ants and spiders all over the counters and walls in the kitchenette, bathroom and bedside table. Some crawled on our beds. To make matters worse. We got home, 1000+ miles away and they were in our bags. disgusting will never book here again. Overall bad experience.

I decided to change the hotel today. Surprisingly, the reason was that a hotel reservation suddenly came in and I couldn't extend my stay anymore. The hotel I stayed at regularly contacted me the day before. His employees prioritized corporate reservations over those staying at the hotel, and if I didn't go out, I could call the police in a strong tone and was treated as a criminal. When I heard this story from an employee, I was very surprised to talk to the manager. And the manager said, "You said you broke the hotel policy." This manager tells lies. I have never done such a thing. And he told me, "Corporate reservations are also incorrect information, and regular reservations are full." I told the manager that the manager's behavior was the worst. I knew I would add a reservation, but I asked why I had to leave for a relative reservation for a company. At that time, the store manager kept yelling, "Go somewhere in the worst hotel," and didn't want to deal with it. This manager has not been fully recognized as a guest since I stayed and I was treated like her employee. The manager ordered me many times with a very strong tone. As my stay prolonged, her attitude escalated. The company then sends me text emails, cheap coupons, and attached URLs to take me to expensive sites and make reservations. Prices fluctuate over $ 30. In addition, third-party discount booking companies offer low prices, offer other incomprehensible costs such as resort fees and amenity fees, and hide them in taxes or pay locally. The tax is a hotel tax, the consumption tax is doubled, and the city tax is difficult to understand. It can only be said to be a fraud. When I report this to the company's complaints department, it is "normal." "I don't know how much the hotel price will fluctuate at that time." In short, the hotel can charge a discriminatory high. We also work with Google to access personal information and manage prices. Access the app and pay a high usage fee. By accessing such personal information without hesitation, we have adopted a system that guides you to pay a high fee. Corporate crime clerk does not deal with this at all. This fraudulent hotel, and the worst hotels in the area, are willing to charge $ 340 per day. It's really sad that such a company works with such a manager. $ 50 a day is enough for this hotel. Corridors and elevators always smell like dog pee, as the walls of the corridors are bumpy due to leaks and not properly cleaned. I told him to clean it many times, but he didn't do anything. And take the damage fee firmly. Where did the hotel hospitality disappear?

Location is good. Not on the beach but very close. This place is definitely not a 5/5 or 10/10 etc. It's an old building in gross need of renovation (group ownership clearly cares very little about the property). The room photos on the website are completely misleading (as is often the case) but to a point that it looks like a completely different place. There are bugs, including roaches. The shower is broken. Overall pretty gross to be honest at the price point.

If I could give them 0 stars I would The room was musty and gross. It had two twin beds, no kitchenette and I could hear the children in the next room like they were in my own. I went back downstairs to ask for a room with one larger bed. I was told I had to pay an upgrade fee of $50 to get a bigger bed. I agreed and ask to see the room first. Waited for someone to come down to “show me the room” turns out it was just another room with 2 twin beds. I gave up. I have incredibly low standards. I chose to spend weeks at time in the woods and I lived in a Chevy for two years. I mean, unbelievably low, and this place stumbled over that ant hill as if it was an Olympic hurdle.

Wouldn’t stay here again. Wife and I booked here knowing it was on the cheaper side, especially since all we needed was a room to sleep in for the night. We were on island for a day event so we checked in closer to midnight and the staff was great and the lobby was actually decent. Unfortunately our room was the problem. Very musty and as soon as I turned on the ac it seem to get worst. We actually slept with a mask on for the night because of allergies. On top of that we killed up to a dozen little roaches. We would have tried to get a new room but it was late and we were exhausted, so we dealt with it knowing we be in this room for only a couple of hours since we were checking out early in the morning to catch our flight. I’d like to think the other rooms were better but I wouldn’t know.

We booked a double room and we're given two single beds. Was difficult to get this problem sorted and we ended up with two 3/4 sized beds. Not very helpful staff. Rooms were OK if you're not planning to spend a lot of time in them. Hotel is tired and old, but it has everything you need. Location is good if you want to be close to waikiki and some really good food trucks just outside the hotel which are delicious!

We booked a room here knowing it was a budget hotel, but Ewa was missing a few key things that all hotels should provide. The front desk employees were kind, but parking was expensive and super limited. We ended up doing the free parking far from the hotel to avoid the $50 parking right outside the entrance. One of our toilets didn’t work, they don’t have extra toiletries like some hotels provide, water leaked from the bathroom ceiling when the room above us was showering, and we didn’t get room cleaning service once so our trash cans filled up quickly and we didn’t get help with the toilet and maintenance issues.

I've stayed there plenty times and I have never had a negative experience with the staff. So other than the Ice machine being broken for way too long...I like it because me and my guests feel ok being there. Other places in the area, we base our coming and going attention towards how easy it is to break in or sneak past security. Anyway, no need to stress at the Ewe hotel. It is reasonably priced and clean enough.

Aloha, Not a bad place to kick off your sandals. Just about a block and half away from a sandy cove and the nearest ABC store. The rooms are spacious. The bathroom is a little small. Some rooms come with a little two burner stove top with a descent lil refrigerator. Our balcony over looked Cartwright Rd. and other hotels. The staff at EWA (EVA - pronounced in Hawaiian) hotel were really nice and would help you out in any way. If you rent a vehicle, you can park the vehicle in the garage for $30 dollars a night. Be sure to get there early to get a space. The hotel also rents spaces to other tourists as well. Only one elevator in the bldg. and its slow and small. A mask policy is asked that you wear during your time at the hotel, coming and going. You will enjoy your time here at EWA hotel, walking distance to the beach, stores and other locations local. Have a great time, Alahoa.

Terrible customer service. Nonresponsive front desk, walls made of paper. I travel for work and checked in last night close to midnight. At 5am next door neighbors decided to have a party with music and I could hear every conversation and laughter as if it was right next to my bed. For 30 minutes I have been trying to reach the front desk with no luck. Then only after calling their calling center they were able to get someone on the phone from the actual hotel. Did I mention that front desk guy started to get defensive that he has been there this whole time and didn't hear any calls and was arguing with me. Its almost 6am right now, I'm in bed having slept just 5 hours and have to start work soon. And I won't even begin to describe how nasty the room conditions are. If you planning on staying at this place to get some rest and have at least some sleep in a relatively clean place - look somewhere else.

Do not stay at this hotel under any circumstances or for any reason. It would literally be better to sleep in your car. I am not exaggerating when I say that the moment I walked in the door to our room, I nearly burst into tears. The sheets are stained and yellowed, all the popcorn ceilings and old-fashioned lighting make you feel like you’re in the 1980s, and on top of that you can hear through the paper thin walls other guests, as well as the disgusting smelly hallways where people constantly slam their doors. We could not wait to get out of there, however the hotel did not even refund us, even though we only used one night out of the three that we booked.

The staff was helpful but the walls are not sound proof. I had an issue with another guest that was playing the TV to loud. The staff did take action and resolved. The location is good and they charge $30 per night for parking which is limited. They also charge a fee for amenities do be ready to be nickel and dimed. The hotel was ok and the cheaper option in this area.

This hotel scams people. I’ve read other reviews about people being charged twice or extra money for made up things. My sister was charged twice and wasn’t offered many solutions or comps to remedy the hotels error other than “you’ll see your refund in 3 business days.” My suggestion to everyone is to contact the FRAUD DEPARTMENT of your bank or credit card company and report this hotel of any extra or second charges to speed up the refund process. No one should pay twice for a hotel room. If this hotel, EWA Hotel Waikiki, has messed with your money I also suggest filing with The Federal Trade Commission. The FTC will handle fraudulent/scamming activity by businesses like this hotel. They won’t change their behavior because they’re not being reported. Please stay somewhere else until they have better policies, better training, and better customer service.

My family and I love this place. We used to stay at Ashton Beach Hotel. It was more than twice as expensive. The crowd is not stuck up here. The place is older. It does hace coachroaches and doesn't have maud service everyday. We love having the kitchenette and the refrigerator is bigger than over at Ashton. All these years we were wasting our money at Ashton. They have parking for $30 on the 1st floor. It is limited and but you are guaranteed a parking. We love the convenience of parking and feel more comfortable coming and going. We have been here for 3 days and we have 6 days to go. We like this hotel so much that we have stayed in our room so much more than Ashton Beach Waikiki. Will definitely rent here again. You can take a look at my review at Ashton on my profile.

I was worried from seeing the other Google reviews, but I paid through Expedia and check-in was fast and smooth. No issues with prepayment or deposit. However, there were some big downsides: I was "upgraded" to a family room with 4 single beds, as a single traveller. The booking was for a "Moderate" room with 1 Queen requested. The room, while clean with working A/C, had very old carpets and smelt reallllly badly of cigarette smoke. Had I been staying here longer than one night, I would have asked to switch to a different room. Because of its low price point, it also attracts a more challenging clientelle.

For affordable accommodation, close to the beach and just basic amenities (the pool is the conveniently close beach), this place is perfect. It's on the Diamond Head side of Waikiki and while Cartwright road has it's own... unique and sometimes rowdy sounds, you can also hear the animals in the zoo around feeding time (request lanai rooms for that). The staff is absolutely amazing, extremely welcoming and kind. Check out is at a lovely 12pm, there are laundry machines in hotel (very helpful after a beach day). There are stores, restaurants , food trucks and all the fun sites/ ppl watching right around the block. Have to mention the reasonable prices again given the location. Not a resort, not a hostel.

Very bad communication. They are still holding my $200 deposit when they advised it was going to be returned 6 days after checking out. I have messaged them multiple times without luck. It’s been 3 weeks since I should have received my deposit and nothing. Very unprofessional, do not stay there. very bad value for money.

Pros: -Close to beach -Cheap -Nice staff Cons: -The hallways and rooms are seedy. -The bathroom was disgusting and I have no idea what the “kitchenette” is supposed to be. See the pics of the bathroom and such. Buyer beware.

Stay away from Marinol the front desk rep She will charge double deposit and break down every charge separately to ensure there's a way to scam you. The other employees are actually respectful but she is the manager. Roaches, Mold, dirty sheets and towels. If you ask for new ones they wait at least 3 hours to provide them hoping you forget. My advice go across the alley and pay $50 more and save yourself the headache.

The wet mop smell or garbage disposal last forever though. Enough room for 6 of us since we booked a two bedroom suite. The price wasn't bad at all for 5 days and 4 nights during peak season.

My husband and I went to check into this hotel and was informed it would be another 295 on top of the 295 we already paid another 200 deposit and 17.25 a night. We didn’t even stay here and now I’m fighting with them to get a refund back. I want my money back as I didn’t stay there.

Decent price for a decent hotel. Not great but it was fine for the price. Clean room, nice staff, good location. Make sure you understand the fees, but even with the fees it was a good price compared to others in the area. I would stay here again.

Booked in advance for 6 days - got there and not only was it filthy but they also gave us the wrong room - and stated all the other rooms were booked so we had no choice but to stay in the smaller room - it was more like a cheap motel - the water was brown - the ice machine and vending machine were in the parking lot alongside roaches - the microwave was dirty - everything was dusty - we checked in at midnight when we landed and checked out at 6am the same day - after 5million calls we finally received a refund and they charged us for half a night instead - I would not recommend unless you don't mind motels in Hawaii on a side street kinda looked like an alley - I'll try to post pics as well- we had to take them for the refund claim - I'd suggest the ala moana instead we loved it there

You have to be kidding when you post the photos of the rooms and try to convince people this hotel is clean. The hotel and rooms do not look like any of the pictures at all. This place is quite disgusting. They don’t clean the ceilings, nor sheets, nor pillowcases or walls where I have found dirt and residue and god forbid what else. I am sitting here in this disgusting bed writing this review because I cannot believe you guys think this is acceptable for your customers. I’ll be shocked if I don’t come out of this hotel with a disease.

booked two rooms, the ada room was not available as another guest extended their stay. rooms are clean with 2 burner range top, microwave, and mini fridge. basic kichenware for two people is supplied like spoons, forks, cups, plates. cookware consist of two skillets. very friendly and helpful front desk. basic room and bathroon. a good place for a frugal traveler who is looking for a good location and does not mind an older building and dated decor.

The staff at EWA hotel continuously went above and beyond for our comfort. We stayed at this hotel twice, for a total of 3 nights. The location is amazing, right near the beach and surrounded by dining options. Will stay there again when I return to Honolulu.

The location was awesome, only a block and a half to beaches ⛱️ 😀. Close enough that we walked to all of Waikiki's shopping districts and nightlife. This is an older hotel, but clean with balconies and a rooftop seating area. Very friendly staff an responded to request quickly. Front desk staff was spot on!

Friendly staff and nice room. Good price for the area too. Room little dated but only was in it for rest.

  • 3/5 Jeff P. 6 months ago on Google
The location is fantastic as it is very close to the Waikiki Beach. This is overshadowed by limited parking, outdated rooms and questionable cleanliness. The place basically looked like it was not maintained for the last 5-7 years and was falling apart. There are also hidden daily fees around US$18 for decent wifi, in-room coffee (unused), daily paper (not supplied), etc. It was $100a night cheaper for my son and his bride to stay 1 block away in an AIrBNB suite at the fancy, updated and very clean Waikiki Banyan.

  • 2/5 Christian S. 1 year ago on Google
So the staff was fine, the location is great but the room was beyond rough. As other reviewers have said, the property is old, and it shows. Our room had a bit of a smell and the shower leaked. Here's the thing though, any place on that beach is going to run you $$$$, if you are ok with a sub par room then everything else with this hotel is absolutely fine. The location is great.

  • 2/5 Nicola B. 1 year ago on Google
Staff was friendly all the time, but I would not book again. It's rundown and not very pleasant to stay in. It's OK for a few nights but only if you plan your day outside. My window was broken after I came to the room, I informed the staff but nothing happened.

  • 3/5 Debbie C. 1 year ago on Google
Location is the reason. Beach hotel. Basics covered. The desk guy was personable and helpful. Basic clean but bring slippers your feet will be black. Kitchenette functions with 1 pan only. No power outlet near bed or table. Used the bathroom outlet for coffee.

  • 5/5 Briana G. 1 year ago on Google
Overall we loved our stay here. The staff was friendly welcoming and helpful. The location is absolutely perfect. We usually book our rooms on the location as usually we aren't here to see the hotel but just sleep shower and maybe eat there. The rooms aren't super modern and fancy but they are clean. And come with a small kitchenette. The rooftop view was beautiful and perfect for evening and morning to relax drink a cup a coffee. And the girl that was working the front desk part of my stay truly made my stay a little better. She deserves some praise. Hopefully I'll see y'all again soon when we come back. Thank you! ☺️🌊🌺

This is my experience. Room is clean, not a brand new hotel. If you are only looking for a decent place to stay, no problem. Very close to the beach, almost at the end of Waikiki, close to Diamond head. I stayed 4 nights, was told that I had to request if I wanted the room to be cleaned. I put the request, there was another person at the counter, she said there was no cleaning service. I was not rude but I stood my ground and ended up loosing. I got to my room, there is a call and the lady said the room was going to be cleaned. Overall if you do not want to spend a lot on hotels, this is a good place to stay.

This hotel was really clean! The staff are friendly and the rooms are clean and comfortable! They do weekly cleaning of the rooms as well! Staff and hotel 10 out of 10 I highly recommend! They made my stay in Hawaii great!

Great economical accommodations 1 block from beach, restaurants, coffee shops, and zoo. Clean place to sleep and shower. If you are looking for a fancy resort, this is not the hotel for you. If you are looking to book accommodations for a few nights on a budget, this may be your place. Limited parking on-site, but, easy to access.

Clean rooms and bathroom with a good amount of space. Kitchenette is useful but no dish towel or cutting board. Bathroom really nice with gifts to use. Staff were helpful but when you book through a third party they are very difficult as well as an expensive deposit. Handy location though

it was the cheapest hotel i could find. i didn’t have high expectations you know, this is hawaii. but i love that sort of motel vibe anyway. i would stay in there forever if i could. so if you’re okay with that then it’s really not that bad. the staff were so kind to me which is always great. they apparently upgraded my room so i’m very grateful for that. i had a bathtub and a nice big bed. the tv remote i had a problem w for a second. everything is a bit outdated but when you’re looking for a place to stay and don’t have that much on you it’s all fine and you make it work. the front desk is quick to respond and helped me out right away. they are good people.

My daughter had a tremendously bad experience with her first hotel, due to terrible customer service. I booked this one for her for her last few days on the island & regret not doing it sooner. Marites, her check-in person was so hospitable, sweet & accommodating. This place should be EVERYONE'S first choice. 2 blocks walk from the beach too? You CAN'T beat this place! I'll be booking again in the future.
