The hotel could have been a great place to stay in Waikiki. The location is great. The room is comfortable although you do hear noises outside or from your loud neighbors. But overall it’s comfortable especially for the price. It would have earned a 4-star rating from me. That said, I could not recommend this place due to their faulty fire alarm system. I’m in the middle of our 6-day stay here. The 3 nights so far the fire alarm went off in the mid of the night (at 7 AM, 1 AM and 3 AM, respectively) and everyone had to evacuate outside until the fire department confirmed the condition safe for occupation. One night we waited for more than an hour outdoor. The first night we were told that someone smoking in the room triggered the alarm. The second night the same story. The third night they said they think the alarm is faulty and the alarm company will investigate. The management has yet to offer any compensation for the disturbance 3 nights in a row. I wish they could be more proactive in handling this. I will wait and see if this fire alarm saga is going to end tonight. Very annoyed and disappointed.

We arrived late on Wednesday night and expected to sleep in the next morning. The fire alarm went off at 7:30am so we ended up walking around while waiting for it to shut off. When we returned within the next hour, the fire alarm went off again. Thursday night we were woken up again by the fire alarm (around 12:20am) and we weren't allowed to return to the rooms until almost 2am. We had an early morning tour on Friday so we hardly slept that night. We would've left on Friday but our tour returned late and we asked the front desk if there had been any alarms during the day. We figured they may have resolved the issue if the alarm didn't go off during the day so we decided to stay one more night. That night the alarm went off around 3am. We were able to return to our room quicker than the night before but then the alarm went off every couple of minutes. We asked for a refund for the remainder of our stay and moved hotels that morning. Awful first half of our trip. If you came to Hawaii to relax, splurge a little and stay at a nicer hotel. Hotel staff were really understanding when we let them know we wanted to leave. They were able to refund us back the entire resort fee but wouldn't offer any reimbursement for the nights we already stayed.

The false alarm keeps going off in the middle of the night. From 3:30am to 5:30am. At first everyone in the whole building went down the stairs, the firefighters came and told us there was false alarm. We went back to our rooms and were disturbed nearly every 20 minutes when the alarm would go off again and again. Nearly didn’t have any sleep during the night and we just found out by talking to other people living there that this false alarm thing happened last week also. I’m exhausted and tired.

Chose this hotel cuz it fit the bill and location for a conference, May 17-20, 2023. I was a little hesitant with some of the negative reviews. However, among similar rated hotels, the price and location were very reasonable so took a chance. The hotel is a small boutique hotel, no frills, no onsite restaurant. Great for people who enjoy exploring the area vs lounging and enjoying the property. ROOM 3.5*: the room i reserved was clean but had the common musky, damp carpet smell of tropical locations (the more expensive rooms and higher rated tropical hotels don't use carpet). Interestingly, its direct online site had superior and deluxe (more expensive vs superior) rooms but at check-in, there was no distinction. I should have just booked the cheaper superior room. The bed was super firm, almost like having a sleeping bag on the floor firm. Microwave was very handy and the Bidet useful too (lol). I requested the street side view, with knowledge of possible loud street noise, because sipping a drink while people watching after a long day was enjoyable. As with any major hotel room facing a main busy street, there will be a degree of street noise. (Bring a DOHM noise cancellation machine.) The bathroom reminded me of a cruise ship bathroom, small. Electronic outlets were few and no USB or USB-C. Service 5*: I had minimal interactions with the staff but Jasmine was very friendly and helpful each time. Hotel 3.5*: small pool, 9ft at the deep end. Small lobby, if that was the lobby. Unusable "sundeck." I saw staff vacuumed, cleaned, and maintained the hotel daily. Booking direct waived my daily resort fees. The resort fee includes beach chairs and umbrellas. Fort DeRussy Beach around the corner, <7 mins walk. Would I return here in the future? Yes, but only if traveling alone, group of friends, or without young kids.

Even though the hotel employees did so little to earn the money (no cleaning because of covid but the price is the same despite covid), they acted like the smallest requests are a huge problem. Like getting clean cups after 10 days in the same room (gave me 2 paper cups after calling them multiple times). Or checking out one hour late (simply rejected). The attitude was always rude and acting like I'm a problem. Do yourself a favor and get a place where the employees have better attitude. It will make a huge difference to your vacation.

We stayed five days. When it comes to the hotel itself very clean room and they replenish supply regularly. Though its noisy because its along a busy location but we don’t mind it. Our room has a balcony so, it’s so nice to stay there at night after we our day’s itinerary. If you decided to pay parking to them we find it a little expensive but if your staying for just short time, I think its best to purchase the parking than having to spend time looking for a free spot around the Waikiki area. Highly recommended this hotel.

Most of the staff is friendly, but not everyone. Room was not that clean. There is a kitchenette, but only one chair. So one person should be standing while eating? When requesting for another chair, there were no extra chairs... Also no table or chairs are present on the balcony. Beach towels also ran out. The location is very good. The bed was comfy.

The hotel staff were phenomenal. One of our party had a mobility scooter, but the elevator was too small to accommodate it. The front desk staff kept the scooter in a closet downstairs, and kept it charged and secure when it wasn't in use. They were so accommodating of our needs, it really made our stay much easier than it could have been. The room was clean, but otherwise pretty basic with a small kitchenette. The location was ideal for getting anywhere in Waikiki, or catching transit to go farther out. All in all, this is a great place to stay.

Not a bad place for a stop over for a few nights. Our flight arrived in the morning and they were able to accommodate us and get us in a room early. Friendly staff. Rooms are updated.

My friends and I stayed at the Polynesian Residences for 9 days when we went to Hawaii for our vacation. Excellent amenities and friendly staff! Good value for your money as their rooms has everything you could ask for such as a kitchenette, bidet, spacious bathroom, kitchen utensils, and many more! Very clean lobby and room service is available upon request. Would definitely recommend this hotel for anyone looking to stay in Hawaii as their rates are reasonable and close to lots of popular landmarks!

Not bad with price but our room wasn't ready. We were able to put our stuff stored until it was ready. The pool is cute. But the hallway and bathroom have this very strange smell and it wasn't pleasant.

We originally booked a 6 day stay here but made it a 1 day stay only and that’s because all the other hotels in Waikiki were fully booked that day. The place is dirty. We looked at 2 other rooms and it was still dirty. The manager worked with us to cancel the remaining days but staying for 1 day here was still a waste of time and money. Attached our what we found absolutely disgusting in the room we stayed in. We were deceived by the pictures on the website. The only great thing about this place is the location which is near the shopping area. Thankfully, we were able to move to a cleaner hotel the next day.

I had an absolute great time staying at this location. After having a problem with the local Airbnb, we found this place, which was only a little more expensive. It is right in the heart of where you want to be. The rooms could be a little cleaner, but it was above acceptable for sure. I also accidentally left some thing in the room and the staff worked to get me my item back. it doesn’t have a ton of bells and whistles but it’s enough for where you’re at, it’s a great price and the location is awesome.

Easy walk to beach and food. Nice clean rooms. 2 burner stove, small fridge and a microwave. Toaster and kerig included as well as utensils plates bowls...great bargain .

Solid hotel. The staff was super helpful. They let me hang out by the pool when I arrived quite a bit before check in, held my bags while I went exploring, and were otherwise wonderful. The hotel itself isn't breathtaking, but you aren't paying for a breathtaking hotel. For the price, it is a solid option that is centrally located and has tons of stuff around it to explore. Would definitely return.

The experience was great! We travelled as a group of 6 *wink wink* (if you know what I mean), we got the Studio Suit. 1 king, 2 double bed, and 2 full bathrooms. Each bathroom has a full bidet, very lovely to use! They have a pool, no gym. They don't have its own parking lot, but they offer a parking pass that is about 5 mins walk away from the hotel. They were very accomodating to any of our generic needs. I actually got a 12% discount from Avion Rewards(RBC Canada), because I booked a flight in there. There isn't breakfast, so keep that in mind if you are needing that. The location is great, all walking distance to the main attractions and venues in Honolulu. The Photo I posted shows the road that the hotel is on. If you're on a budget and still looking for a great hotel experience, I recommend this hotel! Feel free to ask me questions about our stay!

Loved that hotel. Rooms are huge, price very decent, service great. They just remodeled the place and it is wasn't for the noise from the street, it would have been perfect!

The hotel itself was ok, the room was lovely and having beach towels, chairs and bodyboards to use was fab. Book direct with them if you want to avoid the resort fees of about $20 per nite. Also, the noise was unbearable. It’s like the windows are open they’re so thin and the walls are like paper so, you can hear everything. Hotel can’t help it but we were constantly woken at 6 and kept awake till midnight (we had young kids with us). Hotel didn’t enforce noise policy at all. The pool was fab and you are right in the middle of things but DO NOT stay here if you want a quiet break. No bar or restaurant, so restricted to room and parking is a nitemare!!!!!!! It’s not onsight and there was always a group of us trying to get out.

Walking distance from just about everything in waikiki. Bidet in the room was very nice. Staff was helpful, and even held our bags after we checked out so we could explore a little more before our flight

An early flight has us arrive in Waikiki at 8:30am. I had previously contacted PR to ask about leaving our luggage before available check in time so we headed straight here. When greeted by the lovely receptionist, we were told our room was ready and could check in straight away! Fabulous service and so friendly. Pool are warm and inviting. Towels available for beach or pool. Walking distance to everywhere that’s exciting and very close to the beach. I would have rated 5 stars except for the slightly odd smell in hall but I think the humidity here may have something to do with that. Room was very clean, comfortably with a large microwave, bar fridge and amazing shower!

My visit here starting with them losing my reservation. The room had bandaids and a Splenda packet stuck too the wall. The bidet did not work. The staff was friendly. The location is terrible. If you don't already know where this place is you will miss it very easily. Bring eat plugs if you don't want the sounds of traffic and night life keeping you up all night.

This hotel has a serious plumbing issue. Despite changing rooms, the hotel smelled of raw sewage the whole week we were there. Services are very limited. No restaurant on site, no room service, no parking on site and housekeeping comes only every 4 days. Nothing is less relaxing than coming back from the day at the beach to a smelly, dirty hotel room. We had to request our rooms to be cleaned and trash to be taken out and were told we could leave the trash outside the door and then get a new trash bags from the front desk! Toiletries were also in short supply. The room is furnished with shabby furniture and the balcony had a couple of musty old chairs. A small bistro set would have at least make the balcony a nice place to people watch, since the only thing going for this place is the location.

We stayed for 5 nights in Poly Residences and we had a great experience!.. The staff are so pleasant and friendly! Our room was clean and the place was clean. You will love the Japanese toilet 😀.. But my recommendation to the manager is that, I hope that you guys play some Hawaiian songs and the lobby staff will dress in Hawaiian. As a guest, we would love to feel the Hawaiian spirit. 🙂 Just a thought.

I think the hotel is running a scam through expedia and hotels.com. I booked a 660sq.ft suite and when we tried to check in, they told us it's a mistake so we just got a regule 330sq.ft room. After numerous phone calls with an expedia agent, we got offered the option to either cancel or get a $100 coupon for our 8 night stay. If you are looking for a regular hotel room, this place may work for you, but it's just not what we booked. The room size is literally the only reason we booked here. The hotel has a very unimpressive entry and lobby, and it's situated on one of the main roads. Our room faced the back. You would think it would be quieter but it backs onto at least 3 restaurants so it always smells like different foods and the music from the different spots doesn't quiet down until later at night and the kitchen dish noise starts up around 7:30ish every morning. Our balcony came with a single old upholstered dining room style chair as outdoor seating. Towels are very rough. The 'kitchenet' doesn't come with a single tea towel. The hood fan is across the hall from the cooking elements. The cutlery drawer is jammed and the faucet is permanently in spray mode so any time you turn the water everything around gets soaked. Our TV was broken and the shower doesn't have any hot water.

My family and I stayed recently, and found the accommodations quite pleasant, and a good value--the location is very convenient, and the price is great. Based on the rooms and amenities, I would rate four stars, as there isn't much of a view, and no beautiful grounds to wander, like so many other hotels in the area. HOWEVER, I am rating at five stars, because the staff here was absolutely amazing. They were very helpful in so many ways, and I have the deepest gratitude for their wonderful service. If we are in Honolulu again, we will book here in a heartbeat.

Fantastic place to stay for the price. The staff are incredibly nice and accommodating. The location is great for a short walk to Fort DeRussy beach and all the restaurants in Waikiki. The rooms aren't anything spectacular. I wish they had outlets near the beds. Overall clean but the hallways smelled a little weird. Not sure why our balcony didn't have furniture while others did. The ice machine for the hotel did not work. They provide beach towels and chairs for free, which was a nice touch. They also have a limited number of in/out parking passes available for the nearby garage on Kalaimoku St. that is significantly cheaper than paying each time. The parking pass made our lives a lot easier because we made several trips to the North/West shores.

A hidden gem right on the "strip". Service was great and the rooms were modern and great! The toilets even had a bidet! (I'm American and never used one, cut me some slack). Only gripes: housekeeping could be better. I wish they would come in and at least restock the soap and other things, especially for a longer stay. Parking is also a bit confusing, and you have to frantically search for a spot somewhere so you can check in, and then you have to lug your bags from the parking garage they send you too. Overall though, great hotel with great location to the strip and the beach!

This hotel was very disappointing. I looked.at the prior ratings and thought it was going to be a good stay. The amenities were great; microwave, refrigerator, two burner stovetop in suites, complimentary beach chairs and beach towels on request. However, I rate a zero for cleanliness. We are in a pandemic and management must do more to keep the place clean. The floors in the reception area and hallway carpets were filthy. The glass door had hand and finger marks that were never cleaned off. The hallways often smelled of trash on some days! The hallways were never vacuumed in the entire time we were there for 13 days. The one elevator was also never cleaned. One night the electricity went out for a couple of minutes! The fire alarm went off a couple of times the next day. I had to call the front desk to find out what was going on. We had our room cleaned only one day in all of the 13 days we were there. We had to constantly request for clean towels and toilet tissue each day. They had only 2 housekeeping on duty and some days just one! They could have still done better with the cleanliness of the entire hotel. I would never stay here again. The price per night was over $200 and yet the service and cleanliness was so poor! This is not acceptable!!

I’m giving this a 3-str only because of the location. It is very centrally located, with clean rooms. The customer service is definitely lacking, and you do pay a hefty fee to park. The hotel staff seemed confused, and it was easier not to keep asking about the “breakfast” and “parking pass”. We didn’t get much out of this stay, with the exception of the location.

In a great location, but I got woken up by false fire alarm.

  • 2/5 Katherine T. 3 years ago on Google
Adequate. Elevator was TINY. And when we arrived they just had bags and bags of trash in the hallway because they were cleaning the rooms, but i feel like there's a better way to do that than leaving giant bags of trash in the hallways. Otherwise, it was fine. Good location. Parking was a huge inconvenience though as they were out of day passes and if you don't have one of those then there's no in and out privileges in any of the garages so you pay every time you take your car out. Honestly I'd just pay the extra money next time to stay somewhere more convenient. Oh and also they lock the front doors at night because the front desk got robbed a few weeks ago apparently. So. Yeah. Lol.
