I
rarely
write
reviews
but
we’ve
been
here
a
few
times
with
the
same
issue
and
I’m
hoping
a
manager
will
read
this
and
something
good
comes
out
of
it.
For
starters,
the
view
and
waitresses
are
excellent.
The
food
and
drinks
are
also
good.
I’d
recommend
the
burgers,
blt
salad,
coconut
shrimp,
and
jack
daniels
salmon.
Unfortunately
Kai,
the
host,
is
awful.
His
personality
is
short
and
abrasive,
he
doesn’t
want
to
be
there
and
hates
that
he
has
to
seat
guests.
Forget
a
simple,
“hello,
welcome
to
the
Lanai”
Kai
would
rather
tell
you
that
the
kitchen
is
closing
in
twenty
minutes...even
though
we
arrived
at
6pm
and
they
close
at
7pm.
He
then
told
us
he
couldn’t
seat
us...which
was
also
not
true.
A
waitress
overheard
him
and
literally
stepped
in
to
clear
a
table,
seat
us,
and
apologized
for
him.
You
could
tell
she
was
used
to
doing
it
and
was
also
annoyed
by
his
behavior.
On
a
previous
visit,
I
asked
to
sit
at
a
certain
table
by
the
water.
He
told
me
we
couldn’t
sit
there,
even
though
the
restaurant
was
pretty
dead
and
my
requested
table
had
just
become
available
(honestly,
I
think
he
just
didn’t
want
to
clean
it).
After
he
sat
us,
we
ordered
drinks
while
the
table
sat
vacant
for
another
10
minutes.
After
ordering
food,
we
asked
our
server
if
we
could
move
to
the
table
by
the
water
and
she
cleaned
it
herself
for
us
to
enjoy
the
view.
I
honestly
feel
bad
for
the
staff
that
have
to
overcompensate
for
the
host.
Thankfully,
the
drinks,
food
and
the
beautiful
view
are
enough
to
overshadow
Kai’s
lousy
attitude.
