Amelia Earhart's Marker

Tourist attraction Historical landmark

👍👍 Sadly I don't think a lot of people even know this memorial is here. I was cycling past when I stopped to look at the view and read the plaque. Amelia was the first person to fly solo from Hawaii to the US mainland in 1935 - quite an achievement. There is parking and a great view along the coast... People often mention view, stop, great,

First PERSON to fly solo from California to Hawai’i. Monument isn’t well taken care of but take a moment to stop by to remember Earhart, a pioneer of aviation.

A small-ish faded monument to Amelia Earhart, sits the side of the parking area. a nice spot to take the views over Diamondhead area.

If you are driving by, then it’s a great view and safe place to stop for a few minutes. History buffs may enjoy Oahu’s commemoration of Earhart’s solo flight from North America to Hawaii. Not worth coming out just for this though.

Nice place to stop for a second with great views but all and all not a lot to do or even read about on its own. We combined it with some other landmarks in the region

Nice spot with a view of Diamond Head and the sea. When the waves are rough you can watch the surfers and paragliders.
