I used to love going here, the food was filling and the prices were reasonable. If you’re trying to eat vegan food, this is not the place. The only vegan food option they had (besides smoothies and smoothie bowls) was the hummus sandwich. It was literally just a naan bread with hummus and lettuce and tomato. Would not recommend this sandwich to anyone.

Dedicated parking is the first of many great experiences you will have with Da Spot. The ambience was casual and the approach to getting food was more of a buffet style (think Chipotle). The service was awesome and they took the time to chat with you about the food. If it's a dish with chicken in it, get it. The chicken was moist and tender. The extra sauce for the rice made the meal even better. The seating and restaurant itself felt very local Hawaiian. Generous portions and the pricing was perfect.

The staff are so nice! Very helpful and patient. I ordered a, "mini" size and it filled a take out box container and was less than $7! Definitely some good food and some good deals

Not really sure why this place has high ratings. Came here at 10 and the food was lukewarm, side salad was inedible, there was only one person at the counter, and the service was eh. The best part of this visit was the half-cold Gatorade. I’d suggest something else.

This place is unbeatable! Everything tastes fresh and healthy. I got a mini plate (coconut chicken curry on their saffron rice and the papaya seed dressing on the salad). I also got a small strawberry smoothie which was refreshing.

One of my favorite place for no fuss, affordable and healthy food. It really is a huge help that their meat is halal too. Their portions are generous, there's a lot of options to choose from and their service is exceptionally fast and friendly. We also use their catering service for our work events as they provide delivery. Can't recommend this place enough!

Went here for lunch because my wife saw that they served Halal food. Turns out the 'halal food' was the fish and vegetables and rice lol. They did have lamb which was halal but it didn't look good so we didn't get that. The place is nice and large, staff were friendly and they gave a decent amount of food for the price. Kinda false advertising with the halal part or maybe my expectations were too high idk, but the food was fine.

Da Spot is well-priced with good portion sizes. Their mochiko chicken is especially stellar. They don't load it up with breading, so it isn't too oily/greasy like other places. They also have really good fried noodles and curry options! We used Da Spot to cater one of our events for ~150 people and they were great. They are very friendly and helpful. We had a last minute change to our event, and they were able to accommodate it on very short notice. I am very impressed with Da Spot and it is a good, local eatery that I highly recommend.

The food here is amazingly good and well priced. You must absolutely stop here. They have a ton of selection, lots of different chicken and rice dishes and fish and rice dishes as well. They also have a ton of different salad mixes, smoothies, desserts, etc.

Solid local food option. Market style. Order from the counter-( we had the Morrocan Cranberry Chicken w/ Choice of rice and includes a salad and a Chicken Gyro) smooties and soda available as well. Look for the parking lot just for Da Spot guests! Mahalo!

So my sister was really stoked to bring me here because she said the food is really tasty and you get a lot for your money. I was excited because I hadn't had curry in so long and they had lots of curry options. You definitely get a lot for your money, but I was disappointed in the food. It lacked flavor, it was soggy // I think it had been sitting for awhile, and it gave me diarrhea. It makes me wonder what ingredients they're using... specifically the types of oils they're using. I'm pretty sensitive to bad oils, so I'm assuming this was what made my stomach upset.

Really tasty food, decent prices and quick service. I’m not sure how long the food had been out but that didn’t matter because it was delicious and we ate every bite!! Plenty of selection for everyone. Will definitely be coming back. Only complaint is no restroom and a few of the options were low/out.

Super tasty food and they really stack the box full with food. They have a nice open eating area and the staff is really chill.

These guys have been around for years and I’m glad they survived COVID as many small eateries have had to close up. Prices are still very reasonable considering many restaurants seem to gauge patrons unnecessarily. I had my usual which is the fish gyro. It will take 10min to make so if you’re in a rush, this might not work for you. Today had all chicken dishes with a couple curry vegetarian options. All meals come with a choice of different rice options, and tossed salad. You can change up for salad for a nominal fee. I’ve also had the plates and they are delish. Shakes are extremely reasonable with many many options. The only downside is parking. Shhhh I park at Long’s and walk over.

Got the lemon herb coconut chicken and it was fantastic! The vibe was immaculate and the staff is friendly. Come here if you want delicious food for a good price (for Hawaii)

Da Spot has an interesting selection of plate lunch items that are unusual by Hawaii standards. As such, it's pretty cool to try out or to visit occasionally. However, the portion sizes are just average while the plate prices are pretty high. In addition, it's status as a health food store and proximity to the university means that many of the employees are hippy college students. These employees tend to have...not so great customer service skills.

Amazing “Chipotle Style” service with a Mediterranean twist! Highly recommend the Moroccan chicken and the Egyptian Curry chicken. Their smoothies are also out of this world! They were one of the only restaurants open on Memorial day, and everyday from 10 a.m. to 9:30!

  • 5/5 James E. 7 months ago on Google
Excellent variety of dishes to choose from. I tried the Egyptian curry, which is very delicious. Prices are so reasonable! If I live in Honolulu I would eat here every week.

The food here was amazing, and the portion size was quite generous too. The smoothies were made with plant- based milks, which I really appreciate as I'm lactose intolerant. The best part is that the smoothies are super yummy still. Staff were really friendly and veo efficient. Plus prices were great, especially when considering portion size. Absolutely recommend if you're in the area. It was a much better alternative to the food available at the University campus where I was attending a workshop

Since we only ordered the açaí bowl to go, we were impressed by the size and the quality of it. A great hidden spot to get the açaí bowl fix for sure!

Very tasty food! The curry was a good flavor and packed with veggies cooked perfectly. Lots of options to choose from, really great prices. Friendly staff that answers questions without being annoyed or rushing you. Will definitely return!

My personal favorite on the island. Teriyaki chicken is out of this world and I can't replicate it for the life of me.:( Perfect with the saffron rice and a coconut smoothie! Other menu items are hit or miss, but this combo never disappointed. Prices very reasonable for the quality of the food!

I came in looking for smoothies and left having eaten a mini plate. I didn't really know what I was walking into when we got here. I saw the different selections for entrees and changed my mind on what I was looking for. I tried the Moroccan Chicken and couldn't say no. If you're looking for a quick or hefty but this is the place to go. The mini plate included the entree, salad, and 2 scoops of rice. Plenty for someone who may be hungry. If you're thinking about it... Just give this place a shot.

This is one of the best places to eat! I was a regular customer because the food and service was amazing and worth the walk from their parking location. Although I haven't been there in a long time and today was filled with surprises. The parking they had was enclosed with a black material and their sign was gone, called to ask about the parking and they didn't know anything about the parking most likely new employees so it's not a bother and was glad to find parking. Another thing was the portion was not the same :( lol yes its that worth it but I think today the food is still great but its not the same as before which was the best!!!!! Need to come back again and hope it gets better

Great value. The Moroccan chicken is excellent. The chicken parm is aptly named (still great). I love the saffron rice, and I love that things are not exactly the same every day. It's quality food and affordable. Japanese Curry was a nice treat. Thai Chicken Curry was very tasty. The baklava has a bit more cinnamon than I'm used to, but honestly, I loved it... maybe the best baklava I've had (certainly the best in several years). Sides are not as good as the mains, imo, but still great.

This has been a favorite lunch spot for years. Staff is friendly and the process to order and get your food is quick if you're in a hurry, so we like to come here at lunch time for that reason. Selection changes regularly, and they always have at least one good veggie option (eggplant parm and the veggie Thai curry are my favorites). Generous portions for the price, as you get rice and a salad with your meal. Parking in the area can be a challenge at lunch time, but if you don't mind walking a block, you can find street parking (or take a chance and park across the street at Long's... Not sure if that's allowed or not). Highly recommend for lunch or dinner, whether you're grabbing to go or eating in.

Always delicious! Hole in the wall type of ambiance; food is always great, awesome healthier options that taste fantastic. One of the places I always recommend to people and no one has ever been disappointed. It’s a different setup than a lot of eateries, but once you’ve been and know what it’s about, it’ll be a go to option

I travel to Hawaii at least once a year to visit family, and I'm always ravenous after that looong flight from Boston. Da spot is always my first stop once I get on the island. The food is so delicious, I usually get the lemon coconut chicken but everything else I've tried is yummy. The smoothies are amazing and the prices are very reasonable. Love it!

They are great, but I couldn’t sit there because I do not have a vax card. I am pregant. I had to stand outside and eat my food. It was hot and unpleasant. Sad.
