Excellent
service
at
an
aging
hotel.
Let’s
get
it
out
of
the
way:
the
rooms
are
not
good.
It’s
a
historic
hotel
so
part
of
it
is
that,
but
history
alone
won’t
make
up
for
it.
The
shower
sprays
straight
down
at
the
tub
faucet
because
the
hinge
is
old
and
it
won’t
stay
in
place.
The
water
temperature
is
genuine
misery—
it’s
cold,
then
it’s
hot,
then
it’s
cold,
then
it’s
hot.
All
within
the
span
of
mere
seconds.
Horrible,
horrible
shower
experience.
The
walls
and
doors
are
thin
so
you’ll
hear
housekeeping
outside
and
footsteps
above.
The
pool
is
weirdly
small
and
the
beach
chair
setup
isn’t
great.
It’s
not
as
roomy
as
something
like
Andaz
Maui’s.
Just
kind
of
mid.
The
Toto
toilet
setup
is
good
functionally,
so
no
complaints
there.
Better
than
most
hotels
for
sure.
The
newer
ones
are
better
looking
but
that’s
a
minor
nitpick.
The
service
is
good
enough
to
make
up
for
these
though.
It’s
really
good—
Justin
at
the
front
desk
remembered
my
room
number
later
on,
Donna
at
the
front
desk
gave
me
a
call
to
make
sure
I
settled
in,
and
they
brought
up
some
fruit
unsolicited.
It’s
five
star
service,
I’ve
rarely
had
better.
Really
elevates
the
experience.
Spa
experience
is
great.
The
facilities
aren’t
great
since
they’re
just
operating
out
of
converted
guest
rooms
(no
doubt
a
sign
of
the
hotel’s
age),
but
the
actual
massages
are
great.
Brent
was
brilliant
and
I’ll
be
returning
for
that
alone.
He
was
clearly
an
expert
and
I
walked
out
feeling
incredible.
