Our recent stay at the Waikiki Resort hotel was disappointing. My friend and I booked this trip 8 months in advance and booked the studio room with two queen beds. When we arrived and checked in, we were informed the studio/two queen beds were unavailable due to a large family who booked those rooms. The front desk clerk was apologetic and said he'd upgrade our room to a king room with one bed and a mountain view. The only good thing about this hotel was how close it was to the beach. Though our view was upgraded, our sleeping arrangements were degraded. I slept on the sofa sleeper which triggered my sciatica because the bar was pressing against my back. I also suffered from vertigo and needed to sleep comfortably and that was not possible. My friend and I would have shared a bed but I was up sick throughout the night(s) because of the vertigo and I didn't want to interrupt her sleeping. I spoke to the manager to see if we could switch rooms and get two beds and they were unable to accommodate us. For 7 nights, I slept on a thin, sofa bed with a metal bar pressing against my back. I've been seeing a chiropractor since to try and help with my sciatica and back pain which was triggered by the sofa sleeper. I emailed the manager and he could only offer me a future discount rate for their hotel. Sadly, I won't be able to accept that offer since this was a once in a lifetime trip and I'm unable to see when I'd be able to get the time off from work. Our dream vacation turned into a nightmare because of this hotel. My advice is to call and confirm the room you booked is available before you go so you don't have the same experience I had.

Stayed here for two weeks and loved every second of it. Was pretty high up with a great view from the balcony. Room is spacious. Cleaning service was great. As I went hiking most days I was happy to use their convenient parking and water fill up station. Breakfast was okay for being included in the price but nothing special. Staff was always helpful. And the best thing was the location in the heart of Waikiki - you can walk to all the restaurants, stores and of course the amazing Waikiki beach.

The hotel has horrible customer service. All of the employees I encountered were rude. Rooms are small. The only good thing about this place was the location. one block from the Beach. You have to pay for parking per day. Simple breakfast is included. Free water station. $5.25 for one load of laundry (located in the parking garage).

Absolutely loved a week long stay at Waikiki Resort hotel. The rooms are spacious, comes with a coffee machine, mini fridge and is cleaned daily. Just the bathroom could be bigger. The hotel offers water refill station which was very convenient. It has a laundry room, provides beach towels for day use. It also has a spa, a small mart attached and a car rental booth, everything one would need for a comfortable vacation. The hotel offers breakfast for free even if the booking doesn't show it. It also has a restaurant Ilima that has special rates for hotel guests. $6/$8 is a great price and the food was delicious. The parking is $35 a day but it's the same as every other hotel in the area. The location is the best part, literally 2mins walk from the beach. We enjoyed our stay here and would definitely come back if we ever visit Oahu again.

I really liked the hotel. I liked the location, atmosphere, and cleanliness the most. The pool was refreshing. The breakfast was tasty. The housekeeping staff was friendly and very efficient. The beds were plush, but small. I didn't hear any noise from other guests. I gave 4 stars instead of 5 because the fridge didn't work, the air from the A/C sometimes didn't feel "conditioned", lack of microwave, and strange system of going down to the basement for pool towels. I would like to stay here again. Wish we could've tried the dinner restaurant, Seoul Jung. I bet it would've been good!

The staff was excellent! Very friendly and helpful. The rooms were okay, bed was comfortable. In-room coffee was awful. Would be nice if they changed out the coffee makers with ones that used k-pods. Hotel was close to the beach and other amenities. The convenience store in the lobby lived up to its name. Kai Coffee Hawaii was an excellent way to start the day.

The hotel location is amazing, one block from the beach, we would come back to the hotel to use the washroom instead of using the public ones! The best part about this hotel is the elevator. This may seem silly but if you have even been to a hotel with a slow elevator then you get it. We were on the 18th floor and never had to wait for an elevator. The breakfast is good, staff were always pleasant. Spa was interesting. Felt like an afterthought in the building. We tried to book in person but they did not know the availability so we booked online but when we showed up were told we had to come back in an hour. Also did not get the service we booked for. Still a decent massage just a little confusing. Would absolutely stay here again!!

We booked this 10 months ago, our room was upgraded as our original wasn't ready. We looked out over the Major Princes pool and lounge area, voices carry and the music was very loud. I know, middle of the resort district, one should expect it. Our view of the ocean was between the high rises. This resort feels older, beds were not very comfortable. Easy walking to the beach and shops. We won't stay here again.

This hotel is the best. Great location. It’s not just clean, its Korean clean: if u know what I mean… Everyone at the front desk and the bell desk is so nice and kind. Definately a five star service. I always enjoyed staying here. This hotel and the crew here deserves a gold medal!

The rooms are average as far as the area. I have been to Hawaii many times and it seems that most aren’t up to date even at the price we pay. It’s convenient to get to shopping, beaches and restaurants. Plenty to do nearby. The breakfast that’s included was the absolute worse I have had at any hotel. If you like over cooked boiled eggs, fruit and toast then this may be the spot for you! But it was disappointing to say the least. The staff is very friendly and accommodating and it’s nice to have a laundry area to wash your clothes for the long stay.

Overall, Waikiki Resort Hotel is a good value for the price. It is located in a convenient location, a block away from Waikiki beach. the staff is friendly, and while it is not the most luxurious hotel in the area, the rooms are clean and functional with basic amenities such as a television and mini-fridge in an interesting location. However, they could use some updating and modernization. One thing to mention is that housekeeping never changed bedsheets during my stay. Also, there was no microwave in the room. You have to go to the second floor near vending machines if you want to use the microwave.

Excellent hotel that is very close to the beach! The room was clean and large and the included breakfast had fresh local fruit every day. Everything you need is nearby and the staff make an effort to get to know you. We booked our room with the help of Derek and I have to say that has been the best hotel booking experience in my life! We are very happy and will be back for another visit soon! Aloha :)

The staff (front desk, bell-hop, housekeeper) we're always helpful and welcoming during our one week stay. Rooms were always kept clean and the housekeeper was a joy to talk to. The building might appear to be dated, but the views and location totally make up for it. The beach is just a short walk away, Would definitely stay here again. The restaurant inside the hotel offers delicious french toast.

Family friendly Hotel at the heart of Waikiki, just few minutes walk to the beach and to restaurants. Staff were friendly, courteous and very helpful. Though the rooms looked old, the comfy bed, lovely partial view of the ocean and quiet street made up for it, the rooms and washrooms were a tad small but who is going to stay all day in the room when you have a lovely beach around. Beach towels were provided, underground secured parking (though at extra cost, it was worth it) was helpful, EZ mart in the hotel for your quick shopping. Breakfast spread was standard, the staff at the breakfast room were on their toes refilling everything and clearing out tables, amazing service. Definitely will stay again and Highly recommended.

Great location, less than a minute walk to the beach. Friendly staff. Leo at the bell desk make sure our bags were taken care of as we arrived prior to check-in time. Breakfast was a nice touch. Easy for tour bus to pick up and drop off. Great wifi coverage.

Loved our stay here! Yes the rooms are a little dated but it didn’t bother us. Big room with very comfy bed. The only downside was the traffic noise. There is no soundproofing in the windows and i woke up every night from the garbage disposal truck. Great location, very close to Waikiki beach.

Pros: Great location, close to beach, friendly staff, free breakfast if you reserve through them, and available parking for guests only. Cons: AC didn't blow very cold, bathtub was very small (even smaller than a basic tub), Water in our room didn't come out hot only lukewarm. Even with the cons our stay was amazing and didn't let the little things bother us. Thank you

If you're going to stay somewhere in Waikiki Hawaii this resort was awesome! We ran into some booking trouble and some other issues a few days later but the staff was very helpful in working with us on all the difficulties we had. The continental breakfast was good we were served fruit, cereal, boiled eggs, coffee or juice or both, toast, pastries, and the option of a waffle. The continental breakfast was served in a buffet style in a little restaurant above the main lobby. They gave us cards to rent DVDs during our stay from a movie rental box they had in the lobby, we were able to rent towels for going down to the beach daily. The gift shop came in handy several times and we were able to purchase water shoes, snacks, and drinks. They gift shop had so much more but we shopped other places. Overall a great experience and friendly staff!

The rooms are comfortable even if a little dated. The a/c in our room did not cut it but my father-in-laws room a/c was stellar. Location is a bit off the main drag but still good. Ocean view, but obstructed. Service and house cleaning is great. Continental breakfast is free but limited. If you like fruit, you are in luck. Fresh fruit every morning.

It’s like walking into the late 60’s it has not been updated on stitch. Ugh. They have wonderful people working there and that is what I can say is going for them. The location is not great. The rooms so loud. Close to the beach but not a great beach. You get what you pay for and sometimes a little less.

Lobby looks really great. The rooms are a huge step down though. It has some nice amenities overall but some rooms don’t even have a microwave and definitely look like something you would see at a 2 star hotel.

We stayed at the Waikiki Resort Hotel and it was excellent. The staff was so friendly and professional. Our cleaning lady named Susan always greeted us with a smile and cleaned our room excellently. I highly recommend this hotel for it’s great staff and close proximity to the beach. Thank you Sara from Toronto

I absolutely loved staying here, and I will be back. The room was basic but comfortable, with everything I needed. The partial ocean view was a pleasant surprise, way better than I expected. I loved hanging out on the balcony, especially in the sunsets. I enjoyed the convenient location, and felt it was an excellent value for the price, especially the decent free continental breakfast. I love this end of Waikiki. It's more lively.

I expected for for "RESORT" . the rooms were small no microwave to heat food. Checked in very late because plane landed late and lady at desk was quick to say quarantine. I think staff should be trained more extensively on using QR code and "clear"

The staff were very friendly and helpful. The rooms were basic but had everything we needed, comfortable, clean, had great air conditioning and the location was excellent. Most things were within walking distance including the zoo and aquarium. For things not in walking distance the bus stop was just around the corner. I would absolutely stay here again!

WOW, shocked by the level of service at this hotel! 5 star service, 3 star price! our go to rental car place is located inside this hotel.... decided to give hotel a try when we came back to Oahu. very happy we did! walked in to a great bar in there lobby, Surfer the bar, stumbled out(haha) great drinks, good vibes. Waikiki resort hotel is a hidden gem in Waikiki just steps away from the beach. if your looking for the best deal on a hotel in Waikiki steps from the beach, and in the middle of the action, highly recommend!

Nice hotel, good rooms, and great location, a pretty good deal for Waikīkī. Unfortunately, the ‘included breakfast’ is a scam - you get a to-go baggie, and the real breakfast costs extra. This has become a common behavior in hotels, but that doesn’t make it acceptable. The personnel seemed disinterested and treated us more like a disturbance. Guess they know all visitors are one-time guests, so why bother.

The location is prime, it’s proximity to Waikiki bay and array of stores/restaurants. The building and rooms are super old. I personally would pay more for updated hotel. It did have a vintage feel to it with the odor attached. With the resort fees and parking fees. The total would be similar. Again, everybody have their own cup of tea.

Front desk staff(Branden? Not sure if his name is correct) was very helpful and friendly. Great location. It was easy to walk to the beach, shops and restaurants. A room was spacious and clean. A rental car company is located at the lobby. Overall good values for the money and it was a comfortable stay.

Older hotel, but great quality for what you’re paying. The location is GREAT, and the beach is such a short walk. There’s easy places to go get great food and you can easily walk the strip from there. Also the city view from the rooms is nothing short of amazing. The staff is also super nice and accommodating. 10/10 would stay again.

I really enjoyed my stay here. The grab and go breakfast isn't anything special, but it's convenient and better than your typical continental setups. The free DVD rentals is a nice feature of you just want to chill out in your room after a long day. My favorite feature is definitely the open lobby. Every morning when you go down stairs and step out of the elevator into the Hawaiian air is beautiful.

Nice staff & room. Older hotel but great location. Free breakfast or pay dining. No lunch or dinner options. Conciere was friendly & helpful. Good rate.

We really enjoyed our stay here! Not a fancy hotel but super welcoming and it’s located in the center of Waikiki and 2 mins from Waikiki beach. The free grab & go breakfast was nothing fancy but really convenient and delicious with a pastry, juice/coffee, yogurt, snack, and fruit. The room was very clean and comfortable. It also came with a balcony! Air conditioning worked great and the shower water was hot. The hotel staff cleaned our room and changed towels daily. Highly recommend to people looking for an affordable but convenient and comfortable stay in Oahu!

I suggest any floor above 16. Great location budget friendly. The 2go breakfast was well did, it's enough to start the morning. The staff was so Friendly. There is a shuttle for $15 to get to the airport if you don't want to take the bus.

Good service. Was very good, rooms clean. In spite of Covid, breakfast in room was varied and complete. We rented a car and had a good experience. Very close to Waikiki Beach!
