I can't recall how I heard about this hidden gem, but so glad I did. Definitely a meal highlight from our recent vacation. My husband did an omakase experience (which I certainly would recommend if you don't have any restrictions with seafood) while I ordered off the regular menu. The food was plentiful and prices reasonable. I can't recall all of the types of fish he tried but one bite was better than the next. Sushi was also fresh and delicious. This place is BYOB which is AMAZING! We had an array of beverages and they were kind enough to ice everything down and provide appropriate glassware. If you're lucky maybe you can sample some of their sake stash too... Staff is incredibly welcoming and fun to boot. Tip:MAKE A RESERVATION! EARLY! This place is tiny with extremely personal service.

Food was great and well done by a master of his craft, yet service could have been better. We were in the downstairs private room, and felt rushed and very minimal explanation on the dishes. I haven't been there to eat at the sushi counter, however I imagine that would be a much better experience to interact with the chef. For the price, and being in the private room, my opinion is service needs to step up a bit.

This was by far my favourite food experience in Hawai'i! The hosts are absolutely wonderful, the service was just amazing and they were extremely generous. The sushi was delicious, fresh and well prepared. We brought our own wine and had a great night! I would come here every night if I could. :)

Morio’s Sushi Bistro was one of the best omakase sets I have ever tried. The different variety dishes presented were all amazing and interesting. The fried fish, and the miso fish had a very distinctive flavor and so flavorful. There were many different types of sushi and they were all delicious. As someone who is not a fan of raw mackerel, I found Morio’s mackerel to have a very fresh and non-fishy smell and flavor. My favorite thing that Morio served us was the otoro. To top out all off, Morio was extremely kind and gave us complimentary otoro sashimi and extra dessert. Great customer service and I’m really glad I went.

Epitome of FRESH, soft fish. Good priced hand rolls and Uramaki rolls. BYOB! Very cozy, aloha vibes from the chef. You need to reserve or call and hope for a cancellation which I did and got lucky tonight 🍀🤩

Hands down, the best omakase available anywhere in Hawaii! Fabulous service and amazing food. Make sure you make a reservation because this place is rather difficult to get into... And for good reason. Can't find anything better.

Amazing sushi, shrim tempura, garlic chicken, nato pizza, sashimi, uni, toro, unagi, spicy hamachi and, more!!! Market price and variety based on availability. High attention to detail and mouth watering flavors! Parking is street or valet.

Awesome dining experience. Some uncommon flavors for a sushi restaurant but very pleasing to the palete. Can't wait for my next visit.

This is a small place and not overly decorated but it's comfortable and the food and service were excellent. Mario is a great guy and takes his craft very seriously. I must try for sushi aficionados.

I used to go to Morio's waaay back when he had a little place in Kuhio...it's been a long time since and I was a bit nervous hoping qualities's not changing...Yes!!! It was all delicious and Morio-san was great! Once you're inside and sit down then the staff will treat you great too but this particular guy came out when the restaurant open was not friendly nor welcoming at all...(He could be shy though...) But Morio-san is still great at what he's doing. I don't drink any alcohols but my friend was(her first time) super happy about BYOB and sharing "Kanpai" with Morio-san. It's hard to make a reservation but it's all worth it!!!

Food is always good, Morio is very personable and fun to talk with. BYOB, but bring enough to share with others. Will be back again...

Best on the Island and for a marvelous price. I always get the Omakase and love the fact it's BYOB.

Great food and service! Make reservations because they have limited seating as they're a small restaurant. Also it's byob so don't forget to bring your beers!
