Quickly becoming one of my favorite places for local food. Beef stew, laulau, poke, Haili's has it all. The quality of food is great and you can tell a lot of care goes into it. The small sides (pickled onion, pineapple, and taro) really round out the meal.

We are in Honolulu for our wedding anniversary. We are staying in Waikiki. We asked a friend who moved here where we should go to get an authentic Hawaiian lunch experience and they recommended Haili's. They were sooo sweet. They explained everything to us on the menu. They have huge servings. It was all very tasty. They also have some seating outside thank goodness because we walked there. I would highly recommend checking them out.

This is the place to go to have authentic Hawaiian food. Amazing food and an even more amazing staff! One of the most memorable meals I've had in Hawaii.

(Translated by Google) It may depend on the menu you ordered, but I felt the amount was small for the price. The clerk was very kind. (Original) 頼んだメニューによるかもしれませんが、値段の割には量が少なく感じました。店員さんはとても優しかったです。

I only tried their Limu poke bowl, at the suggestion of the cashier. It was pretty good. It tasted unlike anything I had before and I don't think I could describe it. I recommend this dish to anyone that loves trying new foods. The fish was fresh and the rice well cooked. It didn't take too long for the food to come out.

Food is on point. I love their ahi poke. Excellent service in a humble location. Don't forget to try the chef's soup. I actually got to meet the chef. Funny and friendly. FYI parking is on the left side of the building.

What not to love on Hawaiian food? HHF is on my foodielist since last year. Though we pass by this eatery multiple times already I really don’t have the chance to stop and grab some kines. But today July 29, 2021 I finally decided to try this place out. First of all this eatery is easy to spot as this is just along the road of Kapahulu Ave. between Winam Ave. and Palani Ave. Can’t missed it! They got small parking at the back on the side of Winam Ave. FOOD. Chicken Long Rice Bowl, is so on point. This is always my favorite on Hawaiian food. This dish got me real good so I ordered this one in here & Haili didn’t disappoint me. The bowl came with two scoop of rice a small slice of taro and a small slice of pickled onion (which really elevate the overall taste of my ordered food). It was a good choice. Kalua Pig Bowl, is just okay but my husband loves it so much. And said that it was seasoned good. Opihi is so salty but so good! I got the taste from the ocean ad a bit refreshing. Haupia is not that good though but still I enjoyed it. Perfect dessert after the main meal we got. The only downside is the rice. They didn’t cook it real good. It’s kinda mushy and it somehow ruined the eating experience but I can manage by that. Price is a bit steep but since it was a local business & we are dining at Hawaiian eatery I won’t argue with that. We had fun. We enjoyed our meal. Our tummy was full & satisfied. For sure we gonna come back here!

If you are in Waikiki you have to make your way over here. Food was out of this world. Tasted the other dishes my family ordered and it was all incredible. Staff was also so nice and helped us order since were not too familiar with local foods. I got a kalua bowl and I don’t think I’ll need to eat the rest of the day Im so full. Absolute must!

Man.... I don’t know how they got 4.6 score. But that place was pretty bad. Its smells, food tasted pretty plain fish was very old. We paid 42$ for 2 meals. Still makes me sick when I think about it.

Haili’s welcomed us with open arms! It didn’t feel like a restaurant, it felt like have an amazing lunch with your family members! Awesome experience! Would fly 12 hours from nyc to come to this spot again. We ordered the kalbi steak with the chicken long rice, shoyu poke, and spicy tuna ahi. Thank you chef Jerry and his family for serving us delicious food. Also, for the priceless hospitality!!!

After a week of disappointments at the highly rated eateries around Waikiki, this place hit the mark. The food was great and the service exceptional. They gave us a side of poi to try since we had never had it. The kalua pork was excellent and the Lau Lau really tasty too. Ambience is a quick stop restaurant so don't expect too much on the interior. Would definitely come back for the kalua and Lau Lau!

Such a gem. The staff was friendly and served great local items. Couldn't have had a better meal. The laulau is fantastic but you need a few trips to really explore how great their menu is!

This large plate will give you a well rounded sampling of classic Hawaiian dishes and a little dessert as well to finish it all off. It comes with Lau lau, Kalua Pork, Chicken Longrice, Lomi lomi Salmon, Poke, Poi, Sweet Potato, Pineapple, and Haupia. Don't for get to add a little chili pepper water to if you want to spice it up a bit. They do have a very large menu of other items and smaller plates if this sounds like a bit much for you or not what you are in the mood for

Food was great and the staff was super friendly, make you feel like ohana. And they have some really authentic dishes other Hawaiian places don't have.

I stumbled upon this restaurant while walking around, and the ambiance of the place drew me in. One can pick out a local family run restaurant by its lack of corporate thrills. Everything had a personal touch. The service was fantastic, they gave great recommendations and took great interest in my food experience. They wanted to share their cultural food. After a full explanation of each food on my plate, “Da big cahuna” They checked in on my numerous times to see what I thought of their food. 6/5 stars

Located in historic Kapahulu, this local themed restaurant gives you best of Hawaiian food and more. Lots of charm and character to this place from the décor to the staff. It is a very comfortable and relaxed setting to enjoy a great meal. Don't for get to add a little chili pepper water to if you want to spice it up a bit. They do have a very large menu

This is very much a community diner. I think I was the only person that the waitress didn't know personally. In spite of that I was made to feel very welcome, and the chef even brought me some hot sauce he had made. A wonderful experience, and I look forward to going back.

If you can't get to Kalihi for the best Authentic Hawaiian cuisine, come to Haili's where it's less crowded and there's no line! Free parking is available in the small lot to the right of the restaurant. Sidewalk dining or takeout at this time. Super great service! I got the Kahuna Plate which has almost everything!

  • 5/5 Emily Z. 2 years ago on Google
After seeing their restaurant on an Andrew Zimmern show, we decided to stop by to try their pork lau lau. The two of us shared a Kahuna plate - it was so much food! Their lau lau is so yummy, and I love their chicken long rice. The chicken soup is very flavorful! Great food and wonderful service!

  • 5/5 Nathan B. 2 years ago on Google
The owner was awesome. We stopped to get some Teriyaki chicken that my wife was craving and this hit the spot. I got the Laulau and Kalua pork. Both were super yummy. Even though they weren't allowing anyone inside they had a few tables setup outside to allow you to sit and eat. This place is a gem that many people miss due to the limited hours but if you have the time it is definitely a place to get some yummy Hawaiian food. It is also run by the locals and supporting the true Aloha spirit.

  • 5/5 J Kainoa T. 6 months ago on Google
One of the last real Hawaiian food restaurants around. The food is ono. The kind of place that the cook comes out to talk story with whoever ordered ake. Wasn't me! I ordered da Big Kahuna plate and went to town. Side order kulolo. I suffered a royal kanak attack! Was worth the money. Hawaiian food isn't cheap nowadays. The people who make it are still just as lovely.

Tried the pork kalua bowl, but felt that it didn't have much flavor. Came to try Hawaiian food and I'm sure it's pretty authentic, just I guess not for my palette.

My friends and I really wanted to try local, traditional Hawaiian food. While we understand it might be hard to do, we did feel that this restaurant is closest to traditional Hawaiian food. Food was tasty and healthy. The desert was simple but excellent. It was exactly what we were looking for. An experience that you cannot find in Waikiki. I would encourage foodie visiting Honolulu to come here to try this shop's food. Waikiki food is too tailored for the visitor's taste bud.

This was a favorite part of our trip to Hawaii. We wanted real Hawaiian food and you can get it here! We liked most of the food we tried. Jerry the cook was an excellent guide on what we should eat and told us about each item in detail. We really appreciated it! Lorraine the owner was so sweet as well. Be sure to make this part of your visit to Honolulu.

Haili’s catered our wedding and all of the food was exceptional. They were punctual and the delivery was seamless. We thought we ordered too much food compared to the number of guests, but all of the food was consumed quickly with many going back for seconds and thirds. The delivery person was like a ghost so we did not get a chance to give the tip we had set aside for the delivery. We will be going back for lunch soon to thank Lorraine and drop the tip for the driver off. We could not have been more satisfied and really expected nothing less as Haili’s is our favorite stop for plate lunch. Thank you thank you thank you for making our day as close to perfect as possible.

Ono Hawaiian food. Good sized portions, you will not find these food offerings at any regular diner in the area. Friendly staff. Parking can sometimes be a little bit of a challenge, but the food is worth it! Fresh kulolo flown in weekly.

Haili’s is authentic, Hawaiian soul food! Absolutely delicious. It feels like someone invited you into their home for fresh, home cooked food served on paper plates hahaha it’s part of its charm. The shoyu poke was fresh with a sweetness to the sauce. The Big Kahuna plate is great for sampling a bit of everything—eat the kahlua and Lau Lau with the salsa yummm! The galbi was marinated well and our favorite was the pack crusted ahi belly—omg so moist with a perfect crunchy crust. Do not miss out on this taste of Hawaii! I cannot wait to come back here :) thank you for your hospitality!

Kalua pork was the bomb-diggity! Prices are great, portions are fattening! Service was with a big smile. The significant other wanted Ono's Poke, and I wanted something a little more cooked... They do take out as well as eat-in, and they're fast. Service was with a huge smile.
