This was by far the worst experience I've ever had at a Marriott hotel. We booked a "deluxe room with a balcony". First off, we didn't get the balcony we paid for. Not unless they're calling the railing that's quite literally 2 inches from the sliding door a 'balcony' which would be ridiculous and reprehensible in any sense. The "deluxe" room in the other tower (across the parking lot) was extremely tiny and dated so I can't imagine what closets they're passing off for the standard rooms. Be sure to ask for a king bed at the check in desk if you want it, because they surreptitiously put in a note that it could be a king OR queen (I'm don't think ours was even a queen because it felt so small). The bathroom is especially tiny. The only redeeming feature about this hotel is the good water pressure in the shower. The tower building itself looked more like a motel and was dirty. There's no house keeping services offered. FYI, budget about 20 minutes to get your car in the morning since there is always a long line at the valet station. It is a very noisy area so getting sleep might be hard. Overall, I would not return here again.

Giving our visit 5 stars, not because it’s a 5-star hotel but because it is perfect at being what it is: a moderately priced, perfectly located, clean, attentive family hotel. I am surprised to read other reviews that complain about the odd broken faucet or cracked grout shower… this hotel is great value if you want to be near Waikiki but is also older and could use some maintenance, that shouldn’t be surprising if you consider the trade off for location and price relative to other hotels in the area. We loved the pool, which was usually uncrowded during the day. The front desk was friendly and helpful, and both on site restaurants were delicious.

THIS PLACE WILL LET YOU GO EIGHT DAYS WITHOUT ROOM CLEANING. I can say without a doubt this was the worst stay I have ever had. The hotel itself isn’t bad… location is good and the rooms are fine. However, the customer service and the room service are NON EXISTENT. I stayed for 8 days and didn’t get room cleaning ONCE. So for a week long I was buying my own towels, shampoo, and soap- despite requesting service. I even told the front desk, if I can’t get room cleaning at least give me a change of towels and toiletries. I received nothing. It wasn’t until the last night that I got room cleaning. And it was only because I complained 5x times. FIVE TIMES DURING MY EIGHT NIGHT STAY. I called multiple times for room cleaning. I asked the front desk multiple times for room cleaning. I didn’t get ANYTHING until my last night. I even left my room for hours at a time because I was told room cleaning would come. They never came. I make it a point to stay at Marriott because I expect a certain kind of service. But to go eight days with no room cleaning despite asking multiple times in person is insane. I recommend you skip this place and find somewhere else. The amenities are absolutely non-existent. They will ignore your request for room cleaning and service.

Being familiar with the usual Courtyard by Marriott hotels, I was very disappointed with this hotel. Yes, some of the reviews mention the location and if that's all that matters, I would agree that the location was okay. But, the room was very small, the bathroom was tiny and oddly shaped (and there was no shampoo or conditioner - just bar soap), and the balcony didn't seem secure so we couldn't even enjoy the balcony. (I'm sure they are tested and deemed safe, but we weren't believing it). We were there to finish our vacation and have a relaxing evening at the hotel. Don't look at the professional pictures by Marriott, be sure to look at the pictures posted by guests. If all that matters is location for a place to sleep and you won't spend much time in your room, it was okay. But, we were there for an evening in and we were very disappointed.

Totally a Motel! This is the worst Marriott hotel I’ve ever experienced. I expected this courtyard would be not good. But when I arrived, I was still surprised by the horrible environment and bad smell. I feel deceived by the photographer of the hotel. In the picture, it’s very decent. But the real room is totally another thing. The bathroom is super small and stinky. The hall is dark and terrifying. Also, there’s no cafe in this Courtyard, so no free breakfast at all.

The hotel is fine. It's on the entry side of Waikiki, so convenient. There are only 2 elevators for the tower, and the pool is rarely in sun. Be particularly warned that valet parking is $55 a night (but fast), and there is a junk resort fee of $35 a night that covers nothing you will care about at all. The AC is a mini split that works very well and the internet is fast.

A little rundown and outdated. The only king size bed available at check-in was the handicap suite which has the shower and toilet in the same room, separated by a curtain. While the shower had low pressure it still managed to flood the rest of the bathroom. Best part about the room was the breezy lanai overlooking the pool. Front desk staff are nice and there is a water cooler in the lobby for you to fill up your bottle for the day's activities. It's in a convenient location, close to the beach, if that's what you're looking for.

WARNING: Much better hotels available at better prices. Upon arrival This hotel charges $40 a day mandatory ‘destination fee’ for beach towels, GoPro hire and surf rental discounts but when I asked for more information on how to access these I was just again given the list of services. The staff have no information on how to access the services so you get no value from it. Room had black mould on curtains and in bathroom. House keeping forgot to clean our room and they only clean it every second day so we kept running out of towels. Hotel is on a main road above a bus stop so can be very noisy at night and early mornings. Room door frames have been painted too thick and doors don’t close properly. Staff were nice and location is good but we had a much better time at Shoreline Hotel for the first half of our stay.

Great location, good room. Extra nice front desk staff saved the day. Housekeeping is horrible. Every other day, did change some towels but not all. No replenishment of any soap, coffee. Not a single glass or plate in the kitchenette but we had a microwave. Safe and lamps required repairs, obviously not checked by Housekeeping beforehand. Overall not a bad place to stay in Waikiki but way, way below Marriott Courtyard standards. Marriott tarnished the brand here.

We stayed here to get out of the more crowded areas down the beach and that turned out to be good. The Courtyard had great people working the desk and Bar. They really put some effort into the activities on-site. Everything went downhill with the room... the AC just blew air regardless of how hot or cold you set it. My TV did not work which wasn't a terrible thing but would've been nice. The bathroom was terrible. Very little counter space, shower was like a coffin and the shower head was stationary so you couldn't move the flow of water anywhere. If coming for a night or two, this is a great spot, but I won't stay here again for longer work trips. The rooms need some serious updating and attention.

The check in process was quite stressful as it was delayed by about an hour and a half. The reservation was upgraded to a more spacious room. But then there was another caveat. The room smelled like people stayed there for months without showering. And I probably understand why too, as the bathroom is crazy small. The staff was very nice and helpful though. Valet is quick and efficient. The price is somewhat acceptable as well.

This hotel was pretty much our last resort after our flight was canceled late at night and we were stranded for 2 days until we could fly out. Let’s start by saying I felt like we were catfished… The lobby was nice and the staff was friendly, but the rooms were rundown. The air conditioner leaked straight down onto the carpet, I wouldn’t want to know what was underneath… The “lock” to our balcony sliding door was pretty much a pin. The bathroom was very dated and not the cleanest. We stayed for one night then fled to another Marriott in the North Shore which was pleasant. I honestly was surprised that the hotel carried the Marriott name being in that condition.

The photos are nothing like the rooms we stayed in. Totally felt catfished by the online photos. I’ve stayed at many Marriott and this one is far by the worse. Room 1157 - the shower was so gross and the fan looked like it’s never been cleaned. Couldn’t even find the switch to the fan. Thinking of shaving your legs for the beach? Could even stretch a leg out in the shower. Doors hardly shut because layers of a thousand coats of paint… The hotel would be good for guests used to staying in hostels.

Room was smaller than expected, although the balcony was large. Bathroom was really small, with some weird counter situation going on. The room lock got stuck a few times. Good atmosphere in the hotel overall, good service as well. Would recommend. Walking distance to the beach, good location

We were extremely satisfied with our stay. Arrived in early February and when we checked in, we found out we booked our stay for March on accident. The front staff was able to fix it for us. Every staff member we encountered was extremely friendly and exemplified excellent customer service. Sure, the rooms are old and the showers are small, but we didn’t come to Waikiki for the hotel room. The beach is only a short walk from the hotel. The hotel also has bikes you can rent and GoPros, which I thought was super awesome. I loved the fact that they had free sun screen available for use at the pool, since we didn’t bring any. The balconies were also a good size. Can’t say enough good things about the hotel. We will definitely be back.

Arrived early due to some time zone issues and wasn’t able to update my reservation. Wasn’t expecting a room at 8am, but let them know i was early and it been a long trip. They said they would text me when ready. Check in was 3pm, and its 4pm and I’m still sitting here. Excuse was maintenance is in the room. All the rooms the hotel has and maintenance is in the one you are holding specifically for me. Won’t use this hotel again as I watch them check others in that have not been waiting since the am and others with their whole family and luggage sitting out under a canopy. The Holiday Inn Express was by far better and cheaper my last stay. Not to mention the 40$ a day for parking to stay at their hotel. Beach resort is wrong also, they are a whole block from the beach. Basic hotel at resort rates.

Standard rooms are super small. The pool is nice and simple. In a great area. If you don't plan on staying in the room it's a decent place. Staff is nice. No breakfast. I would not bring my family. I was there during work.

Absolutely love this location! The Staff is amazing at the front desk. Easy to walk to great eating places and one of the stops for the Waikiki trolley

I really regret staying here. There were a few other hotel options within the same price range when I booked, and I wish I hadn't selected this hotel. I'm a loyal Marriott guy, but this is not the type of hotel I would expect from Marriott. The photos online are deceiving. The rooms look updated and clean. Sadly they are anything but. Mine smells musky and has visibly not been cleaned well. The walls are thin and the sliding door so uninsulated that the music from the pool makes it impossible to sleep. The bathroom is so tiny it's nearly impossible to stand at the sink. There is one single light in the bathroom- over the mirror. There is not a light in the shower. I feel like I'm at a high school gym. Staff is nice- hence the two stars. Other than that I would stay away. I was hoping the hotel would be relaxing, but sadly that is not the case. This feels more like a Red Roof Inn or Super 8.

Hotel is an older establishment with smaller rooms than many new places. This hotel is about a 5-10 minute walk from the beach and conveniently located near several food establishments. The hotel staff (suki) was very nice to work with. My extended stay was very nicely priced and the staff was able to work with me on the rate charged for valet parking. You might be pleasantly surprised if you simply ask about parking. Lobby is very nice and includes a small pantry with prices comparable to nearby convenience stores. Business center is small but equipped with a functional printer. Nearby band could be heard playing if out on balcony. No fear walking down streets after dark and never approached by beggars during my 3 month stay. The restaurant located on hotel property is over priced and quality of food is not there. You are better off venturing to other eating establishments. Nice pool and hot tub on site.

The hotel needs some improvements. In the main tower you have to wait forever to get on an elevator. I was "upgraded" to a motel style tower across the parking lot which meant losing my king sized bed and being in a room that was far from Marriott quality. I was there for 9 nights and when checking in was told rooms were cleaned every 5 days. My room was never cleaned and there was a pile of garbage outside out door almost everyday from cleaning staff. When I asked to move back into the original room with a king bed I was told they were booked and couldn't move me. I would not stay here again.

I never thought I would write a neutral to negative review for Marriott. The hotel in antiquated and dull. I spent two nights and the internet did not work the entire time. The front desk was staffed with nice folks. Upon check in I was told that only tower 2 was available or I needed to wait for tower 1. I asked what did they recommend and I was told “ definitely wait for tower 1”, the wait was very short which was nice. The room has single pane windows and all night long you hear LOUD traffic and activity on the street. All I could think about was if it was recommended to wait for tower 1 how bad was it in tower 2. It is in a nice location but that is all I can say about it.

Stayed here for three nights recently for a work trip. Reasonable prices, friendly staff and nice rooms. The location is great. It’s about a 6- 10 min walk to the beach and high end shopping. There is a small but nice pool on the property and a coffee shop with to go breakfast in the lobby. Kalo is a restaurant on the corner of the hotel and it’s wonderful - very fresh and flavorful food. It starts serving breakfast at 6:30 am. Overall I was very pleasantly surprised and would stay here again.

4*’s for what it is. A centrally located in the middle of it all budget motel, but not in a hostel way. Room was clean, Platinum recognition was high floor with a view of the ocean. Check in staff is friendly. Bar looks out over the pool and has a nice relaxed beach vibe. The Alii coffee shop in the lobby is excellent. Lots of great shops and restaurants, in all directions. A great inexpensive home base to explore if you don’t bring your car. FYI: Parking is $48 a day which they don’t post on their website. Valet parking crew is fast and efficient.

Zero Starts would be more accurate - this was the worst Marriott experience of my life! The Courtyard by Marriott Waikiki Beach should be torn down. I reserved a Corner Suite for 1 night for over $400 so my 85-year-old father could have his own room with easy access to the bathroom and a separate AC unit. We had to walk to another tower with our luggage which wasn't the easiest since my father is partially blind, and the wheelchair ramp is excessively steep. The room was very old and run down with only a sofa bed, TV and desk and chair, and no sitting chairs. When I set up the sofa bed, the mattress was a box spring. I asked for a mattress, and they brought a comforter! We requested another room and were moved to a single room with two full beds. We made do and went to bed. We were all asleep and at 10pm a staff member not only knocked on our door, but also called our room to ask if we had called them with a question about our TV. REALLY??? Who calls a guest late at night with a question like that??? Our stay was extremely disappointing which is unfortunate because Waikiki Beach should be one of the most magical places in the world!

Room smells so bad. Couldn’t even sleep whole night. Front desk doesn’t answer calls. Not enough towels in the room. Showers are too small, couldn’t even stand in shower. I do not recommend this hotel. Overall, room looks very old and bad smell, and I think they haven’t changed the carpet since it was built. If there were - reviews, I could have gave minus 10. STRONG NO NO NO NO

The location was great, room was very clean. Which are things to be expected for a hotel. The hotel advertised a partial ocean view but you can’t really see the ocean from the window and can only sit on the balcony (which is a bit scary because of the heights) to see the ocean on the left. The stay was good overall but I don’t consider it a very good deal given the premium we paid for the ocean view

I generally prefer positive feedback, but I had a disappointing experience with the Marriott recently. Having worked there for four years in the past at other Marriott, I'm familiar with their service standards. It's disheartening to see a decline in the overall experience. Room service should better understand stay-over cleaning procedures, and there were challenges reaching both the front desk and room service by phone. The front desk should communicate policies during check-in, and a lack of politeness and generosity was evident. I wouldn't recommend this place; there are better options at a similar price.

The valet staff is awesome. Donovan is a nice young man; the only reason I gave a 2 star for service. I asked the hostess for a quiet room and away from the elevator as I am a very light sleeper. I asked for a higher room. She would not give us a room on a higher floor. In fact, she gave us a room on the 8th floor, front side of the hotel where there is tons of traffic, people yelling, and noise, noise, noise. Rooms are tiny. The a/c isn’t the greatest. Room smelled of mildew. Pool area was nice but no one picked up the towels or refreshed the complimentary lemon water that had been sitting out all day. Not impressed with this place. Oh and if they would’ve told us there is a complimentary water station when we checked in, we wouldn’t have had to spend a lot on bottled water. 😒 Don’t buy anything at the bar. We spent $11 and received a 12 oz (or smaller) cup of disgusting beer and a coke.

This hotel couldn't be in a better location ,easy 5 minute walk to the beach. Access to the trolley , many restaurants , tons of shopping . Rooms are small but comfortable, coffee shop is very good, bar is great, located next to the very pretty pool and hot tub, they have a business center if you need any admin office help. Staff is super friendly. Only drawback is rooms are not cleaned enough, we asked they be done every 3 days and I. Two weeks they only came in once. This is a covid staffing g issues so not entirely their fault, if you can hang with it, the place is a very good choice for your stay in Waikiki.

  • 3/5 Erin A. 11 months ago on Google
This hotel feels dated. The lobby and check-in areas are nice and seemed updated recently but the rooms need work. Bubbled paint from water damage, rusty, wonky bathroom fixtures, the smallest shower I've experienced, with a teeeeny shelf to hold your soaps. Room was lacking outlets, offered no toiletries and had disappointing coffee. The staff were all friendly and very courteous and the hotel is located in a great area with lots of good places to eat/drink within walking distance Having just stayed at two other Marriott properties in the last two weeks, this was lackluster. It's just not what I expect as far as quality from a Marriott.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Courtyard Marriott in Waikiki, and I cannot express enough how impressed I was with the outstanding service and attention to detail throughout my entire stay. From the moment we arrived at the front desk, Tanya, a true gem of an employee, went above and beyond to make our experience exceptional. Upon check-in, we mentioned to Tanya that we had experienced a power outage at home for a few days already, and we were feeling a bit uneasy. Tanya immediately took charge, showing genuine concern and ensuring that our transition to the Courtyard Marriott was seamless and stress-free. Her warm and welcoming demeanor instantly put us at ease, and we knew we were in good hands. Tanya listened attentively as we described our preferences and needs for our room. We were pleasantly surprised by her thoroughness and dedication in finding the perfect room to meet our requirements. Throughout our stay, Tanya was always ready to assist with any inquiries or requests we had. It felt like having a personal concierge who genuinely cared about ensuring our time in town was nothing short of amazing. From the moment we stepped into the Courtyard Marriott in Waikiki until our departure, Tanya and the entire staff at the front desk went above and beyond to make us feel welcomed and valued as guests. Their exceptional customer service, coupled with the hotel's fantastic amenities, left an indelible impression on us. If you're planning a visit to Waikiki, I wholeheartedly recommend the Courtyard Marriott. And if you have the pleasure of encountering Tanya at the front desk, consider yourself lucky! Her genuine care, attention to detail, and ability to turn a challenging situation into a remarkable time truly exemplifies the high standards of hospitality we experienced throughout our stay. Thank you, Tanya, and the Courtyard Marriott team, for an unforgettable and truly five-star experience. We look forward to returning in the near future!

Whoa! So excited to come back! Booked this place for a excellent rate at ʜᴏᴛᴇʟʙᴜʟʟʏ.ᴄᴏᴍ I love this hotel and I'm really happy I stayed here cheaper than what I typically pay. Super friendly staff, great location. They have a nice pool, bar and lounge area and a cool coffee shop on the first floor as well. Really enjoying my stay here and I would stay here again.

I only have 1 bad thing to say about the hotel. Parking is $51 a day. Ok now the good. When we got there the people at the front desk are very kind and definitely know how to do their job. We were checked in in about 5 minutes. Finding the room was easy. The room is a but small but clean, stocked, and doesn't have a bad smell loke most hotels do. The poll and pool area is clean and beautiful. No complaints here

Pros: Location. Walkable to restaurants, bars, beach, etc. Modern and clean Staff very very friendly Pool is beautiful Safe - keycard access to your floor on elevator Comfortable bed Let us cancel one of our nights when we had to change plans due to our international flight layover/cancellation was resolved We did not try or visit them but on site bar and coffee shop Cons: Room very small but I assume that was because we didn’t pay extra or something. Our room was one bed by choice. Parking - valet only and very expensive but can’t really ding them for that as it’s normal in the area. Parking garage nearby was slightly cheaper. Street parking is time limited meters. No other complaints Overall the experience was excellent for what we paid. Nothing fancy or inspiring ocean view but if someone asked if it’s an excellent place to stay if you don’t care about being a few blocks from the beach

I really liked the price of the hotel for such a great place to visit in the World (Hawaii). Got a 218$ rate per night, which is pretty good. As a Gold member, I got the chance to stay on an higher floor. We got lucky about that to get a nice view and being away from the street, as other review means they hear a lot of noise from the street. The bed was really comfortable as always. Decoration is pretty basic and the shower is pretty small. I really liked the pool atmosphere (jungle like) and also the fall that give even more ambience to the pool area. Christie at front desk was phenomenal ! Lot of people says room are small, but anyway you are mostly in your bed to sleep or watch TV while in the room, so doesnt matter. Every room has balcony, thats a great ++.

  • 5/5 C D M. 1 year ago on Google
Although a little expensive it was worth it. I was able to try some new Hawaiian dishes. The service was incredible! The cleanliness was top notch. I loved the pool and the hot tub. The valet did a phenomenal job! And I want to shout out to Jun. He makes the most amazing Mai Tai. Jun was an incredible bartender and a must experience you visit. Everybody was very pleasant and friendly. It's located close to everything walking distance wise.

The hotel is lovely! Great staff! They were able to give us an early check in. The pool is fun for the kids. The bathroom was an odd design...huge space with a tiny shower. But the balcony was nice! The little souvenir store was cute too. Good location just one road over to the main strip. About a 10-15 minute walk to the beach. Not too far from the Zoo and Aquarium. All in all....very happy with the stay.

Staff were nice and helpful. This includes front desk, valet and maintenance. I didn’t interact with anyone else. First room we were given had a cockroach crawl across the bed pillow. I immediately asked for another room and the front desk was quick to oblige. Only issue of my replacement room was that the lock on the bathroom didn’t work. The bathroom on the ground floor of the second building didn’t have any TP. Note you need a card key to use it. They really should do a better job of maintaining these.
