Quite literally the best food on the island!! Ingredients were incredibly fresh and so sustaining- such a change of pace from the typical burgers and fries you can get anywhere else. HIGHLY recommended for any and all vegetarians/vegans. Beautiful views and a killer location. Will be back for seconds tomorrow!! Thank you for everything!!

Trust me when I say this is probably one of the best Indian restaurants in Honolulu. I am a big fan of Indian food and I have been to different establishments but none could satisfy me the way Kamana kitchen can, to the point where I became a regular customer and the staff already knows my name and usual order (lamb beriani). The best part about this place is that the lamb is halal, music to the ears of Muslim patrons. The restaurant has been featured on different news and their spice level is on the hotter side so I recommend you to tone down one spice level than you usually would order (I like to order hot spice level but for this place I would just order medium and it would be at the perfect spice level). The mango lasso is rich and decadent, providing the sweet cool sensation that goes well with the spicy food. For dessert you should consider getting their pistachio ice cream, super yummy to tame the spice you just ate from your meal. Seating may be limited because it's a small restaurant so I recommend that you come before or after lunch/dinner rush hours. Parking is also limited.

A complete disappointment, ordered for take out, Lamb Marsala and Fish curry. The lamb accompanied by creamy side without aroma and some mix vegetables also tasteless. Fish was the same, the only thing ok was the bread and rice, all this as a special lunch price total $ 28 Not worth it, beside the restaurant is in bad shape, dirty and need an overhaul renovation.

It has been our biweekly curry take out place. There are few good Indian restaurants we like in Honolulu but ever since we tried Kamana kitchen, we are hooked. Everything we tried so far over the past few months are great. We like Tandoori meat items and Naan, Roti and other Naan. They are delicious. Vegetarian menu are as good. They know how to blend the spice. When you order curies, they give you very generous portion of basmati rice. We save them to make fried rice later. Haha All are take out. Very happy to find this place.

Best Indian Food place in Hawaii.. without an ounce of doubt. We ordered Chicken biryani and Veg Thali. We were very happy with the taste and spice level. Highly recommend.

[Management acknowledged my review and fixed it] Mahalo and Aloha for your fast response. ] I did not like the ambience and if it helps the management, there is a stink and it really smells bad inside. I'm only trying to help them with this review. If they can try and get rid of the smell it would def be a great place to dine in. Parking is off street and can also park next street for few $$.

My new favorite Indian spot. Reminds me of great Indian food from NYC. Vegetable Pakora, Malai Kofta and Garlic Naan were amazing. Everything came out piping hot and very quickly. Service was great. Will definitely be back!

Venture outside of Waikiki and go here!! I went with 5 people and everyone LOVED their food. The samosas were packed full of flavor, as well as all of our curries. You can bring your own wine for a $10 corking or you can buy there, my friends had beer, I stuck to water because all I wanted to taste is that bomb curry. I had the vegetable curry plate that came with a bit of everything and I highly recommend it if you’re indecisive. Their rice pudding was also surprisingly really good. Street parking but it wasn’t hard to find. We will definitely be back.

Definitely not worth the hype or the price... I got butter chicken, meat samosas, cheese Naan and mango Lassi. The portions were all quite small, very bland and overpriced. $40 for a meal this size and quality is ridiculous, even here. We will be sticking with Cafe Maharani, comparable pricing but with twice the food and far superior flavor!! I'd give this place zero stars if I could...

Decent indian eatery you'll ever have. Food is tasty except meat samosa (it has a dry texture). Lamb korma is good. Customer ssevice is not that good though. But still, will recommend you to try grabbing kines here!

It's a decent Indian food place with lot of vegetarian options. We went to have dinner and ordered Vegetable pakora, mutter paneer, butter roti and Gajar halwa. Everything was good. Services was very quick. Parking might be a problem since it's in downtown Honolulu. You might have to drive around to find some paid parking places or street parking.

A co-worker and I wanted to try Indian food so we stopped in and tried their lunch special... Lamb Tikka Masala and Lamb Curry, both mediumheat. We split an order of Meat Samosas. Our lunches were great; they came with basmati rice, naan, vegetable curry of the day and two other dishes that we assumed were flavor add-ons to the main item. The samosas were fine, more delicate than at other restaurants. It came with two sauces; we preferred the red one over the green. The lunch specials were very filling; we didn't need the samosas. $13-$14 for the lunch specials is a bargain. We loved it! Update: we've been back multiple times and the food is consistently good. That's key to long-term success... consistency in the product.

A must try if you are in Honolulu and want to try some yummy Indian food. We were a party of 6 and made reservations for lunch. We arrived slightly before time and were promptly seated. The servers were attentive and sweet. They interacted with the kids nicely too. Food wise everything was tasty and fresh. Dal fry was super good. And butter chicken too. Naans were fluffy and soft. We landed up getting to go for parents for dinner as well. All in all it’s a great place to eat fresh and tasty Indian food. PS - Parking is paid and you will have to walk a bit since this is located in the downtown area.

Quick and delicious Tikka Masala and Lamb curry. Just a great lunch spot to get your curry fix. Butter Chicken is on the sweeter side. However, Chicken Tikka masala and lamb curry are great alternatives to the go-to Indian dish. Mango Lassi is delicious. It's a little sweet for my liking, but nothing compared to a milkshake. Gulab jamun for cheat days only! Highly recommend this traditional Indian desert!

Please go here! The food, service, cleanliness are all top notch! So much flavor, nonstop water refills, everyone is so nice. But the foooood, oh man. It’s so good! Highly Highly recommend to eat here!

I’ve had Indian food in various parts the UK, Hong Kong and US and THIS place here in Honolulu Hawaii is in the top 2. It’s a little “hole in the wall” place with some charm. It feels family ran and everyone is so nice. We went twice for dinner in our week here and will be adding it to our list of regular spots to hit up every time we visit or when we move back. Highly recommend the chicken or paneer tikka masala's, the veggie pakora, garlic cheese naan and the rice pudding. 👌🏽💯

It's wonderful to have a downtown place to grab a snack. The staff is welcoming and reaponsive and made the work of taking and order, collecting payment, and presenting the food simple and easy. The Veg Samosas were warm, light, and flavorful with a little bit of heat. They were not heavy or oily. They also go well with a Masala Chai.

Excellent food! Everything was delicious but the highlights for me were definitely the lamb biryani, chicken tikka masala, butter naan, and meat samosas! The price is fair also.

Definitely the best Indian restaurant in the area. Not a Hawaiian speciality, but mix it up a little and get you some good Indian food! Staff was great. Bathrooms for patrons are available. Garlic cheese naan was great. Would come again.

We randomly came across this place and decided to try it out. We are so glad we did! It was our first time trying Indian food, the staff was attentive and friendly. We appreciated the home like vibe that the restaurant gave off. We took the waitress recommended dishes and it didn’t jdisappoint. We had the Chicken Makhani, Lamb kadhai, and the garlic nann bread to dip in the sauce. Jyothi’s cooking was so flavorful! It was our first, and definitely not our last time eating here!

Pretty solid Indian cuisine, not the best I’ve ever had in my life but it’s good for hawaii standards. They are out of some stuff like Indian beer atm due to import restrictions. Biriyana is a little oily but Channa masala and eggplant were delicious

We were craving Indian food and this hit the spot! The interior is unassuming, which usually means you've hit the jackpot for delicious food. Service was great, food was quick and delicious. We each got a platter which was an awesome way to try different dishes. Took half of it home. Highly recommend.

Very good Indian food, full menu, good value, great friendly service. The influences are Nepalese, the portions large and the quality great. If you are looking for Indian food on Oahu, you found it. The building/environment is basic ... you are here for the food which they obviously care about. We walked from Waikiki .. don't do that unless you *really* like walking ..... a long way (thru the business district at night)! Take "The Bus" for $2.75 (which we did on the way back).

Visiting Honolulu and found this restaurant while looking for Indian restaurants nearby! So happy we found this place. My husband and I both ordered the vegetarian thali which gave us a taste of many different items on the menu. We were each given one samosa, 2 pakoras, 3 different curries, rice, naan, papad and a rice pudding dish. I honestly believe one thali is good for two people; the quantity given is decent. We had leftovers that we sadly couldn’t take as our hotel doesn’t have a microwave. The taste was great and we really enjoyed all the dishes. Wouldn’t even mind visiting again before our trip ends.

Food was amazing. Service was really good complementing the food. Really good quality and authentic food. Wait time was very less. Number of people grabbing the to go orders were justified with the authenticity. 👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻 I would recommend them for anyone trying Indian food or someone used to it life long.
