We’ve eaten here twice within the last couple of days because it’s so good. The first time we came for lunch and our server wasn’t the best, but the food was good enough for us to want to come back. Our dinner was AMAZING. I had one of the best salads I’ve ever eaten in my life. Our server (Tom) was also really great, especially for how busy it was!

Hula pie is the size of your head and wonderful. It’s a hazelnut ice cream pie covered in chocolate. Had the seafood stew which is a coconut Thai tasting soup full of seafood. Amazing. And the view…. Will make you cry. Top 10 restaurant visits of my life and I travel as much as a pilot. Also the service Was fast and good. Lots of staff to keep everything going. Duke’s downstairs has live music and seems more popular, but.. it’s the same restaurant/menu and when you are upstairs you can see past everyone’s head straight to the ocean while still enjoying the live music. Price was typical for the area, but not bad.

We went and ate at Hula Grill on the first night that we arrived in Hawaii and I was so pleased with the quality of the food. It was absolutely phenomenal! The Mai Thais are incredible, calamari was the best I've ever had and the shrimp carbonara was delicious! I am so pleased with the service. Overall it was a great experience, wonderful atmosphere and very kind staff but service was a bit slow most of the time, especially during the mornings and afternoon. Dinner wasn't as slow, surprisingly. Can't wait to eat there again 😍

From start to finish this was such an amazing dining experience. The hostesses were so kind and helpful and our waitress Ocean was so nice and prompt. She gave us great suggestions and made sure we had everything we needed. My husband got the peanut butter bacon French toast which did not disappoint and I got the Big Kahuna Burrito with breakfast potatoes in the burrito (Ocean’s suggestion and she nailed it). For our drinks we had the Iced Chata and the Bloody Maria, whoever the bartender was can work magic. The weekend brunch is where it’s at and the views are top notch!

Highly recommended to make reservations in advance. Food is good, waitress was very polite however the food took fo.re.ver. Fish and chips dish had 3-4 fish pieces, not only one like in the pic :)

Very nice restaurant with different seating areas. Best is beachside seating area but also seating area around bar was very nice. Waitress were friendly, helpful adding nice atmosphere to the place. It’s usually busy, so you may have to wait for a while until being seated. Food was great adding more good reason to why I should go back there again.

We stopped by for a delicious brunch feast. The burger and Korean chicken were great. The banana pancakes and french toast were delicious as well. The highlight was the ice cream pie, simple but decadent. There are great views to boot, with fresh ocean air wafting in, a nice place for a family celebration.

Ate here the first day after arriving from the airport. The service was great. The view was even better and the food was great. I got the fish tacos and they were huge and delightful. My friend got the burger and that was delicious as well. Recommend both 🙂🌊

Our group had a celebration lunch here, and greatly enjoyed everything! We tried Loco Moco, Korean Fried Chicken, Baja Fish Tacos, Poke Tacos, Seafood Omelette, and Island Fruit Smoothies. Each dish was delicious, flavourful with good portions. Comfy decor and ocean views. Friendly and efficient service during busy lunch rush. Highly recommend!

Excellent brunch. The seafood omelet hit the spot. They allow you to get children size pancakes that are regular size fluffy yet filling hot cakes if you don't want the extra big ones. Also the fish & salad was very good too.

Service was super friendly and attentive! Was able to grab a quick dinner without waiting since we sat in the bar area. They had mushroom fries, which is something I’ve never seen before. They were pretty good. I got the fish tacos—one grilled and one fried. They were not bad, the corn was a nice added touch but wish it came with more sauce. They did a good Mai Tai. 🍹💕

The food was bland and had no flavor. But we really just booked the restaurant to have the Hula Pie, which was so delicious! The atmosphere was beautiful, and we got to enjoy the sunset! We enjoyed the live music and the vibe of the restaurant!

The waiter was nice. The food was decent. The portions smaller than expected for the price. The crab and macadamia nut wontons fell short of my expectations. I didn't taste much of the nut, and I expected crunchiness and didn't get it. The inside was very creamy and mushy. The one thing that saved it for me was the chili water they had at the table. I loved that sauce and would love to bring that home. It made their bread taste delicious. Otherwise, their bread was okay, and I love bread. The fish specials that my brother and cousin ordered were small portions, which is why we ordered three of the four desserts. They were all good. Lol.

Friendly staff... Good location... Not-so-great food... Shares kitchen with Duke's... Food is high-volume, mid-grade tourist fare. Don't go for the food. Hula Grill Pie is excellent though for a desert stop. If you can get a dinner seating at 5PM or 530PM it's a great spot for a sunset drinks view.

Came here for breakfast early on a Sunday. Made reservations at 3AM Sunday for a reservation at 9AM the same day. Restaurant didn’t seem super full at the time but it seems like reservations would be good if you want to guarantee seating quickly. The views are absolutely amazing overlooking the Waikiki beach and was a sight to behold especially if you’re seated next to the railing on the deck. Started with the iced coffee which I would pass on for next time. The simple syrup was too sweet and not very flavorful. Coffee didn’t have and depth of flavor either and wasn’t very strong. Ordered the prime rib which was absolutely delicious. Definitely some of the best prime rib I’ve had anywhere. Also ordered the poke bowl and subbed the rice for some greens which they happily accommodated. Everything was fantastic. The flavors were spot on with good depth and the variety of textures was amazing. Ended dessert with some Pomo pie which was sugar free and gluten free made from breadfruit. Quite unique and was pretty good. Service was extremely fast and friendly. Also love the contactless payment with QR code and apple pay support.

Excuse me, but this is the most delicious fish I've ever eaten. Tender fish on a pineapple pillow, with creamy sauce and macadamia nuts + lobster. Mmm.. this is something incredible. And the portion is huge. Minus star - chicken. It is neither salty nor sweet. Dry.

We came here for breakfast and the food was delicious but the service was pretty bad. To the point where you’d expect much better service for the price and quality of food as well as location. You’re on the second floor overlooking the beach. Right down below is Dukes where the service is great. It was an odd experience to dine at a nicer place with staff who all seemed like they didn’t want to be there, like every single staff member we encountered. They all were rude and cold. It’s too bad because the food was delicious but I would just go to Dukes below because the staff is much friendlier and they also have good food.

Upper floor of the duke’s Even better ocean view for their higher location Had lunch menu Taco was standard grilled is better than fried Loco moco was good -loved the mushroom gravy But I had to say their macadamia coffee was like water no taste of the Mac but cinnamon I liked the hula pie thick coating of chocolate ganache

Food here was awesome. Fresh, full of flavor and the view of the beach and ocean just seemed to make it better! Highly recommend the wings as well, some of the best I've had! Bloody Mary was also a home run.

We have eaten at the sister restaurant Duke’s before, which is downstairs, so we decided to try the restaurant that shares a kitchen with them upstairs since we enjoyed Duke’s before. We ordered beers, and we got the wontons as an appetizer. They were pretty good, but probably wont get again. The server (Rose) was busy but she did a good job of keeping up with her tables and making sure they had everything they needed. She informed us about the fresh catches of the day as well as the specials of the day that are not on the menu (be sure to ask about this). We ordered one of the specials which included mahi mahi and swordfish and it was artistically plated. The mahi was tender and flavorful. The swordfish was a tad overcooked so it was only okay. We also ordered the Opah fresh catch which I have never had before. It is a white flaky fish and it was so good. It was cooked perfectly and melted in your mouth. I ate everything on the plate. We had a great view of the sunset from our table. We did make a reservation online. Overall some of the prices were similar to Duke’s and some were cheaper. Some of the menu items were the same as Duke’s and some were different, which we also appreciated. Overall we enjoyed our meal here and will probably be back the next time we are visiting.

Hula Grill sits right above Duke's Waikiki. The atmosphere is great. We sat in the bar area for happy hour. The pork ribs, fish and chips, and burger were great! The Lemonade Slush drink was well balanced with a good pour. We finished off with some hula pie, which was phenomenal. A great start to our trip and stay in Waikiki. Five stars!

  • 3/5 Annie C. 4 months ago on Google
The food was really bad. The only good thing I ate was the hula pie. I wish I only ordered that and the drinks. The chicken sandwich had a soggy bun and the breading fell off. The lobster Mac was extremely watery. For such a nice location and such great service, the food was really terrible in flavor. Most of the food LOOKS visually appealing, but it taste very bland. I would never eat here again.

Overall a great experience. We sat at the bar and even though they were very busy we received good service. The wine selection was good and the food was delicious too. We had the striped Marlin tacos and the chicken tacos and each shared one. The views are great and it was a vibrant atmosphere. 👍👍

Decided to eat here instead of Duke’s. Walked right up to the bar with no wait while Duke’s was already at an hour. Bartender’s were nice, funny and enjoyable to be around. You get the live music from below since it’s open to the ocean side. Can get tables setting there as well. Food was good and didn’t take long to get. Definitely worth going back to.

Love the breakfast burrito here. One of the best I've ever had. The Portuguese sausage Benedict was good too. Was skeptical about the bao bun but it worked. They used to have an amazing croissant sandwich but haven't seen it in years. But if you spot it you should definitely get it. The views are amazing as well. It's the sister restaurant to Dukes. I'd go here for brunch and Dukes for dinner.

Although there was a short wait, the experience overall was top notch. We had a great seat with a view of the sun setting. The bread and their special sauce were a delicious twist on sweet and sour. The Korean wings were as good as the presentation. My chicken was fresh and the sauce brought out all the flavors. It had a smoky grilled flavor with guava sauce. The noodles were not the best but the shrimp were. Both drinks accomplished the goal and the staff are very pleasant.

Went for dinner had amazing service from Voliet and Trinity. Appetizer the honey mac nut shrimp was amazing. The main course was the mac nut crusted mahi was just disappointing after. The view is amazing.

Within my 5 day trip I ate here 4 times (breakfast, brunch, lunch, dinner)🤭😅 my most fav one was a brunch menu specially the Asian fusion wings. ambiance, food, service, view… is perfect here. Make sure you get a terrace table to get the view of the beach.

  • 4/5 Tabjula A. 1 year ago on Google
Great ambiance but make sure you get a table with an ocean side view. The shrimp was so fresh and well cooked. The only negative is parking. We need to pay $15 even after getting a validation.

We had a boozy brunch here on vacation and it was one of the best parts of the whole trip! Our server was so great and down to earth, by the end of the meal we had inside jokes. He even jumped into one of our selfies lol. I had a really great avocado toast with egg and bacon and my boyfriend had loco moco (which he says is the best on the island and better than goofy’s *gasps in shock*). The views of Waikiki beach are spectacular and there’s a great breeze. Loved this place!

The food was good, I had the pork tacos, I believe it could have used some kind of sauce. A BBQ or spicy sauce would have really made the dish. I had a wonderful server named Jessica she was amazing and kind. I would recommend this restaurant. It is right by the beach so you have a beautiful view while eating.

This is a must go to spot if you love brunch and views. I made reservations for a party of 9 and Hulu Grill was great at accommodating us last minute. We ordered about 3 rounds of mimosas flights. Highly recommend if you want a slight buzz before hitting the beach. We ordered the strawberry mochi waffles, seafood omelette, breakfast burrito, Loco Moco, and the Banana Mac pancakes. Wow everything here was delicious! The Loco Moco had all of the meats including slow braised short rib, pork and sausage, The omelette had some rich crab, lobster and shrimp stuffed into a thick spinach omelette. Not only were our dishes savory and delicious. The waffles and pancakes were another level. Great chewy texture with our warm waffles. Service here is perfect. We were seated right by the outdoor balcony. Stunning views of the beach and a cool breeze every couple of minutes. Our server was great and so was the rest of the staff. Our drinks were constantly getting refilled and our food came out really quickly. They have an extensive menu to fit any flavor profile. Highly recommend making reservations prior to get the best seating in the restaurant.

We stopped by during the late afternoon for lunch and the wait was about 20~30 minutes without reservation. We ordered Korean wings, fish tacos and burrito along with a few drinks which were all great. My only minor complaint was with the wings as their amount was small compared to its price.
