Tucked into a hotel, nice ambiance with live music and South Pacific playing. We ordered an assortment of appetizers. I wasn’t that into the crudo despite it being recommended, the lemongrass and other flavors didn’t work for me. Really enjoyed avocado tacos. Kale salad was good, a little sweet. Pasta was also tasty. A little distracted during dinner so didn’t get so many photos.

Live music by the hotels swimming pool. Food and services are great. We tried the pork chop and shrimp paella dishes. Both are excellent. The banana pudding is a signature dessert and is a must-try.. it’s soft and yummy.

Lovely spot for happy hour. We had some time to kill in Waikiki before heading to the airport and found this place kind of randomly and were pleasantly surprised. They have $8 cocktails on happy hour, all of which were delicious and we also enjoyed a cheese pizza for only $12. It’s attached to a hotel which we’re definitely interested in checking out if we ever come back to Waikiki.

We stumbled upon this restaurant looking for vegetarian options and Mahina & Sun’s was amazing! Live music, great food, and great service. Mikey, our server was fabulous. The band was so talented and made the atmosphere feel very welcoming. We ordered the avocado tacos, kale salad, and my husband ordered the swordfish. It was delicious!

Great bar and restaurant around a courtyard with a pool. Very laid back and less crowded than most spots in Waikiki. Excellent food and creative drinks. Live music most nights.

February 2022: Celebrated a birthday 🎉 dinner and tried the Mahina Family feast! The a'u crudo was a great starter. Very fresh tasting fish 🐟! The whole fried fish was the treat. Beautifully arranged with three sauces options that were all good 👍. Other sides complimented the meal very nicely. For dessert, the banana pudding was excellent 👌👍. I could have eaten the whole bowl! For drinks, I had the barrel aged negroni. Was made very well. Ambiance was nice. We had a table inside near the corner. Apparently, it's the one President Obama gets when he comes there. 😀 All in all, an excellent place to enjoy a great dinner!

This was a delight. The atmosphere was peaceful and pleasant. Dinner around a pool with the ceiling open to the beautiful Hawaiian night sky. You could feel the gentle breezes. The service of Mikey was genuine. He was very friendly and made each table feel like we were the only people in the room. He knew the menu items and helped us make good choices. The drinks were smooth and tasty. Food was exquisite. They had live entertainment, it was a joy to listen to Hawaiian music while dining. The music wasn't too loud so you still have conversation. The only small drawback was the hostess that seated us, she was not very pleasant and did not fit in with the great experience that we received later. All in all, it did not overshadow a wonderful dinning experience.

Great tasting food that comes out quick in a casual setting. Definitely affordable in comparison to other area restaurants and the staff is lovely!

Poor management. peak dining hour only 1 chef in the kitchen with over 50 guests sitting outside. Kinda insane. waited 30 mins and never got our appetizers. No apologies from the server or anything. I used to come here every year and recommend it to all my friends. After today this place is officially blacklisted. Avoid !

#covidsafe. We ordered fish n chips (too much batter) and sliders (over cooked) to go. Staff members were keeping everything clean and safe. Bar had a really nice vibe.

Nice atmosphere with friendly staff and service. Food was very average and the menu was small, nothing really special about it. Drinks were decently priced but cocktails did not taste very good. Main complaint is that every cup (including cocktail and shots) and silverware was single-use plastic. This day in age I expect more sustainable practices from the businesses I support, and this one was disappointing in that regard.

So we got there and it seems like the server was not friendly from the start. It felt rushed when he took an order and spoke to our table. He slammed entrees on the table upon delivery and left. We discovered that the item was wrong and while we were looking around for the server he came running from the kitchen with the right order and hasty apology and run away again, the restaurant was completely empty so no excuse for such a rush. All that wouldn’t matter if the food were to be good. After I had only one bite of the entree side I noticed a funny feeling in my throat that I had never felt before. My companion tried the side dish and after one bite felt the same feeling of burning and tingling. We were not sure as what it could be and started to Google the symptoms considering we don’t have food allergies. Google told us that the symptoms we were experiencing is from the acid that burned our throats/mouths and is contained in the leaf vegetable that is in the dish, and suppose to go away if cooked right but otherwise is poisonous. Both me and my companion experienced uncomfortable sensation in the throat until the next day. Terrible experience all together. The leaf is called luau leaf and has a toxin if not cooked properly, we didn’t know that. It is advertised as their one of the signature entrees. We didn’t bother to communicate that to a server bc we already saw how little he cared to start with.

BEST COCKTAILS IN WAIKIKI! All the food and drink was locally sourced, super fresh and the cocktails were so well thought out. Drinks are unique and absolutely phenomenal. Vibes were immaculate! If you are there on a night with live music its even more amazing. Ian and Chris took amazing care of us! Also the coconut water ice cubes were next level delicious

Avocado tacos were really good. I loved the hint of chili with shishito and fried avocados. To my surprise they also had veggie chefs plate which was nothing but vegetables in different styles: steamed, cooked in sesame oil, tamale, and one more. For $28 it was super expensive but I was surprised that it tasted reasonably ok. Husband had chicken noodle soup (err chicken papaya soup), it was your usual soup and chicken milenesse which half a chicken fried with a side of salad. No complaints it was chicken as it should be. We also had their version of whisky sour and old fashion, they tasted good 😊 All in all a good experience on Christmas Day and some good vibes. The pool side table and live music added to the fun.

As one of our last meals in Hawaii, we wanted something local and special. We got the family feast for 6 (there were six of us), two Thai snapper fish and two dozen oysters. It was a bit too much honestly. We could've been happy with just 4 family feasts for the six of us. The fish was good but it wasn't amazing. The sides were great but nothing really stood out to me. The best part of the meal was the oysters. They were super fresh and delicious. In total for six people we spent about $450USD which was quite pricey. Not sure if we will go back.

Breakfast and dinner were delightful! We enjoyed every dish. Each dish had some local elements that made it special and made me appreciate them after my Hawai’i trip ended. The restaurant is in a cute beach theme, designed fashionably on every corner, great for pictures. Highlights of our meal: - Avocados Taco was surprisingly good. I didn’t think fried avocado would be good, but it did! - The pork chop with coconut milk with lomi tomato vinaigrette sauce was so tasty that I was sipping it by itself. - Waffle was made like a Belgian style. The texture was slightly crisp on the outside, yet soft and fluffy on the inside. - Perfectly ripped 1/2 papaya was sweet and yummy, perfect for after a meal. - Guava mimosa was good!

I thought the fish was actually a little bland. But the banana pudding dessert was amazing! I also liked the soup and crudo!

I would come here again and again if I could, a little hard when you live in Australia though! The food was fantastic. A clever mix of Asian and Hawaiian and really interesting flavours. And the service here was top notch. The knowledge that our waitress had on the drinks blew my mind. What a cool place. Would love to stay in the hotel next time 🤙

Cool decor, chill live music, great ambiance. Food was delicious and so were the cocktails and desserts. Everything tasted very fresh. Our server was super friendly and gave us tons on tips and recommendations for things to do in O'ahu. I was celebrating my girlfriend's birthday. They gave us a complimentary dessert. Overall, extremely positive experience.

This place really impressed me - from the food to the ambiance everything was top notch. Extra bonus is that this joint is run by a local who tries to source mostly local ingredients. Everything we had was incredible and fresh - key call outs to the octopus, swordfish, ahi, and fresh fish shashimi-style app with green onion shavings on top.

What a showstopper! We had the feast, which came with a whole fried 2-pound snapper and loads of incredible sides and incredible banana pudding dessert. We were staying in the Surfjack, so was a no brainer to eat there, but it should be a destination spot for anyone in Waikiki. And the cocktails were amazing too!

This place is a gem, and what makes it special is the people that work here. They are genuinely the most down to earth friendliest people we've ever had the pleasure of meeting. From the cafe, to the bar to the dining table, everyone was so helpful and kind. The cafe serves some of the best coffee we've had in Waikiki and the restaurant delivers on the flavours and creative presentation of their dishes. We had the Mahina family feast and it was awesome. The deep fried snapper was cooked to perfection. Our server Deevon was fantastic and personable. To top it off, they have live music playing to compliment your dinner. Absolutely fantastic. Mahalo for making our mothers day such a special event, definitely will be back again. ❤️

There is live music almost every night. The seafood is fresh!! The pizza is authentic, home made excellence!! Lanai Menu, Dinner Menu, Drink Menu is all fuego!! 🔥😋. Poolside seating, plenty of room throughout the restaurant. Awesome staff!! My new favorite hangout in Waikiki!💯

Overall really great vibes. The Seared Ahi Tuna was incredible! The vegetables on the side were really great too! Locally grown taro, purple sweet potato and a Hawaiian fern along with onions and chili. The "Escape" cocktail was good as well. Definitely would recommend.

I was so impressed with this restaurant. It was our first night in Hawaii and we had such an amazing meal and time here. The server was fabulous and so kind, the food was quick and delicious, and the live music even had a few couples dancing the night away. Highly, highly recommend!

So the food here was pretty good. We ordered the naked pig pizza and an order of the avocado tacos. The pizza was really good. Somewhat thin crust with a crispy bottom, my favorite. The tacos on the other hand were good, definitely not worth the price. 2 tacos for $11 and the are small. The atmosphere there was really cool.
