The beach wasn't terribly crowded, like Waikiki Beach, but the beach is much smaller. There are quite a bit of reefs right off shore that can be reached from the beach. Snorkeling was especially good along the War Memorial sea walls and directly out behind it. Two monk seals were basking in the sun. One was a 20 year old female and her adult offspring.

A wonderful place to walk by the shore and to enjoy a beautiful sunset. The restaurant, Barefoot Beach Cafe's Fish Tacos and Fish-n-Chips were better than most places.

Absolutely the best view to see during the sunset. I was able to take my daughters stroller without and issue. I am not sure if there were any public bathrooms. People were there with their canopy’s and camping chairs.

Amazing view! There is a cafe right there. I enjoyed a pineapple smoothie and watching people around the park.

Located on the southern portion of Oahu, be prepared for crowds, heat and lots of activities. It is wonderful to see the views of the surf, people playing volleyball, or surfing, swimming or simply relaxing in the sand. Wonderful place to relax

So close to Waikiki main beach, but a whole different feel. Great food at Barefoot Beach Cafe.

A good walk to view the beach and surfers. Takes you towards the aquarium. Also a nice place to eat is out the outer part of the walk. Very good food.

Great Park! right on the beach, great trees for hammocks, Lots of people and dogs, you can snorkel right off the jetty and there are tons of tropical fish, good waves for surfing, sidewalk with interesting things happening, it's just an all-around good place.

Great little spot that’s a little less crowded than Waikiki proper. It’s shallow, but there is some good snorkeling to be had along the reef close to shore, with the best spot in my experience being right up near the Queens Walkway Into the Sea. Recommend bringing any snacks and refreshments with you since the cafe/restaurant here is usually packed

Rode a biki from Waikiki on Kalakaua and discovered this park. It has a great little boardwalk by the beach for a nice stroll or bike ride. Beautiful sunsets, great ocean views, and a cute little cafe with live music in the evenings makes such a wonderful way to end the day. It's really nice here, a lot more quiet. Definitely a nice place to get away from the busyness of Waikiki. The snorkeling seems pretty awesome, too -- lots of big fishes near the shore (since there is a lot more coral close to the shore here...so might be good to bring foot coverings or flippers if you snorkel here). I highly recommend this park!

Wonderful park. Great place to hang out with friends, watch the waves, do yoga, etc. If you see litter please help and keep the park clean by picking it up. If you see Kaiwi, the monk seal, please give her respect and space! There are only 1500 or so remaining.

Very clean! A lot of fish to see. You can even see them by standing in the water. Snorkel will allow you see more. The fish variety of course can’t compare to Hanauma Bay, but you need no reservation for San Souci. Early morning is the best time, less crowded, more fish and monk seals there. Facilities are great too! Highly recommend!

Such a beautiful place to go for a walk, picnic, eat, and go for a swim and have a nice calm day at the beach. The water is incredible and you can even rent a surf board or water equipment. Good place to get in the water and not have to worry about the waves. The sunsets here are indescribable. Will definitely look to get a hotel near here next time I come.

Sitting near the beach or under banyan tree a few steps away while people are doing yoga at sunset, or practicing tight rope walking, families waking, and all in in January. What a wonderful park

There are few places on Earth more idyllic than the one or two kilometers of pristine sand beaches, verdant lawns, and gorgeous vistas you encounter on a walk along Kapiolani Park just passed Queen’s Surf Beach. With Diamond Head in the near distance, you’ll be enthralled by the sights and sounds of Waikiki, particularly by the gorgeous assortment of native trees along the way.

Everything is clean in Hawaii and this park is lovely. Bathrooms are plenty.. Lots of shade with beautiful unique looking huge trees.People were playing volleyball, jogging and swimming. We visited lots of beaches to try and get away from the crowd. I enjoyed this beach the most, we snorkeled and saw cute fishes, regardless of all the people in the water. They have brave fish.

Lovely place to people watch and enjoy the day into the sunset with someone special. There are many locals who go here for recreational activity and it's lovely to see how island free they live. What a beautiful place to just BE!
