Great happy hour spot to kick off your night. After a day at the beach we quickly readied ourselves and scooted over for happy hour as we’d heard it would get busy, our recommendation rang true! The place was packed with great energy. Great selections on the happy hour menu, other menu item pricing were not shocking either. Expansive drink menu, pleased with the happy hour choices but opted to stick with trying local offerings. The food was great, not overly plentiful, we ordered 2 rounds of happy hour snacks. Don’t let the small portions scare you off, the prices matched! Cannot say enough about the service! Wow! Front of the house to back, everyone was fantastic! Got great suggestions for the rest of our trip, even received invites to join their group at a beach party the following day! Felt right at home for happy hour!

Let’s kick off with then as as I usually and end on the high. The atmosphere inside is a bit grimy and feels like it needs a deep clean. Bathroom is a mess and usually seems to be that way. The chairs feel like you’re sitting on pallets with cushions. The outside seating is great and I’d suggesting getting that. The service is hit or miss. We waited for quite awhile to get our water refilled and usually the service isn’t that great after your initial seating and order. Have been a few times and ordered the following: Hamachi garlic - consistency with this dish is always good. A really good default roll with a nice flavor and crunch. Umami fries - Absolutly loved these fries. They have a nice taste of honey and a small little kick on them. Jidori chicken stir fry - this was one of the best dishes I had here. Very flavorful but the portion is really small for the price in my opinion. Wagyu beef fried rice - this was a very big disappointment. The flavor was almost nonexistent and the Wagyu was no where to be found in the dish, with the exception of 2-3 very small cubes that blended in with the rice and were barely noticeable. Would not order this again. Honey toast - really good desert and a good value for the price. Easily can accommodate 3-4 people. It was large. Last thoughts are that I would come back, however I’d rather try other places as well as the overall dinning experience was just adequate nothing special or above par.

We really enjoyed it here. We sat at the sushi bar and ordered “Izakaya” style where we just took our time and ordered one or two dishes at a time. We love doing this to not feel rushed. We started with a platter of sushi and sashimi and the quality was amazing. We followed that up with one of the sushi rolls and some chu-toro nigiri sushi which was outstanding. We then ordered the Jidori Chicken Ginger Karaage and Pork Belly Scallop which were also super delicious. Our server was friendly and attentive and the atmosphere was really good too.

The food here is incredible. We enjoyed the deluxe sushi platter, grilled shrimp salad, and kobe beef sliders. I recommend a table on the patio if possible to enjoy the fresh air as the AC inside was a little much for us. Plus we had a view of the performers below. For families with young children, we did not see a kids menu but the kids loved the Kobe Beef Sliders and the grilled shrimp salad. I think the shrimp tempura would have been a great option for little ones as well.

THE SUSHI IS EXQUISITE… and usually beautifully displayed on whichever plate. It’s flavorful and gorgeous all at the same time. The drinks are just as lovely and interesting looking. The waitstaff are all fabulously nice but, the downfall is the service is a bit slow on a constant basis. They used to have a happy hour that was second to NO ONE in Waikiki and now that’s gone, sadly and hope for its swift return soon. The eggplant appetizer is stunning and delicious. Go here, I’m never disappointed.

I’m giving 3 stars because the food was good but not worth a waiting time of around 1 h 45 minutes between getting registered for a table, ordering the food and it coming. Food was good but it could’ve been better, steak wasn’t cut all the way so I had to break it with my hands (they give you chopsticks not forks). One of the sushi rolls tasted like soap (our server was very nice and he took it and didn’t charge us for it). They also made us wait way longer than the initial estimated time.

I took a friend to eat here for his birthday. We enjoyed eating here. The food was amazing. If you have the chance, you should try the French toast ice cream! The wagyu steak were pretty expensive but that is expected for premium quality steak. I thought the vegan sushi were pretty delicious but my girlfriend didn't like it. She really loved the orange coliflour. I would definitely come back here.

We enjoyed it here so much that we came here twice during our trip to Honolulu! The rolls are kind of small but that made it perfect for sharing several rolls between 3 people. The vibe is perfect--has indoor/outdoor seating, a selection of mixed drinks, and a menu with tons of variety. It is located in the Royal Hawaiian Plaza shopping center, which is an easy walk from most hotels on Waikiki Beach. We made reservations both times, but probably didn't need to in early February since there was numerous reservation times available both times. Probably a good idea to do reservations on weekends or busier times of year though. The Hamachi Carpaccio was so fresh. All the rolls we tried were: Hamachi Garlic, Spicy Ahi, Black Peppered Ahi, and Rainbow. We ordered the Black Peppered Ahi and the Rainbow two times because we liked them so much. The pepper is so so good with the fresh ahi, and the fresh cilantro on top takes it to the next level. The rainbow roll is wrapped in soy paper and loaded with fresh fish. Such a light and versatile roll, I would order this one every time. The other rolls were very good too, but the above two are my favorite. The vegetable tempura was good, tasted just like any other but nothing wrong with that. The butterfly pea saketini was great. I'm pretty sure it had gin in it. Very solid americanized sushi. This isn't an authentic sushi place which you will find all over Oahu. But if you're craving a lil sauce on your roll and some cocktails, then this is the place to go.

This place was really crowded. Waited over an hour. Food was a hit and miss. Emperor roll was surprisingly good. It was really unexpected. I didn't think I would like it. My main dish was misoyaki butterfish and absolutely hate it. The fish was either old or overcooked, there was fish was falling apart with no structure, it was super buttery and oily as if they dumped the fish in 3 sticks of butter. As seen in the pic(that was exactly how it was served), the miso glazed only stuck on top, it was way too salty to eat. Jalapeno was completely burned... Sangria was too sweet. Waiter/waitress were really slow and took forever to get a service from them.

Our party of 5 was seated right away at opening. Staff was courteous and answered questions readily. The God of Fire roll was superb, spicy but not so much that you couldn't taste or appreciate the other flavors. The green tea ice cream was such a good follow up to the spicy and was delicious as well!

I'd consider this place a must-try if you are in the area vacationing and enjoy sushi/japanese. We ordered an insane amount of food and everything tasted spectacular, no complaints at all. Our server was great and all of the food we ordered came to the table much faster than we expected. Environment was lively and they were playing good music overhead. Highly recommend!

FULL STOP. Looking for Sushi in Waikiki? Fantastic. No need to search out off-strip walk about "local" fan fare. Service is fantastic. Price - value? Yes. Skip the place across the hall. The guys tonight were the best. I've walked by this place many times, finally dropped in to check it out. Sushi quality was shocking to me, not what I expected, thinking it's gonna be lame tourista joint. Nope. Sit at the sushi bar, skip the tables. They also have a cool full bar in the back - trust me, you won't be disappointed. Cool ambiance too.

I have been here before and it was great, so I came back. I was not disappointed. I had the brussel sprouts, spicy tuna crispy rice, and the pork belly scallops. All three were really good, but the spicy tuna crispy rice was phenomenal.

The food was very tasty and well put together. I got the peppered ahi sushi roll and it did not disappoint. The staff was friendly and the restaurant was nice and inviting. I will eat here again.

Doraku was a nice surprise. it was clean, nicely decorated and had an open air lanai in one corner. We ordered a few rolls and some sashimi just for a light snack but everything was so fresh and the flavor combinations so good that we declared it as our new favorite in Waikiki. the rolls are huge, definitely bring your appetite. The God of fire roll was amazing, so many great textures. The Garlic Hamachi roll was fantastic. We loved reading through the menu and finding rolls that we’ve not seen at the other sushi spots. Can’t wait to go back

We waited over an hour for a table because the hostess lost our reservation and place in line. Was the food worth the 1+ hour wait? Nope...the presentation of the food was very attractive and appealing but it did not taste particularly impressive or special. Doraku's location is super convenient but there are other comparable restaurants in the same complex to eat at so I probably would not endure the wait again here and just wall across to have Japanese noodles or Chinese dim sum.

Located inside the Royal Hawaiian Center on the third floor. It gets quite crowded and loud inside. Large parking garage with validated parking. They have a nice bar and lots of seating. The quality of the food was excellent. I enjoyed everything we ordered. The sushi deluxe combo was so good I forgot to take a picture lol. The sushi and sashimi felt a little over priced though.

This place is absolutely awesome! This was our first stop after arriving from airport and wanting some fresh local caught sushi and sashimi. Our server Andrew was so incredibly friendly and knowledgeable about the menu items, it really made our entire visit so much more special. Every thing he suggested was delicious. We had the Black Pepper Ahi Roll and the Hamachi Garlic roll along with oyster shooters. The oyster shooters were awesome and had quail eggs and uni in them! The service was so exceptional I’m so glad we went here

Always a must stop in Waikiki. Went with big party, need reservation as can get busy. Assume will wait if none. Food is good. Not a huge fan of fried rice but fish is good quality. Reasonable prices for Hawaii.

We came here for dinner and got a great spot by the balcony. We ordered some Poke for starters and it tasted very fresh. The drinks were decent as well. The rest of the Sushi was fairly average but did taste fresh compared to a lot of other places I've eaten in the past. Seemed to be a slower night so service was fairly quick.

The sashimi and nigiri are okay here. The sushi rice was a bit more tangy than standard. If you prefer sashimi you can eat in one bite, this is not the place to go. The cuts of sashimi are large and thick, and require multiple bites to eat. The quality of the sashimi was also okay, not the best but decent. The other dishes we got such as edamame, tempura and cauliflower were also fine. The seasoning was good, but the cauliflower was a little sweet. One good thing is that the portion sizes are large. Staff were friendly and we were seated quickly for our reservation. Overall, good place but not mind blowing. I would come here again with friends if they asked, but I wouldn't go out of my way to eat here

AMAZING. Well worth the money. The fish was soooo fresh! The service was excellent as well. One of the best sushi restaurants I’ve ever been to. Nothing back home compared.

Average service and slightly above average food. We didn’t have their sushi but we particularly liked the hamachi carpaccio (ordered both times we were there), chicken kaarage and hamachi kama. Not pictured but also enjoyable was the grilled king oyster mushroom.

Phenomenal sushi. Extremely fresh and huge pieces- the sushi was extremely big compared to the rice it was on! Quality was excellent. Hawaii is far from Kentucky but definitely will try to come back to have this experience again.

Excellent food and service. Much more choices than just sushi. Wait is long of you don't have a reservation but can't complain about that. Highly recommended if you're in Honolulu.

Awesome experience all the way around. From the exceptional service to the fresh fish…amazing! The manager Chris was kind enough to get us in after last seating, so very appreciated. Turns out he’s an Atlanta Falcons fan as well…small world. Chris, you truly understand delivering excellent guest experience, so Thank You! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
