My family of 4 (13 and 9 years old, in addition to 2 parents) loved our stay here! The staff were all super friendly, the food was fresh and amazing, the pool was clean and inviting, the beds and pillows (ooooomg the pillows!) were comfortable, and the location was great. We spent extra for the ocean view room and it did NOT disappoint! The hotel is RIGHT on the water's edge so the views (and privacy) were great. It's about a 10 minute walk from the main part of Waikiki Beach, but we were perfectly happy swimming right outside the hotel. It wasn't as sandy, but it was far less crowded. The *only* thing I wish could have been different was if we had an actual dresser to put our clothes in, and more hooks for our wet clothing. Hard to stay organized without these features, but we managed 🙂 #firstworldproblems Great price, great location, great staff, and great time had by all! Thank you to everyone who made our stay amazing!

One of the best ocean view hotels in Waikiki. Our family stayed in Ocean Front Club Queen Room for 5 nights in July 2022. Everything during our stay was perfect. The room was spacious, clean and newly renovated. The beds were big and comfortable. The location are convenient to a lot of restaurants and shopping malls. The hotel staff were so kind and always there to provide help to the hotel guests. The hotel also had an easy access to the beach and different kinds of water activities. The hotel public area were newly renovated in a modern and bright style to make you feel happy and relax. At last , I wants to say thanks to Mandy, the housekeeper of 8F, she worked so hard to keep our Room 819 clean and tidy everyday. Also, send my thanks to Frank, the manager of V47 club lounge, he was always there every morning to help us set up the breakfast. All my family members, my husband, my kids love the hotel so much. We will definitely come back in the near future.

Awesome resort. Stayed here 6 days and 5 nights. Pool was awesome. Great view (stayed in ocean tower). The restaurant had great food. They played music in the evening which was very festive. Had security on site. Staff was exceptional. The only “negative” is that there is no beach. It is literally on the beach. You step off the steps and the ocean is right there. You also have the jetty’s and large sharp rocks to walk on (invest in water shoes). Really there’s no place to “relax” right by the water. You have to move down a little ways and even then there’s not much room because of the boardwalk. All in all a great hotel. This was my second time being there and I’ll be back.

First and foremost, the bed was good (firm and soft on top). The hotel was newly renovated and our room was tasteful and comfortable. We were on the top floor with a partial ocean view, which was worth a little extra money. The hotel has a great, central location and is a good deal for a beach front hotel. We really liked the cafe, which had excellent nightly live Hawaiian music, but the free tropical drinks we got with our package were lacking.. All of the staff was superb, warm and attentive. Unfortunately the more upscale second restaurant will not open until Spring of 2023, but it looks good. If you don’t mind a bit of a splurge, it’s a very good value in the moderate range. I saw that a recent article put this hotel in the top dozen hotels in all of Hawaii. As a word of advice, the concierge won’t mention it, but one of our favorite activities was the Outrigger Canoe ride on Waikiki Beach, and only $40 (from Dave’s Surf Shop). Finally, it’s quite close to the best ABC store in Waikiki, which has an excellent wine and beer selection, good carry-out food, and anything you might need.

We booked our Wedding/honeymoon trip in Hawaii and were very excited to stay at the Outrigger Reef. Our first bad experience started when we arrived - construction zone. everything was boarded up and it was very loud. We booked a partial ocean view room and got to look at the hotel next to ours - wonderful. We're especially displeased with the $35 ($40 after tax) resort fee which does not give you anything. The gym was closed, the spa was closed, no activities, except music at the restaurant which is overpriced with no discounts for hotel guests. The pool had to be reserved for one hour slots and only 20 people could be in the water at a time. Our room was skipped for room service, and when we confronted the front desk they asked "have you scheduled your room service". This is absolutely absurd, as I have stayed in resorts and hotels all over the world and have never heard of having to schedule room service. It's very disappointing to come home after a day at the beach and not have clean towels, the trash cans full, and no new soap. We also indicated that this was our honeymoon trip and the website stated that there would be a bottle of champagne for the freshly married couple - none of that of course. I would really appreciate a response from the management. I am usually not one to write poor reviews, but this hotel should not be open until they figure everything out.

I recently stayed at the Outrigger Waikiki Resort and had a truly memorable experience. Upon arrival, we were delighted to be upgraded to an ocean-facing room for an additional $100 per night. The upgrade came with complimentary breakfast and afternoon snacks/drinks, making it well worth the extra cost. The views from our room were simply stunning, featuring a calm, azure ocean that provided a serene backdrop to our stay. The swimming pool was clean and well-maintained, but the jacuzzi situation left a bit to be desired. It seemed to be perpetually occupied by the same group of people, and despite complaints, the hotel management didn't enforce any time limits. Additionally, the jacuzzi was closed for four hours on multiple days for water refilling, which seemed excessively long. On the brighter side, the live music in the resort was fantastic and truly added to the holiday atmosphere. There are also numerous good dining options nearby, although the food within the resort was somewhat eclipsed by these local eateries. We opted for valet parking at $40 per night, and we felt that our car was secure and well-taken care of, alleviating any concerns about parking in a new location. The room itself was wonderful, especially with the breathtaking ocean view, but the culinary offerings are better explored outside the resort. All in all, the Outrigger Waikiki Resort offers an exceptional stay with a few areas for improvement. I would happily recommend it for its stunning views, secure amenities, and excellent live music.

Hotel is clean & spacious. We live on Big Island and travel to Honolulu several times a year for fun- this was our second visit. Both times we have been greeted by Rick at the front desk- he is incredibly friendly and welcoming. This was our first hotel stay with new baby in tow, and my mother joining along. Rick placed us in a corner room, so we only shared a wall with my mothers’ room & this relieved a lot of my stress about possibly disturbing other guests if she got fussy. Room was spacious, comfortable and clean, and a crib was sent up right away. All the housekeeping staff greeted us in the halls and were very sweet.

Stayed 4 nights at the Outrigger Reef. Great location, walkable to everything in Waikiki. Hotel itself was super nice, very clean and updated rooms. The staff was all so friendly, remembered us every day, and gave good recommendations for things to do around the island. The V47 Club access was the best part and is well worth it, starting your day with a full spread breakfast, and finishing off the day with the cocktails/apps overlooking a great sunset. Amazing experience overall.

Superb view, squeaky clean room, great service. 4 star service all in all. The only issue is when we went over the summer it was under construction so kinda put us in a downer sort of mood. Probably why it was slightly cheaper compared to hotels next door. But the service from then on was great. Really happy with the booking. Parking and almost everything is extra as you can expect from such hotels. Wish they had a microwave on every floor and the crib for the baby had a little bit of rust. The view was superb. The pool area was right in front of us and only wish it was open till later at night but with covid understandable.

From start to finish, this hotel was perfect for our family vacation. Donna, at the front desk, was helpful on more than one occasion and made our stay that much more relaxing and worry free. All staff members we spoke to were friendly and attentive. Our room was cleaned daily (we called to ask for it). We stayed in a one bedroom suite, and both the bed and the pull out sofa bed were comfortable. Rooms were cool with air conditioning that ran without any issues. The fridge and microwave were very handy with two kids - so we were able to keep snacks and beverages in our room for a longer period of time. The pool was relaxing, and right next to the bar ~ which made for a relaxing time for the adults and fun time for the kiddos. If you walk through the hotel you end up straight on the beach! Overall, we are so pleased we stayed here, and will definitely book again!

I’m (unfortunately) VERY picky when it comes to hotels and the outrigger reef didn’t disappoint! The rooms are newly renovated and I haven’t seen even a speck of dust in the room or common areas. My only complaint room-wise is the bathroom door is a frosted glass door which doesn’t close completely, so I don’t feel there’s much privacy when it comes to using the bathroom. Also no mini bar, however ABC is a skip away. The pool area is on the smaller side, which I appreciate amongst some of the bigger and busier resorts in Waikiki. Beach area is limited and they are building a new restaurant so there’s currently lots of construction noise on the beach — if you’re looking for more of a beach vibe I’d pass. The views from the beach are incredible though! We upgraded to club access which I’d highly recommend, including breakfast and cocktail hour which comes with apps. Breakfast is ok but the afternoon drinks and a full on afternoon buffet means we’ve eaten out once a day, max! Centrally located and very accessible, yet a block or so away from the main drag so still quiet.

I really enjoyed my stay at Outrigger. I gave the room a 3 star rating because the room was nice, but I had 2 roaches. I loved that it was walking or biking distance from lots of things to do. The food was delicious. Views were breathtaking. Will return.

Our family stayed at the beautiful Outrigger Reef Waikiki Beach Resort which had an ocean view and was beachfront. We were able to check right in upon our arrival. The entire staff here is so amazing and kind. The hotel is super clean and the housekeeping does a wonderful job daily. We had Ocean Club access that included unlimited breakfast daily and evening reception that included unlimited appetizers, Mai Tai's, desserts and other drinks. You also receive 15% off all regular dining throughout your stay. They have daily activities and also live music every evening. This hotel is in the middle of lots of shopping and restaurants that are walking distance.

I WANT TO LIVE THERE!!! Absolutely stunning resort. The people are so lovely, happy and helpful. We were always welcomed by name, with a smile and it made us feel so special. The rooms are beautiful. The location is amazing. We got Club Access which was well worth it. There is no oceanfront accessible rooms which I think should be fixed. A walk in shower means I can shower whenever I feel like it, not whenever I can get assistance to get into the shower. I shouldn't have to chose a city view room, in Hawaii, just because I have mobility issues. The service around the pool is also non-existent. We would constantly need to walk to the bar to order food or drinks - which is ok, but for then the pool attendant to say "you should have asked me!" every time we went to the bar, you would think they got the hint. This was everyday too, not just the one person having an off day. I would definitely go back!!!

Great hotel, exceptionally clean with top notch hospitality! Wonderful view. There is a reef that we were able to watch dozens of sea turtles from the beach as they fed on the beach. Great experience! Live music was also a great plus! Will stay here again!

Amazing 5* service from start of stay till the end. Especially front desk staff Rick who sorted out a tricky booking problem for us. Thanks so much Rick for above and beyond customer service! We were in an Oceanfront Club Room and could not rate all aspects of the Hotel highly enough. From the amazing room with amazing views to the valets and to Voyager 47 staff. It has been an amazing stay.

I have to state, the front reception person, Frank, made our trip fantastic. I have been a fan of this hotel since I first visited it at age 18; I have referred a plethora of friends to your wonderful hotel. Before my September trip, a few months earlier, I had treated my team to a week in Hawaii at the Outrigger Reef as a post-COVID stress release. I had then subsequently visited Hawaii in September with a woman. I had regrettably listened to someone and stayed at another property, but the service level did not compare to yours. I had the great fortune of meeting Frank at the front desk. The level of welcoming, the level of friendliness, the hospitality, I can truly state was amongst the top 3 I had ever experienced in a hotel. He is an outstanding employee for you, but more importantly, the level of integrity he brings towards making a guest feel welcome cannot be exceeded; there is no hotel that could have made me feel more welcome. He was always ready to help, answered all of our questions, and exceeded our expectations in every possible way; one of the best front desk persons I had ever encountered in my life. I want to thank you for being such a great property, but for having the talent to hire someone such as Frank. Thank you again, Frank, for making our trip such a wonderful experience, we could not ask for more and we hope when you go on vacation you have the benefit of bumping into someone who treats you and your loved ones as well as you treated us. Stefano

Really nice stay! Included cultural activities are the best! The names are a bit tricky so ask questions or just show up and enjoy the surprise. Hula implement is more a music lesson, morning yoga was a magical sunrise hula lesson on the beach. Very well done program! The hotel shops are still coming back from Covid but there is so much shopping and dining nearby you don’t notice the empty shops. The “city view” side gets a lot of evening noise and the pool was on the cold side, my only complaints. Quiet at night and swimming in the ocean, all good.

Lovely place to stay. Highly recommend the Voyager 47 club. Love the service in the club and enjoyed breakfast with a view of the ocean. Room had a beautiful view of the ocean and the main restaurant served great food with a nice atmosphere and live music. Had an awesome vacation!

We are SO happy we booked this place for our first trip to Oahu. Great location. Our room got upgraded to a 1 bedroom suite. It was AMAZING. Make sure you do the “club”… great drinks and apps/breakfast. So worth it. We never wanted to leave! Beach is “smaller” but if you walk 200 yards to your right there’s plenty of beach. Thank you Outrigger!

This hotel is absolutely stunning. Cleanliness, amenities, location are all perfect. My husband and I stayed her for part of our honeymoon and it was by far the best experience. First off, we would just like to give a HUGE shoutout to Donna at the front desk. She was extremely efficient and helpful checking us in and even called up to our room to see if we were happy. Yes Donna, we are extremely happy!! You are so awesome!! All other staff has also been overly welcoming and has made us feel so special. I hope your bosses are able to see this because we cannot thank you enough. We will more than definitely be staying her for future Hawaiian vacations.

Great room! We had a phenomenal view of Diamondhead, and we watched sea turtles from our balcony the first morning. The bed was very comfy. I wanted to steal the pillow, but settled on photos of the labels. The Club Lounge was fun, but the food was hit or miss. However, the pork sandwiches were amazing!!! Friendly staff made this a great hideaway when you just wanted a snack and something cool to drink. I would return to this hotel.

First time in Oahu for our honeymoon. The hotel is beautiful! We were welcomed with a tin of hawaiian co cookies, breakfast vouchers (every day) at the Monkey Pod Kitchen, water bottles. Water stations everywhere. Room service was great. Overall service was great; they really treat you well.

We just returned from our 8 night vacation, and the Outrigger Reef Waikiki Beach Resort certainly didn't disappoint. We stayed in one of the 3 double bed rooms, the beds were comfortable and the rooms were very quiet and comfortable. The only downside to these rooms is they don't have a balcony which is kind of a bummer. It's certainly hard to beat the location, overall an excellent stay, would certainly recommend.

Stayed for a week with wife and two kids, had an absolutely fantastic time! The location is perfect, very walkable to a lot of great places to eat, beaches or shopping. Amenities at the hotel were great, the provided water bottles and beach bags were very handy! The main floor has two ultra filtered water services (one by the front desk, the other by the pool) we made sure to fill up our bottles with that water each day, tasted great! The room service was top notch as well, always provided extras (towels, shampoo, etc.) without prompting. Would definitely stay again and highly recommend this hotel!

What an amazing time we had here all the family. The location is awesome the restaurants and pool are awesome. And the service, oh my god! After we had already checked out we went on a really muddy hike. We looked so bad the Uber driver didn’t let us ride. When we finally came back to pick up our luggage they saw us and offered a room for an hour to shower before we take off! How amazing generous and fun! And special thanks to Lisa Coll from guest services

Rooms were average. Bathrooms tiny. Location was perfect. Food was mediocre at best. We upgraded our room from the same view same beds for $125 a day because it included wifi and breakfast. Breakfast was an overstatement more like glorified continental. By the end of the stay they had run out of fresh pineapple (on Oahu yes) and we’re serving canned pineapple. The same mediocre breakfast was served downstairs at dukes buffet. Definitely same chef/ same menu. It was kind of strange I expected resort style food and instead received holiday inn express.

My husband and I recently stayed here for our honeymoon and enjoyed this resort a lot. The ocean front room we had was perfect and spacious. The location was also great because we were close to a lot of shops and restaurants. I was disappointed, though, only because they did absolutely nothing for our honeymoon. Not that we are looking for a handout, but it would be nice for our honeymoon stay to be acknowledged. Otherwise, everything was great.

We really liked our stay at Outrigger Reef. The rooms were cleaned daily. The staff was really friendly. The pool and hot tubs were nice to relax in. Right off the beach. Located close to a lot of shipping and restaurants that you can walk to easily. Highly recommend it

Staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. The hotel was extremely clean and updated. Loved the open atmosphere, live music and hospitality. We took advantage of the complimentary vow renewal service and it was beyond our expectations. John and Deemer were our main Valet attendants and they were very personable. We loved everything about our experience at the Outrigger Reef.

So I just got back a few weeks ago and it was my first time in Hawaii. This place was great. Yes, they are still going through renovations but it wasn’t bad at all. We stayed in an Oceanfront room and it was just that, Oceanfront. Like others have said there isn’t a lot of beach there especially during high tide but it doesn’t take but a few extra steps to move further west to get more beach area. What I loved about this place was the local feel. Especially the local musicians playing every night down by the restaurant/pool area. Also, the employees made it special for me. Everyone was friendly. I made the mistake of taking elevator down to basement and caught some employees off guard. They were laughing and apologizing, but we had a quick laugh. The valets and servers took time to recommend restaurants and places to visit and also some short cuts to avoid the heavy traffic. What struck me most though was the amount of military personnel staying there. I dont know what the relationship was or is with this resort and the military but it made me very happy that they were there. For my style and pace this was a great way to be exposed to the Hawaiian people and culture. I would definitely recommend this place to others.

We came to Hawaii for our honeymoon in November! We stayed here for half of the time and it was a great experience. We had an Oceanview room and though it wasn't a perfect ocean view, we were aware of what we would be entitled to with just an ocean view so we were happy. The room itself was GORGEOUS. So comfortable and clean. Staff and housekeeping was amazing! No issues there. The pool was also super convenient. I at first was nervous that it wouldn't be as nice of a pool because it was between two buildings. But...the location of the pool was ideal because it kept you protected from the sun and my very sunburn prone husband loved having that! What was very disappointing was the beach! We had spent the first half of our trip at another resort where the beaches nearby were lovely. The Waikiki beach was so rocky and just not an enjoyable experience. We may have gone to Waikiki to get in the water a couple of times, but otherwise we went to other beaches to enjoy. Overall we enjoyed ourselves here and would go again!

  • 4/5 Sam M. 2 years ago on Google
Edit: They were receptive to our concerns and made every reasonable effort to make our stay more comfortable. I would come back. It is beautiful by the beach ⛱. In the end we were satisfied with a happy stay honeymoon 😀 Original Review: On the weekend it was okay. During the week, the construction zone left us feeling like we need a hard hat to get to our room. Would be a nice place. Wish we would have known before we booked/arrived for our honeymoon. We are trying to enjoy ourselves anyway, but I would have paid more to not stay at a construction site! Wish they had complimentary hard hats 👒... or at least warned us ahead of time.

Husband and I came for a delayed honeymoon that turned into a baby moon as well. Everyone has been so kind (front desk workers and house keeping) and the room is cleaner than most. We got a great view of the ocean as well as the pool area. Would definitely recommend.

They made our vacation the best experience! First and foremost, they let us checked in when we arrived at 10am without extra charge. They have something for my daughter celebrating her birthday. The food at the restaurant was great and the pool which we like to hangout are next to each other. The beach was less than a minute walk was awesome!

Spent 4 days celebrating the start of our honeymoon. The room was exactly as expected; clean and a partial ocean view. Pool/hot tub area was very clean. The lobby was very charming. Nightly entertainment added a very genuine Hawaiian feel to the experience. We were offered a vow renewal ceremony with a traditional Hawaiian hula performance along with an officiant and ukulele musician on the beach. It was intimate and very personal. However I have reached out to both the hotel and photographer about photos and have received no response. The food was very good and for its location in Waikiki fairly priced. The back entrance to the hotel has beach access and a nice boardwalk with incredible view of sunrise and sunset.

Me and my partner loved our stay at this hotel ! The staff is nothing short of amazing; and quite honestly, all the people on this island. S/o to our host, Rick, who checked us in/out - he was the best . The food is really good. The hotel has direct access to the beach; however, pack some swimming shoes- there is rocks under the water :)

This Hotel is clean, Staff is kind and service was excellent. Hotel has some minor renivations happening and they did a nice job of cording the areas off like Disney does so you cant even notice. We originally had 2 of the 3 bed rooms booked for our 9 day stay, We are a Family of 5, 2 adults 3 kids so this room would have been sufficient for a few days with kids but not for 9 days. The resort let us upgrade to 2 rooms and one was a suite. It the option to use a hallway door as a entry to the 2 rooms so we felt safe. The 1 suite had a sink and living room areas that make it more convenient. The second room had 2 full size beds. This was exactly what we needed for the kids. Pool and hot tub are nice and clean , the restaurant a d bard serve great food I would recommend this hotel to everyone.

Amazing experience! yes there was still construction going on, but the staff and the amenities well made up for it. We were there with a big group and from breakfast to happy hour to eating at the restaurant the staff recognized us and welcomed us everywhere. The food was always amazing. Upgrade to the Voyager 47 rooms, it is worth it! Some of the amazing staff were: Stanley, Rick, Frank, Ray, Karissa and so many more. Always had a smile and an offer of if we needed anything more. We even were able to renew our wedding vows in a Hawaiian style ceremony on their beach. Would stay here again, and would recommend to family (that I like) to stay there too!

If you want to be a stones throw away from Waikiki and not break the bank o highly recommend this hotel. The rooms are spacious and updated and the bathroom is huge. I have stayed at other hotels in the area and they were more expensive and not quite updated.

Our room was really nice and a good size. I really liked the flooring when you first get in and the bathroom was right there. The shower rattled a bit when it got warm, but it was fine. All the employees were really nice and helpful. The view of the city was really cool. I liked that it was right on the beach and close to restaurants and shopping!

I and many of my family members stay at this Outrigger because it is off the beaten path and is so comfortable. I booked it based on my memories and didn't realize the true extent of the construction that was taking place. The nice restaurant, gone. The peaceful days at the pool during the week, gone. The lobby area with stores, gone. Having the fitness center available when you needed it, gone, and making a reservation hours ahead for the center across the street and having to wait for the registration desk to get the card. This was our first trip in two years and the best parts were the first class flights to and from the island. I have fond memories of this location and we stuck it out while we were here, but I wished I would have paid more to get a better hotel on this trip. I'm not sure I'll be back here again...

The staff were excellent! The rooms are clean and comfortable! Beds are comfy and service is just top notch. We spent part of one day at the cabana and it was perfect. The food at the restaurant by the pool is ono as well. Good walking distance to lots of great stuff in Waikiki. Would definitely recommend to anyone that asks.
