If I could give this zero stars I would. NEVER STAY HERE! This building is an absolute dirty slum! We arrived and they gave us the wrong room with not enough beds for all of us to sleep. They only have one elevator works. That one elevator breaks constantly! the shady slum lords expect their residents to climb the stairs. There is 40 floors! As we were climbing 9 flights to get our stuff 7-10 firefighters were running up the stairs to the 34th floor trying to save someone! Poor firefighters. These managers should be held accountable for their negligence and this dangerous slum they are running.

Upon arrival we noticed the absolutely gorgeous view. After looking around that was about the only thing gorgeous in this unit, we were on the 28th floor. The bed is all spring and absolutely no support to where a bowling ball would go through the bed. The sheets were stained, we had to buy brand new pillow cases that is how stained they were. The floor is a dark brown carpet with black and darker brown stains all over the floor. After being here a few days we needed to take the trash out. We were given one extra trash bag and one extra roll over toilet paper. The TV had two remotes, half the buttons work on one and half worked on the other. The "complimentary" shampoo, conditioner, lotion and dish soap were watered down to the "fill line". To top it off, we are coffee drinkers, there was a coffee maker but no filters nor a coffee pot to catch the coffee. The elevators were a DEATH trap, while we have been here a downstairs neighbor could not get to his floor because the elevator did not open the door to the floor but the actual elevator door opened. Out of all that is here the fridge, stove top and the sinks worked. I would not suggest this to anyone because frankly it is not close to worth it. When it came time to check out we were not given instructions on check out until 9am the day of check out and instructions were to be checked out at 10am.

Photo editing is real. This was by far the worst place my husband and I have ever stayed. Firstly, the elevator situation. There is only one elevator for 40 floors so be ready to wait anywhere for 5-15 minutes for it to come. Then when you get in it’s so slow and hot it’s unbearable. Everyone in this building, including the permanent tenants, are furious. The unit itself is so outdated, you get the one blanket and pillow, and the hallways smell like mold. The only saving grace is that the AC works and the view is beautiful. The pool is not up-kept well and tennis court un-useable. Highly recommend looking elsewhere!

I saw all these negative reviews after we booked and got a bit nervous until we actually stayed. We spent two nights here. The location next to the beach is amazing. Yes, it’s a condo motel and all of that was advertised when we booked it. We knew about the valet parking and the room looked as great as the picture! It was clean and the kitchen was great for us to cook our meals in. We didn’t expect there to be dishes and cookware for us, but they were very nice and in great condition. The bed was comfortable and we slept great both nights! The view from the 36th floor was amazing! The check-in was informative and it was nice to know that If we wanted housekeeping they would provide it at our request otherwise you do your own thing. We didn’t need much for just staying two nights. Yes, one elevator works and can be slow coming down, but what do you expect with 40 floors on the tower! Going up in the elevator was fairly quick and with such a beautiful view through the window of the elevator I was distracted and felt the ride went quick. I was sad to see so many bad reviews because for my husband and I, our stay has been great!

Tight parking garage. We were heading up and a driver was coming down, going way above 5 miles per hour and almost hit us head on. The elevator didn’t stop leveled so I tripped stepping in. A lady got stuck in the elevator. On our last day we returned around 1 pm to find a note taped to the door and the neighboring door informing us that it was a nonsmoking building. I checked other doors and there were no printed signs taped to thoses doors. (We do not smoke)

Good location and great views but i recommend Only staying here threw Airbnb, our room was clean and updated inside, unlike some of the other reviews i see here. Also the elevator is crapy but we only ran into it being down once thankfully.

By far the worst building in Honolulu. Stayed there for a few weeks and both the elevators were broken for 3 days. There are only 2 elevators and periodically both break down at the same time. Health hazard. Pay a few more dollars and find a better place

Negative 4 would be a more accurate rating. This place has shifty elevators and roaches. There is a mildew like smell that is noticable the moment you walk in the building. It was so bad, I left and got a new hotel. Do waste your money, there is not enough "good value" to justify this. Don't stay here

The maintenance standards for both the building and the unit are beyond ridiculous. The building has 40 floors with only 2 elevators, which under the best of conditions makes for a pretty long wait. To make matters worse, one of the elevators was usually out of order during our stay. At one point, both elevators stopped working for most of the day, which means that some people had to walk up 40 flights of stairs. The air conditioner in the unit was ancient and sounded like a diesel dump truck. It was impossible to use at night, and we stopped using it altogether after the first day. One of the burners of the two-burner stove was not working. There was loud construction noise in a neighboring unit for most of our stay. There was a huge crack in the bathroom countertop. The microwave handle was broken off. There was a rusty patch on a shower wall where the soap holder used to be once upon a time. Paint was peeling everywhere. Cabinet doors were coming off the hinges. The cheapest motel I ever stayed in was miles ahead of this dump.

DO NOT STAY HERE. Elevator breaks multiple times a week. Then you have to walk up and down 40 flights of stairs. This has been an issue for decades and there is no excuse. Even when they do work it takes 10-15 minutes (no exaggeration) for the elevators to reach the high floors. Health code needs to condemn this building. If you have a handicap and there's an issue, you will die. There is no safe way down and it is NOT ADA accessible

The view is impeccable. The building is 40 stories, with one out of two elevators down for repair. I have not had to wait more than 5 minutes for an elevator. The building is old and the rooms are in drastic need of repair/remodeling. There is no daily cleaning service, which is ok with me. If you need towels or linens, you have to call guest services. It has a kitchenette, everything is functional. It has window a/c which cools the room well. Parking in the garage is $30 a day. This is the bargain way to visit Hawaii. Since you should spend most of your time outdoors, the room is fine.

I am aware that there are many negative reviews about Waikiki Marina. Here I write my personal experience. We have been here at Waikiki Marina for 4 days and we are going to stay 5 more days. So far My teen and I love this place. Our unit is very clean (I especially love the shower walls and nice water pressure), the A.C. works fine, beds are very comfortable, etc. I like the view from the windows–we can see both a partial ocean view and the beautiful greens alongside the Ala Wai canal. It is easy to throw away trash. The building staff is very friendly too. So far I have not seen any bugs in our room. It is true that the elevator is slow, but we often just take stairs and it is actually a good experience for my teen and myself. I would not recommend Waikiki Marina, however, if you have a health problem like knee issues, etc. What I really, really love is the location. Ala Moana Cetner is the hub for the public bus, and if you walk 5 min., you can pretty much can go anywhere in the island. There are so many great places you can walk to from Waikiki Marina: ・Don Quijote for Japanese food, bento, grocery, and souvenir and everything is only 12 min. away. ・Walmart is only 12 min. away. ・Target is only 10 min. away. ・Mitsuwa market for Japanese food is only 30 min. away and the walk is fun. ・Nijiya for great Japanese bento is also only 8 min. away. ・Foodland for bento for good price is about 10 min. away. ・ABC Stores is only 1 min. away and is a great place to get a gallon of water. ・McDonald’s is also 1 min. away. ・Chart House, the local favorite steak & seafood place with amazing harbor view is only 3 min. away. ・SOHO Hawaii, a Japanese hairsalon with excellent cutting techniques (only $45!!!!!!!) is also 5 min. away. There are other condo hotels like Ilikai or Discovery Bay in the same area, but they are more expensive. Other cheaper apartment hotels in the same area are, honestly, not looking very good (like people drinking at the condo lobby in the day time = not kid-friendly or the balconies not looking clean, etc.) I am a former Honolulu local resident and come back to the island every year to see my friends. I have stayed in a mansion in Kahala, a million-dollar house in Ewa Beach, a condo near Punahou, and here at the Waikiki Marina in the past. Having said that, I would come back to Waikiki Marina again for the future trip with my child.

Walkable distance to Ala Moana Mall and Beach park. 5 min drive to iconic Waikiki strip. Great view of the city and ocean. Elevators are the main flaw - there was only one working elevator for 39 floors.

The place is a dump. The elevators don’t work. Tonight there was a medical emergency on the 34th floor and the firefighters had to walk up 34 flights of stairs t get to someone. People were trying to get to their rooms, but couldn’t and had to find lodging elsewhere for the night.

The room was old paint chipping from the ceiling small bathroom. Dirty carpet ceiling . Location location was great. Well be a great room if they spend some $$ to update

Dated but with a beautiful view. If they updated their elevator and slapped on a fresh coat of paint it’d be a 5 star review.

The location was amazing, overlooking the beaches to Waikiki and Honolulu! The elevator was troublesome because only one was in operation. This made for a timely entrance and exit as the building was nearly 40 floors. Clean and tidy place. The room was amazing with an amazing view overlooking the beaches!

One elevator for 40 floors, sometimes we had to wait up to 12 minutes just to get from parking to the room. Beware - this is disguised as an Airbnb as well, do not stay here.

Great place to kick back, I got a room through air B&B, the room was very expensive for the lack of square footage. Both elevators did work, the parking security gave me trouble even though we told them we had a room ans said they might have towed us. The view was great, the lack of railing was kinda sketchy. But you can not beat the location. The building felt tired and dated it could use some TLC.

We were staying here for three nights and everything was good. The view from our room was speechless! The location was good for us, the beach is on a walking distance, maybe 10 minutes or less. I cannot say too much about the reception because they were not there all the time, but all in all, i loved it. It was not expensive but still excellent! I am satisfied.

Old and run down. Stove half worked. Closet doors broken. Half the light bulbs blown. Bucket in hallway to catch leaking water. Not expensive and now I know why. Never going back.
