at the pier nearby. What a wonderful experience to conclude our last night in Oahu! Thank you Bar Leather Apron!

Fantastic. Scott’s attention to detail is amazing. You have his full attention while making your cocktail. He explains everything he’s doing and has time to answer your questions and have some fun conversation. He’s very willing to create a cocktail for you as well.

Before going in, I checked out a few of the critical reviews and they made me a little nervous. After my visit, I can confidently say that anyone who doesn’t like this place either had a bad experience (people and places have off nights, I get it) or just don’t understand and/or appreciate the concept. If your idea of a good cocktail is one where you can’t taste the alcohol, this place isn’t for you. Anyway, if you appreciate thoughtfully crafted cocktails, an intimate atmosphere, and superb service, you should definitely make a reso for Bar Leather Apron. If possible, reserve a seat at the bar so you can chat with the bartender and watch your drinks being prepared. Only thing I’d warn against is coming hungry - the small plates they offer aren’t much to write home about.

This is perhaps the best cocktail bar I've been to. The attention to detail was impressive. I thoroughly enjoyed drinks I'd never have ordered under other circumstances. Highly recommend, will visit any time we're in town.

My hubby found this place while in Hawaii for work. He couldn't get in. So when we visited Hawaii, this was a must. We made reservations and had no issue getting in. The place is small, maybe like 9 or 10 tables (if that). The staff was great and took great pride in describing the drinks that they pour or brought to the table. The drinks are pricey, but we'll worth it.. not a lot of food to munch on, but this place is a great place to start your night (so you can savor your drinks). If you can sit at the bar to watch all the drinks being made.

Very nice cozy bar in Hawaii. Drinks were very well presented and the service was top notch. Only thing is, selections of drinks are heavily focused on whiskey and smoky flavor. If that’s your thing, this is definitely your place.

I was blown out of the park with this bar. The bartenders were so knowledgeable about the different drinks and whiskies. I loved the whole experience and story behind each drink. You definitely need to try their smoky drinks. The presentation is quite the experience. The prices for the cocktails are also quite reasonable for what you are getting. Bring your fully charged phone because you'll be taking a lot of videos. The washrooms are located outside of the bar. Make sure you make a reservation!! It's very tiny!!

After a lot of searching for a Bourbon cocktail bar, I discovered this sweet intimate spot near downtown Honolulu. The cocktails we had were balanced and delicious. I was surprised by the very competitive pricing on much of the Bourbon. Great spot to check out if you’re looking for great speakeasy vibes and cocktails!

Cocktails were excellent. I had the Mai Tai which was delicious and well balanced. Service was phenomenal. The staff were so dedicated to making sure we enjoyed our experience. We loved Bar Leather Apron.

Inside the financial building you will find the best drink and cocktail place in Oahu! The style is 1920 and the drinks comes with style! Informal and show like presentation of a large variation of drinks/cocktails. Most based of fine base ingredients, but also a lot of homemade concoctions of oak, tobacco or other taste/smell aged/barreled bases.

We love this place! It's awesome to have craft cocktails in Honolulu. We are pretty spoiled from the bar scene in Portland so we can be a little persnickety about our cocktails-ha ha. We have not been disappointed yet. We look forward to our next visit and also await the opening of Bar Maze! Update from 9/2021, love this place even more if that is possible. Amazing cocktails and precision execution from friendly staff! Bar Maze was everything we were hoping for!

Our first time and we loved it! Drinks were amazing and we were very well tended too.

Arguably the best craft cocktail bar in the islands. The detailed explanations and process make the delicious drinks an educational experience.

This intimate space is in the Topa Tower, above a restaurant. Justin Park is the primary mixologist and he crafts some of the most interesting cocktails I've experienced. Oxaca Smoke, a smoky Mai Tai, Yuzu Sour and a Red Shiso Smash were fabulous. There is a limited selection of food; we had the Smoked Duck Baos, Ginger-Beet Hummus and the Kanpachi Crudo. Make a reservation at the bar and prepare to be entertained and informed.... highly recommended!

Even though it’s located in a commercial building, we loved this intimate cocktail bar. The “E Ho’o Pau Mai Tai” was amazing. It was fun watching our bartender add the absinthe and wood smoke to the drink. Be sure and order “Nana’s Kim Chee Clam Dip.” It was delicious.

😐 We checked in here for a late lunch and it was a bit of a disappointment. The food was better than it looked like and the beer was alright as well. The place was almost empty and there were a lot of pigeons. I gave only 3 stars for the service because you order online and there's little interaction...
