I first visited Merriman’s back when they first opened in 2018. I’m so glad this place has grown and blossomed into an incredible dining experience. Everything I ordered was delicious, and thank you, Vinny D., for the outstanding service. I started with the Caesar salad and soup of the day, the lobster bisque. The salad was crisp in texture but a bit heavy on the dressing for me; they had tomato crouton, which was different but flavorful. The lobster bisque was creamy and had some shrimp included. Then followed with two fish entrees; I had the fish tacos, and my father had the fish special. The fish taco was beautiful; it had some spices, which gave it a little kick. The best part of the meal was the fish special; it was soft and tender yet crispy. It was paired with asparagus and jasmine rice and a savory sauce. I looked away for one moment, and my father had already finished the dish. I also got the mango iced tea which was super refreshing throughout the meal. After my meal, I understood why people rated this place so highly. The dining experience plus food quality is a combination that can’t be beaten. I will be returning with family and friends, and I hope the experience and food continue to elevate to the next level.

Excellent. The food was fantastic. The service was professional and always there, sometimes might be too much :) They we’re very busy, and we didn’t have a reservation, but the receptionist was so nice to squeeze us in. We didn’t regret to stop by. The food is fine, many interesting dishes to try.

Excellent. Menu was varied but not too adventurous, portions were generous, taste was great, and prices were fair. The space was perfect for a work meeting or family get together, as well as for someone just wanting to grab lunch. Service was excellent; very knowledgable and approachable staff. While at a distance this place may seem like an exclusive fine dining experience, it isn't. Its very warm and inviting and the focus is obvious: people and good food.

The scallops were fresh and cooked to perfection. The restaurant was a little louder than I expected but not too loud. This is fine dining that doesn’t require a reservation months in advance. The servers were attentive and offered their own suggestions about the menu items. I enjoyed myself here because it gave pure romantic vibes on the island. The beach is close but that’s the focus of the restaurant which is in contrast to other fine dining on the island.

Wow the food here is unreal! Our server Jonathan was awesome too. He had great suggestions. The special was the ahi tuna with gnocchi and veggies. It was amazing! The beet salad was a must try. The drinks are very tasty and unique. It was well priced for what you get.

Visited here for the first time here and we were impressed! The food, service, and freshness of their food was outstanding. Our waiter, Kaile was awesome! Celebrated a small birthday dinner and I’m so glad we did! Will definitely come back when we’re back in town.

so glad we were in the area to try this restaurant! such a great space with great staff and live music. so many of the menu items have an interesting twist to classics without getting too complicated. i had taro hummus as an appetizer and i was absolutely blown away, and the fresh caught fish of the day was fantastic with the ginger pesto topping!

The restaurant lived up to its reputation. Although I do prefer the Maui location slightly better. We started with the clams and a Greek salad. My husband had the Ono special and I had the lobster pot pie. I am stuffed but we still ordered the bread pudding. Ridiculously good!

Everything were fantastic. Food service atmosphere. Can't comment on the price since my friend paid, I believe this place is above average in price. Main dishes were grilled fish and lamb chop. Perfectly cooked and seasoned. Hummus was tasty and breads were fantastic. Good selections of beer and wine. Good place to splurge.

We went to Merriman’s with a large group and the ambience was clean, modern, fun, and open. It was spaced well. The most impressive thing apart from the appetizers was the service, impeccably friendly with great attention to detail. I loved every appetizer - especially the shrimp and escargot. My ribeye was also cooked to perfection with greatly rich whipped potatoes. I tried some of everything and enjoyed it all! Merriman’s was recommended to us and we will continue to recommend it to others!

Loved the ambiance. The waiter, Francis, was so knowledgeable, full of personality, made our dining experience enjoyable. I ordered the Caesars salad with fried green tomatoes and French onion soup. The wagyu beef sandwich was tender and delicious. The ribeye steak was Ono. We also had the Mediterranean salad and topped it off with lilikoi Posset, lime coconut sherbet and chocolate purse. Everything was delicious and everyone showed so much Aloha. We want to go back there to Merrimans again. ❤️

We went here twice; once for lunch and once for dinner. Both times we had phenomenal service, and at dinner time we actually had a wonderful live performer. He was fantastic! Everything that we ordered was delicious, and the ambience is perfect. It is expensive IMHO, even coming from the San Francisco Bay area. But everything in Waikiki area seems to be a bit pricier. And this is a brand new up-and-coming area. It’s a really great area to walk around. Lots of great restaurants and a brand new Whole Foods. We also were surprised to receive a delicious and delectable birthday dessert for my good friend.

Merriman’s has been popular on the islands for a while and we’ve enjoyed some of their other locations (and branch offs). This location was…ok. We were unenthusiastically greeted and sat, otherwise the service was good. We were there for happy hour and the prices were decent for a place like this. The food was hit or miss, the Shrimp and Chips Shrimp were a bit overcooked and tough, while the chips were about normal. The green beans were great. We also had salads which were ok, the fish I added was fresh and well cooked although a little expensive for the amount. This place also apparently expects guests to cover their cooks, as they add a 4% surcharge for the kitchen staff. I’m all about paying the guys in the kitchen a good wage, but put it in the price, no be like Spectrum adding on fees you can’t escape for basic service.

During a visit to several islands my wife and I stopped by Merriman's as they advertised using local ingredients. We were most pleasantly surprised at the quality of our meal! From the appetizers and cocktails to the main course and desert we were extremely satisfied. We enjoyed many fine restaurants during our vacation but Merriman's was our favorite. Definitely check out the Maui onion soup and Merriman's Mai Tai!

We went for the Christmas dinner, everything was great minus my lobster, it was hard and zero taste, and it was 2 small pieces of meat, extremely dissatisfied with it. Mostly shell, I figured that was customary for a place like that until I attended another fixed prixe dinner at another similar establishment, the one piece of appetizer lobster was bigger and more flavor than my entire meal at Merrimans.

Food is amazing!!!!! From the mussels to the pig quesadilla, the veggie enchiladas, & the bread pudding is to die for !!!! Would definitely come back if I am visiting Hawaii again. Kaile our server was very friendly and knowledgeable about the menu items. She also gave us some tips on things to do in the area! We came here for my husbands birthday dinner/our honeymoon and Kaile brought us a out complimentary ice cream with a candle to celebrate!

A treat yourself restaurant in Waikiki. Solid menu and great service (thanks Kyle.) Chicken was superb. Maki special (scallop /shrimp) was fresh, tastefully prepared, though maybe 1 scallop/shrimp short. Loved the desserts 🍨, go for the bread pudding.

Food was amazingly good. We had the oysters, bread and chips and hummus dip and it was 10/10 But then the entrees came in and I had a chicken skillet and it was very filling and just amazing. 100% recommend. Also our server was really nice and knowledgeable with the menu.

My favorite part of the Merriman's experience was their pianist! He was an incredible musician and enhanced the ambiance. Their food was good, possibly a little overpriced. Be aware of the dress code; do not make the mistake of underdressing.

Superb dining with a casual-ish atmosphere. I’ve been to Merriman’s many times for both lunch and dinner and am always impressed. They do everything they can to source ingredients locally in Hawai’i and everything I’ve had is delicious. Try the hummus plate appetizer and the daily fish special. They also have a nice full bar with a decent whiskey selection and craft beers.

Giving this place 5 stars. Food and service is excellent. Very tasty food. Can just go for drinks and appetizers or order those delicious entrees. Ambiance is great. Decor is tasteful done. Prices $$ to $$$. FYI they automatically charge you 2% for kitchen fee and 20% gratuity for large parties. Our party is a party of 9. Wouldnt mind paying this much as long as the food taste really really good - and it was!!! I will be definitely coming back for more.... 😋

Outstanding dinner at Merrimans for my birthday. The food and service were perfect. We sat outside which was a little windy, but enjoyed our time there nonetheless. We started with the avocado and cucumber salad which was delicious with a hit of spice from the sliced jalapenos. I had the mahi mahi fish special which was amazing, perfectly cooked and I wanted to lick the plate the sauce was so Delicious. We also had the chicken which is a good option and my friend couldn't finish it. It was drained perfectly and you could taste the layers of flavor.

So blessed to have Merrimans here! These guys are fantastic! Everything they do is soo ONO!! The Big Island Beef burger and Morrocan fish burger, mexican sweet corn and more..plus the service is Wonderful! No more Chubbies for me, better ingredients, taste, service and great place to sit with a view right here. Kamaianas, do your best to support these guys. We need to keep quality restaurants and crew like this in business during these difficult times. Mahalo my Merrimans mates! Aloha 💜 🤙🏾

We are huge fans of Merrimans, and have experienced all of the other Merrimans, on Maui, Kauai and the Big Island. This location was the only one we hadn't been to.... The ambiance is wonderful, the food delicious, as always! Paul, our server, was great! The Wagyu burger was amazing! It may not be on the beach ... It is still one of the absolutely best restaurants you can eat in.

The only reason for the 4 stars.... we had first eaten at the original Merrymans on the big island. The mac nut fish was better, more of the yummy sauce and a larger portion. Just wasn't up to the original. The french onion soup was really good. I think i have only had one other occasion that i have had better in Salt Lake City. The waitress was great, and the outside seating was quite nice.

We had such a lovely experience here at Merriman’s. Their burgers are delicious and juicy with great flavors, along with their sides, fries, tacos, and more. I also had a salad with a nice seared fish, which was soft and very tasty. The quesadillas are on the salty side, but when paired with the kimchi, and sweet sauce, they have a perfect balance. Their deserts were excellent as well. They weren’t too sweet and were quite addicting to be honest. My personal favorite was the bread pudding. It’s a must! I would definitely not skip out on this place!

9/2022 Been here a handful of times. Always good, attentive service. Selections on alcohol and food items could be better but most people seem to like it anyway. Not my particular cup of tea but it's a decent choice in the area. The ambience alone will make up for any perceived shortcomings. They gotta add JD to the liquor menu, hence the straw for the three stars!Enjoy though! ✌️

Enjoyed our dinner at Merriman’s! Special thanks to Cody our server and the Dot Dot Dots for the lovely music. It’s our last dinner on vacation and couldn’t have asked for a better meal and service. Delicious Lolokai foam Mai Tais, the fish+shrimp+ chips and the steak with gratin potatoes. Not to mention that Cody brought us out a special dessert as we were celebrating our anniversary. Definitely worth it from the ambiance to the menu, this place doesn’t disappoint.

As with the Merriman's locations in Kapalua and Waimea, this was an excellent visit. My parent and my wife had an excellent lunch, and the wait staff was fantastic. The kimchee was a bit spicier here than it was at the other two locations and, as such, was a bit more than I could take. However, everything else we had was phenomenal, as always. Thanks again for a great visit!

Fantastic! From the service to the food, everything was 5 star! We really enjoyed our lunch as a family. We came to celebrate my birthday. I had the daily seafood special, which was the best green beans, fish, prawns, and risotto that I have had in a long time. The kids menu was nice to have. My son had the chicken tenders. The desserts were over the top! Even the ice cream, which is made in house, was insanely delicious. The pineapple and macadamia nut bread pudding is something I will dream about. It's a spendy date, but if you are wanting a memorable dinning experience in Honolulu, Merriman's is a great choice!

I was so satisfied by this restaurant. There was a wait as we did not have a reservation. They were so accommodating as to serving us drink on the patio while we waited for our table. Once we sat down our server Mark was amazing! Food was cooked and seasoned to perfection! Mai Tai's were delicious, all the drinks were. Ambience was perfect for the evening and they even had a musician singing live who was amazing! I definitely recommend giving this place try!

Met old and new friends for a delightful lunch. Service was excellent, food was fantastic and the ambiance had a vibe of: clean, big, modern-urban without a clinic like atmosphere most modurban eateries have. Kudos to the restaurant staff and designers.

Upscale eatery with fantastic food, great ambiance, and live music. Recommend making a reservation as social distancing means fewer tables. Parking nearby with WholeFoods garage in the downtown area. Popular restaurant for high quality food with great flavor and variety. Simple comforts like their bag-o’biscuits (served with soft whipped butter and pink Himalayan salt are tasty and simple. Pork Quesadilla was very flavorful and crispy appetizer. Wagyu Berger prepared medium with mushrooms on the side was large and tasty. Well prepared and a large portion. Side of truffle fries proved more food than one should eat. The seared Mahi Mahi with risotto and grilled green beans was very well prepared and paired together. Absolutely flavorful and delightful meal. Cucumber Mint Lemonade was interesting but refreshing. Blond Ale on tap was 👌🏼. Great location for an anniversary or celebration dinner. Nice business meeting location. Good for groups (reduced size bc of COVID). Server Kevin is exceptional and John had a great sense of humor!

The CheeseCake Factory clone nobody asked for. The decor is as dull as a hotel lobby and the menu, which might be remarkable hotel room service menu in an airport Hilton in the Midwest, fails here to spark interest. The drinks are poorly constructed, as if the bar tender left long ago and someone in the back of the kitchen is making do with a hastily scribbled recipe on a post-it-note. We went twice, to give them a fair shot, and it's fair to say now we won't be spending another 'date night credit' at Merriman's. If only they had cheesecake.

With such a variety of dining options at Ward Village, it’s hard to stand out, but Merriman’s does so with a creative take on some classics. An escargot dish features tender bites of tako, or octopus, bathed in a garlicky butter sauce, and fish and chips re-envisions the latter with crispy smashed potatoes. Bread pudding gets a Hawaiian touch with Maui Gold pineapple and a generous sprinkle of macadamia nuts pulled together nicely by a rum sauce. Just be sure to make reservations if you’re planning to dine during peak lunch and dinner hours!

This was by far the greatest random restaurant stop I could have possibly run into in the city. My husband had one of our twin boys and they were dropping off furniture from Pier 1. Parker and I were starving!! The oysters on the half shell served in a "smoked" covered dish were a game changer. I could eat that every day!!

Amazing dinner! Ordered one of the nights specials cast iron organic chicken (I wish I took a photo) and it was the most delicious chicken I've ever eaten. 1/2 a chicken with mushrooms and potatoes, a very large dish. Also ordered the biscuits for an appetizer and they were very good as well. Kyle was our server and he was great, very helpful with my order and he knew the menu very well. Other dishes sounded great but it's our last night in town, I'd come back tomorrow if we had another night.
