After leaving Piggy Smalls because they don’t serve Vietnamese food on the menu, mr.Duc himself greeted us out front. He runs the entire operation and him and his wife run a fabulous restaurant. Mention you park across the street and you get free parking! He’s served Hawaii for 40 years and his food and service will bring us back!!! The steak was incredible and the baguette was amazing!

VERY IMPRESSED!!!🥰😊 We ordered 12+ dishes here and not even egatratinh slightly, impressed with every single one of them. Not only the taste/flavor and quality of food is 5 star, also the service and the presentation is 5 star! Lobster Bisque: I am not easily impressed with lobster bisque but this one is subtle, light, and the chunks of lobster are perfect~! The Vietnamese Coffee here is amazing! I would highly recommend the iced version Must Try ALL 3 of these delightful desserts; 1. Affogato ( rich, fresh espresso over mildly flavored, perfectly paired gelato) 2. Creme Brulee (salted, caramelized top !) 3. Coconut & banana tapioca pudding (beautiful combination) I was introduced to this restaurant by my friend Toan and I am so thankful he recommended it Really looking forward to coming back to Ducks Bistro again~!

You can not ask for better service. Duc makes you feel like you're eating in his home for dinner. Small menu and everything was cooked and presented to perfection. Nice mix of vietnamese and french that is hard to find this good. Great recommendation for the eggplant side, probably the best I've had. It's more of a family style sharing, so you can order a bunch of dishes and share.

Our favorite dining when in Honolulu. French Vietnamese, family style. Fabulous wine list, many French wines. Full bar. Best escargot ever! Love green papaya salad, lobster bisque, Mekong basa fish, beef Saigon, crab cakes, lamb, and duck with Grand Marnier.

Duc’s is a family owned restaurant of 29 years. My fiancé and I had the pleasure of meeting and being served by the entire family during our dine in experience for my fiancés birthday. The family is just wonderful and the French-Vietnamese cuisine truly cannot be beat. The atmosphere is cozy and romantic. We will absolutely be returning in the future!

Family owned/family style dinning where you feel like family upon entry. The food is made with love and spectacular craft. Hands down the best crab cake I've had in my life, and I live in Seattle. The perfect amount of crunch and just enough lemon to really make the crab shine. Truly a hidden gem. Ian guided us with great recommendations and really turned our casual dinner into an amazing experience.

Just happened to find this place thru google and it was an awesome experience. This is a family owned business and they are so sweet and kind. The food was out of this world. I highly recommend this place to anyone that is in the area Wish they were closer to home.

I grew up in hawaii but have had the chance to travel the world including spending a lot of time in France. Duc’s is as good as they come — perfectly executed French and Vietnamese food with a local home feel. 10/10 would recommend!

Wow. During my first visit to Honolulu, this was by far the best place I've eaten. Only really enjoying two eateries on the island. Everything I had was delightful. I went twice. The family who runs this place is just beautiful. I will eat here every time I visit from now on.

Duc’s has been around since the early 90’s. It’s an upscale viet/French bistro and everything on menu is great. This little China town joint has survived the test of time. You can expect the namesake, Duc, to greet you at the table most nights. He’s a nice guy with great food. Definitely a great spot for a nice dinner.

My boyfriend and I had dinner here last night for the first time and it was great! I liked the decor and ambiance, service was amazing, and the food was delicious! Started with the escargot and a ginger martini, both of which I would recommend! For dinner the fish (opakapaka) and lamb were recommended and that's what we had. Delicious! And although quite full, we got the tapioca and there wasn't a trace of it left when we were done. I've lived here my whole life, no clue why its taken me so long to eat here, but very glad I finally did!

Very nice French Vietnamese restaurant in Chinatown Honolulu. Owned by a friendly and efficient couple. I had the lobster bisque, the steak Saigon and house Pinot Noir, all of which were very good. If you need a good place to escape Waikiki, this is a great choice.

There wasn't a single bad dish and everything was amazing. Favorites were the duck dishes (pate and Saigon) and the pork belly. The owner Duc was the kindest person and made our dining experience so much fun - we will 100% be coming back.

So good. We had the pan fried fish, the eggplant, and curry shrimp. All delicious. The staff is really nice as well and the decor is cute with pictures from Vietnam.

Always an amazing meal served by this wonderful family. They create extraordinary dishes served on white table clothes and cloth napkins and always a fresh flower adorning the tables. Always lovely to dine at Duc's Bistro

Relaxing environment, good service. Beef tartar was very good, they did not put too much egg in it which was great! You can really taste the beef! The bread 🍞 was crunch outside soft inside, it was a good match with the beef tartar! The spring roll was also very good! Interesting way to eat the spring roll with fresh greens! Saffron rice was tasty! Vietnamese coffee was just ok, not as good as we expected. Overall, the price was good in Waikiki.

A co-worker and I resumed our quarterly splurge lunches … we returned to Duc’s Bistro for a quiet and peaceful lunch. Duc’s hasn’t changed and that’s welcome to us. It remains an oasis of quiet in busy Chinatown. I started with a Hendricks gin & tonic and ordered Foie Gras, Escargot and Wagyu Beef Tartare. The foie gras came with slices of papaya and a berry compote. The escargot was served with mini loaves of warm bread and the tartare came with slices of toasted baguette. The tartare needed a touch more seasoning to me; I would have liked whole grain mustard and olive oil and/or a raw egg. The foie gras was perfectly cooked; I do not care for ripe papaya but my co-worker scarfed it up. The escargot was very good. We ordered the duck two ways, Duck Saigon and Duck Grand Marnier. In retrospect, we should have ordered another entrée as it was too one note for me. The duck could have been slightly rarer (is that a word?); the sauces were fine but I had expected more of a difference, based upon the ingredients. The duck was served with a bowl of saffron rice; a nice counterpoint to the slices of duck. I had a glass of Cabernet Sauvignon with my duck; perhaps a Merlot would have been a better choice. I ended with a cup of coffee … delicious! Final thoughts … Duc’s Bistro hasn’t changed and to me that’s good. The food is very good, the prices reasonable (for what you get) and I have no issues with the service. Recommended!

The cuisine is authentic Vietnamese flavors with a French flair. Full service bar with an abundance of liquors and wine. Ambiance is classy! Monsieur Duc and his family are the most gracious! We had an amazing dining experience. I will be a regular customer!

Wonderful restaurant. Everything was excellent from start to finish. The wontons are to die for but the rest is of the same quality. Reservations recommended and be sure to call in advance to reserve Mr. Duc’s pho!

What an incredible experience. The best restaurant on the Island. Family owned we were lucky enough to chat with the very hard working founder who is still at it in his mid seventies. They pay attention to detail and are so friendly and helpful. We loved the crab cakes as a starter and the wine list is great and reasonable. The salad features farm to table vegies and a great dressing. The local fish over the top wonderful ad the duck was superb. The saffron rice and the French baguettes were amazing and I must say the creme brulee is better than anything you have ever had in Europe or the mainland. Just an extraordinary find!

A nice quiet place with excellent food and service. Step away from the tourist spots to enjoy this French/Vietnamese take on food. This is a FAMILY OWNED and operated restaurant. Our waiter was the owners son and not only was he knowledgeable he helped us make the right ordering decisions and let us know if we were ordering too much or too little food. My wife and I really enjoyed it. Try the pineapple martini! There is street parking as well as a parking lot right across the street ($3 and hour pay station)

My husband picked up dinner here and was charged significantly more than the online posted prices. We received small amounts of ‘edible’ but bland cold food. Do not recommend save your money and eat at the number of other delicious places in China town.

Duc's is the bomb. Family owned and operated. Service and food both excellent. The best we've had in Hawaii for sure.

Duc's Bistro has never disappointed. The dishes are always spot on and service attentive. Hand sanitizer stations have been added around the restaurant (on a previous visit we were spritzed at the door) and vaccination cards are now asked for.
