If you’re expecting this place to be like a Dennys from any of the other United States think again. I asked our waiter for the value menu and he acted offended that I even asked and proceeded to tell me they don’t have that here. Prices were significantly more, which was to be expected for Hawaii so we shared a grand slam. I was expecting the giant pancakes that I’ve always had from Dennys… nope. These pancakes were tiny. All the portion sizes were tiny compared to every other Dennys I’ve ever been to. Our waiter would wait until we asked to refill our drinks and was frustrated with us when we took no more than 5 minutes to read the menu and decide what we wanted. Overall very unpleasant experience. Save your money and go somewhere else.

I was looking for a place with predictably decent food, reasonable non-resort pricing, and good service. I got exactly what I was looking for. I ordered the chicken fried chicken which tasted like it was freshly breaded. Very delicious. I was pleased with the speed and quality of the service. The server brought me a new glass of water just as I was taking my final sip from the first glass. Very attentive service. The only thing that made me sad about this location is that they weren't busier. I find it unfortunate that people get trapped into the high-priced fancy places along the beach, and don't seek out such affordable excellence as Denny's. I mentioned this fact to the server, and he attributed it to the location, which is across the street from the zoo, a couple blocks away from the beach, and at the very southern end of Waikiki. If you are looking for affordable excellence for your dining while at Waikiki, I definately would recommend Denny's.

Even with all the COVID restrictions in Hawaii , Dinners did a great job services us, ordered a great medium rare 🥩 steak which was cooked to my liking enjoyed my orange juice, coffee and 🍳 eggs excellent way to start my day. Excellent customer service. Waitress was really observant and friendly. Great job overall 👏🏾

Always Delicious Breakfast at Denny’s! Enjoy your favorite breakfast option, if you like omelettes, toasts, sandwiches, pancakes or skillets, you can find them here! I love good and delicious breakfast! This Denny’s location has great and friendly staff, they were always careful with our food choices and our kids preferences! Highly Recommend! Enjoy!

Had breakfast a few times there. Atmosphere was very pleasant. Food was enjoyable and tasty. The entrance host Liza was very energetic, friendly and helpful. Her energy was the reason we visited more than once. She makes you feel welcome.

I ordered medium T-bone steak. It was way over cooked. So tough and chewy. Very very thin. They should get a new cook. Omelette was pretty bad, too. I don’t recommend this place. Sorry. I felt so bad for taking my group to Denny’s. Only one server in the hall. Slow service. Did not get butter and jelly with my toast. Took 10 minutes to get the server to come to my table…

Great food but service might be lacking! The portions are huge! It’s definitely a go to breakfast place when in Hawaii if you have time to do sit downs.

We are morning people and love the breakfast options. Today I had the Benny Breakfast and my wife had the Philly Cheesesteak Omelet. Plenty of food to get ready for our hike!! And they even have a 10% discount for military.

Good choice if you are looking for slightly more affordable breakfast. This diner plays classic 50s 60s music, like Bobby Darin Brenda Lee, the Drifters, etc. - it really complements the diner vibe. All the diners I have been to do not play vintage music but this place does. Love that! Interior is well-kept and clean, and portions are good. Walkable from Waikiki Beach. Minimal parking.

We were in Waikiki for five days we had breakfast at Denny's on Kapahula every morning. The food was great the staff was exceptional the manager is an asset to the hospitality industry always friendly and made sure everything was perfect the staff and manager remembered us every day. This Denny's is the way all of them should be. Thank you for making our stay very pleasant. My wife asked for the managers name I believe she was told it was Chris

This is the best Denny's we have been to. The service was second to none. The entire staff from the hostess, server and bus boy were very friendly and approachable. They made sure every aspect of our visit was memorable. I have a granddaughter with down syndrome who was provided with special attention. She glowed from the extra attention, it was wonderful to see. The food for the children came first, staff asked if that was okay before doing so. The food was hot and presented excellently. The entire order (4 adults,2 kids) was perfect, no mistakes. Everyone enjoyed their meals. Definitely recommend this location.

Our hotel was very close to Denny's and even though we had a poor meal in Miami, we had to give it a try. Not world beating, but you know what to expect and I was pretty satisfied.

Great experience! Clean restaurant with good food and good service. We were seated immediately and food was served hot and fast.

We had dinner at Saturday 9/9. Everything seemed fine but then the night came and my wife and me had trouble with diarrhea. Because of that we were two days sick. Probably it was something we shared not good anymore. The starter dips I guess. It wasn’t the best Dennys experience we had.

The server we had this morning 12/1/2023 was Alexander…their service was exceptional. Very nice, very courteous. Anything I asked for whether it be for more condiments or substituting items, very accommodating. Very fast and friendly service. It’s been awhile since my partner and I cleared our dishes. The food was delicious as well….compliments to the chefs. All around I loved coming to the Waikiki Dennys for my first dine in experience. Would definitely come again and recommend Alexander as your server.

Dennys Visited 30 December 2022, just after 1pm The dinner is strategically located on the corner right across from the zoo, not too far from the beach, and a short walk from some major hotels. We visited after our trip to the zoo. Everything was going well. Our party of 4 was greeted and seated promptly. We each ordered, and when it was time for my mother to order, the waitress, Jehanna, informed her that she could order from the 55+ menu, which would be smaller portions at a cheaper rate. My mother opted for this option. The food came out in a timely manner. However, this is when everything else soured. Three of the four orders were correct: philly cheese steak omlet, half zesty nachos, and chicken fried chicken with 2 eggs. My mother ordered salmon but got what looked like Mahi-mahi or chicken instead. When she informed the waitress of the error, she just stated "oh I didn't know," and walked away. So, we assumed she was going to correct the order. But, it was strange that she left the wrong plate in place. After about 10 minutes, she had not brought the salmon plate, so we had to flag her down. Again, when we asked if she put in the order for the salmon, she said "oh" and wanted to leave the plate with the sides that were now cold. My mother asked her to take the plate since she wanted hot sides when the salmon came out. From the time our food came out to when she came to take the incorrect order, she did not check on the rest of us. It seems like she was avoiding our table at this point. She never came back to our table to check on us until she brought out the new order with salmon. We also ordered a t-bone steak dinner to-go, which came shortly afterward. At this point, she asked if we were interested in desert. We were not, so we just asked for our bill. Hopefully, this is an isolated incident, and the waitress doesn't just disregard other guest's orders like ours was. Another thing. We held onto 2 menus after ordering because we were still looking, thinking we were going to order something else. Big mistake. The hostess who seated us noticed we still had them when she seated another party. She said we could just keep one since we were done ordering. That completely turned me off but I guess they were short on menus.

Had breakfast at Denny's three times during my one week stay in Wakiki. Denny's is always reasonably priced and consistent but I ordered the same omelet meal with a biscuit and a side of gravy and it was great one day and okay the other two days. You can see pics of two breakfasts to compare. I would of course go back as Denny's doesn't have quite the long wait as some of the other local breakfast establishments

Great place, great food, great service during the day and very decently priced compared to everything else. I remember Denny's being this good in the states about 25 yrs ago. The staff was awesome. The general manager even remembered us the second time we went in during the day, even what table we sat at and we never spoke to the man until the second time! However we went in once in the later hours of the evening when staff was minimum and the service was not nearly as good. We were one of two tables, 4 people total and the server was horrible. He took slow to a new level of slow. He got our order wrong. He never checked on us, we had to call him over for refills, napkins, utensils, to take our order. The food took about 20 min and it was a small nacho and a burger and the burger was wrong. With that said, it is a great place.
