Terrible experience. The hotel is very old and needs a renovation. We couldn’t use the AC because it stinks. We took the filters out and they wasn’t cleaned for at least a few years, and it helped a little bit. No windows so we basically had no air. The last night at 4am our room filled with smoke and strong smell of something being burned, we were it’s fire but no fire alarm was on. The smell and smoke was strong so we couldn’t be in the room since 4am. We had to check out and move out. The room was also very dirty and full of previous guests hair. The area around is full of homeless people but it’s a downtown so it’s kinda as it should be in America. Very bad experience with this place The stuff was very helpful and nice tho. That’s the only good thing about this hotel - the stuff

Spent 3 nights here without complaint. It's well located to my business needs. Lots of restaurants nearby. Clean. Very helpful staff. The hotel is old. The restaurant in the hotel is closed. Coffee in the room only. My room had a washer, dryer, and full kitchen and even though I did not need that, it would be handy for extended stays. The key fob for the elevator is clunky but doable. At night, some homeless encamp around this and other buildings but were not a threat. Overall, pretty decent.

Stayed for a week. Rooms are big, nice having a full size fridge. Housekeeping does excellent job. Walking distance to convenience stores and restaurants. Smell of cigarettes, cigars, and food travel through the vents. Restaurant in hotel is closed. Elevators and escalators are being repaired. Not much of amenities. Parking is $34 a day.

Great hotel for business travelers. There’s a Walmart nearby where you can buy groceries however it will be closing April 21, 2023 according to the local news and to the pharmacy manager whom I spoke to in person. The views on the ocean side are stellar. You can see the Honolulu golf ball patrolling it gets really close in the mornings. The pool is large and it’s great. The hot tub is even better. There is a little construction but it’s only beautification and upgrades. Everything is still usable. The snacks and the laundry are on the third floor and the pool is on the 11th floor, the water pressure in the Jets for the shower and the end room spa are amazing absolutely stellar some rooms have a bit of a smell from when the hotel was smoking over 20 years ago some of the smell still remains and may bother a sensitive nose. The staff is very well accommodating and goes above and beyond the staff deserves five stars all day long.

The rooms are quite large with a nice kitchenette, but the furnishings and decor are a bit tired considering the nightly room rate charged. We stayed here since we were attending a show at the historic Hawaii Theater two blocks away. The downtown location of the Aston EC Hotel makes it the only choice in this part of Honolulu, and being right on the edge of Chinatown district there are several great restaurants within a few blocks. Yes, this is a gritty area of downtown, with alot of vacant businesses and a modest homeless issue, but certainly no worse than the Chinatown districts in Seattle or Portland.

The biggest reason for the lowered rating is the lack of wheelchair accessibility. My family member and I booked an accessible room, and we were placed in a room that, yes, was large, but had absolutely no accommodations for someone using a wheelchair. It was incredibly difficult for my family member to get into the bedroom and bathroom, and there was no way for them to shower. If they had been in a manual wheelchair, we would have needed to find another place to stay. Additionally, there is only one elevator that lets out to the street, and when coming in from the street you must call security first. I understand this design is to prevent homeless folks from coming into the hotel, but it made us feel unsafe when we had to wait on the street, especially when we wound up coming back later than expected and it was dark out. I would not recommend staying here if you or a loved one has a disability that affects mobility. Honestly, it wouldn’t be my first choice as an able-bodied person, either.

Great customer service, secured hotel and also security 24/7, pool and spa was nice. Loved the space in the rooms, the amenities and the view! Will definitely stay again if ever back in Hawaii. Location was central to lots of beautiful places. Definitely recommend price for the stay as it was comfortable and safe.

your security needs a huge attitude adjustment. unprofessional and rude. bigger Caucasian lady. not to mention the other security dumoing what looked like mop water near my car that I was forced to park on the side outside. if your residents are going to order delivery, have an area for the delivery drivers to park, having to park on the side of the road to make a delivery shouldn't be a thing, and if you're going to have us do that make sure your security understands the urgency. all she did was start coughing in my face.

The rooms are old and so are the bathrooms with a terrible smell. We only came there to sleep. It isn't quite what the photos show. Not worth the money. There are a lot of good hotels around for the same amount of money or even cheaper. This Hotel is not what is advertised. Will never be back!

Staff was great, room was good for extended stay (full size fridge, kitchenette, etc.) but I was uncomfortable leaving the building. I only stayed 3 nights and was actively asked for change, food, or coffee at least 6 times; once I was followed into one of the nearby restaurants.

Spacious room with a full small kitchen, a bathroom with a large tub and a washer/dryer, and a large bedroom with a view. The neighborhood around the hotel has many AMAZING restaurants, and it is very easy to access Ala Moana and Waikiki beaches (in fact, much of Honolulu) via the multiple bus lines that come right by the hotel. Keep in mind you are in downtown Honolulu, and not the tourist-filled streets of Waikiki.

Recently stayed at this place. The location is idle and closer to many places. Great way to avoid traffic in Waikiki and city. However, the property is extremely outdated and desperately need renovation. The room had a moldy odor, with dirty floors and shower. We even found hair on pillow cover and shower tub. There were loose cables on the floor which was very unsafe. The hotel staff was courteous.

The rooms here are good, well at least ours was. They are a little dated but clean, comfortable, and spacious. We were on the 36th floor with awesome water views. The service was excellent. The staff happily stored our bags until check in time, but when we returned to the hotel after doing/seeing the things we had to do, they went out of their way to arrange an early check in. This was really appreciated as we had been flying all night and were really tired. The location depends on your activities. We were cruising out of Honolulu, so it's an excellent choice. Regardless of your reason, there are public buses almost at the door, and the 7Eleven right next door will sell you a 'HOLO' card to use them. There is an excellent bus network in Honolulu, so worth considering this option.

Stayed here last week with my wife and chose this hotel because it was closer to the capitol and the palace. In theory it sounded good but was a big mistake. The area around the hotel (and I understand that this is out of their control) was not tourist friendly. Lots of homeless wandering around, people sleeping on sidewalks, abandoned looking buildings (the longs drugs at the bottom of the hotel was shuttered), and generally did not look safe. The hotel itself does not have a restaurant or room service, so you will be forced to look around the hotel, which is fine unless you want to eat after 3pm (most of the restaurants close after this time). Now for the hotel itself. The staff was friendly and tried to be helpful, but they could only do so much. There is no fitness center at this hotel (a first for us since even the holiday inn has a basic setup) but they can sell you a one use pass for the 24 hour fitness nearby for $12. The view in the room was great, but the room itself was dated. No comforter on the bed, and room service only comes by after 4 days of your stay. You can request housekeeping or more towels, but we never actually tried this. The tub had jets but as others had mentioned, the nozzles were black and quite dirty. In our room the caulking at the base of the tub was not present, leaving a nice gap between the tile and the tub that looked unsettling when walking around with bare feet. The carpet was well worn and the wallpaper was peeling in several places. The a/c diffuser was placed on top of the door to the bedroom and ended up blowing directly on us as we tried to sleep, which was annoying. It was nice that the rooms have a kitchenette with utensils, mugs, etc. That actually came in handy a couple of times. We did like the fact that there was a small table in the bedroom as well as the kitchen area and a loveseat as well. Lots of room, but everything was just so old and worn down. Overall, i think the hotel could be great if they just renovated the rooms. I feel like this would have been an awesome hotel like 30 years ago.

When you arrive at the hotel it smells great in the lobby once we were given our room the room had a musty wet damp smoky smell in it the room was very outdated the jetted tube that looked like it’s been there since the hotel was built back in 1900s the Front desk person was very rude and had a very bad attitude not a good place the only thing that was good about the hotel was it had a comfortable bed but it smelled so horrible in the room we had to check out

We paid for a non-smoking room and the room we originally got smelled so badly of cigarettes that we had to ask for a different one. They did accommodate us with an upgraded room. However, the new one was on the same floor as the original room and still smelled of cigarettes, just not quite as bad. I think this is due to the fact that the building is also made up of privately owned condos, so the smoke drifts through the A/C ducting. It is a good location. Close to amenities and stores. 15-20 minutes from Waikiki. I don't feel that it's worth what we paid and we likely will not stay here again.

Stayed on the 32nd floor for a month. Building was built in 1984, so dated decor in places, but we found it to be clean and well maintained in the public spaces. Our one bedroom suite was a bit dated, but nevertheless it was very clean. Kitchen was very basic, but it had microwave, apartment sized fridge and a cooktop/oven with a few plates, pans, cups and cutlery. Staff were very friendly and quick to react (someone in one of the suites on our floor was smoking weed and the staff immediately took action).

It was a great stay, nice staff, the room and the view are really good. I just would like to be contacted to comment and confirm an information regarding some payments that of course I don't want to mention here, that's the only think I need to clarify to be 100% happy. Thank you very much!

So far, the experience has been very accommodating staff are extremely helpful. Located very well in the city, and yes, there are feral individuals outside. But every big city has the exact same experience downtown. I travel a lot been many places this is one of the best extended Stay experiences so far. Heck, it's in Hawaii. Tropical Paradise, right! Hunt the good stuff. Traffic can be less desirable.

I'm not exactly sure how this place is 4 stars. Staff was friendly and the security 24/7 are both a plus; however, thats pretty much where it ends. There were holes in my bed sheets, a vase assembled with gorilla glue in my room, dirt and dust in the corners of the room, chipped and damaged furniture, dresser with knobs missing, strong smell of weed in the hallways, blood on the wall of the elevator, etc. The elevator had some type of tarp hanging on the walls, on the back wall was a patch of blood. As another reviewer said, this place desperately needs updating. I wouldn't recommend it in its current state unless the 14th floor is the only floor with these issues.

Not worth 240 bucks per day even if it's in middle of Honolulu downtown. The room was obviously a convert from either an apartment or an office the rooms adjacent to mine where businesses within the. When was an attorney. The AC unit opened up to a dead end wall! Ask for a king size bed that got a queen size. The carpet in the hallways was old and smelled. Bobby was very awkward looking did not contain anything better than elevator. The view from the room was good and face downtown. But that's really it

I highly enjoyed my stay here. My room was like a one bedroom furnished apartment with expansive city, harbor and mountain views. The location was convenient for me since I like to stay away from tourist areas.

We were able to get an early check-in at noon, which was much appreciated since our flight came in at 10 a.m. The staff were all accommodating and friendly. Our room was actually a suite and had great views of the harbor. We would definitely stay here again.

This place is a good value for the money since I paid around $200/night. Perfectly adequate as it was clean and the staff great. Though what you should expect to get with a low price is dated rooms and the faint smell of cigarette smoke in the halls. The wifi is terribly slow and flaky. But I’d stay here again. Bear in mind that Marriotts during the same time period were $400-500 per night.

In the centre of downtown walkable or bus service $7,50/all day. Holo card for senior/medicare discount only available 2 locations to get $3/all day or $20/mo. Prices may change. Went to several free museums and capital. Food can be $$$ so be aware and check around. Beautiful scenery. Access to small beaches as well as Waikiki.

The suite itself was fabulous and was located in CBD district. However the amenities were less than acceptable. If you're a two star hotel than state it. Pool - Yellow tape cordoned off part of the pool. The hot tub was full of sand and appeared to be very cloudy. It was clearly unsafe to use, and I wouldn't want to get cellulitis from a hot tub. The bathroom was dirty and was not well maintained including not having soap in the dispenser. Washer & Dryer - I could only examine the washers, but I wouldn't pay to have my clothes laundered in the the machine. Please wipe the dirt from the lid. Staff - Upon checking in, I asked for an upgraded room, that included a washer and dryer. I read in previous reviews, which suggested to ask for your wants. I felt justified given the price I paid for the unit. I also mentioned, my unit price was also significantly higher than the current listed prices. The response," These are prices for Xmas in Hawaii". Really! When prices have been reduced by 125 to 200 plus per night! On the other hand, I did have pleasant experience when I checked out. I do believe Jennifer, assisted us with our checkout. Would I stay here again? Yes, because the suites were clean and spacious. Plus, it was in a central location. I am hopeful my review will shed some light on the things that need to be repaired. Mahalo, Gina

This building seems to be a mix of condo style hotel rooms/apartments, air bnb units, and long term residential units. The units are spacious and surprisingly quiet for being smack dab in downtown Honolulu. (Note: Downtown Honolulu is the city financial center and NOT Waikiki Beach where the majority of hotels are.) During the day, the area is busy with business people and their hustle and bustle. However, a LOT of the retail spaces are empty and there's a lot of homeless people at night. While personally, I am comfortable walking around downtown at night, its easy to see why others may feel intimidated. Not a lot to do at night besides the bars, restaurants, and Walmart. This location is good if you have business to conduct in the downtown area, but not so much for tourists. For a vacation or first-time visit with lots of activities and shopping from morning to late night, you're better off booking in Waikiki which is just a couple miles further down the road.

This is my go to hotel in Honolulu. I'm not here for the beach, so this reduces my commute by 20-30 minutes at a minimum. Mountain view rooms probably have a better view than ocean view!

Definitely recommend, right in the heart of downtown. Great location and close to everything - shops, restaurants, the beach. Staff is really friend and helpful and the rooms are spacious and well kept. Thank you for the great stay...

I loved my 1 bedroom business suite. Amazing views and rooms full of huge windows (complete with blackout curtains). Nice kitchen and living area with a desk. Friendly staff and very clean.

Very dirty and dated and nasty. Helped to rectify the issue and gave me a different room which was much better . Also discounted parking charges. They can't change the fact that there was no restaurant as its closed permanently. New room needs router rooter in the bath tub as it holds back the water . And no shampoo / condition was empty. Pool still not attractive and didn't want to use. New room was still 10x better .

We LOVED this hotel! Wish the bathtub (with jets) was more thoroughly cleaned because once I started the jets a bunch of nasty stuff was in the water. Besides that, we were so comfortable, the hotel was spacious, and we had a nice view of the city and I loved the big windows! Highly recommend, just don’t use the bathtub to take a bath haha!

The team at Aston Executive Center was amazing! They handled a situation caused by weather with the upmost professionalism. I felt welcomed and cared for from check out to check in! Thank you for a wonderful stay! Location is ideal to downtown, rooms are comfortable and clean and service is top notch!

It was in downtown honululu. Which is quaint, but the nicest downtown anywhere, I have ever been. We had a tremendous view! One side was just a harbor, but we saw boats we normally wouldn't. The other side was an awesome ocean Vista view! The hotel restaurant was very nice. It was the best food I had there! Hawaii foods use different spices.and I am not a big fisher.

I love my stay here. It is so roomy and it has a kitchen. The tub is to die for because it has jets. The bed is huge. Everything is just amazing here i wish I was staying longer than 20 days but next time I come i will be staying here!
