You can see SO much from here! Highly recommend this spot if you want to take some amazing photos and see all around the island. There were a lot of signs about the parking lot being high theft so be careful of leaving valuables in the car or leaving your car in the parking lot for too long.

Great place for sightseeing. High thief area as stated on the signs. Surveillance does not help. The lookout is some 250ft from the parking lot, but it does not stop car break-ins. Don't leave anything in the car, that can look attractive.

A lovely lookout with a beautiful, winding drive. It's so fun to see all the wild fruit growing along too

Great overlook of Honolulu, Diamondhead, and the ocean. Consider going later in the day when the skyscrapers and Diamondhead are being side lit. Also, this can be a good place to get neat pictures of rainbows 🌈. The parking lot that is right at the overlook is small, but there's a walking path to a much bigger overflow lot. The trip up to the overlook is also a lot of fun, with zigzag roads, vistas, interesting homes, and dense forests. A worthwhile experience.

Absolutely gorgeous! What an amazing place to view the sunset. Get there early if you plan to get a decent spot. It's a very peaceful, relaxing place to spend the sunset. Be sure to wait until after the sun sets because the sky turns amazing colors. Spectacular view. Mother nature puts on a wonderful show.

Great place for a view of Honolulu! You can even see the airplanes taking off and landing at the airport. Parking is limited but there was plenty when I was there.

Amazing overlook at Oahu's south shore. Worth the windy road drive all the way up

Nice place to stop by for a picnic and some sightseeing. The chickens were cute at the picnic area and there was a nice lot by it. There’s a smaller lot by the viewpoint that gets crowded.

Unreal panoramic view of the mountains, Diamond Head, Waikiki Beach, Honolulu, Pearl Harbor! The drive up to it was really fun too, lots of tight curves. Not too far out of the city and definitely worth the drive!

    i. an review this place once a week at least this is probably the most serene place i’ve ever been i come up here to think or to not think . anyways my last tantlus time out i went up the papakolaya side around the 2 nd lookout i was walking my dog when he decided to jump down the cliff which led his baby sister to do so as well so naturally i jumped down the cliff too when u was climbing up i saw a helmet in a tree i joked with little diamond girl how she was gonna wear it when she follows turtle u climbed the tree and hit it down and NO FREAKIN WAY!! It was an 1996 AUTOGRAPHED PROBOWL HELMET! well if you like football than you know 96 was the year if ALL the greats mr Jerry Rice being game MVP that year! so the helmet was a little weathered and some signatures wore away a bit but still standing were dan marino reggie white emmett smith troy airman mr jerry rice just to name a few even frank gifford was announcing and signed it too! tantlus is a goldmine in every sense of the word you never know what u will find up there i just know i find the same thing every time… peace

The drive up here is fantastic. I have not seen this on any recommendations to do on Oahu. Highly recommend. It is an incredible view, even on a rainy day. The road past the lookout is closed, but definitely fun to venture down it.

Extremely clean reserve with an amazing view. At night it is extremely pretty. Over look the entire city. You can't enter the reserve but you can pull off on the side of the road just before it and take pictures. Absolutely breath taking. Just be sure you're careful of incoming cars.

Great drive up the side of the mountain. You'll see lots of bamboo trees, flowers trees and shrubs and the feeling your in a jungle. Amazing how some people have quite the driveways into the property and they have fantastic veiws to look from their homes. Diamond Head, Waikiki, Honolulu, the airport and locations and of course the ocean can be from the look out at Tantalus Lookout in Puu Ualakaa State Park. Put this on your must do list on Oahu.

Great views and if you skip past the observation deck entrance and go down the grass hill, you can spread out and chill. I took a nice nap there. Very peaceful and cool birds taking it up.

Great views of hanalulu. Saw avocado trees and even a few mongoose running around. Grass was very green and well maintained. Had a pavilion for a little shade. Was very peaceful. Parking was easy.

Spectacular views! It says 360 degree but you get about 270 degree views realistically. If you are doing Shaka Guide be advised - the road is completely closed near the top on the other side as of late May.

Quick walk to Pu'u Ohia trail one of many trails in the Manoa Makiki trail system. Easy to get lost in so many trails.

This is a great view of Honolulu and all the buildings there. It made us feel like it was a model of a huge city.
