First time trying this place out since I haven’t been in the area and my brother said it’s good. Can confirm. I had the Chicken Trio which came with Fried Chicken, Chicken Katsu, & Korean Fried Chicken. Mostly wanted to try the last two and man are they good, they give you some BBQ sauce but the chicken doesn’t even need it. Crispy outside with a tender inside. I will most likely come back again before returning home!

Good place for Hawaiian food. But do be mindful of the wait and price

Normally I like zippys... but this location... I had the most disappointing experience. 😞 I wanted to eat in the dining area and we were second in line. The auntie before us was on her phone asking where her friend stay because she was STILL in line for 20 minutes... observing how long the line was going outside the door and around the corner... alot of people began to leave the premises and go to the outside dining hall where there was faster service to pick up food and then go home. 🚶‍♀️ 🚶‍♂️ Observing for another 10 minutes... some workers were ringing up the transactions as they should, which was fine. Some other workers.... were walking back and forth, looking at us, looking at the line growing behind us, as they then proceeded to stand there for a minute or two, then clean the tables where no one was sitting at for the first 5 minutes that we were there... I don't know how zippys runs their business or how they manage their workers... but those tables should've been cleaned immediately if you had nothing else to do and sit the next guest as quickly as possible, especially if you see a growing line of people. I understand if you are busy, but I saw about two or three booths with no customers seated, but in place of that... a bunch of dishes that had yet to be tended to... normally... I'm okay... I never complain this badly...but if business at this specific location is going to continuously be as such... I don't think I'd come back to This location. Don't get me wrong... the place looks nice, it has a drive through, mobile order services, and a nice outside dining hall where we switched over to and were immediately taken care of and got our food, instead of deciding to wait in line for the dining area. (because we were not gonna wait 30 minutes just to be seated and then maybe wait longer just to get our order....) But... this place... I'm sorry... you have a pretty building, and a great parking lot! But that's all you've got going for yourselves.

Eh.....this place is ehhhh. The food was basic, I chose to eat here simply out of convenience. I had the 3 piece chicken plate with basic white rice ( would have preferred jasmine rice). The macaroni salad was decent. The chicken was, well, chicken. I couldn't give it 2.5 so settled for a 3. You know it's bad when you're parking your car and people walking by are warning you to lock your car 🤷. This is definitely not a date night kind of place, it's a place where you go because, you're too tired to drive anywhere else. Oh well......next!

As of this review date, Vineyard has drive through, online, dine-in. All seemed very empty. Most others orders seem quick, but ours was slow. Food was delicious as usual.

I enjoyed dining in because of very friendly and courteous waiters. But the atmosphere change since covid and the experiance isn't the same.

The food was good. Our waitresses were very helpful and attentive!!!

Service and slow

First time dining in since COVID. WAY👏TO👏GO👏ZIPPYS👏 Go online... plug in your contact info for the Ray tracking people. You show up... get checked in, there's a camera that takes your temp... Everything is sectioned off, every other table is seated. Once you're seated... paper menu... normal plates😅, order, eat like normal... pay, mask up and leave. Mahalo Zippys! 🤙🏽

This is a fast food chain that moves a little slow. You may have to wait a while for your meal to be handed to you for takeout only, but the wait is worth it. The quality of the food in this chain that is native only to Hawaii is noteworthy and refreshing. Just the fact that they are open relatively late and don't grill you to check your vac status before you can even order there are enough for me to award them the full register of stars. Freshly cooked and delicious food, reasonable prices, and a nice variety of island comfort foods is icing on the cake.

I would like to know why customers are being assessed 2% surcharge for dining in to "tip " kitchen staff. Isn't it administration's duty to give them appropriate raises???? What's with this. Doesn't sound legal.

Enjoyed the food though it's more of a homey style restaurant. I had breakfast which was satisfying and finished it off with this rainbow cake which was delish!

The staff is terrific. Such friendly service..they great me by name and my order is always great. They even take care of my special requests no problem...they got it ..my favorite Zippy's...please take care of your weekend night shift. They are really special...they work so hard and makes sure the customers leave happy..

Excellent service. Food was delicious. I have not been there in a long time, but this visit reminded me that Zippy's is a great place to meet with friends.

First time at Zippy's. I'm impressed! Delicious food, huge portion and it's cheap. 💯🤤

We reserved a spot in zippys and they close it off from the public and they were very patient with our party and very grateful doing so. Awesome music and food.

Not real spaghetti. Probably the same sauce as their chili. (Spicy and brown not tomato-based.) Pretty disgusting. Not to mention they charged $11 for this tiny bowl.

If ever you are in Honolulu, you should check out Zippy's restaurants. Each branch is a local favorite. They serve delicious local dishes such as Zip Min, which is a favorite of mine. It comes with noodles, wun tun, breaded shrimp, choi sum, fish cake, dried seaweed, egg, sweet pork and green onions. There are also daily specials, plus you can order a complete meal that comes with dessert.

Lovely little spot to get some good grub

We go to Zippy’s Vineyard dining room on Sundays after church for Brunch with friends. This just a slightly upscale diner but it’s a good dinner that delivers consistent results. Hot coffee, delicious waffles, and yummy portuguese sausage! (They do have a well varied menu with other classics but I’m addicted to this combo). Sunday parking is easy and being off the visitor track is very comfy. Typically very short wait times for Sunday.

This is one of the most efficient and clean branches on the Island considering it's downtown location. There is ample parkiing and their takeout system is handled with efficiency. Kudos!

Worst cheese omelet I've ever had. Too much cheese and it wasn't even melted. Too much butter on the toast, I didn't even ask for butter and normally put minimal amount.

The food is always fresh and good. The service is great. On Superbowl Sunday I called and ordered a dozen and a half malasadas and five orders of the fried noodles. We picked it up in 15 minutes and everything was hot and fresh.

Just wanted to rate an employee. I went to the outside take out counter around 1200pm today. The guy setting up the orders was so efficient. He knew the orders and kept going and going. They're busy. He's a keeper. Give him a raise but don't promote him.

This place just makes sense great value compared to what’s around and no wait times . Great comfort food and you must try the chili.

Ate Spaghetti and Chicken Mixed Plate for $10.25 tax included. The price was great and the food was great too. My tummy got filled and I am all satisfied. This is a real cheap eats.

Great zippys! Nice location I can walk to from downtown/chinatown, and the service was great, and the food came out quickly. It's hard to find better hawaiian plates at a lower price. Napoleon bakery is located inside also. Seems like they close from midnight-6am.

Great Hawaiian comfort food at a reasonable price. I’m never disappointed when I come here. The service is good and the food ales me happy. I love the Korean fried chicken plate. It scones with rice and one side. I usually opt for a side salad. The chicken is perfectly crispy and has just the right amount of sauce. Like other Zippy’s locations the service is friendly and efficient.

Quintessential Hawaiian food and you should try at least once. We had the Lokomoko with chilli and the deluxe meal. The chilli is meant to be famous, but I didn’t enjoy it that much. The Loco moco was not great as the hamburger steak was completely unseasoned and bland. The zip pack deluxe meal was not bad though, which has the Spam, fried fish, fried chicken, teriyaki beef mix plate, and is very filling.

Nothing special, and I've definitely had better loco Moco at other places but it was edible and we were hungry.

Always an excellent service and really great food. I know during covid things are a bit different but when it comes to eating here at Zippy's, there will be no regret.

Can't really go wrong with Zippy's.

Zippy's on Vineyard in Chinatown has a very Courteous group of people that work there. They are Efficient and helpful when serving you. It is clean and Family Friendly. I would recommend Zippy's to anyone who is hungry and happen to be in Chinatown. Great Selection of Menu Items. Go there see for yourselves.

Conflicted... I guess because of their location there is often a stand-offish lady taking your order at this location (one eyebrow raised with a sour expression and all) in the midst of placing your order and spending your money with THEM! Hence the 3 stars-exclusive to vineyard location. Stars based strictly on the food⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐THE BEST CHILI WITH BEANS outside of my home and the tastiest Korean fried chicken plates with mac salad, chowder(any/all) and dont leave without maple bars and a Napple or 2.

Good service and food especially on the dining inside. I liked how the new check-in system works. Very clean and fast system.

What can I say that would differ from other opinions? Zippy's commits to it's consistency regardless of which location you select. Their commitment is to good taste & not leaving their patrons feeling still hungry. Unfortunately, the prices are somewhat costly for a drive-in, coffee shop diner, which is the fault of today's economy. Businesses can only continue if there is profit to allow them to do so.

Zippy’s is a great takeout place with very nice service. I got the Salmon Katsu for about $10.00, a very reasonable price for the portion size you get! I personally thought the Salmon Katsu was a little salty, but still very good! They have a bunch of different menu items as well. I definitely recommend Zippy’s for fast, casual good eats!

This is a great restaurant to share with family and friends. The service is always excellent and the food served piping hot. In the morning our favorite waitress is Penny. She brings the aloha to the table. Friends and family from the mainland remember two things about our Zippy's, Saimin and Penny.

Very good fast service yummy

They seem to struggle with keeping up with demand. We called ahead and waited on the phone for ten minutes. Finally someone answered, spoke some gibberish, and hung up. We called again waited for ten minutes and no one answered. We finally got here and wouldn't you know it... There's at least 20 people waiting for their order and about 5 cars waiting for pick up.
