Kuhio Beach Park is right by Waikiki Beach and it's completely easy to access and is highly walkable. It's right by shops, eateries, boutiques, bars, and more. It's also super easy to get to from a lot of hotels in the area making it a huge draw. They also have regular activities on the beach such as surf lessons, hula demonstrations, and more. It's a high traffic area so be prepared to always deal with crowds where ever you go.

How is this beach rated so highly? I assume by people who are too lazy to explore 2-5 miles in any direction for better beach. I get it though, it’s hard to rate this otherwise beautiful ocean beach with only 2 stars, but trust me - there’s literally hundreds of other beaches on the island, and they only get better than this one! This one is full of children and tourists. On the bright side, it has a sectioned off shallow area and a great view of Diamond Head. If you don’t have kids, and have a bike/scooter/car/bus pass - then do yourself a favour and find a better beach! If you want something next to a Burger King, or the Marriott hotel then this beach is for you. To be clear, if this was a beach back in Canada it would be a 9/10, but you’re literally in Hawaii. You came this far, so go look for a dope beach!

Nice area to relax within the Waikiki Beach area without being so close to all of the action. The waters are calmer and more family friendly in this area. Great vantage point to watch the sunset without objects in your view like boats, catamarans, surfers but you can still see all of them to your right. We enjoyed a beach picnic here and watched the surfers for a while then saw the sunset. If you’d like to rent a surfboard, head over to the main Waikiki Beach area and ask around for a gentleman named Uncle Tommy. He will give you the best deal on surfboard rentals, help you select a board size, AND he’ll lock up your personal belongings for you so that you don’t have to worry. Great guy who just wants people to have a good experience.

One of my favorite beaches I can chill out and play with my children. It gets crowded after noon, however comfortable with the water , in this area the ocean is shallow till breakwater which makes it easier for small children and weak wave.

Had a nice set up on beach to relax. So beautiful and relaxing. This beach has a wall built up so far out so the waves will not take over in that area and it’s perfect to swim with your families or snorkel. I seen people walking out on the wall if interested.

If you're looking for a fun beach vibe with tons of sun, sand and things to do the this is the place for you! It's not a secluded area, but rather an electric energy in the center of paradise. The cool breezes, shady trees, smells of sun tan lotion and ocean mist will make you want the day to last forever. There's tons of shopping, restaurants, water sports and even a zoo nearby. This is a must do in Waikiki.

This is a very relaxing and scenic beach to swim or relax and do nothing. There are lifeguards watching the waters. The waters may be low or high tide for people who wants to swim here.

Love it, there is a stone wall that holds the waves so all the area looks like a pool, there is almost no seashells in the sand, clear water, so pretty!

A good beach where you can take a great SIT in the ocean 😹 it’s impossible to swim here but you can enjoy sunset and splash yourself with some ocean water :)

It's frankly one of the best beaches cause you can calmly swim up a long way into the ocean, enjoy suntanning, take part in surfing, and the beach is most clean. If you're only looking for one aspect though (ie only surfing, or only tanning in peace) then you might be able to find a better spot.

The first spot my husband and I hung out at the moment we got to Hawaii. I remembered being in absolute blissed being in the water, people watching, eating poke, and watching sunset by this beach. 💗

Stunning beach with soft sand and great views. We had a photo shoot on this beach our first day in Hawaii. I suggest going earlier in the morning as it does get busier the later in the day.

I would say one of the nicer public beaches. Clean and well maintained with public bathrooms and showers. A protected area gives swimmers a sense of security.

Accessible, free, walkable, and in the heart of it all, this is a beautiful beach. However, it is a central place for the many hotels in the area. It's often packed with tourists, but that also means it's easy to rent beach equipment!

Very calm water, you can see coral and fishes by the stonewall. Absolutely the best place to start snorkeling for little kids. If you bring some bread you can feed the schools of tiny fish…

Water is nice, the sand is not very good. Lots of homeless people, they are mostly harmless, but sometimes can be really annoying. One homeless guy was screaming non-stop for about two hours, many are under influence of drugs and look terrible. Motorcycle noise and loud music from passing cars is non-stop and loudest I have ever heard, you have to stop the conversation and wait until the motorcycle gangs go away. This noise will ruin you evening. Police does not enforce the law for illegal mufflers at all although they have one in Oahu. My personal opinion - Waikiki is worth visiting once to check it out, but do not go there for a family vacation.

  • 5/5 Eric S. 3 years ago on Google
The ocean has a wall stopping waves from coming in making the water super calm. Only little ripples get through. This place is great for kids that are learning to swim. Sand is soft enough for babies to crawl on. Water doesn't get all that deep. It's clean and clear. Need to pay for parking on the side streets.

Stunning! A short walk from most hotels in the area and you'll find yourself on a beautiful stretch of beach and the bluest water you'll ever see. Rent a chair and umbrealla and relax in paradise. This beach is perfect for everyone and the lagoon is the perfect place to cool off

Nice place to spend all day long! There is the beautiful beach and a lot of restaurants and stores close! It’s really hard to park, so I advise you to park at Zoo!

  • 5/5 J G. 2 years ago on Google
Amazing beach for small children. They built a rock wall to hold back the waves and the sand goes out right to the rocks. Deepest part is five feet. Great to float, swim and play catch. The beach is not too busy and is the best place to watch the sunset each night.

Great Beach, statue of prince kuhio of Hawaii near the beach. Be careful where you step because they have signs up about jellyfish (box jellyfish) and Sea Urchins and both can hurt you. Very nice and family friendly beach.

This beach is nice the rock barriers in place keeps waves away making it perfect for little kids who are not comfortable around water. Water is clear and good place to enjoy the water steps from your hotel. Only negative is the presence of many homeless who are on meth speaking to themselves making it uncomfortable for my family.

Nice beach to lounge around in without getting pummeled by large waves. All food and beverages are across the street. Quite a few homeless but they don't mess with you. Beautiful scenery including the iconic Diamondhead.

A beach with sand and stuff. There are about 10 abc stores along this beach. Some seating areas are closed. Water fountains were maintained and functional.

What a wonderful experience. Went with a friend, and had an amazing time. Best to bring a chair towel, refreshments and Aloha. It will be hard to leave after getting completely relaxed. Bring your camera in a waterproof case if you can. Waikiki is exciting.

Kuhio Beach is a nice city beach to hang out on for a few hours. Close to the hotels, stores, and restaurants. Bathrooms nearby. Sand is clean. Water is warm and calm for swimming or just hanging out. Water can be a little rocky so be careful on your feet. Water is clean. It can get a little crowded so get there early to get a good spot.

😐 We checked in here for a late lunch and it was a bit of a disappointment. The food was better than it looked like and the beer was alright as well. The place was almost empty and there were a lot of pigeons. I gave only 3 stars for the service because you order online and there's little interaction...
