Food is pretty good and they have live music every night, which makes the atmosphere and vibe of the restaurant much better. The restaurant is at the poolside, but once the pool closes after sunset, it's more quiet and focused on the food and entertainment of the night. The musicians were fantastic - make sure to give them a round of applause for appreciation! Their chicken portion was larger than expected. We also came here for breakfast before heading to the airport. The pancakes are really big and filling. They have cream cheese inside of the pancakes, so if you're not into that make sure you let them know or choose another meal. The avocado toast was good. The sausages are tasty. We had free coupons to use, which was really nice for our last day in Honolulu!

Located in the Outrigger Reef hotel, this dining area is really tables by the poolside.  The attraction was the availability of table reservations on short notice, but also the live Hawaiian music during dinner.  The hotel looks like it’s currently under renovations, and is far off the main venue of Waikiki and a bit confusing to find. We did have Open Table reservations which worked great, and were show right to our table on time.  Table service was well timed and never felt rushed through our meal, however the meals and atmosphere fell below expectations.  The appetizer of Ahi Poke & Avocado appetizer and Bread Pudding dessert were both well prepared, but the entrees rated poor to good.  The Huli Huli chicken and West Oahu Garden Napoleon were both fairly average on both flavors and presentations.  The Soft Shell Crab wrap was poorly executed, with the crab tempura battered and fried, but then placed inside a moist wrap causing the crab to lose all sense of crispness.  In addition, several bites of the wrap contained harder part of the shell, which made it difficult to enjoy.  The grilled New York steak was prepared with an over abundance of garlic and butter, and didn’t resemble a strip steak, but more of a center cut, and cooked beyond the temperature requested.  Nothing on the entrees made them inedible, but expectations from similar dishes were very different. Overall, with the poolside table seating in the center court of the hotel, and the overall entrée experience, we probably would find a different place to enjoy a dinner in Waikiki. Hints for your visit: If you are looking for the live music, check with staff on the music times and request early to sit close to the musician area

The Hawaiian music was hands down the best part. The band was so friendly and there were hotel guests getting up and dancing hula while the band played. The food was great too! The quesadilla and cheese bread were fantastically delicious and the coconut shrimp was great too! We were a group of 10 so the service took a while which is to be expected but we were hardly checked in on and had to ask for more water, drinks, and napkins a few times. But very reasonably priced compared to some of the other restaurants in the area

The food was really good as was the service. But for a five star top dollar restaurant, I really expect better than to have ants on my table.

Not a single Saturday night better than Kani Ka Pila Grill. The live music by Ho'okena, drinks are amazing and food is top notch. Pineapple Creme Brulee.... Try it. You won't be disappointed. Choose the garlic mashed potatoes for the side. Yummy

I visited this restaurant/bar for the first time Jan 2020. It was a great experience. We had a large work group and a ton of different corporate cards. The server was very nice and accommodating, the food was absolutely delicious, and the live band was great. I visited again Jan 2022 by myself this time and sat at the bar. I was disappointed the menu had changed, I went specifically for the chicken/shrimp nachos but it was no longer available. The bartender Rory was SUPER nice and told me they’ve changed chefs since I last visited. I ordered the Ahi and Avocado Poke as an appetizer. It was good but the chips that came with it were blah. I had the Fish Sandwich for dinner. I was surprised and disappointed it was beer battered. It tasted okay. Not sure I would go back.

Came in with low expectations and the food was surprisingly good. The fish tacos and killer bread were fantastic and fresh! The nachos were fine (a bit generic) and the pork quesadilla had some incredibly well seasoned pork. The service was a bit slow. We didn't get refills the whole meal and it took a while to get our drink order. I'm sure there are other restaurants that are better but I wasn't mad at this place at all. Especially for the price point.

The rib sliders and crab wraps were well prepared, fresh and tasty. Very nice open air atmosphere just off the beach. Solid device. Would eat here again. Very nice that the manager called me me in advance of my reservation to advise the weather wasn’t looking good and it would be OK if I didn’t make it. Thankfully, just sprinkles.

Just Excellent. We went back 3 days in a row for lunch - fish tacos, poke bowls, and ahi nachos were all delicious. It's expensive (poolside in Honolulu, of course it is), but by far worth the surcharge compared to anything else in the area. Really nice staff, mellow vibes, highly recommend.

Rory at the bar is great. Our server was ok. Get the Ahi Tuna nachos and the garlic bread. Super yum. Live music and the wife of one of the older gentleman will come out occasionally to do a traditional hula dance. Great place to hang out. Skip the Huli huli chicken rubbery skin. Truffle mash was great. Broccolini was without any seasoning.

Amazing food, we ordered off the lunch menu for dinner and it was delicious. The fish tacos and chicken burgers are so good. Amazing service as well. I appreciate the 3 limes for my 3 tacos.

This was a real 5* dining experience. The food was absolutely wonderful (be warned though the portions are huge). The servers were super friendly and helpful. Honestly, they couldn’t do enough for us. Finally the music was great too. The evening we were there Kala’e Camarillo was performing and his beautiful songs made for a fantastic atmosphere.

This was the best meal of my entire life. I got the furikake crusted ahi and it was absolutely phenomenal. The service was great. They forgot our appetizer but made it up to us. We will definitely come back here. I adore this restaurant.

Absolutely loved the food here. DAMN. Beyond burger was on point, salad was delicious with some swordfish on top. The best of the best was the pineapple crème brûlée 🤤🤤🤤 Highly recommend. I also only speak on this from a takeout perspective, but the staff was incredibly friendly and kind!

Came here on Saturday and sat at the bar. The service was great! I had the ahi and avocado poke (as a bowl), my husband had some kind of fish sandwich. Both dishes were very good! I don’t know what they put in their fries, but I almost ordered another side of them - they really hit the spot. Their mixed drinks are a little pricey (but on par with other places in Waikiki) but delicious. Overall, I definitely recommend this place!

To eat there they have to measure your temperature, make you fill a form online before you ever seat, we just left, fair to say personal are polite and nice

Meh. Had the Kauai Garlic Shrimp dish which was ok. The Killer Bread dish was basically a Pizza Hut cheesy bread... The rest of the folks in our party were pretty underwhelmed with their meals. It just doesn't line up with the consistently great food we've come across at other Outrigger properties. Duke's/Hula Grill at the other Outrigger is lightyears beyond this place in terms of quality. Our poor server seemed like the only guy waiting tables in the joint so he was basically running around like crazy. For the pressure he was under, he performed wonderfully. He's was the star of the experience. There was construction going on in the lobby which, at night time, was a little confusing to find where to check in but the staff in the hotel helped out. The bathroom for the restaurant is the public bathroom for the pool area which had a couple inches of water in it so beware of that. Save your cash and hit some other local joints.

Not only did we get rained on. We payed 10 for KRAFT Mac and Cheese!!! Definitely overpriced and under seasoned.

The staff here was absolutely amazing! Every single staff member was more than accommodating and was so kind. The music and easy walk up with a large group was just what we needed and the food and drinks were great as well! My husband and I had the braised pork sliders and the scallop sliders. Great flavors! Vibes with lit torches and live band were not compromised by the construction they have going on at the hotel. Valet parking was available for $8 for 4 hours (cash only).

Absolutely fabulous experience! Did not expect such delicious food at a hotel restaurant. Breakfast and dinner were delicious and staff was extremely pleasant. No more expensive than any other local eats.
