Popped in here to check it out. Since I was the only one in there I didn’t want to be obvious and start taking pictures. It’s has the usuals along with the Hot bar. You know the ready to eat foods that you pay by the pound. The fruits and veggies looked good and fresh. I keep forgetting that they serve no meat products and only the alternatives.

I love Down to Earth Kailua but I feel sorry for other workers that I have to leave a bad review on here just because of a rude lady. I will strike this review out if they change her attitude. She stared at me and didn’t say anything when I entered in the store. I went to a different casher and she was nice but this rude lady looked mad and unwelcoming. Always she was looking around with bad attitude. She kept staring at other customers too. I was very uncomfortable and she didn’t even say anything after I purchased and left the store. I don’t want to go back to because of her. She shouldn’t be in the entrance cashier.

If you're looking for natural and organic foods or skin care products, this should be one of your top options. There's also a vegan deli in store with great hot or cold options for you to choose from.

Oh my goodness...if you are a vegetarian, like me, or a vegan...or if you love supporting local...or if organic is your preference...this is a place worth driving to no matter where you are on the island. They have an amazing selection of everything from produce, to groceries, to prepared foods. They also have a huge variety of supplements and natural beauty products. It is even a must stop for tourist gifts because they carry many Hawaiian product lines (chocolates, coffees, honey, hand creams, you name it). I found the cost to be comparable to the other independent markets I’ve frequented on the island. During COVID I believe their dine in options are somewhat limited but they have a large area to enjoy your coffee or meal and hang out, which I also look forward to enjoying in the future!

Nice local Hawaiian grocery store that would be the Hawaiian equivalent to Whole Foods. Nice selection of produce and overall some nice local products, bags for toting groceries home and prepared food products. It was nice to be able to buy local produce and local kombucha during our stay in Kailua. There is a large parking lot as well.

I try a lot açaís from Different places and prices. And I just find “down to earth the best option for the price, flavor and presentation of the “Warrior Açaí” I try 4 different at the north shore and around 12 in kailua and Honolulu. I love this one

Dear DTE: just take all of my money. All of it. You provide me with delicious vegan alternatives for the things that I love and your ready to eat food is SO DELICIOUS! Vegan egg, faken and chz breakfast sandwiches, tofu musubis, vegan burgers and pizza, spring roles with peanut sauce, vegan mac salad.... The list is endless. You have my heart (aka my stomach) and my measly paycheck. Thank you for feeding me.

Good selection of natural food (including locally grown produce) and body care products that you can eat and use without fear of polluting your body. Prices are really high. But it’s Kailua, and supporting local businesses is worth it, if you can. Accepts EBT / food stamps. Helpful staff.

Customer service here is incredible. I talked to Norma in wellness for almost 30 minutes about some painful physical conditions I was experiencing and my type one diabetes and she walked me through the store and helped me pick out exactly what she thought could to be helpful. The next day everything she recommended me made me feel better. These are not simply workers doing hours at the store, they care and are professionals and experts in their fields of the store. Thank you Norma

I'm so happy to have found a vegan hot food line!! Everything was delightful. In my top 3 restaurants on Oahu! Ate in the parking lot. Tried my friends chicken sandwich and OMG, headed back in to get a chicken sandwich for later. 🤍

Hands down one of my favorite food stores! Amazing organic sandwich and smoothie/juice bar and their staff is genuinely friendly. The prices are moderate for a health food store, especially in Hawaii, and they always have items I like on sale! get their food and drinks every day while visiting Oahu!

This place has absolutely everything good for your body. The selection was vast. I like how they organize the produce in neat stacks. The aisles are nice and roomy. The cashier was extraordinary and checked us out with a smile. Make sure to try Black Bomber cheeses garlic and herb is my favorite.

The food is delicious! The smoothies are amazing. I love to have breakfast here. But there is a but.. On the negative they never clean their windows. If I am paying $20 for a single plate of food that charges me per ounce I don't want to stare at filthy windows with the whole towns greasy hand prints outside and the inside of the eating area often has unsanitized tables. Other than that the flavors are heavenly with so many yummy vegan options.

Had a really bad experience today with the cashier Christian and it was really upsetting. He didn’t say hello, he just started scanning and asked if I needed a bag. Didn’t say the total and when I pulled my cash out he snatched it out of my hand. When he went to give me the change, he threw it in my hand. I was so appalled and what annoyed me even more was the fact that my mom clearly noticed it too. I’m giving three stars because the supervisor Janelle was nice over the phone. She swore that “Christian was a really nice person.” Either way it was such a nasty experience and it was quite obviously noticeable the way he treated me. Maybe it’s because I’m black. Idk.

I really enjoy Down To Earth every time I come to Hawaii. The hot bar food and salad bad items are so fresh, healthy and taste really good and the really appreciate the staff’s friendliness.

I bought some cookies and pastries from the bakery. The pastries were OK but the cookies were all bad. Someone I shared a cookie with had to spit it out, he disliked it that much. Could be a great grocery store, but beware the cookies!

We are having to adjust our diets for T1D and also lower gluten intake. They had a great variety of gluten free products. Just wish they had Humm probiotic seltzer as diabetics need this beverage.

I had a really good black bean and beet burger. Now, it was slightly soft in my opinion but still very tasty and they even had a gluten-free bun! Win! The Japanese purple potato salad was amazing I will be getting some to take on the flight home. We'll done Down to Earth!

quality and taste is not the same as it used to be. Cashiers aren’t fluent in English or extremely rude and provide bad service. Food is no longer worth the price.

I'm obsessed with this grocery store!! As a newly plant based person it's been incredible to have such a wide selection of vegetarian friendly products.

Even though it is ridiculously overpriced, selling the same items as Whole Foods right next door for more $$, I absolutely love down to earth. My favorite food item is the tofu nori wrap. I came in tonight looking for these in bulk, but they only had individual plastic containers and I hate to waste plastic, so I asked if I could get a box of them, and the manager Ty was so nice to help me out! The service was super friendly and they immediately make you feel welcome. I really appreciated the gesture of kindness for Ty to get the tofu wraps for me in a larger box without plastic. Mahalo!

My husband and I "discovered" Down To Earth a few days before we had to leave Oahu. I wish we had visited earlier. Everyone was so nice and the store is clean and has interesting items. The Amazon Warrior Pitaya bowl was sooooo good. We went back a day later and had the Italian Panini and the Value Menu Bean & Rice burrito. This was some of the best food we had from any restaurant on the island. This is proof that vegetarian meals can be delicious.. I was hoping there would be another location on the Big Island. But there isn't. 🥲 LOVE

Most of the pastry Goods I buy are from down to earth. I know they're not the most healthy in the world but they're healthier than what I find at the grocery stores. The ones at the grocery stores are full of chemicals to preserve they're fresh appearance. I think I'm really getting nutrition at down to earth. I especially like Olena Heat, by Hoolono. It's the only place I have found it easily. It helps with mental sharpness and circulation. I take some at the beginning of the day or on my avocado or rice. It's really delicious!

To be honest it was much better at the original location, the quality of the hot/salad bar has definitely gone down, and some of the items they used to carry they no longer do... the sandwiches are still amazing though... and most things haven't changed...
