The room size was good and the kitchenette was a nice touch. I didn't have a problem with noise but I was on the 4th floor. I have stayed in small independent hotels in the area before. Most have excellent service, this was not one of them. They say they are open 8 to 8. There isn't anyone there at 8 I have seen groups of people waiting as late at 830 with still no one there. They hang the sign that I posted a photo of and can be gone for an hour or so. They have no room service so you think you can run down at 10am for towels, coffee or toilet paper but there is that sign and no one in sight. I know for sure they were gone an hour at least once. This sign appears many, many times throughout the day and you never know when they are coming back. I once walked the entire property on all the floors and went in the rooms where the doors were open and never found anyone. The location was good.

Great place to stay. Room has a nice bathroom, kitchenette with plates, and a balcony with seating. Also the ac works very well. It is super close to all the local shops, and a nice portion of beach. The staff are extremely kind, helpful, and respectful. For the price I see nothing negative I can say. You can also smoke on the balcony which has 2 chairs and a table. Overall I would say this might be a hidden gem of Waikiki.

LONG BUT DETAILED REVIEW I was very very very worried when I booked this hotel. After all, Google states its a 1 star hotel. But I read the reviews and figured worse case, I would not stay and just move to a big-named hotel. It was a $100 gamble. BEST GAMBLE ever! I spent four nights at this hotel in November and was very impressed. I was actually impressed! Has to be one of the cleaner hotels I have stayed at in many years and I can that as a business traveler with more than 1,000 nights in a hotel room over the past ten years (typically Hilton, Hyatt, Crown Plaza), the family that owns this hotel knows what they are doing when it comes to cleaning! The guys working the front desk are just as amazing as the room! They were friendly and welcoming from the moment I arrived until I left. When I had questions....and I know they get asked the same question every day by multiple guests... they still made me feel like it was the first time someone asked and they were happy to answer it. Price for the room was great. I enjoyed my experience so much, I decided to fly back to Waikiki for another visit. I actually planed my trip around availability at Waikiki Central. So, April 29...fly from Texas back to the hotel for another week. Have already talked to the front desk twice with questions and their friendliness on the phone is making me that much more excited to be going back! Now for the details and a breakdown of my rating for this hotel. EXCELLENT: Service, cleanliness, location, location, location, price, GOOD: Room size, fridge, dishes in the room (loved that), body boards and chairs in the lobby, refreshed towels daily. Like all hotels since Covid, room is not made up unless you ask. DIFFERENT: Not good or bad, just different.... not use to a front office staff part of the day. But if that helps them keep the prices down I am 100% for it....after-all, how often do you need the front desk at 2am? There are signs on the door with a phone number and an auto-call box next to the elevator if you need someone after hours. They seem to have this covered pretty well. I came back late at night many times and had no issues. They were open when I needed them open. Sheets -- I was not a fan of the sheets. They use two flat sheets on the bed rather than a fitted and a flat sheet, and there is no real comforter. I had a hard time sleeping when the sheets kept ending up in a pile. So on this trip back I am taking a fitted sheet with me. Just my personal preference that I have a fitted sheet. FINAL - This is a no brainer. I took the $200 per night savings and the $50 resort fee per day everyone else in Waikiki is spending at the big box hotels and used it to eat out, rent a car to see the island, take a tour, go to the Cultural Center and see the really cool show. I did not need a fancy lobby or a pool. When I wanted to sit outside in an elegant environment, I walked 5 minutes down the street to a resort and sat in their lobby (but didn't pay the crazy price for the room). Honestly... if you come to Waikiki to explore and be active....GREAT HOTEL. Without a lobby or fancy couches in the rooms, it sorta makes you want to not sit in the room and watch tv, but go out and experience the island. If you need a resort with all the amenities... that is cool, it leaves a room open at the Waikiki Central for me!

This a great hotel and the price is so cheap. I would like to thank the owner/management of this hotel. I flew out and left a pair of shoes in my room. The manager dug through the trash and found my shoes and kept it for my family to pick up for me. Love these people and this hotel. Will definitely book again.

This place is a hidden gem! Clean, cosy rooms. Literally 2 blocks from the beach. Unlimited eating and shopping options within blocks. The staff is awesome and super friendly. You can’t beat for the price! The rooms even have nice balconies. Seriously, you won’t regret it.

This is a great hotel. The fact they don't charge an exorbitant amount even though they could double their rates says a lot about management. They aren't out to fleece the tourists like everyone else. For the price and the in-room amenities, this place can't be beat. I would definitely stay here again and recommend Waikiki Central Hotel to anyone coming to Oahu and looking for a place to stay.

Very clean, well equipped and the staff is very kind and attentive! I didn't realize how centrally (hence the name) that we were located until we went for a stroll to the beach in the morning and found that we were only one block away ! We highly recommend this hotel because it's very convenient, very clean, and has a team that made us smile !

This place is great! The staff is awesome; extremely friendly and accommodating. We had a great stay. Our room was fairly quiet with the exception of a food truck nearby blasting their music. This is not the hotel’s fault! The bed was comfortable. The room was clean. The price and location were great. Highly recommended!

It's in a perfect place. Walking distance from the beach, the bus, the trolley & where a lot of tours pick up. But you save yourself a lot of money just by staying here. They might close at 8 but don't worry they will take care of you if you have any issues after hours. I would recommend this place to everyone, who just wants to place to sleep with simple amenities. Shout out to all the staff, y'all are truly amazing & attentive. I can't wait to comeback.

Stayed here for 8 nights. A great place to stay which is also very budget friendly. Only a block away from Waikiki beach and the shopping district. All the staff were very nice and the room is spacious and clean. I got a king sz room and the bed was pretty soft! Also a plus that they let you borrow beach towels, chairs and boards. Wifi was great also and had no problem with it. Definitely the best cheapest option to stay in Hawaii.

Wow I feel like we lucked out on this place and would absolutely book again. Place was newly renovated and super clean. Front desk is always friendly and helpful. And what a prime location to the beach!! Place was secure, convenient, and well kept. Minimal noise from the street (minus the garbage trucks that seemed to come most mornings)

This is a gem of a hotel. Location is perfect - Waikiki beach is 5 minutes away on foot and everything else (restaurants, shops, etc) is within close proximity. The rooms are clean and the beds comfortable. They even provide beach towels, umbrellas, etc free of charge so that was one less thing to worry about. Best of all, the staff especially Reese and William are amazing. We arrived quite late and the front desk had already closed, but Reese waited for us to make sure we were good. They were very friendly and we felt at ease asking them for recommendations. In fact, they were so friendly that we would just come to the front desk to have a chat and learn more about Hawaii and its culture. Overall, we would gladly stay at Waikiki Central Hotel again when we return to Hawaii, and can confidently recommend this place to anyone as long as you're not expecting something luxurious. Definitely bang for your buck!

I stayed there from 9/9 to 9/13. Room was small but clean and accommodating for one person. Excellent location less than two blocks from the beach in the heart of Waikiki. Definitely recommend for a single person or couple dwelling not looking for all the frills but just wanting to enjoy Honolulu. Washer and dryer available on the side of the building worked great. No maid service but they will switch out your towels daily. Right next door to scooter rental and ABC convenience store.

Hidden gem. Centrally located only 2 short blocks to the beach. No frills place but super clean with comfy beds and soft white linens. Fridge & microwave in kitchenette plus dishes. Air conditioning and flat screen tv. V v helpful staff. Easy check in since office not 24 hrs. Would recommend especially if won’t use resort svcs in expensive hotel! Will stay here next time!

Needed to leave a Shout Out to Reese and William for their extra kindnesses. Not only was our room clean and handy to everything, but everyone at the front office helped to make things work perfectly for us. We left our luggage on our last day when we were checking out but going on a tour before our flight. Even after returning we were welcome to use the beach items. Reese and William also gave great advice about Waikiki area food and activities. If you are someone who doesn't need an 'exclusive' resort but just a clean, simple, friendly place, this is for you!

A lovely small Inn. Service is excellent with some fantastic counter staff. It's warm and welcoming. Rooms them selves are simple but offer everything you need, from microwaves to coffee. Only downside, is while most rooms are pretty sound proof, some noise does get in from around the door.

I would stay again. The location is great, the price can’t be beat, clean, safe, staff were pleasant to interact with, free beach towels and chairs. I booked due to a YouTube video showing the hotel in detail. I believe titled Cheapest Hotel in Waikiki.

Great service, clean and comfortable accommodations. Location is very good. A smaller hotel so don't expect great views, but walking distance to beach, food, and shopping. Great value.

Excellent budget accommodation in the heart of Waikiki. Clean comfortable rooms with all the facilities you could need. Reese, the hotel manager is exceptional. I was sick during my stay and he made sure we could stay in our room until I'd recovered and he even made sure we got to the airport after our shuttle bus failed to show up. If we ever go back to Hawaii this is where we'll stay - Thanks Reese.

Excellent staff (S/o to Reese), room was nice & clean....great location near beach! My only complaint would be I couldn't park my rental at the hotel during my entire recent stay & had to park elsewhere & walk back to the hotel to see my original parking space empty every night (lol) but overall my stay was great!

Clean but it's a VERY loud area. People screaming as well as unusually loud cars sitting and revving their engines until at least midnight. The staff was friendly and very helpful. The rooms are cute and for 1 night it worked but I wouldn't stay more than that.

A very small place that paid attention to making it functional. We had a balcony open to entertainment at restaurant across street, with the best musician! The perks are location, some free parking , kitchenette, and so close to the beach and fun places. If you are on budget and don't mind nonluxury this is a gr8 e at choice. The service was very polite and willing to help. I'm fearful of heights but managed the 5th floor without much difficulty. See try to visit the restaurant on the across the street. We stopped there at bar. The bartender was friendly and informative and we saw the food was really good. I met a cute couple in the escalator visiting for first time and just there, very sweet visitors. Just in front of hotel is a rental of various things like scotters and cute little carts. Its a one start but much better than many motels and hotels I've occupied. The interior was functionally updatted.

Great location, right by the beach. Balcony had a view of the ocean. Spacious rooms and attentive staff. I stayed at one of the β€˜higher star’ more expensive hotels for one night after my stay here and was severely disappointed. Stay here if you can
