Not as advertised - insane hidden fees - gross carpet - fake upgrades I was fooled by the reviews, pictures, description, and overall rating of this "resort". I'll list the cons and then the pros since I believe in transparent, neutral, non biased reviews. CONS: - old, gross looking, dirty carpet in hallways to rooms on each floor - huge hidden fees (housekeeping $40 per cleaning, $40 lounge chair rental fee for pool area, $400 cabana rentals by the pool, $35 breakfast not included with room as advertised) - fake upgrade. I booked a partial ocean view, high floor room, and they explained they upgraded me for free to an ocean view. They lied and gave me the same room I booked as they could not prove which room they had me booked in prior to the upgrade. - The mini fridge was faulty and the door would not stay closed, causing us to lose lots of perishable items. - The pool area is "reserved" after 7pm and impossible to find a free place to sit. - Bed was older, spring mattresses, not pillow top or comfortable for a 5 star resort. - NOT a 5 star resort as most travel sites claim it to be. PROS: - Nice and friendly staff. - Decent views as most of the surrounding hotels have views of other hotels. - Centrally located in Waikiki, easy to get anywhere from there. Do your research, compare rates, look for hidden fees, upgrade items, know what it's actually included in your hotel or resort.

The location was the best part of our vacation. This not a 5 star resort by no means I have been to a 5 Star Resort. First impression was it was absolutely BEAUTIFUL but once I got into my room it went down fast. The room was very clean but out dated. The mattress was OLD and I mean it should not be in a room OLD we could feel every spring and it sunk in the middle we both now have back problems, but it was a 5 Star Resort. The tub only would drain if we held the stopper by hand so the water would run out. The pool area is too SMALL for all of the people they have staying with them. The Breakfast Buffet was HORRIBLE $37 a person for eggs sausage pancakes fruit coffee juice oatmeal and bakery. And made you pay gratuity for serving yourself make that one make sense. Staff was very nice they were just doing their job which I truly understand. Would I stay again NO. Let’s get into the FEES. They say they give you $100 credit but they don’t tell you that you will need to pay it when you check out so they don’t give you a credit at all. Don’t try and talk to them because they aren’t budging at all even if they are wrong. This my second time to Hawaii so this is my first negative review. Read the reviews before booking I do see how the owners respond to positive reviews I guarantee they don’t respond to any negative ones. Catrina Nichols 9/3/22 Room 3762

It’s our second day here, and we already encountered numerous issues. WATCH OUT!! 1. The pictures advertised on their website are NO WHERE CLOSE to the actual view of the in room. At this point, I’d say it’s a scam. We had the diamond head view room. Look yourself. Set your expectations. 2. The check in line was long and slow. Try calling in after check in to avoid the line? Good luck. It took us four phone calls to talk to someone. 3. The room sound proof doesn’t exists!!!! This is the biggest deal breaker for us. We had a baby staying next door. Barely slept in our first night. They replaced us with a Mountain View room although we expressed that we prefer ocean view. Our vacation is ruined because of lack of sleep. 4. There lobby seems okay. Haven’t have chance to check out other places. But the furniture in the room is wrecked. Overall, set your expectations right. Hope you all have fun in Hawaii.

The location was really good, although Waikiki is an extremely touristy place the rooftop bar feels like you have left the touristy streets. The rooms were Nice (located in the beach side rooms) A fair few cons tho, although this should be a 4-5 star resort at times it didn’t feel like it. We asked for a partial beach view, and was mainly buildings with a glimpse of beach. A man behind the bar (Chris I think?) was quite rude, we expect to have pool side/table service at all times, however, the man stated we had to come collect/order our food and drinks at the bar which meant kept having to get in and out of the pool (lots of staff still on duty). Although when the females were on duty, table service was allowed and we felt extremely welcomed! The music was extremely loud, could hear it on level 17 at 10pm. I think the staff should also manage who leaves the pool, as seen, some would put towels on spare chairs and then leave for hours. Or one lady put 4 towels on different chairs to “save them” then no one would show up for 3+ hours. Also would recommend putting guests over walk ins on the pool lounges. Our room was only ever cleaned 1/6 days. The only other time was a house keeper coming at 5:30pm and we declined as it was night time and expect it to be done during the day. Although, this all sounds so negative and I am not one to write a negative review but when you are paying a lot of money, you expect these certain things to be met or to not have as many negative things to say. Overall, I’d say this is a 3 star hotel with the possibility of being a 4-5 star resort if fixing those issues.

The hotel was BEAUTIFUL!!!! Our side of the hotel as far as the rooms, was a little dated but still nice. I didn't use their room cleaning service so I can't comment on that. I borrowed the mop, vacuum and cleaning supplies and cleaned my own room. (I always do) the hotel has a must see aquarium. Right across the street from the Waikiki Beach! Everything was lovely. One thing we weren't told was that on Fridays and Saturdays you need reservations for the pool area. It gets packed!

The location is really good however the hotel and services are more 3 stars than 4/5. Unfortunately the overall value is not there comparing to the price charged. The rooms are renovated but lightly equipped/refreshed (old carpet is still present). We asked for a partial beach view, and was mainly buildings with a glimpse of beach. We were asked to participate as a go green option which make sense now a day in our world with a cleaning every other days. Sadly this option was offered as a NO CLEANING service for the length of our stay. Just think about no cleaning your place for 2 weeks (no clean for you neither for the hotel).

Great location, comfortable and clean room, nice pool and jacuzzi, good service, food at bar/restaurant could use improvement. I was in room 1962. king bed with ocean and diamond head view. Bed was clean and comfortable, slept well each night. Air conditioning was easy to control and worked quickly and I believe automatically turned off if the patio doors were open. Did not hear my neighbors at all unless I was out on the patio. Yes the carpet looks dirty but it was a design choice not because it hasn't been cleaned. The mini fridge was the probably the only major failure in the room, it takes a long time to cool things and probably had food poisoning from some leftovers I put inside. The location is perfect. All food options were within a 10 minute walk at most and the beach is just across the street. All in all, a good, affordable modern hotel.

We stayed with our 10 month old and everything was absolutely great. The rooms were clean and spacious. We had a crib and he had fun crawling around the room. The pool had a shallow area where he was able to sit by himself. Location was great cos it in the middle of Waikiki beach and able to walk to the beach and plenty of great spots to eat, both affordable and fancy spots. McDonald's too was right next to us for a late night snack if you're awake and everything else is closed. One thing we didn't realize when we booked was we had to pay for parking for every single day. Self parking is cheaper; there was valet too which could make it easier if you're traveling with a larger group. Overall had an awesome experience.

Check in was a nightmare, especially coming off a late flight. Given room keys to a room that was already occupied. Awkward. The washrooms were small. Room standard. Location was great. Staff was friendly. Pool area was beautiful. One pool area was closed. Gym is great. Probably nicest one I've seen at a hotel. Huge aquarium in the lobby area was gorgeous and massive. 2 more elevators per tower would have been better. It was super busy at all hours of the day. Repeat stay? Maybe. I would like to try Moana Surf rider next.

Do not recommend staying here. Told our room was ready and it was not. Had massive hair chunks on shower walls, meaning they didn't even bother to open the shower curtains let alone clean the shower. There was blood on the wall and huge green stains on our towel. Our other friend's room phone did not work and they said that this side of the hotel is experiencing issues even though ours worked and we were 2 rooms away. Terrible customer service. Got a $50 refund total for our complaints. $50 is nothing compared to the price we paid. This is not a 4 star hotel and definitely not 4 star service. We thought this place was nice based on the lobby and pool but we were obviously fooled. Do not recommend to anyone.

DO NOT STAY HERE. They try and nickel and dime you like CRAZY. I’ve never stayed in a hotel like this before and obviously will never stay in this one again. They try and charge you $400 for smoking in the room EVEN IF YOU DON’T SMOKE! We were asleep and then woke up to a text saying they detected smoking with their special smoke alarms. We didn’t do anything at all and yet had to speak with the manager about it for them to waive the fee. The manager handled it well but this policy/system is absurd and disturbing. Then when we spoke to the front desk and they said it can even go off if you blow dry your hair!! So why are we having to fight to remove these fees when just a hair dryer can set it off? They’re faulty devices and just want any excuse to add $400 to your bill. Again, we didn’t even smoke. So if you smoke e-cigs, definitely do not stay here. But then again, they’re going to try and charge you a smoking fee whether you smoke or not! It feels like a Big Brother situation. We don’t want to be in our room for the fear of setting something off just using the shower. The devices also detect noise, not sure if they use it that way but it’s capable. We feel like we’re being spied on and blamed when we aren’t even doing anything. Also, when we arrived, the room smelled like mold and the bed linens smelled like they hadn’t been cleaned. There are so many better spots in the area. This place is really shady and not worth the hassle.

We booked here for our honeymoon and don’t get me wrong the front entrance looked amazing. But this was it really, the lady who checked us in was rushing us for no reason and when we got to our room we were surprised to see we were given a ’partial’ beach view (facing a hotel instead) although we had payed for the ocean view? When speaking to the front staff we were told we should have booked a ‘PREMIER’ ocean front room? And they cannot give us an upgrade although I told them this was our honeymoon and would have paid the extra. There is also no room service, so cannot enjoy a cocktail in your room unless you head down to the ABC store and get yourself some food and beverages which isn’t too big a deal but thought i’d mention. The balcony is also small. House keeping is every second day although you pay ridiculous amounts to stay here with all these extra fee’s that come with booking here. Our room was tidy, if you don’t mind the occasional finger nail and dust bunnies in areas the vacuum cannot reach. Location is great however the noise is ridiculously loud if you leave your balcony doors open. We did appreciate the pool as it was nice and the heated spa is really nice too but we barely used these services as the famous Waikiki beach is right next door. Drinks are affordable during happy hours and music was diverse too. Despite all this, we still did our best to ignore the very AVERAGE experience and make the most of our stay. Would not recommend staying here to be quite honest.

The resort must have been recently renovated and with great style. Rooms are spacious and modern, the infinity pool is nice, though it can get crowded and it is just next to the beautiful beach. The restaurants are great big names. I find the cost to be reasonable for the location, though the additional $60 resort fee per day can add on. Recommend to get an ocean view room, for obvious reasons. I was staying for 3 nights originally, but extended 3 more.

Fabulous location within easy walking distance to Waikiki beach and restaurants. An excellent cafe with some of the best Italian coffee in Hawaii is on site. Reception were very professional and accommodating to requests and made our stay easy and enjoyable. Our room was very clean and spacious with cleaning every second day. The pool area was a little disappointing and could be more family friendly. Allowing guests to down rounds of Tequila shots in the pool made this area feel more like an adult bar zone than a relaxing pool area suitable for kids.

Although we didn't stay here, we did visit their coffee shop! This hotel is beautiful, immaculate on cleanliness, and modern with a creative edge! I loved how much seating there was available for lounging. Also, the valet staff was very nice to greet us as we walked past them. And of course, the coffee was perfect! I don't think many people realize there's a coffee shop inside this hotel because there was no wait when there were long waits at other coffee stand locations. Total hidden gem! Also, the fish tank is a must-see! 5 stars!

First the good: the location. It’s right at Waikiki beach with a view to the beach. Walking distance from restaurants and shops. Lobby has a beautiful aquarium. That’s pretty much it for the pros. Staff is trying to accommodate but doesn’t have the resources to do so. The bad: it wants to be a luxury hotel but lacks attention to detail. The lobby area was dirty when we arrived. The carpet design makes it look dingy and add to the dirty feeling. Our room was not up to par. The toilet was broken and water keeps flowing. Walls are very thin and you can hear the conversation next door. No room service. We were told that there is only room cleaning every 2 days but then they failed to clean it on the day when they were supposed to. This hotel is definitely just a better off motel but no luxury hip hotel it claims to be. Overall for the same price, I can get a better hotel on the beach that is truly a 4 star hotel.

My husband and I stayed here for a week for our wedding anniversary. The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. The hotel lobby and pool area was very beautiful. The bed in our room was very comfortable but we felt the room needed an upgrade. It was clean and neat and the view was amazing! The hotel location is wonderful. Overall the stay was great and we would definitely stay here again.

Splurged for an oceanfront room with club access and didn't regret it. Renee helped us check in and she was incredible - funny, friendly and very helpful. Room was clean, bathroom a little tight, but the view was spectacular. Service was always quick when needed. Club access wasn't much more when I booked a room so worth it for us - breakfast buffet being the best perk. Evening hors d oeuvres were not as great, but nice area to sit and enjoy a free drink. Pool wasn't too big, but infinity pool with an ocean view is hard to beat! Highly recommend this place if you opt for a nicer room and don't need to pay much more for club access!

This resort was really nice! The rooms were really well appointed and loved the balconies overlooking Waikiki Beach! Every staff member treated us very kindly. Would definitely recommend to anyone traveling to Hawaii looking for a place that has all the amenities like shops restaurants pool exercise facilities etc.

Not what I have expect! Housekeeping never cleaned the room during the entire time of stay. Edges of the room had dust and was dirty, couch arm rest were filthy. I had to put a throw over it so I can sit. Luckily I’m a clean person and I kept the room nice and tidy! Had to ask a house keeper for clean towels and toilet paper. A company did my reservations and paid in full! My credit card was charged for hidden fees without my knowledge.

At $500 a night, you have to fight to get your room cleaned daily. A serious fight. They say it is because they care about sustainability. But they use plastic glasses everywhere, strongly blow super cold air on all floors (when not necessary) and rooms have no auto-switch off of the room lights when you leave the room. So much for sustainability! And for premium rooms, they converted a toilet room into en entire shower room where it is impossible to have 2 adults standing. But you have Japanese electric toilets, great! Also premium ocean front rooms nicely smell of frying oil after 5pm as the hotel restaurants do not use filters and share the horrible smell with all premium room paying customers. How nice! So one other advice: only ask for the very top floor premium ocean front rooms, above 12-13 floors! There is not one single staff who knows the guest services extension number (it is “0”). And the head of reception / front desk does not hesitate to lie her way out or make vile discriminatory comments to justify her own or other staff mistakes or lies. Lastly, the breakfast quality is well below the standards of a 4* hotel. Only the man cooking the eggs is doing his best. I had better breakfast in 2* hotels. Even at $500 a night, you need to spend $50 an hour to have access to the pool sofas. Why not $250 an hour? Now on the positives: Overall, rooms and hotel are clean. Pool bar staff are really nice. Room cleaning ladies are really good (at least I n our floor!). The ocean front facing rooms have the most beautiful views you can find on Waikiki beach. The Asian restaurant is affordable and really good. And the hotel remains one of the best hotels on Waikiki beach, which tells about the others…

I saw other negative reviews but decided to come anyway thinking the complaints were exaggerated but I can say I had a terrible stay here. Please take heed to the negative reviews. The rooms are super small. Not very luxury at all. Guest services impossible to reach. Our air went out plus our lights in the bathroom and we had to get ready for a tour in the dark. I was charged $700 “by accident “ for a room that I was not even in. We asked for a microwave in our room and continued to be told it’s on its way up for 3 hours. I even tried to book a massage and have yet to reach someone. The “concierge” over charges you for excursions (go online for better deals). I travel so much and this has by far been my worse experience

We had a great stay at the Alohilani Resort! The location is prime for Waikiki (steps from the beach, stores, and food), and the views on the beachside are AMAZING. That being said, our room wasn't super noisy from the street. No issues with the service (aside from a delay with our laundry, but not a big deal and the staff were very attentive and caring as we tried to track down our laundry!) and having an ABC store connected to the Hotel, as well as good restaurants / 2 Kai coffees (one is a stand in the lobby) is a huge plus. Parking is convenient (and you can self-park!). 5/5 would come back for another stay!

A fairly new resort in Waikiki Beach and we are so glad we chose this one! Absolutely a great location and so close to the beach. The staff were beyond amazing. There is a concierge texting service to provide answers to all your needs. With an AMEX card, you are provided with an enormous amount of perks and the host will provide you a list of everything so you don’t miss out. The ambience is gorgeous, so classy and beautiful. Gorgeous backdrops and even a full aquarium in one of the restaurants. The hotel gym is amazing and has pretty much everything you need, plus an outdoor training area and pickle ball court. The pool is also beautiful with stunning views of the ocean. The rooms could be better for the price you pay, and the bathrooms are quite small. Not as elegant as the rest of the resort. As far as parking, the price difference between self parking and valet are not that large so I would stick with the convenience and chose valet. Would absolutely come back to stay at this resort!

I recently had the pleasure of staying at a hotel that exceeded all my expectations. The standout feature of my stay was the exceptional service provided by Cameron and the bell service team. From the moment we arrived, they went above and beyond to assist us with all our beach needs. They were incredibly accommodating and showed genuine interest in ensuring we had everything we needed for a perfect beach vacation. The staff at the lounge also deserves a special mention for their attentiveness and excellent service. They were always on hand to cater to our needs and made us feel like valued guests throughout our stay. One particular staff member, William, who manned the pasta station, left a lasting impression on us. His kindness and dedication to ensuring we left the dining area full and happy each evening was truly remarkable. Our room was always cleaned well and left tidy. The convenient location added to the overall appeal, making it the perfect choice for anyone looking for a beach getaway with easy access to shops. If you're in search of a hotel that ticks all the boxes, look no further - this place is a gem!

We stayed here for 4 days and it definitely wasn’t my favorite hotel to stay at in Waikiki. To start, they don’t have fitted sheets on the bed and we inquired about this 4 times before they came to fix the sheets and that was only after I spoke with Alex the manager. He was very helpful. It’s not on the beach it’s across the street from it so the beach is public not private bc of this the pool is always jam packed with people. The Valet staff was wonderful and extremely efficient and friendly. The lobby near the Seascapes elevator smells like sewage- ALL DAY LONG-EVERYDAY. The hotel itself is very trendy definitely not for families with young children. We vacation in Waikiki every year but I don’t think we’ll come back to this hotel.

We stayed here a couple nights. It was quiet and the beds were very comfy- slept like logs. The carpets in the elevator lobby's on each floor are quite gross. Not sure why it would be so hard to vacuum them. The location is fantastic. only a short walk away from the beach. The front desk was nice but zero information given on the amenities that the hotel had and where to find them. I had to explore it all myself to see.

The best part of staying here was the Longboard club. Micah and his cousin Anson were two of the best waiters I’ve ever had. They were so attentive, so quick to refill our drinks, and so nice and accommodating. They really made our groups trip that much more special. We were all blown away by their service! Thank you for such a special experience! 11/10!

The view of Diamond head and the ocean from our room was amazing. We loved the balcony. The location of the hotel is fantastic and everything ran smoothly. The room was basic, but the bed was incredibly comfortable. We didn’t dine anywhere at the hotel, but did visit the patio and pool which was a great experience. I’d definitely stay here again.

A beautiful luxury hotel, located at the upper hand of Waikiki beach. Well appointed rooms and a comfortable bed. Passionate ocean views which was really lovely. My room had a view of the pool area and the beach. The staff are very friendly and there is a great coffee shop in the lobby area. As an Australian finding a flat white coffee in America is a rare thing. Clearly many Australians stay here. The only thing was the bathroom was a little small but hardly a drama.

I cannot explain just how disappointed I am after just a few hours here at the Alohilani “Resort.” First, let me just acknowledge that I’m probably not the target demographic. Maybe if you’re young and have money to burn, like the latest trends, and want to play on the beach all day and party all night, this place would be great. That’s not me. I likes nice room that I can relax in after a long day of activities. The location is fine if you want to be close to Waikiki Beach, and the lobby is trendy, but other than that I have nothing to recommend. The service was slow and unfriendly. We paid for an upgrade but the lady who checked us in didn’t give us the “right key” to access the limited access areas. The rooms are nothing special. The worst part is the noise. blaring music from the pool area that you simply cannot block out in any way because the walls and glass doors only reverberate the noise. I’ve never experienced a hotel with as much internal and external noises. The pipes run, there is a constant electronic droning from some system within the walls, the road noise, and the aforementioned pulsating club style music along with the requisite “woo girls” have me ready to pack my bags. I’m supposed to be on Oahu four more days. I think I’d rather throw myself into the volcano on my hike tomorrow than stay here any longer.

A beautiful hotel lobby. The service was great, the employees at the hotel were very nice. Room was a King Bed with Partial Ocean View on the 9th floor and it was decent. Here are some cons: - the shower not having a door - the towels smelt after one use - terrible pillows - the pool bar area should be for a more mature crowd, unfortunately kids in the pool area ruined the vibes Here are the pros: - we had an amazing view even if it was just a partial ocean view - the location!!! - their restaurants, food was yummy - very delightful staff Would definitely stay at this hotel again.

Excellent location and a fabulous hotel. We were 3 sisters sharing one room. It was a little small but apart from that we so enjoyed it. We had access to The Long Board Club room - Excellent!! Breakfast was delicious and varied and the staff especially Goh was so good. Afternoon snacks with wine and beer was a great way to start our evening. There was an issue with room service as it was not back to normal after the pandemic. There was no problem getting fresh towels etc as there was always a housekeeping cart on our floor. Definitely I'd recommend this hotel

  • 5/5 William W. 1 year ago on Google
The location is phenomenal. Within a few steps from the beach. The hotel is big but not gigantic like a few others that look like a little city of their own here in Waikiki. Staff is friendly and the convenience store attached to the hotel has most of the basic needs (beverages, cereal, fruit, sunscreen, etc). Happened a few times that we’ve requested towels and it took quite long (2+ hours). The pool is usually busy, but we mostly wanted to enjoy the beach anyway. It’s walking distance to the Waikiki Aquarium. I would stay here again.
