Shokudo moved from its shiny, cavernous space on the corner to the next one over, the former Angelo Pietro location. The smaller, more modest digs suits them well. Though the less flashy decor may discourage people who dine for Instagram fame, the food is still great and the staff still solid. The menu is smaller and I'd like to think they stuck with what they did best. And yes, the honey toast dessert is still a must-have.

The place is still the same as it was before at its old location. However. The new location feels smaller and more cramped and it is not as nice as the old location. With the new location gone is the mixed drinks. This was a shame since some people in my party really wanted one of the mixed drinks. The food was still really good. Tons of variety for those that love meat or love seafood. The service was decent. Not the best but not the worst. The pricing is still the same. A little on the pricey side. 90 for two and 40 easily for one. They still got their famous honey toast in a variety of flavors for those that love this dessert. I suggest if you want a casual feel for your date or party. UPDATE: Please go before 6pm since the dinner rush occurs then. I did go back for a friend who has not gone before. It was much more pleasant when going before dinner because we were on the side with much more lighting and more attention from the servers. It was a much more better experience.

We got the unagi rice, hamachi carpaccio, lobster dynamite, and honey toast. The unagi rice was the highlight, and the honey toast was pretty good as well. The lobster dynamite did not suit our taste and we didnโ€™t like it at all. The service is pretty good and friendly.

Shokudo is always a favorite of mine and my friend. We absolutely love their tofu! Not to mention the fish is always fresh and the staff is always friendly. I would highly recommend trying for lunch and dinner. Don't forget to save room for the honey toast!

Took my friend here for her birthday. Everything was great. The waiter gave us a great recommendation for saki. The sushi were tasty. The mandoo was crispy and tasty too. The Honey toast is decent just for pics 5/2023 took my date here and they substituted our entree well with no problems. Everything was great. Put in your reservations a week prior. We were seated immediately.

They moved locations to the one right next to the corner one. The place is still big and although they seem to not have AC in the entire facility, the temperature of the place stays very fresh. The food was very good. Order the lobster as appetizer, the garlic salmon sushi, and the Bompi (I think it was called) - a rice bowl with an egg on top. All of it was very good, however the dessert was way too sweet.

They still got it with the honey toast. The service is friendly from everyone we interacted with. We had a new server so the service was a bit slower. We stopped in just for the honest toast and it was worth it. They have validated parking in the back as well.

The deep fried spicy tuna roll was deemed delicious by all at the table (we shared everything). Wife enjoyed her mermaid roll and drank all of my lychee sake. My buddy rated the sushi pizza 6/10. 4/5 stars for the lack of cocktails. Overall we would come back for the great food and friendly service.

Not the usual Japanese restaurant. I heard good things about the place but it looks like they deteriorated a bit in quality. The food was mediocre and the bento box took forever to hit the table. Our company was in a hurry because of being on a lunch break and when she asked the waitress how long they hadnโ€™t even started on her order. The rest of the table was almost done with their food. I liked all the Covid measurements they had in place but the bathroom was dirty and not cleaned from the night before made me question the rest. Would not come back again even though we didnโ€™t get to try their amazing deserts.

Haven't been in a long while but met friends here at the last minute. They were extremely busy from the time I got there to closing. Staff works to try and make the best of hard times with Covid restrictions and a shortage if labor. I feel their pain. Was not bad and the offerings are priced pretty good. Had the Unagi Rice Hot Stone Pot which the manager offered to mix for me, hence, the whacked pic. Was still a good night with friends and hope to be back soon. Free parking in the building as long as you park in their marked stalls on the 2nd floor.

The food was good, till I saw this cockroach in my wifeโ€™s dish. Absolutely disgusting. The manager was kind enough to apologize, so we did not make it a BIG deal. But for future customers, check your food first.

Great food. Of course, must make room for the honey toast!

First time here and really enjoyed it! The service was speedy and the food was great! Fastest I have gotten sushi rolls and sashimi. The garlic edamame is something I wish we had back home. Outside of that not a quiet place if looking for that but didnโ€™t bother us. Not a large place so grab a reservation. Pay by phone when bill comes which was new to me.

There was a lot of fruit flies which only means that there wasnt cleaning properly. The sushi was ok but had better. The decor was mediocre and expected more. The floor was not attractive for this establishment. Overall I would not go back

This place is very good. I got the Chasu ramen and it was very tasty. The yolk was cooked through which I didn't like, but it was still super yummy. My friends got other dishes and I didn't hear any complaints. Two of my friends got items that were cooked in the stone bowl, that was a really cool experience. I got a yuzu soda. It wasn't sweet at all, but it was very very refreshing. We also got the s'mores honey toast which was also amazing. It was really sweet and crunchy.

Itโ€™s somewhat difficult to get in if you do not have a reservation. Iโ€™ve stopped by to put my name on a list 3 times and the wait was well over an hour. When I did make a reservation I was sat on time, the host was extremely friendly, our server was kind as well. I ordered apps for the most part which all were delicious. They gave me a complimentary dessert for my special occasion which was very nice and tasty as well. The crab dip was phenomenal.

Delicious and fresh sushi! We had the all you can eat and we ordered all the sushi they had on the menu. Overall we had a great dinner and the price was absolutely reasonable. Iโ€˜d definitely come back!

Delicious food and a unique looking space. I ordered their Dynamite Sushi Roll and our party of 4 shared one order of their famous Honey Toast for dessert. My only complaint is the service. We came on a Thursday at around 8pm (they donโ€™t close until 10pm), but were greeted as if they were annoyed by us entering as it looked as though they had already started cleaning the tables off despite there being a handful of others there as well. We were immediately told โ€œlast call for drinks is soonโ€ (although it was over an hour later) instead of greeted as if they were trying to discourage us from staying. All throughout the meal we felt as if they were rushing us, which I guess worked as we made sure to leave in less than an hour to avoid the awkwardness.

Sooo delicious! Definitely make a reservation in advance because there will definitely be a wait time (although it's worth it either way!) The honey toast dessert is yummy but HUGE. A half order is more than enough!

We were just here for dinner and it was great! Would highly recommend. Every single staff member was super friendly and welcoming! Our waitress, Squid, was fantastic and incredibly helpful with suggestions. The food was great. The honey toast, alone, is worth the trip.

Every once in a while we come here especially when Kawaii-Kon comes around as a somewhat tradition among friends and family during Kon, we most of the time 9 times out of 10, we come here for the prized dessert of all time, Honey Toast. โ™ก But the menu tends to change from what I can tell because they use a QR Code for their menu... which to me, I find that to be very inconvenient, because it takes some people several tries to load it or download it depending on how well their technological devices work. And even for elderly who may not understand how to use technology... there should be a physical menu option available. But that's just my opinion. The food is great, the service is good, and this is a nice location to treat yourself at every once in a while

**DRINKS REVIEW ONLY** I think I've dined at this restaurant 10 years ago and remember it being good. But this time, we didn't order any food. We had some time to kill before an early dinner so we decided to stop by and order a few drinks. We sat at the bar and due to Covid, they've gotten rid of their reusable menus, which I really appreciate. All you need to do is scan the QR, order, and you can even close out your bill. Then they'll bring you your drinks, which came out pretty quickly. It was also a Thursday at around 3 so it was a weird time. Not sure how everything would be during say a Friday/Saturday night. There was nothing particularly noteworthy about the drinks but just the ease/efficiency of the whole ordering system calls for 4 stars. Plus our bartender was really nice. Overall, it was a good experience.
