Arriving at the hotel, it immediately looked very ghetto and unlike the pictures on the website. Everything from the lobby floors to the rooms seemed dirty. They DO NOT clean the rooms unless asked by guests. Carpets are stained, bedsheets are stained, chairs are stained, the couch bed had to be completely changed as it was unkempt, messy, and stained. The garbage can was filled with garbage from the previous guests and the room smelled funky. After asking for clean couch bed sheets, and being greeted by a rude security guard instead, the new sheets felt like the only safe place to sit in the room. Trying to disinfect the room with a UV light disinfecting wand only revealed more stains. Don’t bother trying to cook in the kitchen, kitchen tools (knives, forks, can openers) are rusty, stained, and unwashed. The wifi is awful, and disconnects every few seconds. The hotel overall seems very dirty and I would not recommend anyone to this hotel.

Great value. The room was clean & with fresh paint, no pests whatsoever. The shower pressure was great. It’s a great place to crash after a long day out and about. It’s not the most luxurious hotel but it’s at a great price point. The AC worked really well and they have a system for the parking overflow. Bed was comfortable. I wish we had more pillows though. Honestly great value and great location. Can’t beat the price for what you get! The only thing I didn’t like was the elevator. It works no issues there. It was too old for my liking so I used the stairs.

The hotel is ok. Very modest. Rooms are spacious. Staff was friendly at check in. Location is great. Hotel definitely needs some remodeling, but other than that, all good. I didn’t use any of the amenities, so I can’t say much about it. There is a TON of options for food right next to the hotel. As a solo traveler I felt safe during my stay at Pearl.

If you're looking for classy; this ISN'T for you! But if you're looking for friendly, great service, and convenience for a good deal...this IS the place for you. Last year, I was not as happy until after I left. I realize that I was comparing this hotel to other hotels. However, when I thought about my experience, how much I saved, and how friendly the staff were....I was happy, which is why I came back here this year. To those who complain, it's because your eyes are flawed. True that it's not the cleanest of hotels; the carpets are dirty and the furniture is kind of outdated, but if you see beyond that...it's a great place to be! My stay this year was awesome and I wish I could stay here next year. But...it won't be ready - I hope it will be though - as they will be tearing it down and rebuilding it. I appreciate the service, the convenience, and my stay there!

Excellent location. 2 blocks from Waikiki beach and around many food choices. The staff are helpful and friendly. Bed is good. Room is quite roomy. Price is good for Waikiki. Alternative parking 2 blocks away if you want to save $15 a day.

This hotel is a ghetto. The air conditioning is loud. The room is small and filthy, and there is no view. The front desk gals were mean and give you a room for the least price possible, regardless of how much you paid for the room. I got very upset when I checked in and requested to leave the next day. I am so glad I left. I found another hotel at a cheaper price. I get to stay in a much better place with a sky view, a balcony, and a mini kitchen. PLEASE AVOID STAYING AT THIS HOTEL!

Clean and tidy rooms (if a little tired looking in places lampshades and grilles could do with replacing) and friendly staff. Room to room soundproofing is good, but room to outside is truly awful, single glazed windows with retrofit A/C that is not well sealed. Top section of windows are glazed louvres. All this means that you can hear everything that is happening outside even down to tweeting birds, which means you can expect a 6am wake up call every morning from all the street noise. If you like a lie in don't go to this hotel.

It was not the best play to stay. The bed was too soft the floor was dirty and the bath was very slippery when having a shower. The air conditioner was so loud you could not here the television They told me that the room would not be cleaned while I was there but I was away on a bus tour and when I came back my room had been cleaned but i had not locked my cases as they told me before. the fridge was leaking so I had to put a towel on the bottom of it and it did not keep the food very well. I was sick and vomited and I told the desk but when the cleaner came up to clean she treated me like I was below her and I should not be at this place

The location & price are the big winners here. The room was very spacious (more like a one bedroom apartment) & clean but VERY dated. Housekeeping on request only & it’s hit or miss but the staff is helpful & friendly. The parking was convenient & easy to use. You are located right by everything here. Good restaurants & tons of shopping. Cut through the international marketplace & you pop out right by the beach. They offer some nice options for beach equipment as well. We were dropping our daughter off at college so wanted an economical trip not a luxury vacation & this definitely fit the bill. They offered great discounts for university families.

It is an average hotel in the middle of the city. I did not like their policy. I booked hotel for a day and then extended it for two more days and they did not give me any discount as they agreed over phone. There are so many hotels around it with better service and cheaper with partial sea view. I would not recommend this. Please do research enough before you book. Not Recommended.

The Pearl Hotel is certainly an aged hotel. It could use a facelift in multiple ways. The furniture is worn/rusted. It certainly does not look much like the pictures on their website. The doors do not fit their frames and are very difficult to shut (unless you close them with force) and therefore cool air escapes the room and you are interrupted at all hours of the night by doors slamming. The walls are also not noise proof. We had quite a few noisy neighbors during our stay and had to keep the air conditioner on all night to block out the noise. Most of the rooms either look out at a moderately busy street or at a back area where you can see the Hilton just across the way. The staff are all very friendly. The rooms are not cleaned during your stay unless you request them to come by. The front desk offers Go Pro rentals, which are fantastic for use at Hanauma Bay. The International Marketplace is just down the block. It's a great place to go for meals. Beach access is about three blocks away but within walking distance. There is an amenities fee that is not announced anywhere until you show up. A little research indicates this is the norm for most hotels in central Waikiki. Overall I would say pay a little more for a decent hotel but if you don't mind all these things, the Pearl Hotel is a bargain.

The room is spacious, but quite old and dirty. The spring beds were uncomfortable and blankets were thin blankets, felt cold at night even with AC turned off/higher temperature. Avoid room 710… had bed bugs, along with other bugs all over the bathroom and microwave/fridge area. My husband and I got many bites.. Front desk people are nice though, we were able to switch rooms the next day, but didn’t receive any other compensation. The amenities of having 3 credits per day to rent out beach stuff was nice. The shop to rent at was kind of far though, almost a mile walk. The option to rent a GoPro from the hotel was cool.

This hotel truly served its purpose. Very convenient as it is right near the beach and quite a few eateries. It is very dated but clean. The carpets outside really needs to be replaced and not painted over. Also, is very sad that you get charged for parking plus there's tax added on. Didn't like that at all.

Fantastic location close to the International Market and Waikiki Beach. Overall it was a great place to stay. We booked the 2 bedroom suite that can fit 6 people, only complaint was the room set up. It was odd that the shared bathroom was in one of the bedrooms, and the closet was in the other bedroom. The regular beds were very comfy but the sofa bed and spare beds were extremely uncomfortable, and sunken in. The balcony was large. The electrical plug ins occasionally did not work which is strange. The overall price of the hotel is excellent for those looking for an affordable vacation and looking for a place that is in the heart of Waikiki. Most other places in the area were more expensive. Parking is extra, and there were limited spots available. No street parking available. This is expected because the hotel is in the middle of the downtown area.

Jeffrey at the front desk is a godsend! I flew in for a family emergency, and Jeffrey helped print me maps to the exact places I needed to go, was willing to upgrade my room to accommodate my handicapped mother if I could get her, and worked above and beyond to help in any way possible! This hotel is right in Waikiki near all the attractions but without the exorbitant resort rates. It was perfect for what I needed at the time. Thank you again to the pearl!

Actually not too bad, pretty fine hotel. Wifi is TERRIBLE though, maybe it's just for me, but it was very slow. People in reception are very friendly. Hotel does not serve breakfast or other food, it also does not have pool and other fancy stuff. You get a nice clean room and some additional amenities. Parking is $41 total, if parking next to the building is fully reserved, you get the parking place in the parking garage of International Market across the street. You can store luggage with them after checkout at no cost. Location is pretty convenient, close to Waikiki Beach, stores, cafes and all the stuff.

Very clean. The staff is friendly and prompt service. It is definitely a place just for sleeping, albeit comfortably though. There's no pool or spa. But, The beach is a short walk away. Shopping and restaurants are right across the street. The local strip has street entertainment every night!

Ruined our vacation ! State let’s you in but hotel won’t ! We were booked here by a third party as part of a trip we were awarded . They gave us the name of the hotel a week before arrival . We called and confirmed reservations . At no time speaking to either party we’re we informed that only vaccinated people were allowed to stay .We we’re shocked to find out on arrival at 8:00pm ,after a full day of travels , that we had no place to stay all week ! They did not care that we passed the state requirements to stay , and we were just S.O.L ! We called many other hotels looking for a place we could stay ,and none of them required proof of vaccination .We stayed at a much nicer place, with much nicer people ! I wasn’t looking forward to sharing with the roaches people showed in the photos here anyway .

The stay was great. Clean room. Great service. Convenient location in the prime location of the Waikiki strip. Due to covid there is limited room service and which you have to call front desk to arrange. This is great. It's to protect the guest and employees. The front desk staff are professionals. One of the team members is excellent, forgot his name but local Japanese, you know who you are. My apologies if I forgot your name. The hotel staff are also great. I dont mind staying here again in my upcoming visit this year. Thank you Aqua Waikiki Pearl. 5 stars for the stay

Average place. When I checked in, it seemed like it was an inconvenience that I ask any questions to the young lady working. However, when I spoke later that day to a young man I wish i could remember his name (Daniel or David) he was absolutely the best, alot can be learned from him. First thing we noticed in our rooms is that they were NOT properly cleaned nor had they been for a while. We found mold in the bathroom in the shower seat that my disabled father did not use due to it being disgusting. We only found 1 floor with a washer and dryer (1 washer out of 3 was serviceable). The pull out couch was also unusable for an adult. I did love the kitchen area, saved us money on eating out. I don't think I can come back to this place, soley because of the mold we found. Needs to be inspected regularly.

Great location, good service from the front desk whenever I asked them for changes or assistance. The rooms are minimal, and older but it is a cheap hotel stay for this area. The cleaning service is by request or in-between stays so if you have expectations of frequent maid cleaning, then find somewhere else. It is close to bus routes and close to shopping, and the beach. Also, keep in mind that Waikiki is a lively place, that means it can be noisy late at night. Make sure to exhaust yourself with beach fun or whatever so that you can sleep good. 😂

Okay so, I just came back from Hawaii yesterday, and Pearl Hotel Waikiki was where i was staying. They charged me so many fees, I had to pay 300$ for parking. And oh my gosh the rooms were dirty, nothing like the pictures, the fridge had brown stains all over, and under the bed had so much trash from the last people who stayed. The bathrooms had mold, and the room smelled. I couldn’t even sleep, it was so noisy. Apparently it was a smoke free hotel, but we smelled someone smoking weed from one of the rooms next to us. Staff were nice, and it was a mall close by, that helped a little.

I enjoyed our one night stay in the pearl hotel! Overall, it was excellent value for your money. The people at the reception were very nice. The location is perfect, rooms are very spacious, with a nice balcony. However, please note the hotel does feel luxurious. For example, the floor carpet is very used.

I’ve seen a lot of mixed reviews about this place, we are local and needed a last minute place to stay for a surf festival on Waikiki. I was hesitant after reading some reviews because we have a toddler and 3 adults but when I saw the 2 bedroom suite option my mind was at ease ! Our son could go to sleep early in a separate room and we had plenty of space to hang out after that . The staff was very helpful, friendly and accommodating. The rooms are not fancy and they are outdated but that didn’t bother us , it was clean and the space was comfortable and made for a lovely staycation for us! It felt like a home away from home. The price was perfect for us as we live in Hawaii where everything is so expensive as is, so was nice to find something affordable. The location of hotel is EXCELLENT, just steps away from the hustle and bustle of Waikiki. With its excellent pricing it’s not a “5 star” hotel so don’t complain that it isn’t one. We had a lovely getaway and our son LOVED his stay there, he was crying the whole way home because he wanted to go back. Just found out today they are closing to renovate , we were hoping to stay again this winter! I hope they don’t loose the affordable options as well as the 2 bedroom suites ! Thanks Pearl for a lovely getaway

Really want to say this place was great. Staff were friendly. Hotel was conveniently located. Offered a ton of amenities like free beach towels and even GoPros you can borrow for the day. Price was great too. Only issue is the doors locking mechanism seems to force you to slam it shut which, given the orientation in the rooms, results in a wall-rattling slam every time someone enters or exits their room. Constantly woken up by my neighbors entering and exiting their room even though I believe they were doing their best to be quiet. It's hard to describe just how big a bang these doors make when they close. Bolt upright out of bed loudness. If you're not getting wokrn up odds are you're waking others up.

The rooms definitely need upgrading, but for the price in Hawaii, it was reasonable. There is no pool. The service ranged from wonderful to poor depending on your arrival. The manager and day staff are wonderful. The overnight staff needs a bit of customer service training. The location is wonderful because it's very near so many attractions.

I recently stayed at this hotel, and I have to say that my experience was fantastic. From the moment I arrived, James was welcoming, helpful, and professional. He made sure that all of my needs were taken care of, and he went above and beyond to ensure that my stay was comfortable and enjoyable. The location of the hotel was convenient. It was situated in a quiet area, away from the hustle and bustle of the city, but still within easy reach of all the major attractions. There were also plenty of restaurants, cafes, and shops in the vicinity, so I never had to go far to find something to eat or buy. Overall, I would highly recommend this hotel. The staffs there are nice and wonderful. The rooms were clean and spacious, and the location was great. I will definitely be staying here again on my next trip.

for the price, you get the basics, stay here if you want a good location but thats about it, not sure what the extra amenity fees are charging for when there is no pool and no fitness center, also expect to pay more for parking. It seems like a good deal until you get there and they starting wracking up the fees. Next time id stay somewhere else

Location was ideal. Staff was friendly. Room was okay - it had a fridge, microwave, and coffee maker. The sheets had bodily fluid stains. The bathtub was very slippery (actually fell). We paid $40/night for parking off-site at International marketplace. However there was plenty of parking on site at the Pearl hotel. I think that they only let you use those spaces if you book direct with the hotel and the Expedia/Priceline customers get shafted. The location really is the best part of the hotel.

  • 2/5 Rizza T. 2 years ago on Google
The room is decent, not the best. Parking sucks, and the staff I had to deal with got an attitude. I was tired and exhausted and she was rude. She could've explained nicely why we weren't allowed to park on the lot. They charged us 39 plus tax each day for parking off the property.

Wasnt as close to the water as i wanted, but if not by the water is wear i have to be i choose this place! The staff was amazing, kind and helpful! The 2 bedroom sweet was perfect for my family and they even made sure our 2bd hotel room was right next to us.

Cute little hotel. Front desk professional. Upon entering, you will find hand sanitizer and near the elevator. Room is huge.

Modest hotel behind the international market places. Close to food and shops/ bus stops etc...7 min walk to the beach through the market place then through the outrigger hotel or nearby alley. Rooms have microwave and fridge and front desk is friendly and helpful. Not a resort and wifi is not password protected.

Pearl Hotel is a great price for the location in the center of Waikiki. I extended my trip to Hawaii and needed somewhere to stay for one night without breaking the bank. The rooms are dated, but quite spacious and have everything you need for a comfortable stay. I would definitely stay here again if I needed affordable accommodation in Waikiki.

  • 5/5 Kim K. 1 year ago on Google
Hotel is in a great area and I had a room with a balcony that overlooked all the action/lights of Waikiki life. The staff was great and helped when I need to return home ahead of schedule. This was the second time staying here and believe me there will definitely be a 3rd.

We got a family suite so two bedrooms and a pull out couch. The pull out couch bed was the worst. The mattress was not level at all, the top part was going into the couch. Like back in and my daughters were over it. Felt so bad but what can we do? Oh and they provide TWO pillows for each bed minus the pull out couch, no extra blankets, Thank God we brought our own. the beds were incredibly uncomfortable and I left my vacation with back and neck pain.I tried sleeping on the edge but kept rolling into the middle because of the indent. The bathroom shower honestly did not look clean at all. There was ants in the kitchenette. The room carpet looks like it has never been deep cleaned. No pool/hottub. Parking is like $40/day, with tight parking and limited spaces. Housekeeping was per request or every 3 days. We were a family, cleaning honestly needed to be done everyday. We would request and they wouldn't do it for us just say "we will see what we can do". The only thing they would do is send up extra bath towels everyday cause we would call and ask, and they took our trash once. Stay with caution. I feel scammed and annoyed a vacation is supposed to relax you, how do you relax when the room isn't clean and ur kids are uncomfortable? We stayed for a week, sadly.

Price is the only maybe good thing about this place. But then it's in Waikiki, so it's overpriced anyway. I have never seen such rundown carpet in our room. It was very sticky and thin. The couch smells funky. I advise you not to run your fingers through high surfaces or ledges, they will get covered in dirt. This place is so run down. The beds are uncomfortable. There is a under the cabinet microwave that doesn't work. Their fridge even has turned yellow. Just a really dirty place

I only stayed here for one night because the hostel I had wanted to book was full that day. The price of the hotel is more than listed, as are many of the Hawaii hotels due to taxes and fees. They also charge a mandatory $30 amenities fee, which I had to pay for even though I did not need to or want to use any of the amenities (wifi, beach rentals, etc.). As a solo traveler, this is not a place you can meet people easily. Overall, was fine for a one night stay but nothing special

  • 4/5 Jordi M. 2 years ago on Google
Pretty nice! Way better than the average rating suggests. Room was big and cozy, airco worked well. There were some problems with the self serve laundry, but other than that enjoyed my stay here.
