Great little bar. Stopped in here for a couple of hours while the rest of the family had a nap. Full of really friendly and welcoming regulars. Had the nicest, cheapest and boozy-est cocktail of my 11 night stay here. 1 Hawaiian ice tea will set you up nicely for the day for about a third of the price of everywhere else. Erin behind the bar was easy to chat to and even started handing out homemade cupcakes. Perfect place to get out of the midday sun, I wish my family had more naps

The bathroom was nice and clean but just one. The upside that this place has a bathroom unlike many American restaurants in Hawaii. The drinks were also cheap and strong. This is a great place to relax and meet new people also the bartender was friendly and good at remembering names.

The fact that this bar is rated above 2 stars is insane to me. I love dive bars and have worked in them many times. This place lacks all the charm and comfort of a dive bar. Bartenders are rude and inconvenienced by your presence. Lots of homeless people hang out around the open windows on the sidewalk. Googling “best bar in Honolulu” should not bring this place up by any means. The drinks are cheap and decent, the only redeeming quality.

No food served here. Great atmosphere. Awesome bartender, Jeff. Met new friends, Sarah & Blake. So fun, especially with drinks 🍸 $5-$10. 👍🏼

Tasty drinks at a good value. Bartender was very friendly. It was a pleasant surprise to see a can of corn in the bar. Will come back!

Cheap drinks friendly staff great location. You can't ask for much more. You'll have to get here early if you want a place to sit it's a pretty small bar I'm not sure what's up with the other half of the bar that doesn't seem to be used for anything other than standing room to wait for the bathroom.

Strong dive bar vibes but clean! Great bartender and affordable drinks especially for Waikiki. Loved my Mai Tai! Thanks to Imi for quick and friendly service!

This is a fun, cozy dive bar with great service. The drinks are cheap and delicious and the bartender April was so friendly. It was busy but she was running around making sure everyone was well taken care of. This is a place where anyone can have a great time and we will definitely be back.

Fantastic bar in Waikiki. Drinks are cheap and strong. Beers are only $4. Staff is super friendly and chill. Hawaiian iced tea is really good and strong as well. If you need a chill place to grab a beer in Waikiki this is the spot

I was hoping for a laid-back local bar, and it was perfectly that! Friendly and fun crowd. The bartender was cool as well. My brother was back in town in Waikiki, so I made the drive from Ewa and was so glad I did.

We always find ourselves gravitating to Honolulu Tavern when we're in the mood for a laid-back evening with good company. The cozy atmosphere, tasty bar food, and the thrill of a competitive game of pool in the back room make it our go-to neighborhood pub.

A bit of a disappointment based on the photos. It's a dive as described... I love dive bar/restaurants this is what they say and less. The bartender was sweet

On a chilling Friday the 13th, I stumbled upon a small dimly lit bar, tucked away in a forgotten street of the city. The bartender, Jonathan, a spectral figure with sharp glasses, tattoos swirling like ancient curses on his skin, and a short salty beard, beckoned me closer. "For the brave," he whispered, his voice echoing with the weight of a thousand souls, "I have PBR tall boyz and cold Fernet in the cooler." As I sipped the bitter brew, I realized the stories were true. The bartender, they said, was a ghost of a man who'd once served the finest spirits to the living, and now served them to the spirits of the departed.

Best dive bar in town, NO POOL table though, you can thank Covid for that. Now serving Tostadas every Tuesday for $2 dollars, beers are the best bang for your buck.

ID check in process was pretty uncomfortable in general. First the bartender asked for ID before we came in and then a woman came up to us and told me to get behind the sign so she could check ID.. I was 1 of a group of 4. The other 2 went in easily. Then we headed toward the back of the bar seeing as the front was crowded. The bartender in the back bar was non-existent. Mostly just conversing and hanging out with customers at the bar tables. Watched multiple different people go behind this one bar. And the bartender from the front room had to come take our order stating that if we want to order, they only take it if they have time. We stayed for one drink.. left immediately after.

Small little dive bar with a great atmosphere! Not overly priced and Erin was a wonderful bartender, easy to get along with! We will definitely be back before our time in Oahu ends.

Perfect place to visit in a town full of expensive drinks. Really great, friendly staff who pour strong drinks. They were very nice to 2 tourists from Colorado!

A very relaxed bar, the crowd is more of locals which I love and always meet someone new. The staff is Amazing, and the owner is awesome. She knows my order every time and always feels welcome.

If you're looking for a dive bar, you've found it. Very small, but exactly what we were looking for.

I didn't actually go to the tavern. I was visiting the Hawaiian King Apts. The bar is located in the lobby frontage. It's very small but good intimate space perfect for friends and couples to have drinks. I would go there. Update: I was able to go in and have a cocktail the beers where cold and I didn't have to wait on service. The front did open to a larger back room where there was more seating. Drinks ,pupus to lunch/dinner menu. Very nice quick fix for a bite and thirst

Awesome local tavern with stiff drinks and chill vibes. Jeffrey was our bartender and he was very personable and helped us with places to visit during our time in Hawaii! Cleanliness in the bathroom was questionable but didn’t expect golden toilets at a dive bar.

If your looking for a local dive bar away from all the tourist traps come here. Cheap drinks, all locals, fun atmosphere. We made it a point to end our night here every day.

Always good. Great prices. Prices like the bars back in the states. Been going since late 2020. Had plenty of great experiences. I’d say older crowd. No food provided but there are plenty of options near by and you can bring food in the bar. It’s laid back, down to earth.

Great spot! My husband Doug and I will definitely be back the next time we’re in Waikiki. Erin, the bartender, is absolutely awesome and all the regulars made us feel right at home

My buddy and I were there last May and I will be returning again next month, as I come to Hawaii to celebrate my birthday. This place is great. Good stiff drinks at reasonable prices. Bar service also great. Unfortunately due to Covid there was no food, but the atmosphere more than made up for it. The locals are also great, and very welcoming to the newbies. Went there 4 out of the 6 days I was in Waikiki, and will do the same next month. Can't wait to see Steve, Carrie, Sandy and Max again this year.

Truly divey bar in Waikiki. Drinks are cheap ($5 for a lagunitas) and the bartenders are friendly

It is definitely a dive with friendly, down to earth people. Just needs better music.

😐 We checked in here for a late lunch and it was a bit of a disappointment. The food was better than it looked like and the beer was alright as well. The place was almost empty and there were a lot of pigeons. I gave only 3 stars for the service because you order online and there's little interaction...
