It was a good place to stay. Close walk to the beach and shopping and food. The staff and level of customer service there was amazing. They use text messaging to check in on you and see if you need anything throughout your day. I was quite impressed with the level of service as I travel quite often and have never received service like they give. The only reason this isn’t a perfect review is because the hotel room itself is a little outdated. Interesting enough, the room had a PlayStation 3 in it for kids to use. My kids were excited to see that but never ended up actually playing, I mean we are in Hawaii after all and had plenty of things to keep them busy. Was it the best hotel in the area, probably not. Was the service top notch, absolutely. Would I stay here again, most likely as long as the pricing stays very competitive.

Besides being close to the beach, this hotel is not worth it at all. The room is outdated. Old carpets. Old power sockets. Paper wall is falling off. The windows don’t work. The bathroom was dirty to begin with. Sink doesn’t work properly. Room service never once even tried knocking to service our room in our entire week stay. We had to clean everything ourselves and continually ask for new sheets or towels. They never changed our trash bags or gave us new ones. We had to do everything ourselves to clean and still needed to call them to give us more towels and sheets. They missed their midday cleaning day. We gave them another day until their 4pm cleaning session and they didn’t bother to check our room. Spend the extra $300 “mandatory” “cleaning” fees they charge and go to a better hotel.

There were cockroaches in my first room. They gave me a hard time about it then finally decided to give me a different room. The new room was way better. It’s called a “superior” room. They charge $35 for a parking pass but I didn’t get a car cause I have friends out here. My friends didn’t know the parking rules so they parked where there were spots. Turns out they ended up having to pay. When we tried to explain that there were no signs. The front desk worker got aggressive with us and was very disrespectful. Ended up charging one of my friends $80 and the other $40. The front counter guy caught an attitude with me when I was just asking for clarification.. very very disappointed. I wish I had the money to get a different hotel but unfortunately I don’t. Do not waste your money here. Also they charge you a fee when you check in, a deposit, taxes accommodations etc. which charged me about $350. This place feels like a motel not a hotel. The pool is extremely small. And the “accommodations” cost money even though that’s what I was charged for. Terrible customer service. And my room hasn’t been cleaned the whole week I’ve been here. Also keep in mind we weren’t disrespectful at all too the worker. And he got very made because we were just asking for answers. And he locked the parking lot that they were parked in. There were other cars parked there as well by the way. Just don’t waste your time here. Spend the extra money on a different hotel… I wish I did. Just terrible. The only good thing was the view from my 8th floor room.

This is one of the many hotels I stayed in while I vacationed in Waikiki. I wanted to be as immersed as possible during my time there, and in this case, I am happy I did. The Aqua Aloha Surf Waikiki Hotel was by far the most cost economic; also, in full walking distance of dozens of amazing nightlife spots. The rooms had everything we needed, an I was shocked to find an array of complimentary beach supplies in our closet which saved us almost $500.

We stayed a week here. The staff is friendly and accommodating. If we were ever to return we would stay here. One word of caution is the basement parking is tight. The low hanging pipes challenged a tall vehicle. We were in a Ford Explorer. We could only park on one side of the garage. The other side would catch the antenna of the Explorer.. If you rent a car make sure it is small if you don't want to deal with that issue.

Biggest complaint is that this hotel is overpriced. There are better options in town that will get you way better value for your money. My room was mostly clean except the curtains had various stains. Bathroom needs updating, the mirror should probably be replaced and the sink is pedestal-style so there is no counter to put toiletries. The staff was generally friendly and helpful. I had a problem with the stopper in my bathroom sink and it was fixed within the same day I reported it. I don't mind this quality of hotel but it does seem pretty unfair to be charged such a high price for it. It is mostly clean and maintained but lots of things could probably use updating or replacement. There are other hotels that are much nicer and newer that will get you better value for your money.

Location is good, rooms are in very poor condition. CAREFUL: they charge additional fees (250$ in our case for what they call check-out fee, reservation fee and damage waiver), although our stay was fully prepaid via our agency. When charged during check-out, staff was extremely rude. Didn’t expect much for low budget Waikiki stay but it’s a tourist trap! We regret it and are very disappointed of the service.

If I could rate lower then I would. I wasn’t expecting a five star resort, but I was expecting a hell of a lot better. We were told at check in about $250 charge for daily housekeeping. They do not have daily housekeeping. Our room wasn’t tidied the entire time. We are actually put in the wrong room. This holiday was actually our honeymoon and we had booked a room with a double bed and when we got to the room it was 2 single beds, when we went downstairs to enquire the employee almost didn’t believe us that we had paid for a double room and asked do we need to sleep in the same bed which we replied it is our honeymoon and we have paid for a double so preferably yes, after re showing and proving our booking she gave us a different room. We went to the next room and I can only explain it as filthy. The bed was not made, there was paint chippings that had fallen from the ceiling and mould residue on the bathroom ceiling (considering we had just paid a large charge at the desk for daily housekeeping this room looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in a while. Again, I travel down to reception to explain what we had just walked into. The receptionist when I’ve got one of her colleagues and neither of them believe me I offered for them to go back up to the room with me, but I had also taken photos to prove this just in case they both requested to see the photos and explained that they had accidentally put us in the room that is having work and some construction being done and we shouldn’t have been put in this room. Staff were rude, bugs in the room. Honestly this place was hell! We requested an additional toilet roll as our room wasn’t being cleaned and replenished, and were told if we needed additional toiletries where the most local shop is! Can you believe we went to a hotel and and had to buy our own toilet roll? I tried to raise a complaint and got the most basic response and they didn’t even acknowledge any of my other 20 negative points

TERRIBLE PLACE AND DISHONEST . I was told to my face the only extra charge was parking which was expensive but whatever, I knew the charge and was assured that there was no other charges. When I left at noon 3 days later my credit card was stand up for another 413.00 dollars!!!! Yes that’s right over four hundred dollars after I already paid for the room.!!! The bill showed crazy stupid cleaning fees for each day and we did not use housekeeping once. And the rooms were terrible, the night stand was up against the closet and you could t even access it, the floor was wet and the AC only worked an hour or two. NEVER NEVER NEVER again. And while I complained the 2 women at the front desk just grinned back at my complaints and said to call an 800 number. I’ve never come across such a poorly operated hotel. We also ran into other tenants on the elevator as some floors are condominiums, and both that we ran into said they are moving our when their leases is up because the place is not maintained and poorly operates and they keep adding BS charges. Look around find another place and save yourself the pain. There are plenty other places. It’s funny that they can even respond to this complaint. Because there wouldn’t be INE if they were honest. It’s clearly a stock answer that they often give, all the while taking your money. Sad.

We did our research on this hotel, which is truly a cheap motel, and so we came with low expectations. We wanted a budget vacation and we understood that meant we would sacrifice some luxuries. That being said, this motel should not be operating. Their parking lot boasts 8 spots in a hotel with over one hundred rooms, and the spots fit compact and midsize cars only. The rooms are noisy because they have not invested in soundproof windows (or even windows that close completely) so all night long you will be subjected to the sounds of homeless people screaming and loud partygoers. Twice this week the water is shut off for maintenance. They will provide you with towels for the beach, however they charge $30 if you lose or don't return one, and the towels are so old I wouldn't have picked them up even at a secondhand store for $1. The pillows on these beds are like bricks, and haven't been changed in years. I've barely been able to sleep since we arrived. If you're reading this review and did what I did when I read the reviews and thought "These people are probably just being picky", this is your sign that even your lowest expectations won't be met. Spend the extra money and invest it somewhere else. The staff was nice and I feel bad for their hotel manager who clearly does his best and just works for a very cheap owner.

It's a great Hotel if you don't look for luxury. 3 min walk to the Beach and the strip. If you looking for quiet or relax Hotel , it's not the right Hotel for you. They also have 5 categories in Rooms , moderate ( small , no Balcony) Superior, Deluxe. Junior suite, one Bedroom Suite. Please check before you book. Staff is most of the time friendly and helpful. I had no Problems at all, I hear others say they unfriendly. Can't agree! It always depends how you speak to People , that's what you will get back. Aloha

This place is perfect for the budget friendly traveler. No big frills. Not the most beautiful and not right on the beach but it is close and easy walking to everything. Parking is expensive and in a very small tight place. Beds are comfortable. Rooms were clean. There was not very much water pressure in the shower but other than that no real complaints. It was a very quiet place to stay.

Honestly before booking i didn’t have high hopes because of all the previous reviews, however i will say the pros definitely out rules the cons. The room was definitely outdated and the cleanliness of the room could have been improved. I just took a Clorox wipe i had brought and cleaned real quick, nothing major. Also if your not a heavy sleeper i would not recommend this hotel. Lots of construction and police sirens. Another con that didn’t bother me too much is the pool was small. But it’s an affordable hotel. with EXTREMELY friendly workers, from my experience. A couple other things the room included that i wasn’t expecting is at check in they give you a card and provide you with clean beach towels! They also had like a redbox but for customers that we’re staying in the hotel, newer, older, and classic movies, even games! The rooms also provided a ps3 for the movie/game box! Another thing that i really enjoyed is everything was in walking distance the beach was about a 10 minute walk the closest ABC store was basically right across the street! We only ubered once, and it was to go across the canal! Overall I had a great experience and definitely would be back!

We have never booked a hotel with more misleading information than Aqua Aloha. We were so excited but they literally ruined our vacation. They claim to be a 3 star hotel, yet we were given the smallest possible very dated toilet and shower like a 1 star rundown boarding. Room was no different. It was very small. The AC was barely 2 feet from headrest blowing all cold air directly to us, which made us sick very first night. And parking despite paying $35/day additional is just nightmare. Only location is decent. If it is difficult to verify anything online, try to get exact pics of the room before making reservations & ruining your vacations.

Rooms could use renovations by professionals, not by hotel maintenance. The bathrooms do show a lot of quick fix patching up. The wallpaper in the rooms is bubbling up due to water damage. And the air-conditioners are overworked and need to be replaced. I had the air-conditioner running for 24 hours set at 60 degrees. But the room felt like it was 78 degrees. It also had excessive moisture around it. But besides that, the front desk and housekeeping staff are friendly and accommodating.

We tried to book a room but after confirming our dates and paying we were given the wrong dates. We contacted the hotel to correct this but we were told they would not change anything or issue a refund. They would not even allow me to add time to my stay! To the hotel: I'm not trying to screw you over, I'm trying to get a room for when I'll actually be there! I've had enough of dealing with you even long after my vacation where I stayed somewhere else that would actually let me book time for when I was there. Can't really say anything about the rooms, they only ever tried to book time for when I wasn't even in Hawaii :(

As hard as they tried to advise us of parking rates and availability, having no available parking at both suggested locations was terrible. We had to park at the International Marketplace at a higher premium. This is my 2nd time staying at a hotel in Waikiki and parking is a big issue. We rented a car to have easier and quicker access to things and family. The other suggested alternatives they gave us made no sense. The staff was Super amazing and provided us with alternative options for parking and thankfully that worked.

Great for the price. The rooms were not perfect and were old and not quiet id there was noise in the neighborhood. Missing some amenities but they were still spacious and pleasant. Cleaning happened once during the week we stayed there. The best points were the great location very close to the beach and basically everything (restaurants, malls, etc) and the reception employees who did their best to accommodate all our requests.

This is my first time to stay in this hotel and a second time for my husband(He recommended this place), room is decent for its price, Reception desk people was nice and helpful and accomodating. This hotel is close to the beach as well as for shopping and restaurants. Me and my family stayed for 7 days last week and I asked for room cleaning/service on the 3rd day then on the 4th day as our garbage filling up and floor carpet needed vaccuming but cleaning lady declined on both occasion and said she will clean it on the 5th day, kind of disappointed as we are promised that they will clean it on the middle of our stay.

Aloha!! We had the privilege of staying at the Aqua Aloha Surf Waikiki. It is a beautiful hotel, its location is perfect. We do not speak English and they were always willing to understand us. Special thanks to Nickie who we checked in with. She was kind and patient. We loved our room, the lobby and the services they offer. We hope to return soon. Mahalo 🩷🌺

This was the worst hotel I've ever stayed in. The only positive is that it's very cheap for the area. The walls and windows were paper thin, so I could hear everything in the next room and from the street, despite being 15 floors up. I had to blast white noise on my phone to sleep. The sheets and pillows were very scratchy and uncomfortable. The room was dirty and in disrepair. The shower barely worked, with low water pressure and the water temperature constantly shifting between burning hot and freezing cold about every 30 seconds. The television and AC were old and barely worked. If you can afford it, spend a little more and stay anywhere else. Even if you just plan to sleep in the room it's not worth the cheaper price.

This was a great hotel and the staff was very friendly. The location was perfect. A few little things were annoying but it was due to COVID not the hotel. We had a wonderful time. The staff always went above and beyond. They were very helpful on every way. We would definitely stay here again!

I made the reservation at this hotel with Expedia. I picked a deluxe room with two beds with one double size and one single size and also the room has a sofa bed. make sure the type of room that you have is the one that will suit your need. The building is rather dated, however, it is clean. Even though there are two elevators both of them are very slow. The lobby has a water station so you may bring your bottle or marks to get some water and not needing to buy bottled water. The hotel is fine for the value that is cost. Cleaning is only available every Three days stay. Fees are in the majority of the hotels in Hawaii, be sure you read the fine print before you make a booking don't blame other people for your own overlook. Don't be surprised by the fees charged by Hotel it is approximately $230 in total and also about $100 on the damage deposit which will be very quickly refunded after checking out if everything is fine in your room. Coffee and tea packages are available to be obtained at the counter. Beach towels are also available at the counter to be sure to not lose your towel cut otherwise it would be subject to $30 per card lost as in you lost the towels. The area is relatively noisy even if you stay on the high floors of the building. But I think it would be the same regardless of where you stay since you are in the center of town. Knowing the fact that parking is a nightmare in this area, my travel companion and I decided to go with Uber and bus the whole trip and this area is relatively quick to have a uber response. I may consider staying here again

Stayed for 2 weeks. Canal side of Waikiki but only 5 minute walk to beach with International Market Place just around corner. Room was at back of hotel so no view but was quiet. Had deluxe room which is older but more room than standard. Staff mostly friendly.

Not the best but definitely not the worst. Our stay there has been good. Close to all, the stores, restaurants, mall, and to Waikiki beach. It’s worth it for a vacation. The only thing the restaurant is closed so no breakfast, no chair inside the room for visitors and parking is limited so make sure to reserve it by the reception if you have a car. But it’s clean and room service is well with polite staff.

My friend lives here. He complains about everything but I think its a pretty cool place because of leniency. I mean they seem to allow partying in the rooms because I hear plenty of drunks all talking at once and they let kids run around the pool area screaming and never scold parents for allowing it. The rooms are very small but have a/c and sound proof to outside noise.

Amazing service the room was amazing lots of room and super clean the downstair restaurant was amazing such good food the price is excellent the hotel went over my expectations the hotel should cost more that’s how good it was it was the best location to be at to it was close to shopping and beaches and amazing restaurants I also forgot to mention the staff was the best staff of all time they were so nice and friendly and so caring.

Very great location, beautiful views, beds are decently comfy, bathroom fixtures are outdated and dingy ( we just went to Walmart and picked up some clothes bathroom cleaner and self cleaned) other than that the location is perfect and we would stay again.

Decent stay for the price! It's not a 5 star hotel but it's nice that you can get beach towels and an umbrella from the front desk. Overall worth it considering it was a 6 minute walk from the beach, nice chill vibe as well

Other folks' hair everywhere upon entering the room (including in the bed, support and bathroom floor), soap scum built up in the tiny shower (no tub), and water droplets showing they didn't wash bathroom sink, shower or surfaces. Pedestal sink so no counter space. Shower temperature fluctuates frequently and is jarring. The mattress felt so old and lumpy we joked that a heavy body died in it and wasn't found for months. The divot was ridiculous and like morning I have every experienced before. They insist you use the elevator and that the stairs are for fire use only. The elevator was rather slow at times. I liked the mirrors on the walls that made the rooms feel bigger- the room was very tiny. The surfaces had not been wiped down and still had grunge on them such that the alcohol wipes they leave in your room (for the $150 cleaning fee?) came away black when I wiped night stand down. After your initial payment, even though your receipt says 'paid in full' you will be charged a few hundred more for about 4-5 additional charges.. they need a new maintenance as there were a lot of faulty repairs that made it feel dingy. They also need to actually clean the rooms. Also, they left up the sign saying you can get breakfast but it's actually closed because of covid.. it's been over a year and they still haven't updated the sign. Their communications are deceptive which makes it all intolerable. Just know that this is what you're getting into.

Please do not stay here!!! The hotel is over priced. Poor customer service. They didn’t change my bed sheet and cleaned the room in my 5 days stay. Also, The parking is the ripper. $35 dollars a night. Pretty sure if you add $35 dollars on top of your hotel price, you will find a good hotel in Waikiki. The front desk man was very rude to me for asking simple questions. Hawaii was great for me except the choice of the hotel. Again, you can find a better hotel for the same price you pay.

  • 3/5 Wanda M. 2 years ago on Google
Nice enough. In its day I would say stunning. No room service restaurant is closed. I'd say covid has hit it pretty hard. Yet, overall it's do-able
