Absolutely loved this hotel! Everyone at the front desk was so nice and helpful and gave great suggestions for the area. It’s about 15-20 minutes from the airport, and just across the street from the beach. We ended up trying all of the food spots at the hotel (Maui Brewing co for lunch, and Hawaiian Aroma Cafe for breakfast) as well as The Gallery downstairs (the same menu as the Aroma Cafe) and all were delicious. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and had good AC (lowest temp was 65F but no complaints). There was a mini fridge in the room but no microwave which would have been nice. There is a laundry room on the parking level to use, but it’s limited and most of the machines only take quarters so it was a bit of a hassle. We only used it once though so it wasn’t a big deal. The gift shop seemed to have odd hours (maybe they were short staffed?) and closes at 7pm. Which it would have been open later, but there are a ton of ABC (convenience) stores everywhere on the main road open much later that are cheaper anyway. Overall I loved the location, the staff, and the environment. All of the guests we spoke to as well were also having a great time. I would 100% stay here again in the future

Very good stay at the Beachcomber. It’s in a great location and the pool area is nice too. We had a good check in with Kristina who was really friendly and accommodating. She was able to provide us with an early check in which was really appreciated after a long flight. The rooms are well appointed and are decorated in clean fresh colours and modern furnishings. We had a great view from our room so enjoyed having some pre-dinner drinks on our balcony. We enjoyed our stay and would recommend.

Great place, rooms, service, and location. The conjoined brewery and coffee shop were not only delicious and lovely on their own accord, but they were so convenient. The towels and available (reef safe) sun screen at the pool were so nice to have easily accessible. The proximity to the beach, restaurants, convenience stores, etc was wonderful. I was there for a week and I didn't need to rent a car because so much was within walking distance. I loved my stay.

We purchased a package deal from Luxury Escapes. The deal and photos made it seem amazing. The breakfast was very ordinary..waffles with waffles. The complimentary cocktail per day was limited to a short list...and I think.they forgot the alcohol. It tasted like soft drink. I have purchased many packages from Luxury Escapes and been thrilled. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. The staff are friendly but the hotel and its inclusions are sorely lacking. I am still here and thinking of going to another hotel. Disappointed. I will be contacting Luxury Escapes and letting them know. I am one of their platinum members and will let them know that it is cheap and nasty.

This is a very inexpensive place to stay close to the beach! It’s newly renovated and attached to a Maui brewing company which is awesome! Has a fridge in each room and a balcony but not a ton of space in the room. Bathrooms are nice and the staff is so friendly and helpful!! The pool and hot tub are a little small but the cafe by the pool is so fun! Serves drinks in pineapples and waffles!! The gym is tiny with free weights and a few machines. If you work out while on vacation this is not a good option. No towels, and the gym was really dirty. There were kids working out barefoot blasting music and if there’s more than 2 people working out it’s cramped.

The staff there is absolutely amazing. I really enjoyed my stay. They deserve 5-stars! This is the best 3-star hotel i've stayed in, ever. My first night I was worried about the cleanliness of my room and they took care it immediately, without hesitation, and with the happiest and best customer service ever. I will surely stay here again. Also the Maui Brewing company and poolside cafe is fantastic as well. Couldn't ask for more right in the heart of Waikiki!

Honestly, this was by far one of the best hotel experiences we’ve had! Location is right on the strip, beach was literally less then 5 min walk. Lots of restaurants and clothing stores within minutes of walking. The receptionists at the front desk were beyond amazing, especially Mike! We are so grateful he was there the first night we arrived, as we had a bad experience with our airline delaying our luggage. Mike made sure we were all good and had all the necessities we needed. He also suggested some great places to visit on the island. There is a coffee shop and the Maui Brewing Co restaurant conveniently located in the hotel. The bell men and valet guys downstairs were also so helpful, friendly and fast. They will also allow you to leave your luggage locked up if you have a late flight plus early check out. The hotel also provided us with a complimentary room for our last day, so that we can shower and freshen up as we had already checked out but wanted to go to the beach. The noise from the music downstairs (which only lasted maybe until 11pm) wasn’t ever an issue and did not bother us at all. Our room was very clean, we had the maid come once and she did a great job. Overall I definitely recommend booking this hotel if you wanted to stay in Waikiki! Amazing!!

We just got back from our week at the Outrigger Waikiki Beachcomber and we were so happy with our stay! The location is perfect for those who are visiting the island for the first time. It is right along the main strip with access to everything. Most importantly, the hotel was super clean and the staff were incredible. The hotel may not have beachfront views but we still had a beautiful view of the ocean from our "waikiki view room". Definitely loved waking up to it! One thing we really appreciated was how the staff treated guests that already checked out. We had a very late flight the day we checked out of the hotel. The hotel offered a "hospitality room" which allowed us to use one of their rooms for 30 minutes to freshen up. It's usually first come, first serve and it was in use when we got back from our last full day of exploring. One of the staff members gladly made another hospitality room for us. This made a huge difference because we felt so much better prior to our long flight back home. We would happily stay here again. :)

Amenities were perfect. Awesome location a block from the beach and surrounded by all the shops. Every person we interacted with was so nice and offered great tips. Special shout out to the parking attendants - they always made sure we were taken care of and were satisfied with our stay. Highly recommend to everyone to stay at this hotel!

We had an amazing experience at Waikiki Beachcomber by Outrigger and I would highly recommend staying here. The location was perfect, the prices were affordable, and the hotel was very clean. They also conveniently had everything you need located in the hotel including shops, restaurants, and valet parking. The staff was also top notch - some of the most friendly and helpful people I have ever met! Vicky, Clarita, Kristine, Ashley, Joy, Florencia, and Daniel made sure that we were taken care of and that we had the best stay in Waikiki. Because of their high quality level of service, we will definitely be back!

We really, really enjoyed our stay here. First off, the housekeeping does an EXCELLENT job. The check in process was positive, our room was moved to a higher floor with a balcony and a bit of an ocean view, and the room itself is very modern. the location is five star and the Hawaiian aroma cafe is great for morning coffee . The only negative for me was having to reserve an hour ahead of time to use the pool. That was unappealing to us so we decided not to use it. The aroma cafe has live music at night and we did sit on the pool loungers one night listening. It was a very talented group! I would definitely stay here again. Great value for the nightly rate.

Set up through Priceline when I arrived there was additional few hundred dollars with of fees/costs. We stayed for a week. The hotel room I thought faces toward the water when I ordered but we got a terrible view of a roof top. The shower was clean and room were nice. There was no ventilation in the bathroom and that’s kinda gross. The bed to hard and pillows were to full and causes neck pain. The location was prime and yes I would stay here again. It was clean!

We stayed here for our honeymoon! We thought the room was clean, modern, and close to the beach. Great staff but was a little loud at night (usually went away around 10). We recommend the bed and breakfast package because the food was great. Maui brewing Co is also very convenient and has good food and live music.

I recently stayed here for five nights while on vacation and it was an incredible stay! The rooms were clean and spacious. It was quiet. It was centrally located to shopping, restaurants and the beach. While we had an "ocean view" room, some other hotels obscured that view some, but it was still possible to have coffee on the balcony in the morning and watch the morning surfers. While I can't remember who checked us in, Kristina checked us out and made sure our stay was amazing. Kyle (I think is his name), in valet, was incredibly nice and helpful with recommendations. Each employee we came in contact with just added to the pleasantness of our stay. 10/10 would stay again!

The location of this property is absolutely fantastic. Very walkable, steps to the beach, and in the heart of everything for Waikiki. While the decor is lovely, it is apparent this is an older hotel that was renovated. The rooms and bathrooms are small, lighting is lacking, and the elevators are slow. Yet, we really enjoyed the beach view, the cafe downstairs, and the modern vibe overall. If you are interested in pool time go early or you won’t find a spot since it’s quite a small area.

I loved this hotel! It was really clean and we couldn't hear any noise from inside the hotel. Michael checked us in and he, as well as every employee we came in contact with, was super nice and helpful. Our air conditioner wouldn't come back on. We called maintenance, and they got there and had it repaired within fifteen minutes. The beach was within easy walking distance. So much shopping surrounds the hotel. Book this hotel ... you won't be sorry!

We came to Hawaii on our honeymoon & this hotel was probably the greatest existed... Karina at the front desk was so very helpful during check in/check out! Very friendly staff overall! They made sure we were very well taken care of, constantly asking how our stay was, if we needed anything. I would DEF recommend to family/friends that travel to hawaii to stay here. It is also so convenient! So close by to everything, the beach, stores, bars, dinner/lunch spots.!

We really enjoyed our visit to the Beachcomber. The location can't be beat, walking distance to tons of shopping, restaurants and right across from the beach. The staff was very nice and polite. The rooms has adequate space and we're very well kept and clean. I met the maid service in the hall and the woman was really sweet and welcoming. Definitely recommend and I would certainly return!

Daniel made this a 5 star stay. My first room did not have the view that I was hoping for. He was gracious enough to allow me to switch rooms right away. The new room had a phenomenal view. The location is conveniently adjacent to a mall and directly across the street from the Waikiki Beach. My only criticism was the cleanliness of the room. The base of the toilet was soiled and the room carpet was so dirty I cringed to walk barefoot. But other than that, I loved it.

One of the best hotels I have ever stayed in. Absolutely beautiful, clean, with friendly and professional service. The beds were comfortable, the two restaurants on site were good (we preferred Maui’s brewing company—if we had to choose—both were good). There was a onsite pool area that was beautiful with comfortable seating, and everyone was so accommodating. James the concierge was incredibly helpful, friendly, and I am so happy we got a chance to work with him! This hotel was also in a great location—Walking distance to the beach, right next to the international market place, and close to both the zoo and aquarium. Definitely consider staying here if you go to Waikiki.

The rooms were clean, spacious and modern. The front desk and activities lounge staff are so friendly and so helpful. The housekeeper and security always greeted us whenever we saw them. I absolutely loved the convenience of being able to walk downstairs to the Cafe to get a delicious coffee and acai bowl. My kids loved jumping in the pool AND hot tub. The pool did get crowded at times but that's to be expected as we were there during high season. But I did witness the security asking everyone if they were a hotel guest and they actually found some who weren't and had no shame utilizing the facility. They were asked to leave and I really appreciate that the hotel actively does that. The location was amazing as we were right in the middle of the strip, one block away from the beach, right next to International Market and so many shopping centers. Our family will definitely stay here again on our next visit!

I absolutely enjoyed my Ocean view room with balcony as I was greeted by the beautiful view of the Pacific Ocean and the amazing sunshine every morning. Even though the view was partially blocked by several hotels, I was still able to see the ocean. The hotel was also conveniently located at the centre of the Waikiki district. I also loved the room being so spacious and decorated in a marine and summer vibe! I would also like to thank my housekeeper Anita for being a nice, kind and helpful lady. She greeted me cheerfully every time when I left my room and refilled the bathroom necessities promptly. However, speaking of the bathroom products, I expected a higher quality given the high price of this hotel. The products weren’t imported from a particular brand (usually a big chain-hotel does), the scent was very weak and the quantity was too little. Personally I didn’t like the bath soap as I felt it was a greater waste than shower gel, given that I would not be able to finish it. I wished the hotel could provide better products. Furthermore, the food and coffee in the hotel’s cafe was horrible. It was one of the worst dining experiences during my stay in Waikiki. The hotel receptionists were also very “green” and lack of knowledge, as they were not able to clarify on deposit issues, or when I requested receipt on credit card authorisation. More staff trainings needed! Given the costly accommodations in the Waikiki area, this hotel was the better deal among all. But I would think twice about whether or not to rebook this hotel when I return in the future…

Michael at the front desk was extremely helpful. He is a great employee and deserves to be recognized. We absolutely loved the updated island decor and the entire vibe of the hotel. It was so clean! For example, the decor pillows on bed were actually clean! And the bath mat by the sink in bathroom looked clean and brand new. We appreciate the amazing cleanliness. It is centrally located and extremely well worth the price. Easy access to meals and coffee. We enjoyed the soap and shampoo as well. This hotel was designed very nice and you can tell thought was put into all details. We switched properties for the last 2 days of our trip for a better ocean view (we moved to Hilton Hawaiian village and what a mistake that was) the place was a total expensive dump! Do yourself a favor and book the Beachcomber!!!

Hotel is centrally located and right on the strip. Quick access to the beach. Save yourself the money and stay at a hotel (like this one), back one street from the beach. The property has a modern vibe. Guests are given complimentary reusable water bottles (which was very handy) and a beach bag. Our room was lovely with a balcony and ocean view. I did notice the bathroom was starting to look tired.

I love this hotel! This is my first time in Honolulu, and I stayed here with my kids and grandkids from 11/15 to 11/20. We had 3 rooms, and we loved it. The location is OUTSTANDING!! It is in the middle of Kalakaua street, across from The Cheesecake factory, and walking distance from all the high-end stores. It is very convenient, especially if it is your first visit in Hawaii. The customer service is amazing! They are all very polite , kind and attentive. Great experience. It is not a very fancy hotel, if that is what you are looking for, but very nice , pretty and clean. The pool is kind of small, but we didn't care about it. I think they have 3 hotels in Honolulu under the name "Outrigger". Pay attention which one of them you are booking. This one, is in the middle of the main street, the other one, is on the beach. (You can walk easily to the beach from this one too). I really recommend booking the rooms with ocean view, or partial ocean view. It is beautiful.

Cassandra and Angie were amazing with a great sense of humor. These two ladies went above and beyond to give us great service. The first night our bath tub was not draining and Angie took care of getting maintenance to fix it. After our first night sleep we had a problem with the mattress, it was old and worn. Angie took care of it with the help of the rooms manager. Thank you. The only problem we had was it wasn't told to us that they would come and inspect the room after we had so many days of do not disturb without us knowing. They should of let us know in the beginning. The hotel is older but the service we received made up for it. I do recommend this place. Thank you Cassandra and Angie

This hotel is amazing! We stayed here for a second time to celebrate our anniversary. Right upon check in the staff upgraded us to an ocean view room, they gave us complimentary chocolates and surprised us by sending up a bottle of Prosecco to celebrate. The rooms are clean and had everything we needed for our stay. The hotel staff are amazing here and are eager to help whenever needed. The location of the hotel is great, so close to the beach about 1 block. Very central. Highly recommend! We can’t wait to come back again next year :)

I booked this hotel over the outrigger accidentally but had a fantastic stay. Felt like a 4 start hotel even though it was 3. Fantastic location. Pretty fun pool/hot tub. Rooms were very nice, air conditioning was excellent, and the fragrance throughout the hotel was amazing! Would definitely stay here again

We enjoyed our stay there and the staff were all very nice. Khristina was the sweetest and very welcoming. You don't see many people anymore who actually enjoy their jobs and she definitely gave a wonderful impression. The room was clean and very nice, loved the view. I was worried that their idea of ocean view wouldn't actually be ocean view, but it was perfect. The beach was just a block away and very easy to get to. There was lots of eating and shopping places in walking distance, so no car needed. The only negative thing was no microwave in the room. That would have been a nice amenity.

Unless you really feel the need to pay an exorbitant rate to say that your hotel was on Waikiki beach, being on the main strip is a perfect location for a few nights to enjoy the hustle bustle of touristy Honolulu. The hotel was great, staff are fantastic. Would have been five stars if the pool area was a bit bigger and there was more variety at the cafe for breakfast. Otherwise very happy with our stay at the Beachcomber.

I had paid for a partial ocean view king room, and i paid extra for a guaranteed high floor, what i got was a room with a sliver of ocean view and building all around, 8 complained and they changed me to an ocean view room with two double bed. Not ideal but it's okay. Aroma cafe has a decent breakfast, they don't make their breakfast sandwiches fresh. The pool and hot tub is small and always busy. Service was nice no complaints on that part. Read the fine print before you book.

The location was the best! Only a 2 minute walk across to the beach! The staff was always helpful and super friendly! We had a partial ocean and partial city view that was super nice! You get the best of both worlds with this one! Only minor downside is that our room barely had any hooks to leave our towels or wet bathing suits anywhere so we had to make shift our own areas. Definitely a must stay location for its value!

  • 5/5 Tania 2 years ago on Google
Amazing hotel! Very stylish. There is a swimming pool, jacuzzi, cafe and restaurant. The Cafe is a bit expensive, though, and incredibly slow, that’s why there is a huge line every morning (at the end of our trip we started going to Starbucks that’s 2-3 mins away). About $15 for 2 lattes. The restaurant is nice. The hotel is 3-5 minutes from the beach. We will definitely come back.

Excellent service from the staff from check in to check out. It's in the perfect location right on the strip by so many restaurants and shopping stores. It can get noisy outside at times but that's not the hotel's fault. The rooms are clean and spacious. I will definitely be back. Great bang for my buck!!!!

  • 5/5 J 2 years ago on Google
We stayed at Waikiki Beachcomber for four nights let me tell you make sure you going to have the breakfast and macchiato coffee cafe downstairs in the hotel before you venture outside because their breakfast and coffee was definitely excellent , they had so many things that I liked about it comfortable beds to sleep in they had a pH water machine for drinking water absolutely hot as heck and cold water wonderful but my most favorite thing about this Waikiki Beachcomber was the security. If you did not have a hotel Key you basically could not move you could not use the elevator if you got on the elevator with no key with someone else whatever for you got off that's where you're stuck because the elevator did not move unless she had a key I felt it was so secure you even needed to have your key to use the bathrooms downstairs in the hotel absolutely secure so yeah when I go back to visit again next year I will definitely room at the Waikiki Beachcomber
